Welcome to mydentist, Railway Road, Blackburn. From teething toddlers to denture wearers, our practice caters for all. We provide high quality dental care offering the full range of NHS dental services. You will also find a great selection of cosmetic treatments which includes tooth whitening, short term orthodontics, private dentures and many more. We are currently taking part with an NHS campaign called 'Starting Well' which is based around prevention for children's oral health. We are based in a busy town centre with Blackburn Railway Station and Blackburn Bus Station just minutes away from the practice. Negative experience: Was given an emergency appointment here through the NHS. I struggled to get there as have mobility problems. Was asked if I needed a downstairs room. I said yes as I can't climb stairs. Was given a form to fill in in the waiting room which I didn't understand. They didnt tell me straightaway that there were no rooms downstairs. I was glared at by all the staff and other patients. When I was called I was told there were no rooms available downstairs and I couldn't be seen although the rooms looked empty downstairs.Then was told as it was an emergency appointment to come back tomorrow. That would make it a non urgent appointment. As I struggled to get there and have chronic fatigue syndrome and social anxiety disorder and can hardly walk and rely on a stairlift at home I wouldn't go back . The waiting room was full of foreign people so I was probably pushed aside.I hiave been pushed aside like trash all my life so I should have been use to it. Not a dentist for people with disabilities or just me that was unfortunate as usual.

Negative experience: Inaccessible, I had to leave my pram downstairs and carry/cajole my toddler up 4 flights of stairs. Then she had nowhere to sit whilst I had my check up and couldn't be restrained. Think they need to consider getting a lift. I found the dentist rude, he actually referred to my child as 'it' (the dental nurse was told to take 'it' outside while I had an xray). Just an unpleasant experience.

Negative experience: We took our skids there few time but Dr M****** send them away by saying they crying, where as kid didn’t at all. I think their mission is just to keep on giving repetitive appointments instead of treating teeth’s .

Negative experience: First time at the dentist yesterday and I'm never going back I'm a very nervous about dentist and the lady I saw was not a bit helpful very rude said she couldn'tfix my broken tooth and referred me somewhere else I was scared to death and couldn't wait to get out from start to finish at that place not one person was nice or helpful

Negative experience: Terrible experience from start to finish.. booked in for a private check up (£75) after realising I needed work on a chipped tooth. I was met by some very unprofessional young and dim-witted reception staff that made me unnecessarily wait whilst they finished off their super important gossip.. the feminine chap that booked me in told me to fill out a form and then pointed me vaguely to the top floor. There weren't any pens as he described and I seated myself in the place I thought was right, the staff called me to the room where I was met by the dentist (javed ali). He asked me why I was there so I confirmed it was for a checkup of my teeth (that's what I paid for). After some x rays etc. He simply told me I needed 3 fillings, said it would cost roughly 600 pounds and that I should go downstairs and sign the care plan and get booked in. Zero info or advice, zero understanding.. safe to say I didn't sign. Went with another dentist (drakes dental) paid 120 for composite bonding for 1 filling and was advised for a checkup in 6 months for the other two which were not at all concerning so didn't require treatment..

Positive experience: A well situated practice and it's usually quite straightforward getting appointments. Most of the dentists seem nice, especially the lady we see. However the practice seems to have a focus on private patients even the website doesn't have a feature where nhs patients can make appointments. More importantly though, the conduct of most of the receptionists at the front desk just doesn't speak people skills at all. They are perfectly fine on the phone. So it's either racism or no people skills, both make them totally incompetant. They often don't bother acknowledging you at all, or may say one minute and then carry on, on the computer or phone for an unspecified amount of time, no sorry or acknowledgement that you are still there. On my first visit, they told me surgery whatever not bothering to say where it was- the practice had just opened and it was probably normal for people to not know where to go. After the rude treatment of being ignored for quite a while i didnt feel like asking them either. Luckily a dentist walked passed and she was kind enough to help. Common sense and simple manners are simply not than common.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would, I feel like they get money from the nhs for seeing some people as an emergency appt from 111 with absolutely no intentions to treat us, i was greeted with a young girl thrown a form and told to enter room 13, went up inside it as told and a young Asian woman literally just give me dirtys and said we will tell you when to come in. I sat outside waited a few mins she opened door, I walked in and asked do I fill the form out because no one’s told me what to do here and the form says the dentist fills it they both looked at me silently for a min then said fill it out later (still never filled it) the dentist then began to ask the issue rushed me when I was talking, told me to sit down, scraped my broken tooth and whacked it very very hard and asked how did that feel (sounded very sarcastic) - it is a broken wisdom tooth with a lot of swelling, I nearly cried - of course it hurt. She said yeah sorry I’ll have to refer you to the nhs, I said the nhs has referred me here she looked at me really rudely and said no I do the referring as the nurse, she said ill have to wait a few months?? Or pay there privately for £350 - cannot express how unprofessional and horrible the service was here they look like fake workers and should not be in the jobs they are in I’m so confused. The lady then sent me downstairs for an xray. This lady was super happy and bubbly but had no idea what had happened or to give me any further information looked like they just needed the picture of the xray to look like they have done some work.. anyway now I’m paying privately tomorrow for my emergency extraction at £80 at a different practice with a lot better reviews - obviously do not recommend here in any way shape or form, everything is just weird and unprofessional- does not seem like a proper dentist in any way shape or form very very bad hiring of staff, who are clearly uneducated or unable to perform properly, or just see 111 patients for literally no reason but to waste there time and look at you like rubbish. Absolutely disgusting.

Negative experience: Not even worth a star worst dentist. Do not recommend. Booked an emergency appointment for a tooth extraction. Dentist was full knowledge of what I wanted to get done. Went to see the dentist only to be told he can’t do the extraction gave me a load of excuses and said he doesn’t know how to do the extraction and I need to go to some specialist.

It may help if I clarify that attending an emergency appointment does not guarantee that an extraction/fillings etc will be completed during the appointment. Depending on the patient’s dental presentation at the time and the complexity of the extraction, a further follow up appointment and extra charge may be necessary. Negative experience: Asked for a Saturday appointment and they booked me in for Saturday 2nd August at 3:30pm, had to pay £75 in advance for this appointment and also received an email from them confirming the appointment for Saturday 02/08/2025 3.30pm. Since the internet says they close at 1pm on Saturday, I rang them on two separate occasions during the week leading up to the appointment just to confirm they will be open at 3:30pm for the Saturday appt they've booked me on for and taken payment for. On both occasions I was informed 'some dentist work til late' on Saturday and 3:30pm is confirmed. Lo and behold I'm here at 3:30pm on Saturday and the dentist is closed, door locked and lights off in front and doors locked at back and no working intercom. Absolutely disgraceful for you to book patients on a Saturday 3:30 pm appointment, take money for it and then be closed at 3:30 pm on a Saturday. This is not how you do business, have some shame. If you are going to be closed at the time you've booked them if for, then atleast have the courtesy to inform them a day or two in advance and offer them a due refund that you've charged for the appointment.

Negative experience: I went for a complete clean up of my teeth paid £100 it was absolute rubbish, you couldn't even see the difference. My son also had a clean up he took could not see any difference. Sorry but the staff have no manners at all. Definitely highly recommend you don't use my dentist, always look at reviews then decide.

Fantastic experience: I have major dentist fear and my dentist put me at ease immediately Explained everything they were doing and I was able to be the most relaxed I’ve ever been in the dentist chair for years! I initially booked a consultation following an offer they had advertised, everything was thoroughly explained at each and every step. Negative experience: I went to "my dentist" today, but because I was 15 mins late as I am a semi disabled man and was struggling to get my scooter out of my car on my own, with NO help from anyone, as I say, I got there 15mins late, and was point blankly REFUSED any treatment at all, as I required a FULL set of dentures, which they missed out on, at what ever cost it might have been. P.S. do they NOT know what the words "give and take" mean or even HELP?

Negative experience: I had a very similar experience to the ‘nervous patient’ who posted before me. Dr Osama broke the tooth leaving the root in. His colleague yanked it hard but couldn’t get the root out. The whole thing took more than 30 mins and there was no communication at all about what was going on. Stuffy hot room, didn’t even give me a proper apron. Very rude uncaring approach. Dr Osama said that my case would be taken up by the hospital within days, but months later I am still waiting. Note: a previous version of this complaint said that Hannah had ignored my messages, but this is incorrect. Also I raised the review from one to two stars because the practice offered me a free airflow procedure as a gesture of conciliation.

Negative experience: Poor customer service. Cancelled appointments without giving notice to patients. Then wouldn't see use when two minutes late. Today knowing my mother in law is disabled they made her go up the stairs to her appointment because they didn't book a downstairs room. She will be in pain for the rest of the day.

Negative experience: I’m a young, nervous patient and was met with a really cold attitude from the dentist. Incredibly inadequate communication skills, I have no idea what’s going on in my mouth with no precautions and little aftercare advice. Absolutely not ok at all. Had a partial tooth extraction that got severely infected with bone fragment coming out during the healing process. I’m starting to think there is little to no care because I am an NHS patient and not paying privately. Absolute joke that has left me traumatized. I’ve gotten way more advice from google about my situation than the dentist could provide. Honestly shocking, I am on a low income and am so very willing to pay privately at a different practice after this experience.

Negative experience: Strongly unrecommended my dentist I had an appointment today and they don't know how to do a filling and they don't know how to take baby or adult teeth out. I went today and my mount was bleeding a lot and would not stop and they also didn't put any injection in my mouth and I was I a lot of pain and they couldn't take my baby tooth out and now only my roots are there and a lot of blood. Negative experience: When my son had his scaling, they did not put bib on my son's chest and my son had difficulty with his saliva and saw him like almost choking, they are not using small suction while doing the procedure, they use only the big suction to suck the small particles in scaling. Not satisfied with the dentist.

Negative experience: Such a bad experience with this dental clinic, starting with the reception, they barely do a thing they look at you with bordom, no smile and no respect. When you ask for something at the reception desk they forget that the British values exist, no tolerance for no English speakers, no respect, you misunderstand Something that they said the receptionist literally rolls her eyes to you , and in the meanwhile the other receptionists stay noisy to what you two are saying, and forget about others that are in the queue .

Negative experience: literally the most weirdest dentist. reception staff do not care at all. they just want to sit around and look pretty and not acknowledge that you’re there. all reception staff look really young, they give you a form and don’t even tell you where to go..one man was kind enough to check me in with a smile, the others just stare with blank faces…never been to such an unprofessional place.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend my dentist to my worse enemy. If your a private patient they charge you a fortune and ruin your good teeth taking out a tooth they only filled 1 year previously. Has severe tooth ache booked emergency op gave me an ex and charged £125 had to pay for antibiotics as well. Not taking on NHS patients as there full or is it only for certain people? The all practice is unprofessional.

As a company we work hard to keep our private pricing as low as possible and our pricing is reflective of the cost of providing the dentistry.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with the service at the Blackburn Town Centre mydentist. I’ve been here a few times and ended up waiting over 50 minutes, only to find out the staff forgot to check me in and the dentist had already left. No apology, nothing. When asking why I’ve been waiting so long, there were five staff members behind the desk, chatting away, and it took them several minutes to even acknowledge me, even though no one else was there. It just felt like they didn’t care. I’ve been to the mydentist in Manchester Northern Quarter, and the service there was so much better. After being treated like this more than once, I’d be crazy to spend £2,000+ here.

Negative experience: WARNING!! Do not be fooled with positive reviews ( I am guessing the good reviews are either private or a simple check up, where customers have had no issues with there teeth) the customer service desk really do not care about anything, you are ignored evan when you are stood in front off them and there faces show they are not happy to see you... when you go in to see the dentist, there is only ever two option's the dentist will advise, take the tooth out or keep re filling a tooth, I had my tooth re filled 7 times, they just want a quick fix and never listen to what you want, i said i wanted a crown and i am happy to pay for but he (edward) just would not do it and said to keep refilling it, my confidencewent out the window as for 6 years i would not smile due to the crack my front tooth and edward keep re filling but it looking really bad, do not say I did not warn you.... I was very spectical going abroad to get my teeth done but best decision I made, and now I can finally eat in any place in my mouth and no pain, and my confidence back as i can now actually smile, i wish I did this 6 years ago abroad , rather than being messed about by these cowboy dentist who have an attitude themselves

Negative experience: I am so angry. I didn't like having to move to Railway Road. It was so inconvenient for me as I am disabled. Last year I had a check up and mentioned a broken tooth. The dentist put a temporary filling in. The next day it was gone. I went back and he put another temporary filling in. That disappeared too. So I just put up with it until this year's check up. He asked me if there were any problems. I explained that the filling had gone so thankfully he did put a permanent filling in this time but when I mentioned I had a cracked tooth and one where the side had come off he just said "you'll be ok". I am here on Friday night and more of my tooth has fallen off!! It is my canine tooth and is very jagged. I have moved town and one of the ladies said she would get in touch with the My Dentist nearest to my new address. I waited a week and when I rang up no one had done anything so I rang the new dentist and asked to be transferred. I shall be ringing the new dentist and hope and pray I get better treatment and service

Negative experience: Quick to take your money, and bombard you to organise further treatment that will inevitably cost an arm and a leg, multiple phone calls through out the day every day with people leaving voice mails who can’t even recite their own phone number correctly. Since been struck off due to not attending as my daughter ended up in hospital. It’s ok for them not to show up to my daughters appointment when I take time off work to take her but when I don’t appear I suffer and get struck off. I’m part way through treatment and now have to sit on a waiting list again. Doesn’t appear to be patient led dentistry they keep booking you in over and over to get more money out of you. Back to private for me. Edit. yes it is the correct surgery and you won’t locate me because you struck me off.

In some practices where we have no NHS appointment capacity, we do have alternative private options. These options are offered outside of the practices NHS contractual obligations. Where alternative options are available, we will always offer these as an alternative. This allows patients to make an informed choice on their dental care.

Negative experience: Very bad experience. Very unprofessional staff. Receptionists are very very rude. They are always on their phone, and they are just like a business organization. No smile on any of receptionists. They just give you the form and no any instructions. I will never recommend my dentist. It's better to go small surgery rather then them.

Negative experience: Every time I come for an appointment I'm left waiting way beyond my s scheduled time. Today it's currently 25 minutes and a lady who turned up 20 minutes after me has gone in. The Dentist is nice enough, but if you take time off from work to go to a Dentist I would find another, because there's no apologies or organisation here and they never improve.

Negative experience: Have had the worst experience am even trumatised because I missed an appointment they did even mind to know why I missed the appointment then I booked another appointment but unfortunately I got an emergency that the person who was supposed to pick my infant from school so that I can come for my appointment at 3:30 had got a problem sooo I called them I tried explaining but they couldn’t listen I again left a voice mail that I will be late because I will be picking my infant from school …. So when I reached the place for my appointment they had deregistered I am sooo hurt because the cement they put is all out and the hole is all open am scared I might get am infection

I am sorry that we are unable to offer you any further appointments. Non-attendance at appointments does impact on the practice, both in terms of cost and wasted surgery time. Negative experience: Poor poor service had a bridge fit fell out after 2 months had it refit all wonky went back after an hour to have it removed and rectified what they tried charging me for to say they have to have a new one made everything was rushed and even forgot to do my clean and polish till I mentioned it had the new one fit which took 2 weeks to do as the first was done within a week as I was paying so a money making shoddy workmanship to now have ruined other teeth what bridge was fixed too as now gone private as bridge still wasnt right so spent over 400 pound to have 2 more teeth needing work due to bad dental work from these

Negative experience: This is the worst dental practice I have been in my entire life. The female dentist attitudes are through the roof. I am not a free loader I paid for the service but I got the worst scaling of my life my mouth was bleeding for an hour she did such a rough job and finished the scaling in 1 minute leaving me in pain and blood coming through my month. The nurse with her was rude too both the doctor and the nurse were rolling their eyes. She sits in room 7 her name is Dr. Waseema I think. They are the worst. No manners or knowledge at all.

Negative experience: Not a dentist for those less able bodied as there is no disabled parking bay, even if there is we weren’t advised, the practice is on a main road, receptionists not professional at all, too busy looking glamorous I thought I was in a beauty parlour, I was struggling to get my 80 year old mum into the reception who had difficulty standing and is awaiting knee surgery, I asked the receptionist to get a chair for which she said they are not allowed due to health n safety, no help provided and even on the way out the receptionist quite happily watched my mum struggle until a passerby helped me assist my mum into the care, what a disgrace they’re out to make money and look pretty. Do not recommend it

Negative experience: I had a root canal filling done on my 2 top teeth on the 5th March by Muhammed who was very nice and put me to ease and said any problems come back. My pain and swelling got really bad by Thursday morning so I rang the dentist as soon as they opened, the receptionist said she will speak to the practice and see when Muhammed can fit me in as soon possible, but we will get back to you in 48 hours. It is now the 9th today and no one has bothered to call back and I'm still in pain. Rubbish service.

Negative experience: Disgusting service. I had some work done last week with a filling and been in pain for days. I called up for an appointment and told them the issue. They booked me in with a new dentist unbeknownst to my knowledge. I turned up and was asked to pay. I asked why, it should be under the same treatment from last week because it's the same tooth. The reason was because I am seeing a new dentist. That was not my fault, they should have made this clear from the beginning. Nothing they can do, booked me in and now I have to wait another week in pain.

Fantastic experience: I was treated by Hassan who fitted a complete set of implants, top and bottom. Although it was a long process, l am extremely delighted with the end result. It has changed my life completely and giving me back the confidence l have lacked for a long time. Fantastic experience: Visited here a few weeks back as a new patient. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the receptionist at the end of the desk, think his name was Jack. I expressed that it was my first time here and I felt anxious, he put me right at ease and said that I was in safe hands while here. After my appointment with the dentist I came back to jack as I wanted some info on whitening. I was introduced to Andrew the treatment co ordinator who went through different whitening products and advised what would be best for me. I am still thinking about which to go for but I will certainly be returning. Very welcoming practice and the staff are superb

Negative experience: Registered with this dentist before Christmas and made initial check up appointment for 11th January. Before Christmas I had extremely bad toothache and was told any problems ring up and we will get you in, so I did and they made me appointment earlier for today 03/01/2024 knowing I needed tooth extraction as I had already seen another dentist. Arrived for appointment everyone on phones and not acknowledged at all, eventually I was checked in and I asked again will they do treatment today to which I was told yes and I must pay £25 now and additional treatment cost after. The dentist saw me did check up fine, was then sent for X-ray but after waiting told machine not working. Went back in to dentist to be told yes the tooth needs to come out but go reception and make another appointment . Then told earliest appointment 22nd of January, what a joke. Not a good first impression

Fantastic experience: My dentist Aaishah deserves more than five stars, she made me feel at ease whilst completing my treatment she informed me regarding the procedure. I hate fillings and injections therefore avoided the dentist for many years but her professional kind and caring manner assured me and made me comfortable. Even the way she injected me making sure I was comfortable with gentle and caring approach has made me want to visit the dentist again without feeling any anxiety. She ensured deep cleaning and scaling that I can say been the best ever from any other dentist visits so far. Very informative will book sooner next time thanks to Aaishah

Fantastic experience: Had an extraction done today 30/11/23. Fayhal was absolutely amazing. Both she and her assistant made me feel at ease. Felt no pain. Also I have to add that my 12 year old son came for a check up 2 weeks previous and again he was made to feel at ease especially with his gag reflex which is quite bad. So thankyou and I'm looking forward to future procedures

Negative experience: Very bad experience, First thing is as soon as you enter, all the receptionist were busy on the phone, it looked like a call center rather than dental practice. Eventually the head receptionist who dealt me had a blunt face, no hello, no hi, not even a smile. Very unprofessional, jut interested in taking your money. Next very little place for seating, only 6 chairs, had to stand till called. Next the dentist is also the same, no smile. Only interested in selling there next treatment, like pay extra for cleaning and filling. Was not happy when i asked what the treatment did the initial £ 23 covered. When we pay we have right to know what we are paying for. Over all, i was unhappy with my visit, just wasted £23 for nothing. Will not recommend anyone to this practice.

Positive experience: Not a very professional practice at all. The receptionists are very unhelpful and keep you waiting for ages to sign you in.They have rang me many times to cancel appointments at the last minute. They hardly ever see you around your appointment time. The dentists are not too bad.
