Fantastic experience: new hygenist very gently and thoughtfull

Fantastic experience: I have had a brilliant experience at Acomb Dental since registering a few months ago. The team are very attentive and make you feel like a human not a number. On my first visit the practice manager happened to pop out to the reception area, introduced herself on passing and we had a lovely chat. I felt very welcomed! In particular Liam (hygienist) is fantastic. I feel I can smile again. I wear fixed braces and have been suffering with gingivitis. He has taken the time to thoroughly explain the best way to clean my teeth, and in a very informative way. After two weeks of following his advice and two hygiene appointments with him, the majority of the inflammation has disappeared and I can commence my orthodontic treatment again. I cannot recommend this practice enough! Thank you

Fantastic experience: On arrival I was anxious that I might be asked to register with a tablet computer but fortunately this did not happen. My hygienist arrived promptly. She was the same hygienist who treated me on my first visit, so she was able to make a comparison and advise.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't be happier with the service I always receive at Acomb Dental and especially the service and care I received recently when my front tooth broke 2 days before heading off on holiday - I felt incredibly lucky and impressed to be squeezed in for a full and seamless (not temporary) repair the next day for which I couldn't be happier with, thank you to Michael and the team.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend visited this dentist practice today, she’s hasn’t had the best of luck with dentist in the past so becomes very anxious when in the chair. As soon as she came into the practice she was met with a very friendly and caring practice manger and dentist who spent time to explain and go over her dental X-rays which no other dentist has ever done in the past even taking the time to fix her retainer. She came back home in tears of happiness that someone actually took the time to listen to her and make her feel at ease will definitely be using this practice for further treatment and would recommend to anyone who is anxious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I walked in I was incredibly nervous as I don't have the best experiences with dentist and Tracy was so warm and welcoming which put me at ease whilst waiting. My dentist Dr Allan Wood was so calming especially when I explained my fear and he had a chat which really calmed my nerves. They were very quick and efficient with appointments for further treatment and even managed to book me in the same day. Thank you for making the dentist and pleasant experience and for calming my nerves and having patience

Negative experience: Treatment from dentist attentive and good, To much talking in other departments which people do not want to listen to when having treatment should concentrate on job in hand. Not as pleasant or as good since being sold out. Some staff ok others I feel let the side down some what, just seem to be treated like a number nowadays, And I really think they should STOP putting the price of a pair of plastic gloves and basically this is all it is on your bill calling it PPE not telling you about it before you pay your bill and hoping you will not question it, they are not doing or using anything more than they were before Covid so why are we being charged for it? This practice should stop, you get charged enough without this and to top it all the prices are going up again, people cannot afford it now, why the price increases ? every time you go they have put them up. And there was no gland or inner mouth inspection like there use to be, why has this been stopped, I thought this was all part of the check up examination you are paying enough for it. I have noticed that the reviews that are poorly rated do not receive a reply/feedback from the clinic only the rave reviews very strange that, apologies for bad experiences surely must warrant some kind of reply ? obviously not.

Negative experience: Appointment was 25 mins late. I was showed other patients medical details / scans with their name on. The dentist said he did not know what was wrong with my tooth. Extortionate amount for a ten minute filling.

Negative experience: Very disappointing experience with this expensive clinic with good reviews. Heavy handed dentist, salesy approach in a clinical environment, overpriced for what you actually get. I paid £149 for a filling replacement and I ended up with a bruised lip and tooth pain I did not have before the filling change. No apology received either when I mentioned this.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and Chris my dentist is a great bloke to have a bit of a crack with. I don't have a problem with that, it was the cost as the only material's involved were a pair of latex disposable gloves and you don't even get a bib included in the price I paid. £55 to check my mouth and glands and to see that my false teeth (top and bottom set) were fitting correctly (as I have no original teeth left) I thought was a bit expensive out of a state pension. Works out at just over a £1 a week. That price must be a standard charge as my treatment only took less than five minutes, the rest of the time I was in there we were just chatting until my 20/30 minutes was up.

Fantastic experience: I'm a retired private dentist with NO previous links to the practice. So this might be the review that you should read. It's so difficult to choose a dentist. You need a combination of things that rarely come together in one place. They have here. You need to build a long term relationship with a small dental practice for the sake of your mouth. Seeing someone different every time doesn't work. These are nice people who do a very good job indeed. A proper 'general practice' where your mouth is looked after properly. And when things are complicated (and they have been for us) the skills are there to deal with things, instead of 'referring' you to a 'specialist' who you have never seen before. We feel like we've dropped lucky.

Fantastic experience: Called Acomb Dental Clinic on Front Street to review a troublesome tooth which has bothered me for some time. As ever, the team were very professional and the dentist, Chris Hand, diagnosed the problem very quickly after a thorough examination. He has given me some alternative treatments to consider, so it is now up to me to decide the way forward. Not an ideal way to spend half an hour of your time, but if you are looking for dental treatment, Acomb Dental is highly recommended.

A really smooth and efficient experience especially considering all of the covid restrictions! Dentist happily answered all questions (of which my partner had many). I can't recommend this practice highly enough, we won't be going anywhere else!!
