Fantastic experience: Went in for an emergency appointment today and had a wisdom tooth out straight away! Was over the moon with how quick and easy the process was - all of the staff were excellent and I would highly recommend this practice. I will definitely be returning!

Positive experience: I recently left Westbury Smiles after being registered with them for 4 years. Whilst the level of dentistry care is excellent and professional, I felt that I was being frequently ripped off which caused me to eventually leave. Having taken my dentist’s advice to have a routine check up once a year, I had needed to reschedule my next check up appointment to a later date to suit my work shift pattern but had been given no warning that the new date was to take me over the 12 month mark since my last check up appointment. I was therefore later charged a penalty fee when I came to pay, which caught me out. I emailed Westbury Smiles soon after to query and was told that it was my responsibility to make sure my appointment didn’t lapse. For me, I felt it would’ve been nicer and an example of better customer service to have received a warning rather than to charge me extra when I wasn’t aware. In addition, I also needed to have my clear plastic retainers replaced and was quoted £500 for both arches by Westbury Smiles. After gathering quotes from other private dental practices, I decided to go elsewhere and paid a much more reasonable £250 for both arches. I would highly recommend Westbury Smiles for their dentistry work as I always received good care on my teeth, but not for their prices.

Negative experience: My 75 year old father received poor treatment here, both in terms of dentistry work and customer service. He has now been treated by a dentist who, although still private, cost a lot less than Smiles and confirmed that the work he received at Smiles was far less than adequate. My father was left in horrific pain from his treatment at Smiles and serious swelling. My father sent a complaint to the practice following the complaints procedure, however the mother of the dentists at the practice is their ‘complaints manager’ so therefore the complaint was not dealt with in an appropriate and unbiased way. The practice constantly try to delete my honest reviews by saying my father was not a patient and we can easily prove he was. Avoid this unprofessional dental practice at all costs!

Fantastic experience: A great family practice

Negative experience: They rang at an inconvenient moment to take payment ahead of my daughter's appointment last year. I was in work and asked them to call back and they didn't. I didn't think anymore of it, only to then receive an email confirming the cancellation of the appointment, which was abrupt and annoying. I didn't rebook the appointment. I rang in August to request an emergency appointment for my 6 yr daughter and was told that I had to pay £120 new patient fee because we hadn't come I the last 12 months. I was not willing to do this and it just really left a bad taste in my mouth. The owner of the practiced has called me this morning to pressure me to take down this review, which I might have considered doing until the conversation turned into an argument about why I'm wrong and she's right. It was a very weird and quite stressful interaction that I could have done without today, which has only reaffirmed my feelings.

Negative experience: I came to this dentist with half broken tooth as the priority. Although I had more stuff that needs to be done, my broken tooth didn't seems to be the priority for them and I was told that even if the dentist will try to fill it it may not last. Also I was told that I need to change my newly purchased toothbrush just because the doctor didn't recognise the name. It was Suri and I was told that I should be a new one. My feelings was that money were more important than my wellbeing and just because a doctor doesn't know the make of my toothbrush that isn't reason to be recommending to but new toothbrush. I went to another dentist and this new dentist saw my broken tooth as the priority and she did a new crown to fix my broken tooth. I went to Westbury dentist only for their's 4.9 starts. I did regret it very much.

Fantastic experience: I am not registered with the practise but called them yesterday about pain in my wisdom tooth. They gave me a next day emergency appointment with Julie. Julie was competent, professional and explained why the tooth could not be filled in, and would have to be extracted. Wisdom tooth extraction can be tricky but this was done very well. Highly recommend this practise!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Julie's for the last 18 months after avoiding the dentist for almost 10 years until an emergency forced me to seek help. From the first emergency appointment (2 hours after I called them) I have had fantastic service that I cannot fault. The team are friendly and welcoming and put me at ease. I'm not keen on dentists, or on having to spend so much money on my pesky teeth but I'm so glad I found Westbury Smiles. Julie and her team worked hard to get my pain removed quickly and for the last year they have been helping me to prevent further problems (apparently it really isn't too late to save what you've got left). She is the first dentist who can give me an injection that doesn't hurt and she is an excellent communicator so you always know what is happening. Prices are about what you'd expect for private care (there are more expensive out there) and they understand when treatment choices are dependant on which other bills are due. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone .

Fantastic experience: I recently had a root canal and had a crown inserted. I was nervous about the procedure being painful but there was absolutely no pain. Julie and her assistant were very professional and friendly and made me feel comfortable. I was in a lot of pain and had been let down by my previous dentist so I was really desperate for some help! Westbury Smiles were so reassuring and friendly right from the very first phone call, and were able to see me the same day. Julie and Holly have been fantastic through my various visits in the last few months and it's clear that they really care about their patients. Alongside clearing up my immediate problem, I was also really well supported in making the decision to book in my wisdom tooth extraction next month - a procedure I was scared about making after hearing a few horror stories! On a more practical note, the surgery is clean and modern, with great equipment. I would highly recommend Westbury Smiles - I wish I had moved dental practices much earlier!

Fantastic experience: I have had excellent dental care from Julie and the team at Westbury Smiles! From my first appointment just over a year ago, Julie has always been great at explaining diagnoses and potential treatment options. She has replaced several troublesome fillings and crowns. I have also had two implants fitted by consultant Scott Jones. I have been impressed by their use of up-to-date kit and techniques. It has been quite a long process working through the various procedures, but the improvement to the look of my front teeth has been amazing! I am very pleased with the results.

I had my crown fall out on Monday and they were so nice I had an appointment the same day the receptionist was very lovely and made me fill at ease.The dentist was very thorough with what was needed first they took pictures of my tooth to show me what needed doing and went through the cost so I knew what I was paying for straight away. I was only there for an hour for a tooth extraction but I was made to feel very comfortable and after a hour or so most of the pain had gone unlike my previous experience at another dentist. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who lives in Bristol by far the best dentist out there Thanks again.
