Fantastic experience: My experience with apex dental practice was very quick and on time.

Positive experience: The dentist and nurse were as always fabulous. Very understanding that I am a nervous patient . They both did their very best to put me at ease, which they did . Also remaining professional and taking x-rays and doing check up as needed. The receptionist I felt was not friendly ( which is not how I have ever had experienced with any of the other receptionist before) she didn’t smile and said I would not be entitled to the benefit that I was and always used. When I got home she rang me and said that I would not be entitled to this benefit and that she needed proof that I was ,and if not I would need to pay all the other times I had been in. I found this quite upsetting as I knew I was entitled to this! And she seemed to have an attitude.The next day I rang to give proof and spoke to another receptionist who was as always friendly saying there was no issue and apologised as I said I felt the other receptionist said it was urgent to get this and assured me that it was ok. This may not seem much but to someone with a social phobia it is a big deal.

Fantastic experience: I've just had a filling with the new dentist at the practice Mr Lochlan King. He's very professional, has a very kind and caring manner, i am very nervous and he made me feel totally at ease, an excellent dentist i highly recommend .

Fantastic experience: I had a general check up with Birgit today, she and her dental nurse were lovely as always. She checked my teeth thoroughly and asked if I had any issues and sorted out a problem I had, checking to see if I was happy with her work. Great dentist, all the staff are lovely.

Fantastic experience: A very nice comfortable dental practice. Hygenist and her assistant were friendly and professional. The premises are spotlessly clean. Initial check-in, using electronic tablets is time consuming. Too much information is required. Elderly and non I.T. techies have difficulties adding information.

Negative experience: Appointments cancelled over and over again, always last minute. As other reviews have mentioned, it seems impossible to have an NHS appointment here.

Negative experience: Very disappointed We joined Apex as new NHS patients when it opened up many years ago. We were always pretty happy with what we got and Alena was an excellent dentist and person who looked after us from the start. Then the decided NHS didn’t pay. Ok, regrettable but their decision. Our gripe is that rather than come clean they just started cancelling our appointments without reason and giving replacents months and months later. Only in the last year have they made their intentions clear to the remaining NHS patients who they failed to drive away. We had our final two appointments cancelled today. We hope they treat their new fee paying patients better than they have their loyal and longstanding NHS customers.

Negative experience: ‘Profit before people.’ Just saw countless negative reviews on social media. Had my first appointment and will not be going back. The online form was misleading re NHS discount versus private fee. The receptionist was cagey when asked about this. I was charged £10 more than originally quoted without apology. The new senior receptionist extremely rude, no basic manners. The young hygienist had sympathy, but spent half of the expensive (£113) appointment asking questions and doing a full check-up (detailed fillings exam etc) that I had NOT asked for. She did a tooth scrape, then claimed did not have time to do a polish, so leaving my front teeth totally unpolished. When I politely insisted on an adequate polish I got a firm : “there is not time now. You have to pay for an additional session or a bleaching”. (Whitening, expensive, ) She then found time to give me a 5 - 10 minute demonstration on self-dental-care on an acetate model , before I was allowed to leave!!! I was not thanked for my payment or custom at any point. I have no idea how this business is surviving while apparently that morally bankrupt.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with how NHS treatment has virtually stopped. Had previously always been happy with the treatment from Alena but this has now stopped. As other recent reviews have stated that NHS appointments with Alena have been cancelled at the very last minute. Obviously sickness is unavoidable but it appears that Private appointments are always possible but no longer NHS from 1st November. Our last check up was June 2024 and all check up appointments we had have been cancelled since with no option of a check up before the deadline of 1st November. Surely we should have been entitled to one last NHS appointment as it was not us who cancelled but the surgery. Have sent an email to Apex in Somerton but have not yet received any response. Very poor service and after being a patient for the past 12 years have chosen to go private elsewhere. Had our first check up today and more than happy with the service so will not be returning to Apex in Somerton.

Negative experience: Totally agree with what Martine has said . Cancelling appointments on the day with Alena . I have not been seen for nearly a year and a half . My last appointment being cancelled yet again on Tuesday! Have been with the practice for well over 20yrs , couldn't even get another appointment until March next year when going private with Alena . So I cancelled the lot and gone with another dentist , who could see me straight away !!

Negative experience: Absolute shambles. Consistently cancelling NHS appointments, literally the day you are due to attend. Always Alena is ill. Never ill with her private patients though. Suddenly you get a den plan offer from Alena as she is now private only from November the 1st. Absolutely disgusting, especially when so many of us are over due work at the NHS rate, many routine appointments, filling appointments have been cancelled within the last 18 months. Not to mention the last 3 years of my children's yearly checkups being cancelled. They way Apex have handled this is appalling and damn right mis leading. Forcing anyone to be private with what can only be described as a totally un reliable dentist. So like many others if I'm being forced to go private it will be elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dentist, I cannot praise Anna Wisniewska enough. From the moment I met her and her assistant I was reassured, treated with warmth and respect. It is quite an exception these days, dentists a lot of the time have unfortunately started to treat patients like cattle. Anna greeted me with a big smile, asked how I was and then asked about my teeth. She repaired the tooth and gave some solid advise. I am generally a nervous dental patient and I was reassured and calmed very quickly. Thank you so much. We look forward to seeing you again. Idris

Fantastic experience: I attended Apex Somerton Dental Practice today for a hygiene appointment with Michelle Burrows. I see Michelle every 3 - 4 months and feel that the treatment she gives me is worth every penny, and helps keep my own teeth for as long as possible. As always she was very professional but friendly and I was very satisfied with the treatment I received today.

She was really lovely and absolutely fantastic with my children, especially my nervous 3 year old who had not yet experienced the dentist. She gave both my children a very positive experience and we have an appointment with her again in 6 months. The reception staff were also lovely, chatty to not only myself but showed just as much care and interest to my children, giving them some colouring. Feeling very grateful to be registered with an NHS dentist again. Thank you.

Negative experience: Very poor experience at Apex Dental, Somerton. Multiple appointments failed to identify the real cause of my pain — something a dentist at another practice spotted immediately. I was left feeling let down by the standard of care and disappointed by the defensive response to my concerns. I won’t be going back, and I wouldn’t recommend them.
