Fantastic experience: Brilliant dental practice. Highly recommend. The staff at reception are so friendly; polite, professional but warm; very helpful and accommodating; nothing is a bother; as first impressions go, a credit to the practice. I always say attitude comes from the top and this is true as the same friendly, warm attitude is extended to all the staff; dentists and hygienist including their assistants. I had an emergency infection last week, again, nothing was too much trouble. Saw Ross the same day and got the necessary check up, x ray and anti biotics. Was there again yesterday re a treatment plan with Omar (implant specialist); again, just great. Gentle on the oral inspection, professional, informative, state of the art 3d xrays; friendly and relatable and very thorough in details. Relaxed atmosphere yet absolutey 100% professional consultation. Without exception the best dental practice I've attended and I've been to a lot over the years!

Positive experience: The dentists have been great — friendly, professional, and able to accommodate appointments when needed. I'm giving 4 stars because I was disappointed to see the monthly cost of the annual plan increase within the first year of signing up. It's already a fairly expensive plan, so the unexpected price hike didn’t sit well. What’s more, the Shawlands branch still has the old (lower) prices displayed inside, which I assume is just an oversight, but it does send a mixed message

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment at Shawlands Dental Practice recently and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. As a new patient, I was made to feel welcome right away—the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere was calm and professional. The dentist took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable throughout. I really appreciated how thorough the check-up was, and how they took a genuine interest in my dental health without making anything feel rushed or clinical. The practice itself is clean, modern, and well-organised, which gave me a lot of confidence in the care I was receiving. A lot to be said that Ahmed also liked to chat rugby too!

Fantastic experience: Big thank you to Dr Khweir for stepping in and taking care of my daughter Kate after a nasty accident. On top of the accident, the care from her previous dentist and the dental hospital was seriously lacking. Thank goodness we found him as he saved her two front teeth and our sanity. Professional, kind, available and he went above and beyond to take care of her. Kate felt safe and reassured to have him looking out for her. So grateful...absolutely brilliant during a difficult time. I would absolutely recommend Dr Khweir and the team who were so helpful too. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Dr. Afiyah Khan! She recently replaced four of my fillings, and the entire process was smooth, professional, and completely pain-free. She explained everything clearly, made me feel at ease, and her attention to detail is incredible. You can really tell she cares about her patients and takes pride in her work. My Dentist (Shazia) was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain my treatment options clearly. Their attention to detail and gentle approach made me feel completely at ease. Negative experience: POOR service and attitude from this dental clinic. Very rarly go to the dentist unless in dire pain. Lost 3 teeth in a mountain bike crash called up as an emergency to be told I will have an appointment more than a week later told the young girl on phone that it's not acceptable I needed treatment ASAP. Nothing she could do. Ended call.. used 111 NHS clinic in town. Call up today with tooth ache to be told I've had missed appointments that I have had no ideal about. Seems they book you in with out notifying the customer. I was told there was fees for missed appointment. Well sorry I'm not paying a premium for things I've not been included in. Time to find and ... fund a new dentist. No good will gesture or fees removed so they can keep the fee on accounts till end of time. G1 clinic is more welcoming and has a much better standard of communication prices for implants which i need 5x of are similar all over why spend £5000 here when the managers don't deserve the custom. Flashy on the outside, an incoherent service from the retail staff and manageress. Sorry but not for me, maybe others will bleed money for false appointments. I do not trust this clinics unethical procedures. This isn't a dental clinic you can depend on as this is the second time I feel neglected and now abused on top. I'm not even an HNS customer, I pay full prices. Reflection on management. The dental care I only received once previously was great you just have to overcome or pass the " karenesque" Update regarding the clinics contact request. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE. I'm sorry but that was strike 2 for poor service before even seeing a dentist. Take this as the reflection of what customers are willing to tolerate with clinic management.

Fantastic experience: Highly Recommend Hygiene Appointment Before Braces!!! We had a fantastic experience at Shawlands Dental Care! My teenage daughter had a 30-minute hygiene appointment with hygienist therapist Rory before getting her braces fitted, and I believe this was the best decision we made. Rory was incredibly gentle during the cleaning, which made my daughter feel relaxed. What really stood out was how patiently and thoroughly he explained the proper brushing technique, especially since she had some areas with bleeding gums. His clear guidance really helped her understand how to take better care of her teeth and gums — which is so important before starting orthodontic treatment. I highly recommend having a hygiene session like this before getting braces. It sets the foundation for good oral health and helps kids feel confident about their routine.

Fantastic experience: I've been using Shawlands Dental care for over 10 years since my last dentist sold out to a chain (!!), I tried a few different dentists in the surrounding area (just due to the fact that they were closer to my address) and Shawlands are by far the most professional, I trust them to provide the best dental care for myself and four children, they have successfully referred two of my children for braces and after treatment they both have beautiful straight teeth, and I've had the experience of the planning an Implant with Omar which is going seamlessly and I know the end result will be fabulous. I have had the misfortune to have terrible toothache over the last year and they were a godsend to ending the pain and coming up with a fast treatment plan. I can fully recommend this dental practice. The Dentists all put you at ease and are very good with children and the reception staff are very helpful and friendly, you won't regret putting your smile in their care.

Positive experience: I love this practice. Our family has been there for over ten years now, and weve seen it go from strength to strength. All staff without exception are helpful, friendly and adaptable. My daughter has an extreme needle phobia and she came in for an extraction yesterday as part of her orthodontic treatment. The dentist was so lovely and talked through all the options with her with humility, respect and compassion. Although my daughter is still too scared to have the procedure done, she’s much more likely to try it now than she was before, even if she has to wait a few years. Thank you so much Lauren you were really great!

Negative experience: I attended for my yearly check up and was told I needed 4 fillings, and as I had previously had white composite fillings assumed I would have the same and was quoted £800 for this, along with a £70 hygienist appointment for a scale and polish! 2 of the fillings this dentist wanted to replace were only done 2.5 years beforehand at this very dental surgery. I take good care of my teeth and couldn't believe I needed so many new fillings, I was so upset. I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist from another dental surgery, and was told I didn't need any fillings! And my total bill for x-rays and a and polish cost £32! I find this dental surgery has become more about making money rather than patient centred care.

Negative experience: These dentists are crooks. They said I needed 4 fillings that I didn’t need. I subsequently went to an NHS dentist where they said my teeth were fine. I was supposed to be referred to the dental hospital by Shawlands dental to have a wisdom tooth removed and after months of waiting, I found out that they hadn’t even put me on the referral list, even though they had been taking money from me monthly for their services. The dentist I had was constantly telling off the dental nurse while I was at my appointment, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. When I recently spoke to a friend about this dentist they had also been told they needed fillings that they didn’t need. Don’t trust the 5 star reviews.

Fantastic experience: I recently attended for a check up following a five year gap since my previous visit to the dentist. Fearing the worst after such a long time, I was reassured by the professionalism and care of the team from the staff at the desk to the dentists themselves. I returned several weeks later for an appointment with the hygienist and was highly impressed with the treatment I received. Strongly recommended.

Fantastic experience: It was time to attend for my 6mthly checkup with Lauren supported by her lovely team. I'm not the easiest of patients to work with. However despite the challenges I bring to the practice Lauren adapted what she needed to do for me and kept me comfortable and relaxed whilst she took X-rays & checked my mouth. The whole process was very comfortable and I was able to ask questions about my use of interdental brushes. I felt looked after and want to say a big thank you to Lauren her team and the friendly reception staff for looking after me

For anyone who is slightly wary about visiting the Dentist, the place could not be any less intimidating. Everyone clearly enjoys working there as part of a bigger team. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Shawlands Dental Care for just over three years now and it’s the first place where I actually look forward to my appointments. Even though I’ve always kept up with regular dental visits, this practice really stands out, especially with how welcoming and friendly everyone is. Lauren is amazing! I always leave feeling confident that my teeth and mouth are clean and healthy. She takes the time to really get to know your teeth (what bothers you/what you’d like to improve) and even remembers personal things you’ve mentioned in the past, like asking how your recent holiday went or questions related to work/family. It makes such a difference! When it was advised to get a wisdom tooth extraction, Lauren didn’t pressure me at all and I’m so glad I went ahead with it. She made the whole thing feel like a breeze and my recovery has been smooth, following her instructions. As someone who is particularly sensitive to anything involving needles, I didn’t once feel anxious. Also, a shoutout to the reception staff—they’re all so lovely and no question ever feels silly with them!

Negative experience: Really disappointed with the service and recent experience, i have since joined another local practice where i have received great care. My back tooth cracked and was advised that it would need to be extracted. When taken into a room to discuss the treatment plan with their sales person, I was told that my dentist was unable to carry out this procedure (a dentist cannot remove a tooth!?) and it would need to be carried out privately. I said I’d like to see a quote for an implant and was charged £150 for the pleasure of the quote. For the extraction and implant I was quoted £4000! I asked if there was a cheaper alternative and told if I opt for a bridge it would be £3000 but advised ‘what is a grand - may as well go for the implant for sake of a thousand pounds’ and ‘my manager gets annoyed at me as I try to save people so much money’. I asked multiple times for an NHS option and told this wasn’t possible - and given no real reason for this. They then told me my tooth was infected and pushed to book an appointment for this extraction for £450 and had to leave a £200 deposit. After doing some research I found that you can indeed get this tooth extracted and a bridge put in under the NHS. I called and emailed the practice to ask for my deposit back and that I would go elsewhere for my treatment. The sales person then called me back to say they just checked with my dentist and she can carry out the work under NHS after all - Then sent a new quote for roughly £400!! I felt so much pressure to go along with the private option and was the stress I felt thinking this was going to cost £4k. Horrible service and literally a money making scheme - no duty of care at all. The other local practice I joined is so great with lovely staff and will carry out all the work needed under NHS for just over £300. I have seen that the response on the negative reviews is ‘can’t see you on our system’ - true, I left. But I can assure that I was a member here for over 5 years. They also bribe patents to leave 5* reviews in return for free interdental brushes. My partner also received similar poor service.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience, my teeth haven't been as healthy in years. The plans are affordable and the dentists and assistants are professional, friendly, and good at their jobs. Also, the surgery is spotless. Two thumbs up!

Fantastic experience: A trip to see Dr Campbell is always a hoot. Exceptionally professional, caring, compassionate and what a job he does! Been with Neil for over 30 years and it's that way because I trust him. Extensive dental work, restoration and rejuvenating treatments, all under the one roof. And most importantly, it is always good fun, irrespective of the treatment. My whole family is now looked after by Dr Campbell, providing the highest quality of care.

Fantastic experience: A really professional service. Have been going for several years. Convenient ground floor location with good access. Friendly, competent staff. Responsive to my feedback that I didn't want phone calls to move my appointments to fill in diary gaps. Be aware that when you pay for treatment in advance, the price may still go up before you get it! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service. No complaints whatsoever. Only slight observation is contact made to myself that earlier appointments might be available, but when call made was told that lab results would not be available until my original appointment date. Not a major issue. I Understand that any opportunity to fill appointment gaps should be followed up. Keep it up.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dental and hygiene care every time I visit. The dentist took the time to explain procedures carefully. The practice is very clean and all of the staff are friendly. They offer affordable monthly plans which I have just signed up to, to receive regular check ups and hygiene appointments.

Fantastic experience: I joined this dentist in lockdown and currently pay the monthly plan which I think is great value for money. since using the hygienist service I have seen a huge improvement in the cleanliness of my teeth. I've had various fillings, root canal and a crown put in over the years and the service is excellent. I feel very safe with my dentist and their assistants. They take the time to explain the process to me in a way I understand and I've never had any problems with work they have done.

Fantastic experience: The practice seems to be very well staffed by some of the most pleasant people I have encountered, particularly the receptionists. I was called on time and the procedure was faultless. I was only there for a ct scan, but other practices could learn from this one- a class act

Fantastic experience: Professional, friendly, and efficient service from staff, dentist, and hygienist. You have to pay up front but I think it would be better to pay after full treatment is completed. I paid up front for hygienist but then while in the chair agreed to some extra work with additional cost. I actually had to inform the reception of this myself before leaving.

Fantastic experience: Bright clean premises, very friendly and professional staff and accommodating with suitable appointments. Ross is very amenable and professional. My only small complaint is that prices were not explained clearly when booking for extras such as hygienist etc. Overall we are really pleased with Shawlands dental care.

Fantastic experience: Hannah at reception is always there with a smile and happy to help. I was in hospital recently and she made every effort to change appointments and accommodate me. Ross Pencovich (dentist) is lovely and down to earth and has a reassuring and friendly manner. He also answers all my silly questions!
