I was nervous about having a dental injection, having never had one before and, as an old school dental nurse, knew they weren’t pleasant. Well oh my gosh! A bit of miracle gum numbing gel from Dr Tom & I didn’t feel a thing! Nothing at all! Not even a scratch! Marvellous! Tom, my dentist, and his lovely nurse were very supportive and aware of my needs throughout my filling and, all due care was taken in ensuring my tooth was perfect before I left. Highly professional. As though all this praise isn’t enough, it’s like a luxury hotel when you enter the building. Even the loo has lovely hand pump soaps and is meticulously clean! Welcoming reception team , lovely nurses and my experience as a new patient has been wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I phoned for an appointment after a crown fell out, I was more than happy to get an appointment for the following day, sadly the crown had fractured, but Tom was able to put a temporary one in until I am able to get the time to return for a more permanent solution. Everybody is so happy and helpful. First class!

Fantastic experience: Just had a filling excavated and redone by Ksenija which involved re-constructing probably about 80% of a tooth and down close to a nerve. You can't even tell the tooth is mostly fake now, it looks like a natural tooth - really excellent sculptural work. I was also anticipating some degree of pain/discomfort but even when the numbing wore off I haven't even had a twinge. Excellent job

His caring attitude and attention to the patients needs is quite remarkable. Andrew is so gentle even when giving injections, I have often fallen asleep during treatment, there is no one else I would want to take care of my teeth. Fantastic experience: Whilst on holiday in the area I needed an emergency appointment, and the Andrew Brown team were amazing. The ladies on reception were so helpful, especially when giving me directions over the phone. Luckily for me there had been a last minute cancellation and so the team were more than happy to see me before the bank holiday weekend. Tom, his assistant and trainee assistant were incredibly kind. I was in so much pain, and Tom took the time to x-ray and provide the most efficient solution, including the longer term treatment I would need to request back home. I’m so thankful for the team’s help, I’ve been able to enjoy the rest of my holiday pain free.

Fantastic experience: Whilst suffering a chronic toothache on holiday in Tavistock I was put in contact with the Dentist Andrew Brown. The receptionist was very helpful and understanding. She booked me an appointment within a couple of hours that day. The Dentist himself was very kind and made me feel tease knowing that I was very nervous and anxious. Fantastic experience: I new at the start that this was going to be a difficult and lengthy procedure/filling. Carys Lock was great and I had a pain free experience. Dentists these days need to be part sculptor, part chemist, part mechanic and part engineer. My experience was totally trouble and pain free and I am not the best of patients.

I was not made to feel I was a nuisance in needing extra care. Fantastic experience: Recently registered with this practice having relocated from Kent. Such a warm welcome. I’m in the very capable hands of Carys and Steph. I arrived in severe pain with a tooth in need of expert treatment and eventually a new crown. Carys has taken care of everything and explained every step of the process. I’ve previously been a nervous patient but somehow that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. These guys are so caring and professional and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Negative experience: The patient before me was delayed & arrived five minutes after me, leaving me to wait over thirty minutes to be seen!! Whilst Andrew was apologetic I feel it would have been prudent to see me first as my treatment took only ten minutes at most!!

Fantastic experience: I have recently been receiving treatment from Ksenija and I have been very pleased with the treatment she has given me. Particularly as I normally find dental treatment quite stressful, so I don’t imagine I am a very good patient! Everyone involved in my treatment has been extremely helpful and very kind. The ability to book an appointment on line is very helpful and when I needed emergency treatment I was seen very promptly. Fantastic experience: I'm a relatively new patient at the practice but have been very happy with the experience so far. Easy to get appointments, even a recent emergency to have a crown fitted. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the surgeries all seem to have advanced tech to they can show you what's actually the issue and not relying on my ability to interpret an x-ray! Favourite part was the numbing gel before the injection - where has that been all my life!

Negative experience: Never been in so much pain in my life having tooth extracted Tooth was infected. Painful even after 3 injections. The extraction was excruciating No given any anti biotic Told tgat if I came more regular it would not have decayed Charged £450 for the privilege

Fantastic experience: I visited Andrew Brown dentist today and had a very pleasant experience. The receptionist lady Daisy was really lovely and welcoming and was very informative on the phone leading up to my appointment (which was pushed forward). I am very anxious when it comes to the dentist however all staff there were absolutely amazing, they were calming and helped me to relax during my appointment and reassured me. Thank you so much. Although quite expensive, I think it was worth it for the pleasant experience.

Positive experience: I attended for an hygienist appointment with Alison who did an amazing job and to whom I would give 5 stars. But I only gave 4 because £135 for a 45 minute appointment is expensive and the reception process doesn't match either Aluson's standards or what I would expect from a high end service. I arrived on time, waited 10 minutes without anyone asking why I was there, so I approached one of the staff and then spent another 5 minutes completing a health questionnaire. Being greeted on arrival and pre-warned about the questionnaire would have got the extra star.

Fantastic experience: Relocating to Devon during the early weeks of the Covid lockdown led to my on-going dental treatment in Dorset being cancelled and transfer to a practice nearer my new home being delayed until I became a patient at Andrew Brown in May 2022. My overdue dental treatment of the past four months has included a detailed examination, a repaired filling, a new upper denture, two lower extractions and a replacement frontal bridge. Throughout, this extensive work has been carried out to the highest professional standards - excelling any that I have experienced previously. In particular, I am indebted to Dr Zimnikova and all her team for the caring awareness of a 90 year-old patient's disabilities. Alan Plummer

Negative experience: Not particularly impressed, no technical personal on board. Long wait for bridge etc to be returned by mail. Called back to surgery for unnecessary check ups. I would not recommend unless vastly improved

Negative experience: I had heard mixed reviews going into this practice so I was unsure frankly what to expect. I needed hygienest work done and was a new patient. The key issues are as follows: 1) the high cost of the cleaning and the new patient charge. I'm passing through so this is totally wasted, but to be fair this is a general gripe about dentists. What's not a general gripe is 2) quality of work done. I have had my teeth cleaned a lot over the years and to be honest it's mostly done outside of the UK where it is expected a dentist will provide this service. In the UK I have had some teeth cleaning conducted by hygienists and it's been fine. I have never had the poor quality of work I experienced at this practice. I was particular in saying I needed tartar removing. That was the sole purpose for the visit. I was instead given the following. A gum assessment, useless and time wasting as I was quite clear I'm passing through but I suppose this is part of a broader gripe. Still it did not sit well with me as this service in addition to a standard charge is also billed by the hour. General clean. Personally I would expect that where there is cleaning all, not some, staining was removed. But alas no I left with staining. But more egregious was the tartar removal. Yes some easy to remove tartar was removed, but when so much tartar is left because the job has not been done properly that I need to schedule another appointment elsewhere to do the job I paid for, then the level of service is to me unacceptable. I strongly got the impression that work done was simply to fill up the maximum billable time rather than actually doing work needed. I can't argue that it's a total waste of money, some cleaning was done. But the quality of work was so poor or cursory, choose your own word, it did not solve a very simple problem I paid to be solved. If my experience was representative I would not deal with this practice again.

Fantastic experience: After losing my front tooth veneer, I was unable to get an appointment anywhere due to not accepting new patients and was just about to lose hope until I came across this practice and decided to give them a ring. So I called and got an appointment that very same day! I was with Dr Zimnikova and I couldn’t believe how quickly and flawlessly she managed to fix the damage with no pain, my teeth look better than ever. Also all of the staff are so friendly and helpful, thank you for a pleasant experience at the dentist office, it made me feel confident right from the start that I was in good hands and would get nothing but the best from this dental team

Positive experience: For a private dental clinic, in my opinion, they are no different to NHS. They were not on time and the dentist I saw speaks with such a foreign accent that I struggled to understand her. She needs to use my name when asking me something, as I kept thinking she was speaking to her assistant and not directly to me. Also, when I initially approached them on then telephone, they did not warn me that there are three floors over which they operate and at no time did they ask me if I would prefer a ground floor treatment room. I am quite able bodied, but what if I were not? Sadly, I shall not be returning to this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Carys has been my wonderful dentist since we moved to Tavistock eighteen months ago. This week I made an emergency visit expecting to be told that I would finally have to be parted from a grumbling tooth that has previously suffered two bouts of root canal by other hands. Enter Carys, who in her usual cheerful, pragmatic way, promptly diagnosed that my pain was being caused by the tooth behind and could be treated by a preparation that she applied there and then followed up with a special paste that I could apply myself. Carys' and hygenist have provided patient, caring advice and treatment on every visit and I beleive that my teeth and gums are now better cared for than ever before. A big thank you to one and all.

Fantastic experience: After having a wisdom tooth removed by Carys I can honestly say I highly recommend the team at AB Dental. Carys and her nurse were extremely calming and reassuring and they quickly, smoothly and easily extracted my tooth. There was minimum fuss, bruising or bleeding and other than a slight soreness the next day, which is nothing unexpected, It's given me no issues at all. The post Op advice both from the team and in the handout pack was clear and concise and easy to follow. Overall I was in and out in less than half an hour which I was more than happy with.

Fantastic experience: I recently needed a crown which I understand should have been a fairly straightforward process however, through no fault of the practice, I had a number of problems including breaking two temporary crowns. Andrew kindly spoke to me over the phone on a Sunday on one occasion; I had to have a re-mold and, to top it all, he kindly came in on a day off to see me. The care I have received has been faultless and now, at least 6 appointments later (instead of the expected 2), I have my permanent crown. This practice is excellent, and the staff are always extremely friendly, professional and helpful.
