Fantastic experience: Have been coming here since 1988 and am very happy with my experiences at this dentist over the years. Always friendly and accommodating. And the treatments that I had here years ago have lasted really well. Can’t ask for more from my dentist - hoping for more of the same in future.

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting this pratice for over forty years and have always received excellent serice. I was quite a nervous patient but Peter and his team always managed to allay my fears with their calm and friendly manner not to mention the excellent dentistry ! The hygenist is always very helpful and informative about how to keep my teeth in the best condition The reception staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough for those who want excellent service and a welcoming and friendly experience.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed – would give zero stars if possible. My husband paid £3,400 for four titanium teeth, which after much research should come with a 10-year to a lifetime guarantee. Just over three years later, one tooth fell out. When he contacted them, he was told there was only a 3-year warranty! To make matters worse, they quoted an additional £1,200 to fix it. My husband is a tiler, and if a tile he installed came loose after three years, he would be expected to put it right – why is this any different? Today, another tooth has fallen out, and a third is about to go. How is this acceptable?

Fantastic experience: 18 months ago I had some problems starting with a dental emergency due to a sudden painful abcess. My old dentist at the time could not - and would not !! - fit me in for a couple of days, so I called 32 Whites on a friend's recommendation. Peter made the effort to fit me in immediately on the same day (even though I was not a a patient of his !), and from then ensued a complex course of treatment which I needed - including a couple of root canal fillings, crowns and a dental implant. The service I experienced has been totally superb. Peter explained everything very clearly before and after each appointment. The surgery is very modern and spotlessly clean. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Text message reminders are sent a few days before each appoint (if you want them), and on one occasion when Peter was running slightly late, I even had a phone call to tell me it would be OK to go in a bit later to save me waiting ! I cannot fault this practice is any way, and I highly recommend it ! Even though it's a 30 minute drive from where I live I intend staying now that my treatment is complete. You could not expect better from a dental service. Adrian, Cheadle Hulme I wrote that above about 10 years ago, and my comments still hold: I've been with 32 Whites including a couple of major treatments ever since, and never had anything other than prompt, expert and friendly service from everyone !

Fantastic experience: I recently underwent a complicated dental procedure. During this time I interacted with the whole team, including dentists the hygienist and receptionists. I found everyone to be really friendly, with all of my care clearly explained. The care that I received from the whole team was truly exceptional. I would definitely recommend 32 Whites!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t enjoy having work done, but I know I am in kind and capable hands here. The reception staff, my hygienist and my dentist are all extremely experienced and very good at putting me at ease. Peter, my dentist, guides me through the whole process so I know what I am getting and why I’m getting it. Highly recommend!

I have seen Peter for many years and always found him to be friendly, efficient and willing to discuss my ongoing dental care when I have questions. Even at check ups he makes a point of reviewing my history and asking about any problems. The reception staff are knowledgeable and take time to get to know each patient. It makes a real difference.

Positive experience: I have been using this dentist for many years and always been very happy but unfortunately my most recent experience with the dentist standing in for Peter was simply unpleasant. Very brusque and disinterested. I have decided to move to another practice albeit I have also moved house which is much further away making it impractical but this last visit helped me make up my mind to leave. Please remember your patient is your income and should not be treated with disdain. I have given 3 stars purely because of my previous experience of Peter who was a very good dentist and Susan the hygienist is the best hygienist I've ever had being so friendly, competent and caring and also for Denise on reception which is a role often overlooked. Denise has always been so friendly and helpful and always smiling which for me is equally as important as the dental staff.

Negative experience: Had my first appointment at 32 whites today as a new customer . John mantle performed my check up . He was abrupt , heavy handed and clearly had no interest in my history . I asked if he needed to know anything about the issues I was having , he said not really just open your mouth ( exact words) . I have an issue with my bottom teeth being sensitive and I mentioned this several times , he was dismissive of this and said everything was in order . After I pushed the point he told me to get back in the chair for another X-ray ( I’d already had 2 ) he bought up the new X-ray and promptly told me it would cost. £928 to sort , no real explanation of what was needed . I was clearly becoming and annoyance for him . He went from saying everything is fine to then saying I need £900 of work in less 5 mins . He was heavy handed and hurt me . It was an awful experience. BTW the reception staff and Hygienist are really good . That part of it was ok .

Negative experience: My mother had a terrible experience with Mr John Mantle. I’m writing this review as she won’t be able to. Firstly, my mum told the dentist she was allergic to penicillin and he gave her Amoxicillin. Luckily, she works at a GP practice and questioned this medication before taking it. She was unable to take it and had to drive back to the practice to switch the medication which took hours. When you’re in huge amounts of pain, it’s often you take the medication straight away which could have put her in a terrible position. More care and attention here is needed. My mum was in a lot of pain for a few days before the appointment and noted that the manner of the dentist was abrupt and dismissive. It seemed he didn’t explain the issue causing the pain after the X-ray and was very unhelpful. This is very disheartening when you are paying good money for the treatment. This is unfortunate to write as my mum has been a patient of the practice for many years, seeing Peter mostly who is currently off, but was really disappointed with care and attention given. So much so, she booked an emergency appointment at a different clinic the following day as the pain has worsened but did not want to go back to 32 whites.

Fantastic experience: Follow up review visit post root filling. Just to check no issues and see all ok. X ray taken and no problems found, notably a no charge visit done as part of duty of care.

Fantastic experience: This dentist is amazing. I have a huge fear of the dentist and need extensive work. I was so embarrassed about seeing the dentist as I'd not been for so long but was immediately put at ease. The reception staff are so lovely and polite. The dentist explains everything to you and you're given a treatment plan so you understand everything that's going on. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Well, what can I say? After having had so many bad experiences with dentists over the years which resulted in my fear of going I finally discovered 32 whites in Marple. From the moment I walked in, very unsure, I was met with two lovely ladies, Denise and Louise both who made me feel very welcome and at ease. They both chatted to me to the point that I almost forgot where I was. I explained that I was ‘nervous’ and immediately they said you need to see Peter and that he would help me. My journey started there. Peter recognised my anxiety straight away, was sympathetic and professional and explained to me everything I needed to have done and made a plan to go forward. I now felt confident with Peter that my fears started to subside. I trusted him and then underwent some intrusive surgery by Ian who again was very reassuring and caring and follow ups by John again I felt reassured. Each of you have so much knowledge and technique it’s amazing. So a massive Thankyou to you all for everything, for everything you did, in all the parts that you played in restoring my faith in Dentists - not to be scared anymore and for doing what you do best. Message to anyone reading this and you’re nervous and apprehensive just nip in and see the ladies on reception, Denise and Louise and have that chat - you will have taken that first step that I did and you won’t regret it. Positive experience: A highly professional and experienced team of people who always put their patients first. The receptionists are always friendly and greet patients by their fitst name. The practice has recently been upgraded to provide more clinical space. Peter Mantel is the most experienced dentist I've ever known and has a wonderful 'bedside manner'. I assume 32 Whites does predominantlly private work and as with most things in life you get what you pay for - dentistry is no exception!

Fantastic experience: I'm terrified of the dentist! My previous experiences have been so poor that I haven't stepped foot in one for nearly 20 years now. I'd walked past 32 Whites multiple times and so I finally plucked up the courage to book an appointment. The whole process, with Peter and the team, was exceptional. There was even a slight delay for me to be seen and Peter came out to personally apologise to me. From the lovely receptionists, who kept checking I was okay, to the rest of the team, I want to say thank you so very much. 5 stars just isn't enough.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend 32 Whites enough, everyone is very welcoming and friendly, and the experience is totally personal. My dentist, Peter, has done fantastic work both calming me down and fixing my teeth having been using Locums previously. Overall they've got great quality of work, and are well worth every penny spent.

Fantastic experience: Thanks Peter and Miles for a completely painless, trouble free big molar extraction and perfect aftercare advice.  Even the lignocaine injections didn't hurt! Stopped painkillers after 2 days. I think this is my 25th year with 32 Whites so why not mark it with probably my biggest piece of dental work yet! The other one was my two beautiful front crowns by Peter, after my horse nudged me in mid-slurp from my tea mug and cracked my front tooth, and both teeth started rotating inwards making me look as though I had a gap. Thanks Peter for looking after my teeth so brilliantly for so many years, ever since that first visit where you said "that needs root canal work" and I promptly burst into tears. I'm a lot braver now, thanks to your care. Please never retire! Top extraction aftercare tips: take all the drugs, mouthwash regularly, don't eat beetroot when you're worrying about losing your blood clot!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Peter and the team enough! I travelled around 50 miles to come here just becuse they'd been so highly recommended and I wasn't disappinted. I had my teeth whitened and 2 teeth composite bonded. I'd been concious of my teeth for years but I can't believe the difference this has made. Peter is a perfectionist and took his time. Very reasonably priced and very accommodating with appointments, fitting me in in time for my wedding! thank you :)

Fantastic experience: When the Mantel Dental Practice as it then was moved out of Manchester some years ago we opted to go to Marple in order to stay with them because, quite simply, they are the best!

Fantastic experience: When I was a young person (still am), I had a bad experience at a dentist and this affected my confidence. 32 Whites have changed the way I think about dentists by helping me to gain back my confidence and by providing an excellent service whilst I was having major work done to my teeth. I had to have four teeth taken out and a bridge fitted after making sure my gums had fully recovered. Dr Peter Mantel guided me through the different stages of treatment and clearly explained what was needed to be done to sort out the problems with my teeth. He was honest about the options available and about the costs involved. The way he came across showed he had a vast amount of experience/skills to do a professional job. There is a great team of people at 32 Whites who take pride in doing a brilliant job every day.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service, paid £60 for them to tell me absolutely nothing and that I need to go back for more test
