Negative experience: Called this morning to ask about availability for a dental emergency involving severe pain, the receptionist was really rude the entire time and when she said I’d have to go on a waitlist, I said “okay I see thank you” and she scoffed and laughed as I hung up. It was really confusing. This experience seemed contradictory to their website.
Fantastic experience: Received 2 fillings which were completely painless from start to finish. The best dentistry experience I’ve ever received. The place is so clean and inviting, it was even the perfect temperature, attention to detail has clearly been made here. Also took the time to show me and explain where and how I can improve my oral care to avoid fillings in the future. Would recommend any nervous patient to attend this dentist, all staff are so friendly and calm and just a completely positive experience start to finish.

Negative experience: Not pleased at all. A simple procedure that has not been rectified. Be careful young people, do not let them put mercury fillings in your mouth, go for white fillings. My teeth are god given and were compromised due to my ignorance by men with out of shape egos chasing a buck.
I’m so sorry that you feel that we have let you down. I understand your disappointment not being seen today. Here at Buttercup, we guarantee painless dentistry. This is achieved by insisting that our dentists take the time to make sure the patient is fully numb prior to starting treatment. This seems like a pretty obvious statement but it has been my experience that some dentists try to speed up treatments in order to fit more patients into their day. I can say this because my old dentist hurt me many times when delivering his style of dentistry and I am a nervous dental patient even to this day as a result of these experiences. The difficulty is that with extended appointments it becomes necessary to ensure our patients attend their arranged appointments on time. You arrived 30 minutes late for a 20 minutes consultation. We try and help with this by sending 2 reminder emails and 1 text message. These are spread from 3 weeks to 24 hours prior to the appointment. No fee is incurred if our patients respond to any of these contacts to let us know they can’t make it. So, our dilemma is to shorten appointment times or stick with our current ethos on patient care. My view is that pain free dentistry has to come first.

Negative experience: Good dentists but very unprofessional as a business accusing clients of not paying for treatment. Today I was taken aback as I had paid a £40 deposit 4 weeks ago that failed to be registered in their accounting system. I was threatened that if I didn’t show them prove I had paid I would be barred from the practice. Since shown this proof i had paid Im seething and would never return as a patient to this surgery. Mistakes can happen but there. Accounting system is seriously flawed
Fantastic experience: Just had my last treatment today to get my final Full Upper Arch Implant Bridge fitted, my dentist Graeme Ker has been absolutely amazing throughout the whole treatment plan from my Implant Surgery back in April to final fit today, he is so professional, has great attention to detail, answered all my questions, explained the process along the way and really looked after me. A big thanks to Zoe the Dental Nurse who looked after me during my surgery when we even managed to have a laugh and has been with me on subsequent visits. Graeme also replaced all my bottom crowns in June which look fantastic. This dental work has totally changed my life, as the prospect of wearing dentures was not an option for me as I struggled to tolerate a partial one. My teeth are better than my natural ones and has given me more confidence, a great smile and not to mention I can wear my red lipstick again. I would highly recommend Graeme Ker he is an fabulous dentist and I wish him all the best for the future. I am so lucky to have come to Buttercup 7 Day Dental.
Fantastic experience: Best dental practice I’ve even been to! I’ve been going to Buttercup Dental for around 5 years now and all the dental staff are amazing. Earlier this year I got my wisdom teeth removed and I ended up being quite a tricky case but thanks to the brilliant care and treatment I received from Jordan and the team I have had the best outcome. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient here since 2018 and Anja is amazing! She’s careful, considerate and makes a potentially stressful situation a breeze! Anja is both my dentist and orthodontist and I’m always delighted with my treatment. The practice is also very friendly, modern, and I find them quite flexible with appointment availability. Negative experience: Had teeth cleaning by hygienist and have ended up with a severe widespread gum infection 3 days later for which I have beenprescribed antibiotics as had a fever and unable to eat.Was charged 58 pounds for the privilege which seems a bit steep as we had registered as NHS patients. No one bothered to phone me back after I left a message asking for advice. Shocking service will be taking the family elsewhere

I’m sorry but I can’t find your name on our system and so can’t look into your complaint. I can offer some comments based on your complaint however. In order for any hygienist to cause a systemic infection which would require antibiotics would be highly unusual. I have not seen or heard of any cases of this in 20 years of practice. Our hygienist Fiona is without doubt one of the most experienced and skilled hygienists in Glasgow. To become this skilled takes many years of experience and I find it difficult to see how the problems you have described could in any way be caused by Fiona.
With regards to not receiving a reply to your phone message, I can say that this should not happen. We have systems in place to ensure all communications from our patients are dealt with in a timely manner. That said, mistakes can be made and if this has occurred in your case then please accept my sincere apology.
Fantastic experience: As a new patient you really hope to feel trust and confidence build from the first chat with your dentist, followed by attentive, pain-free and competent dentistry work. Jordan delivered all of these and then some. And if you’re lucky he’ll sometimes break into the odd tune. Free concert, brilliant dentist, great teeth! Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic dentist. I hadn’t been for years (my laziness), ended up with the dreaded toothache. Visited the dentist on a whim hoping to make an appointment for treatment. Despite not having an appointment or visiting in over 5 years, the dentist managed to see me there and then. My decayed tooth was removed within 20mins of walking through the door! I am extremely grateful to buttercup dentist and can’t recommend enough! Toothache now a bad memory!
Fantastic experience: Very welcoming environment to come into, doesn’t feel like a dental practice. Good for those who are frightened of going to the dentist. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Got composite bonding done by Jordan as well as other treatments , I feel absolutely amazing and don’t have to cover my mouth when I smile. The confidence it has given me is priceless

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient for a number years , went as emergency appointment for first time, Anja Visser fixed the problem with great care. She is very good and experienced dentist. The practice is friendly in general, although it has become very difficult to get appointments recently which is no surprise given quality of care extended. I have now moved away but wish Anja & Buttercup the best.

Fantastic experience: I am from Spain, and I have never been in a UK dentist as I always trusted my dentist in Spain ( it is one of those things you don't understand till you are a foreigner ) The thing is during covid19 I could not go back to spain so I decided to go to a uk dentist. I have to say that I am very please I gave the first step to go to this dentist. I have been there several times treated by Dr Graeme Ker and I think he is the best dentist that I have been to in my life. ( still i think my dentist Eva in spain is great though :P ). He is very very profesional and at the same time he has very good personal skill. For a person terrified of needles is a good thing. You can clearly see that he enjoys his job, which it makes you feel like you are in good hands and you are safe. At the end of every treatment he takes a few minutes to talk to you outside to let you know the results and how the process went. Another thing I liked about his professionalism is that I went to do a filling, and the dentist assistant was new and very confused ( which is normal, everyone has to start from 0 at some point ) and even though he was very focused doing his job and the girl didnt know certain things she was asked, he never got anxious or lost his pacient with the student, but he stopped and went through things with her different times very nicely. I know this is what we should expect from everyone, but we know this is not the case often. Thus, I just want to recommend his service 100%. For me, the best dentist I have ever been ( I hope Eva doesnt read me ). Well done, Dr Graeme I love seeing people enjoying their job. Buttercup dentist 100% recommended.
Fantastic experience: Really good service. I had to make a first appointment for my young daughter and because of the Covid restriction it had been very hard to been seen as a new patient. But they found a way to fit her in and we got a excellent service as always.

Negative experience: I (entirely my own fault) missed an appointment here. I was the first patient of the day and was due in a 08:30. I had been working a nightshift and forgot. I got a phone call at 09:15 stating I had missed my appointment and that I'd incurred a £50 fee (my deposit). I was then immediately pressed to rebook there and then or else I would lose a further appointment I had in 5 months time. I explained that I was an NHS worker who had just had a very busy night shift, and that I wanted some time to think about it. I also questioned why no one had rung me when I was 10 minutes late as I could have been there in 2 minutes had I realised, and the appointment would have gone ahead. There was no answer to that, I suspect it was because by waiting the full 45 minutes before calling they guaranteed the full late free (£1 per minute is what they charge). It baffled me that a dentist and receptionist had been sat there for 45 minutes with no patients rather than making a quick call to see where I was. The man on the phone was rude and pushy. They did send reminder messages, the last of which was on the 21/2/20 (my appointment was on 4/4/20, so a full 10 days prior. My own fault, but the customer service was poor.

I am truly sorry that you found our customer service to be poor. It is true that you should have received a second reminder on the day before your appointment. Our records show that the text message failed to send. Maybe we recorded your number incorrectly.
I can see why you may be baffled that someone did not call you earlier. Had this happened then maybe treatment could have gone ahead. I would say however that to lose 12 minutes of a 50 minute appointment would be too much in my opinion. We are very clear with our dentists that we do not accept rushed treatment. This leads to bad experiences in the dental chair. To lose this amount of time would mean either less time to administer local anaesthetic and wait for it to take effect. This is the most common cause of pain in the dental chair. Or less time to carry out treatment. Rushed cavity preparation is the most common cause of post operative pain.
You are a valued patient here at buttercup and your dentist was very disappointed with our reception staff when she heard about your experience. I promise you that we do not like taking deposits for missed appointments but having extended appointment times to ensure a good experience comes at a cost to us.
Please accept my apologies again. I am happy to refund your deposit as a gesture of good faith and I hope that we see you here again at buttercup.

Fantastic experience: I first went into the practice to see what could be done about fixing my teeth. After a very informative and friendly discussion with Angela who informed me of the Invisalign treatment I decided to go for it. Unfortunately for me I needed quite a bit of pre-treatment before getting my braces so I was making regular appearances at the practice. Thankfully each visit was timely and I was put at ease from as soon as I stepped through the door. Angela herself did all of my appointments both before and during the Invisalign treatment. After 15 weeks of braces and several afterwards for whitening I can say I am extremely happy with my smile and the entire process. :D - I can now confidently smile with my teeth after 20 years of hiding them! Thanks to Angela and the entire Buttercup team.

Negative experience: If you miss one appointment you will have to pay a £50 fee, even if it has been the only time you missed an appointment ever. Me and my partner will take the hundreds of pounds of dental work we were going to get done somewhere more decent. Luckily my partner hadn't made his appointment yet because you will have to pay a large deposit. They also try to push you to do thousands of pounds of extra, unnecessary treatment, like getting adult braces even though you say you are perfectly happy with how your teeth look. Girl on the phone isn't much help either.

With regards to our dentists pushing unnecessary treatments on our patients I’m afraid I have to disagree. Again, we have a very firm line on how our dentists treatment plan and communicate. My view is that it is unethical not to discuss all of the options that a patient might benefit from. If we don’t do this then our patients can’t make an informed decision on what’s best for them. We have weekly clinicians meetings to ensure our dentists are in line with our passionate beliefs on this and many other aspects of patient care.
That said, I do understand your disappointment regarding the broken appointment fee. As a gesture of good will, if you can contact our reception, I’ll ask for this to be refunded. I sincerely wish you all the best.

Fantastic experience: Friday 30th November was my first visit to Buttercup 7 Day Dental, It more than exceeded my expectations.On arrival the reception staff were very helpfull and relexing ln this ultra modern dental practice with excellent decor leading to a most comfortabe atmosphere.The treatment room was state of the art. Extensive use of high tech digital systems was in place. Angela my dentist was extremely pleasant and had an excellent way of explaining the procedures and put me at ease during the thorough examination. We had a discussion regarding my treatment plan. I would strongly recommend Buttercup 7 Day Dental to family and friends.

Fantastic experience: Like many other reviews I was in terrible pain on a Saturday and after contacting 20 other dentists in Glasgow I found these guys! I paid a large fee over the phone out of desperation to get rid of the pain but it was their last appointment, I would’ve paid anything! The service is without doubt the best I’ve ever had from a dentists, the receptionist was fantastic and the place just looks incredible, I felt so relaxed and I hate the dentist! The dentist really listened to my problem, he patched up two teeth and prescribed antibiotics, he made it clear that the pain wouldn’t go away as the infection had to clear first. I was a bit gutted. 1 hour after treatment, no pain! I’m now writing this after managing a full nights sleep! Which I owe to this dentist! I am incredibly greatful! Thank you Buttercup!
Fantastic experience: Needed emergency dental work today (Sunday) but my own dentist was closed. I found Buttercup 7 Day Dental on Google. Called them at 10am advising I wasn't a registered patient but needed an appointment. The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and empathetic. To my amazement she advised they could see me same day (a Sunday). I did have to make an advanced card payment to secure the booking which I can understand. They called me later to say they had a cancellation and could actually see me earlier. I was treated by Ryan who was professional, friendly and efficient. He took the extra time to explain everything as well as a quick check up, spotting things my own dentist had advised on as well as things they hadn't. He was also happy to answer questions at the end of the appointment & no hard sell. The Practice was clean and modern, if anything they appear to have technology my own dentist hasn't. Ryan apparently had goggles that could check for signs of bacteria and I noticed another reviewer saying they had cameras and screens they could show you what they were looking at, which is a great idea. There is free and easy parking outside. This Dentist has me wondering why more dental practices aren't open 7 days a week and late nights? If you live in the West-End of Glasgow you're lucky to have this Dentists on your doorstep.
Fantastic experience: Been a patient since opening. As always, extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. The dental staff themselves are relaxing, reassuring and understanding. As someone with major 'dental fear' I've never felt uncomfortable here, and I genuinely feel more inclined to maintain my dental hygiene as a result. They are also amazingly flexible with appointments, with evening and weekend slots readily available!

Negative experience: First of all took odd payments from myself and wife for security deposits, then denied it later. Never added exemption so charged for X-rays. Then removed wisdom tooth that needed hospitalisation but didn’t want to know and denied it was there poor practice even though surgeon was appalled by the work. Had to subsequently book into a professional dentist. Absolute cowboys

Negative experience: Worst experience at a dentist in my life after the first appointment it all went down hill ,they told me that the treatment would take 2-3 weeks to start 7 and a half weeks later they finally got in contact with me after me phoning and going in to the practice several times they would say they would get back to me then not bother when they finally did get in contact with me they said they could fit me in for a check up in another 3 weeks time an absolute joke of a practice as they already new the treatment I needed so if you want an appointment you will have to be prepared to wait 10 and a half weeks for one ,I would also like to add that I was a paying customer and would have paid the money upfront I don't know why they couldn't start my treatment earlier and at the very least inform me why they couldn't start it let down is an understatement I asked the receptionist if I could speak to a dentist but another lie I got as they said they would and still waiting

I would first like to apologise for this understandably frustrating situation. I share your disappointment in how your dental treatment has been delayed for so long. I do not want to go into the details of the case but I feel you do deserve a better explanation as to how this situation has arisen. As an NHS dental practice there are rules we must follow in order to comply with regulations. One of these rules is that in some cases we must seek approval from the health board before we can carry out NHS dental treatment. Even if the patient pays for treatment we must comply with this rule or we could lose our licence to practice. Waiting times to receive approval vary but can be in excess of 2 months.
I believe our failure in this instance has been poor communication with you on this matter. I would like to discuss this issue with you personally so that I can answer any questions you may have.

After being with my dentist from a young age who then retired I was nervous to trust another dentist, but I have been very happy with these guys, they have exceeded my expectations.
Fantastic experience: Very pleasant, up to date dentists. Does not have the look or feel of a dentists so would be very good for people who have fears. The dentist was very thorough and I am looking forward to starting orthodontic treatment.

Fantastic experience: Having recently moved to the area with my young daughter, it has been so nice to find Buttercup 7 Day Dental and not have to look any further. You're made to feel immediately welcome by the lovely reception girls, whether speaking on the phone, by email or in person & in fact all the staff are friendly. Angela is fantastic, always puts me at ease regardless of what is happening, and even managed to get my 2 year old to open her mouth for long enough to examine her teeth which I was amazed at!! I have been recommending Buttercup to everyone and never want to go to anyone else.

Negative experience: Wish I could give zero stars! Made a online appointment to be told you made a short term cancellation (that's within 48 hours although you can book an appointment within 4 hours) and the only reason we approved your appointment was that you changed your telephone number!! Wrong I've had the same telephone number for the last 5 years!! . Therefore you will only be seen as a new customer and won't be given treatment regardless of how problematic it is. Easy decision to go to another dentist and pay for private treatment. It's ridiculous to see they have a nervous patient section when they clearly only interested in profit margins. Horrid customer service and glad to be with an established West end dentist ... please stay clear

Fantastic experience: Never been to a dentist who showed so much care while working on your teeth. You feel so relaxed as you are asked how you are every so often and he stops for rests. Great practice and would advise anyone to join it.
