I hated having a split tooth removed, but despite it splintering he got everything out cleanly with minimal bruising. Google offers the option to Add photos. No one needs to see that!

Fantastic experience: Had another good visit to Richmond house dental practice this morning. The dentist Paulina is extremely efficient and polite plus answers any questions you may have regarding future treatments. No pressure to have anything (cosmetic) done but there is a 10 month payment plan if need be. Staff also pleasant and booking my next appointment was easy to do. Many thanks from Heather MH.

Negative experience: I recently visited MyDentist for a general check-up following a course of antibiotics a few weeks prior. My appointment was with Ignas Maskelis, and the experience was distressing from start to finish. Ignas began a general check up and proceeded to mutter to himself that a filling I had was ‘horrible, and a very very bad choice’. This caused me immediate anxiety and I asked him to clarify what he meant by those words. He told me it was a bad choice of material and it wouldn’t last, to which I responded that I received that filling around 7 years ago. I feel his remarks were unprofessional and overly critical to make in-front of a patient. As part of the check-up, he proceeded to take X-rays, which I had understood were included in the £58 appointment fee. I was not informed otherwise. Upon reviewing the X-rays, Ignas told me I needed 5 fillings, a root canal, and a crown—news that came as a complete shock, especially considering that during a visit to the same practice just 4 weeks earlier, I had no fillings required and concerning the root canal suggestion, I had no been in constant pain for weeks! When I expressed my confusion, he responded that my “infection will come back with a vengeance.” Again, I felt this was unprofessional. At this point, I was visibly upset. Ignas went on to say that the backs of my four front teeth weren’t smooth and would likely need future treatment. He remarked that “any dentist will look at your scans and say ‘drill, drill, drill,’” a comment I found both unprofessional and upsetting in its tone. He then printed a consent form for root canal treatment, along with a cost breakdown for all recommended procedures, totaling £2,332.00. As a 21-year-old girl, and a university student, I was overwhelmed and distressed. I began crying in the chair, feeling terrified about the condition of my teeth and helpless about being unable to afford the suggested treatment. His response was simply, “Well, it’s your choice.” To add to the experience, I was later charged an additional £8 for an extra X-ray that I had not been informed would incur a separate fee—had I known, I would have declined it. In summary, I found Ignas to be unprofessional in both conduct and communication. His approach, tone, and lack of empathy made for a highly upsetting experience that left me feeling anxious and unsupported. I will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: Nice man, quick and to the point. Previously had half a tooth remade, it's still going strong nearly a decade later and is indistinguishable from a real tooth.

Fantastic experience: After chipping my tooth I was worried I was going to have a very expensive bill and be left with a hole. I also have never had an injection in my mouth and was thrilled I felt nothing. Paulina was great so something I dreaded wasn’t as bad as I thought and was dealt with professionally.

Fantastic experience: We have been with this practice for many years as nhs patients and have been extremely happy with the dentists and service. However when “my dentist” took them over we were forced to go private. Then, after a year or so they started offering nhs services again so being on a limited income we switched back. Now the sole nhs dentist has reduced her hours to one day per week and our appointments keep getting cancelled. My wife’s had to be rescheduled for 7 months time and who knows if that will be cancelled. I get the impression they are trying to force us back to private again! Very disappointing service. If we could find another nhs practice, we would leave. **Edit. 11/8/22. My October 2022 appointment has been cancelled and they cannot give me a new date, sometime next year apparently. Yet, passing the premises a few days ago there was a board outside advertising ‘appointments available today!’ Something is not right…….. **edit. 16/4/25. Well, I am now back to having my six monthly appointments on the nhs and the last three or four have gone without a hitch. Normal excellent service has been restored. My dentist Paulina is very good, I hope she stays at the practice and continues to provide nhs dentistry. I have amended the star rating to reflect the improvement.
