Dewsbury Dental Centre

Negative experience: I am writing this review on bahalf of my elderly father who suffers with cognative dysfunction. We have just returned from an appointment at The Mount Dental Practice, Wakefield that was a referral from DDC. This is approximately a 14 mile round trip, not a great distance but enough in Christmas traffic through the centre of Wakefield... IYKYK!. I have taken time off work to get my father to this appointment only to be told that no extractions are required because they have already been done! Yes, my fathers teeth have already been pulled, several weeks ago at DDC!! Due to my fathers memory issues and also having remaining teeth he put his trust in the referral and didnt question the letter that arrived in the post for him to book this appointment within 14 days or he would be discharged from their care. This has caused unneccesary stress for my father and has wasted valuable time, not only for myself but for the staff at The Mount. My father has experienced an issue with DDC previously due to the imcompetence of staff, that issue was rectifield in an acceptable manner, but, I must stress it should not have happened in the first place, hense this review. I feel this practice is focusing more on the aesthetic/private side of dentistry and is less interested in the helping the people that really need it.

Negative experience: I had an absolutely awful experience. I have the biggest abscess on my face and the dentist still went ahead and pulled my tooth out. After stressing to him that I had this abscess. He injected me straight into it and I screamed that loud and jumped out of the chair. He then pulled the tooth straight away with out letting it numb up. I then asked if I needed antibiotics and he said no and sent me home. Still with the abscess and now an open wound that will probably get infected.

Fantastic experience: Anthony is the best dentist I've ever had he leaves all the decisions about treatment totally up to you, ive had dentists in Barnsley and Sheffield where you feel like they are deciding your treatment and you have to just go with what they say. He explains everything and makes sure you understand fully what's being done. Very kind, considerate and understanding dental technician.

I needed so much work but they took the time to help me feel comfortable and to make sure I was alright. After years of toothache I now feel nothing and it’s been affordable too. Fantastic experience: Dr.Majid is highly skilled, empathetic and has a great bedside manner. The latter is so important, many of us patients can feel vulnerable. He has always made me feel safe and well take care of. His equipment and work ethic are second to none. You really feel you are getting best you can pay for. The staff and receptionists are brilliant too. Perfection doesn't exist or does it?

Fantastic experience: Full marks to DDC. My wife had broken denture Monday saw her dentist Tuesday denture out for repair back Thursday lunch you don't get that service much these days. Brilliant

Usually I’ve got a phobia of visiting the dentist but Dr Ugradar and Olivia both were brilliant and reassuring. They talked me through the procedure and made sure I was aware of what was going on throughout the check up! Couldn’t be happier with the care from the whole team!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend DDC. Me and my wife visited the surgery several times for dental treatment this year having had challenges with our own regular dentist. We came for a second opinion and were vert happy with the service. The staff were very friendly and professional and made us feel at ease during every visit even though we had to travel from afar. We received phone calls from the team to book appointments in advance and got regular reminders via text of upcoming appointments. The dentist Dr Majid did a fantastic job when my wife struggled with her dental health. Dr Majid's assessment of my own issues was very thorough. He made referrals and stayed in touch throughput the process.

Negative experience: Paid £120 for a filling, its come out within 3 days and now they want another £60 for a check-up and then to pay for the treatmeant again after that! Absolute scammers, avoid at all costs

Fantastic experience: I can’t speak highly enough about DDC, I’d had some nightmare dentists over the years & came with a bag full of reservations & nerves to my first app with Gemma, but omg she completely put me at ease right from the word go & over a few months completely transformed my teeth, she talked me through every procedure, was professional yet very personable , I really can’t thank Gemma enough. Infact every one I have spoken to there are so lovley & welcoming it’s a fantastic dentist 10/10 xxx

Negative experience: My experience with this dentist was absolutely awful. When I called to book an emergency appointment, the receptionist’s response was appalling. Instead of showing concern, she instructed me to call back the next morning at 8 AM. My immediate suffering wasn’t a priority to them. When I explained I couldn’t call at 8 AM due to work commitments and requested an appointment for another day, the receptionist, Ruqayya, found it amusing and giggled. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable when dealing with someone in need of urgent dental care. After a frustrating conversation, I asked to speak to the manager for a resolution. However, instead of addressing the issue, the manager informed me they couldn’t accommodate my needs and removed me from their patient list. It’s beyond belief that they would dismiss a longstanding patient simply for providing honest feedback about their service. Clearly, the manager can’t handle criticism, reflecting poorly on the entire staff. This dental practice urgently needs restructuring. Patients shouldn’t be dismissed because the staff can’t handle valid complaints. Avoid this place at all costs.

The dental work is second to none, had a wisdom tooth removal and the experience was far better than i could of hoped-for! Talked me through the entire procedure before doing it and constantly checking in on me all the way through. Aftercare was fantastic. Best dental practice is the uk thanks guys.

Fantastic experience: Me and my two girls aged 7 and 9 saw a new dentist today called Racheal. She was amazing with me and the kids straight forward and helped with any questions and gave the girls great advice on which toothbrush is best to use. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Amazing dentist , 5 star all round great experience at Dewsbury Dental centre . From start to finish the practice is warm & welcoming even for the kids, smells great too. Lovely friendly staff at reception they made sure I got another appointment around my schedule with the kids and It is always spotless too! Plus they are now doing fat dissolve injections and iv infusions and had loads of information and some leaflets so I could give them to my partner. Even the lovely girls that are doing it Bethany and Harriet I believe said if she has any questions or wanting a consultation to come in or call and they are happy to help.

Negative experience: Don’t get me wrong the drs themselves are amazing but reception I’m sorry but are rude over the phone. I’m aware I missed 2 appointments, tried to explain my daughter is very poorly with her asthma and I was in hospital therefore I totally forgot about the appointment but she was deregistered. I then said just deregister all my children and they didn’t care at all with the attitude the woman had over the phone. I’ve now registered them somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I have just had my first appointment at DDC. I saw Dr Jamshaid. When I arrived I was extremely anxious and embarrassed at the state of my teeth as I haven't seen a dentist for some years. She really put me at ease and helped with breathing exercises to help calm me down. Dr Jamshaid was very thorough and professional throughout as was the dental assistant. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: After several days of severe pain, a reaction to an oral product, a hospital visit aswell as constent eye pain, jaw pain and headaches I decided to phone Dewsbury Dental Centre for an emergency appointment to deal with a very troublesome tooth. To my surprise I managed to get a same day emergency appointment with Alia and I honestly can't thank her and the team enough for such a pain free and trouble free experience. I decided on removal of the tooth which was all done there and then. The tooth was rather well rooted but Alia did a fantastic job and even 12 hours on I can honestly say the only pain I have is a slightly swollen gum that's tender to the touch which considering what's involved in the removal of a tooth I find quiet remarkable ... I've not had any need to take any pain killers whatsoever which is amazing. True masters of their craft!! No pain during the procedure or after...I'm so happy with the result and would highly recommend their fantastic service. Everyone is so polite, helpful and welcoming. I felt so relaxed and at ease through the whole procedure and although I didn't take the offer, it was very nice to be asked if I needed a break throughout the removal of the tooth. Thankyou again for all of your help today, you all deserve more than the 5 stars google allows. All the best Alex

Fantastic experience: These guys are great. I had an emergency appointment with Maisha for a lost filling that was very sharp on tongue. Reception fully explained that I was been squeezed in and that all she would be able to do was smooth over as a temporary measure and then i would need to come back for further treatment. First time i had seen Maisha and she instantly put me at ease. Not only did she smooth the tooth she managed to pop some filling over the top as added protection. She explained i would need to come back and that she was quiet booked up but the lovely reception staff got me in within 6 weeks. I can not fault the practice, dentists or staff. 100% recommend

Negative experience: So adding on to this I was told by dentist majeed that I would be called back in September and any issues dealt with without any further charges.i called today and the receptionist said she has spoken with above dentist and its another £40..so much for telling me not bothered about money more about customer satisfaction.this was after paying £100 which they insisted was in cash

Fantastic experience: My experience was excellent it was the first time I have been to a dentist for a lots of years and found Mr Majid very kind and professional. I was very nervous and he reassured me through all the treatment up to press. I still have a few more visits for treatment and so relaxed and much more confident. All staff very kind and considerate would recommend this dentist especially if your a nervous person.

Negative experience: I have been with this dentist almost 25 years as a Denplan patient, there is a steep demise in service in the last couple of years, the main issue is the number of appointments they cancel, as a consequence what was April and October check ups has now moved on to August. My 16 July Appointment this year has been pushed on to last week in August. I took this up with the dentist as it was my belief Denplan included routine six month check ups and hygienist appointments. In the callback conversation, which I am grateful for, the dentist advised me that “frequency of check ups is at the discretion of the dentist”. As a consequence I started my research journey; Denplan is one of the earlier payment plans, and there are plenty of other options available these days. Moving forward I’ve moved to a different plan with a £10 a month saving, with an empty waiting room, (yes spare seats, no shuffling round on a wooden storage bench with cushions or as is customary having to stand and wait.) My new dentist has fantastic state of the art equipment, and more dentists yet a similar size waiting room. I’m delighted with this outcome.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to DDC from my dentist due to some severe pain from my back teeth which was causing headaches, jaw and neck pain. I was told that I probably needed a root canal but was seen by Dr Usman Majid. He did a thorough check and told me that I just needed a cavity filling to start with which alleviated the problem. There was little to no pain during the process. Dr Majid is a true professional, made me feel at ease, explained everything thoroughly and is highly recommended… amazing staff and service all round..

Positive experience: Friendly service. My dentist for nearly two decades.

Negative experience: Unclear, incomplete information and hidden charges make you pay more than initially told or enticipated, especially in case of invisalign. DDC says they don't have any record of me. They will not have it because it was for my family member, who I am responsible for. It happened twice.

Fantastic experience: Was referred to DDC by my NHS dentist for a root canal treatment as it was "too difficult" for them to complete. Dr Majid was very helpful in alleviating any pain by providing a very solid temporary filling until my appointment. The root canal itself seems to have worked and from what I understand, he uses a microsope to ensure all the canals are filled . Overall experience was 10/10

Fantastic experience: I'm not registered with a dentist, and haven't been for the longest time, so I was a bit worried when I had an emergency and the NHS emergency bookings were completely unavailable in all of West Yorkshire.. Fortunately Dewsbury Dental Centre were able to fit me in on short notice. I was remarkably nervous for having to deal with my wisdom tooth, and was prepared to have to deal with pain, referrals, and long waiting periods, but the dentist who saw me was incredibly lovely and professional and dealt with it surprisingly quickly and painlessly. It's now been taken care of all in one quick trip, and I have nothing but good things to say for the experience there.

Fantastic experience: I would 100% recommend this practice to anyone, I went for the teeth whitening treatment. Josh was brilliant, he explained everything thoroughly and clearly, the facilities were immaculate and I was really, really pleased with the results! Having been a long term smoker I was genuinely surprised at the improvement and it’s been nice to hear compliments from people who have noticed :D
