Fantastic experience: Dr Akash is amazing! I had an extraction of a large molar which was carried out by Dr Akash who made the experience very comfortable! He is an outstanding dentist who makes you at ease and talks you through each step of the way! I can’t thank him enough!!!

Fantastic experience: Went today which I thought was a filling fallen out..apparently my tooth was in two halves! My dentist is lovely...she knows how anxious I am and put me at ease whilst she promptly and professiinally took my tooth out.

Fantastic experience: Like most people, I get quite nervous attending the dentist. I recently moved to this one in January and I’m really happy I did. I’m not nervous about returning for treatment. Akash is so patient and helped put me at ease. All the reception staff & dental nurses are really happy and polite too.

Always talks us through what is happening at the time and always offers good advice after treatment . Can’t fault this dentist at all. Fantastic experience: The receptionists are always very helpful and friendly. Dr.Akash Thota has dealt with two problems that I have had this year. On each occasion he has been very helpful,friendly and efficient.He has explained what was wrong and the options available in a very clear way and I was easily able to make my choices because of this. He has explained the procedures every step of the way and carried them out in an exemplary manner. I would like to thank the practice and Dr.Thota very much for everything.

Negative experience: Had a small crack in my tooth, so the dentist drilled out a hole and said it needs a filling, the filling that was put in came out, so I had it all done again, then they left a gap at the back so food kept getting stuck in there, so I had to have it out and done for a 3rd time, which has now come out again, I’ve requested my money back to get it done elsewhere rather than have the same filling done a 4th time, but not an experience I recommend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Efficient and take care when doing your treatment. I had an awkward filling on one of my back teeth, Akash took great care to ensure I was comfortable during the procedure.

Positive experience: I’ve been a pt here for many years and due to menopause I have had real issues with my teeth. Mr Thota has criticised me refusing to help me and sent me to New Cross for extraction after extraction. I have left in tears numerous times. I didn’t leave as nhs dentists are impossible to find. I have now seen Akash his son and my experience was amazing. Kind, professional and understanding. Honestly, Thankyou Akash. Also the blonde receptionist is lovely x

Negative experience: Its a waste of times having check ups here as Mr. Thota never identifies problems. During one visit I specifically pointed out concerns with my front tooth which had become very sensitive and giving pain, which he waved away saying, "its fine." Within six months I woke up one morning in agony and suffering from infection, which took two courses of anti biotics to clear. This put me in a situation where I needed a root canal, and they even refused to carry out the procedure on NHS treatment, and expected me to pay full price on their private practice side! On another occasion I had to make an emergency appointment after I broke a tooth. I was surprised during what I thought was an inspection that he had simply shoved some cement into the tooth, without cleaning or anything, all without any advice on what he was doing, or allowing me to give consent. A few weeks later, with us all now suffering lockdowns due to covid, I again woke up in agony with another infection. This time I lost the tooth. This dentist and its shocking negligence has cost me hundreds of pounds, one of my teeth, and caused me to suffer in pain. Absolutely baffled by the five star reviews. I should have taken legal action against this absolute charlatan.

Fantastic experience: I have been registered at this practice for 6 months now and had a fair bit of treatment here. Akash is brilliant really professional, friendly and knows his stuff. He made recommendations and the treatment has been great. Highly recommend this surgery and Akash.

Negative experience: Rude reception staff and very unhelpful. Declined an appointment in 3 weeks time to see if I could find one sooner elsewhere, as I have a filling missing, phoned back 20 mins later as couldn't find one sooner to be told I'd been taken off the books and even though they are taking on new nhs patients they wouldn't be letting me rejoin the practise.

Fantastic experience: Following a traumatic time having some lower teeth extracted for a denture at another dental surgery. My appointment today to have the same done for the upper teeth at Coven Dental Surgery could not of been more different. The appointment including extraction, x rays and the fitting of a denture was brilliant. All was finished in under 30 minutes including a difficult extraction on a cracked tooth. I could not praise the dentist enough, very professional and I would have to say, pain free, just superb. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to this dentist now for about 20 years and I've always found the staff really helpful and the dentists lovely. My dentist left the surgery a couple of years ago and since then I've seen three different dentists at Coven Village Surgery who were all brilliant. They all seemed to really care about what the best course of treatment was for me and made me feel confident in that treatment.

Positive experience: One of the most professional dentist I have been seen by, all the staff are friendly and welcoming when you arrive. I was so worried about having the the work done, I was put at ease and everything was explained to me. I now have no worries about going there for my future appointments.

Fantastic experience: Lovely dentists, friendly staff and amazing dentist. The best I’ve ever seen in Wolverhampton and I’ve lived here my whole life. My dentist closed down recently, so I had to find a new one which was a bit of a nightmare as so many aren’t taking new patients. From my very first appointment the dentist was so kind and thorough with his examination and questions in order to help me. He gave me help and advice about brushing and flossing at home that no dentist has ever told me in my life before. The treatment was great, very gentle and informative. I feel like he really cares so much about giving you free advice and tips that you can do at home, than anyone I’ve seen before. I feel so much better about the future of my teeth now, before I went there I thought the situation was hopeless and was dreading going. I also feel very grateful because if I hadn’t come to this dentists and kindly been educated I might have carried on making mistakes with my teeth and ruined them even more.

Negative experience: When I enquired why my husband had to pay £45 to see an hygienist, when we had paid for band 3 treatment which covers a scale and polish, the dentist was very argumentative about this, refusing to accept this treatment was part of NHS treatment. In the end he said he was taking us of the register. This suits me fine, after reading all the negative reviews, I had no intention of ever using this dentist against anyway. Edit : I will respond to the dentists response to my review. Just because you accepted my husband as a patient, that doesn’t give you the right to charge extra for a service we had already paid for. You did refund the band 1 payment we had made, but only when I dared question it, and as you instructed your receptionists to refund this, you did so with totally disrespect. In other words you didn’t like be held to account and basically told us never to return!

Negative experience: Do not use this dentist. At my last appointment, I was in the chair for under 4 minutes and was told everything was fine - they didn’t even do X-rays, despite the fact I have a known, serious jaw condition. I then went to a different dentist who identified several very serious issues (that had taken years to form) that were completely missed by Coven, leading to me needing extensive treatment. To quote my new dentist “anyone who has spent more than 10 minutes at dental school should have picked this up and treated you urgently”.

Negative experience: My husband had treatment here and they charged him as a private patient and didn’t inform him. As he trusted them he didn’t question it until he told me what they had done. Rang and complained but they said they advised him!! Total lie. Dentist total rubbish I went for check up as I was in discomfort with a chipped tooth. Just prodded it and said it was fine and told me to see hygienist. Avoid at all costs.
