Negative experience: I am really disappointed with my experience with Beyond Dental and would not recommend for anyone who struggles with anxiety or nerves around going to the dentist. I felt incredibly patronised by the dentist I saw who obviously didn't understand the impact that a busy work schedule and stress can have on maintaining your dental hygiene. I was also given a sales pitch around the aesthetics of my teeth which honestly left me with so many insecurities around my smile. I was told I would need multiple fillings and extractions and after getting a second opinion, I was told that I do not currently need any fillings or extractions. I have seen other reviews that say similar things to me so I would advise that the dentists create a more non-judgemental approach to their patients and gather a better understanding of wider life factors that can impact people's ability to look after their teeth so their other patients do not feel judged and belittled.

Negative experience: Won't be returning. Just a huge sales pitch, they quote a ridiculous amount of money for work you don't even need. I've been to another dentist with a lot more experience since as I don't need half the work doing that they've said. They also told me all the fillings I've had need redoing which is offensive to other dentists and also not accurate because again I've had a second opinion (which also seems to be the case with a lot of other reviews). They also really try to push for google reviews before you even leave or have any dental work done which is unfair and not accurate. If you look at the other reviews its quite clear they've been written just after 1 check up

Negative experience: I had an emergency appointment with Beyond Dental and found them to be terrible at their job. I had a big abscess which was causing me pain and discomfort. I had paid for an emergency appointment that lasted exactly 7 minutes, 5 of which was me talking. Doctor spent approximately 45 seconds actually examining my tooth only to prescribe me antibiotics. No x-ray, no general check, no real recommendations except from come back (and pay more) for a proper check-in. I have been to a lot of dentists but this is by far the worst experience i have had. I would never come back and definitely would not recommend!

Positive experience: I really liked the dentist and the rest of the team but an issue with Steph. When I booked in I explained clearly that I wanted a specific treatment in time for an important event. But was on a budget I was given a treatment plan having seen the dentist and spent some time having scans and x rays and immediately signed onto their £45 per month plan she made a strange comment about seeing how good I was at paying and I felt demeaned. But brushed it off. I was told I would need 4 hygenist appointments and whitening before the composite and given a treatment plan and immediately booked a hygienist periodontal appointment for £99 but explained that I needed a composite for the event on 3rd March but could not afford to pay a £250 deposit immediately. I told them when I would and booked another inclusive dental hygienist appointment meanwhile. I run a film company and i explained that until I was funded things were very tight as we are 4 years into trading and i recently had a terrible experience with local MH services irrationally sectioning me on the basis of talking about writing and making films which they claimed was grandiose and psychotic ideation but refused to let me show them proof it was not - during the BFI film festival when we were supposed to be working on a film. I asked about finance on the composite and the periodontal work being the most urgent. She replied telling me that she, not the dentist, dentist was unhappy doing the composite first as the fillings were more urgent and tried to get me to go for a finance on a dental plan of several thousands of pounds worth of work. I am scheduled to work on 18 features and act in at least 3 of them several of which take place overseas but that is private and explained that I thought it would probably fail a credit check at this amount currently but that the event would lead to better prospects and i needed nice teeth for it just in case i got the opportunity to attend. She told me that if money was tight she was happy to. Cancel my plan and I said there was no need as I badly needed the composite and treatment. She then ran through about 3 or 4 excuses in order to do so. Some of which involved lies about me. She also called the emergency MH team to report concerns about me for asking who I should direct an official complaint to. I was left feeling discriminated against and let down and that a lot of time and money had been wasted on scans and X-rays she has not sent me to date and work I am having to repeat elsewhere. I would also like to put on record that at no point did I swear at either Steph or a member of her team as this was one of the claims she made. The rest of the team are delightful and the interior lovely and I have no complaints about the actual dentistry. I will not go into the personal and other consequences but Steph’s attitude to money reminded me of a character in one of my screenplay’s Madam Cyn’s Luncheon Voucher who works in a brothel humiliating people for a living. This was not what i expected of a dentist.I had visited to make my teeth look nice for an event that, had i attended, would have been life changing. I liked Steph on first meeting. But it’s a shame defamatory and seemingly vindictive attitude and malicious actions and what she assumed to be professionalism is also very far from what I am comfortable with. It is a great pity that the hard work of the team there was let down by someone either making false assumptions, or perhaps- who had listened to gossip, or been instructed to act in this baffling and unhelpful manner.
