Fantastic experience: The team at Heckmondwike are lovely and friendly. I had an issue with a temporary crown and they have managed to sort this out for me before Christmas so I can now enjoy the festive period. Chelsea on reception is lovely and understanding.

Fantastic experience: Jessica is such a lovely dentist. I've seen her 2-3 times in the past few months for fillings and each time she has being amazing with me. I suffer from anxiety and finding out i had to get a few done at once scared me so much. But Jessica was so lovely to me and calmed me down. I felt i built trust with her as she explained everything so clearly and never felt pressured into having all 3 done together I had the choice to space them out. Thank you for looking after me during the treatment plan.

Fantastic experience: I had lost a filling. I contacted the surgery the following morning, speaking to Janet who was very helpful, offering me a slot that had come free if I could get to the surgery in 45mins. I did so and was dealt with by Usman one of their dentists. He cleared and refilled the tooth quickly but expertly, leaving it better than before the loss. I so respected his skill and professionalism.

Negative experience: I have been going to this dentist for years. Since bupa took over, the service has just got constantly worse. Over the years there has been a deteriation in the service that is provided here. From the past few months it's been a catalogue of errors from their part and in the end had to leave and go elsewhere. First of all I had a tooth out, straight forward i thought, but not the case. The dentist was struggling to get the tooth out, I was in so much pain, he called in another dentist, and the first thing she said after looking at the xray was he should have gone to hospital for this. As you can imagine this really didn't fill me with confidence when im sat there on the chair. They finally got the tooth out, I was in so much pain due to the amount of time they took to do it. I then had to go back due to dry socket, I had to have it cleaned out which was even worse than the pain from the tooth out, I nearly passed out on the chair, I left in tears. Later I had to go back as it wasn't healing properly, I was told it was healing okay, but still weeks later no better and was given two courses of antibiotics to clear the infection. They still charged me every visit even though it was missed by them. Next I've recently had to have a root canal done on a back tooth, I was given the option of my dentist or a specialist (trainee) on the private section. I said to go ahead on the nhs. I went in for the first part and that went okay. When I went in for the 2nd part, the dentist couldn't complete it so had to abort. I was told I would have to go private either at their practice or at another. I asked for the price and was told this would be sent to me. I prebooked the appointment as well as pushing back the dates for a crown on the first tooth. Over the course of the next few weeks I chased them for the price, first they told me the specialist was on holiday, then they sent me the full price, instead of the updated price due to half already been completed. I chased again and still nothing. In the end I went to another specialist. Then cancelled my appointment with them. After seeing the external specialist I was told that they had packed the tooth incorrectly and just filled it with temporary filling, instead of using the correct method of keeping the canals open. I was shocked at this. Why did they even say they could go ahead with it, it is shocking practice. We go to dentists as they are specialist who are meant to care. Instead I've gone through so much pain, time and cost that could have been avoided. I have since come away from this dentist and found a new one. Its really put me off dentists atm, I never had a fear of them until now. I would really avoid this place, they need to sort out their processes and procedures and provide better customer care both by the dentist and the reception staff.

Fantastic experience: I have recently bodied Azeez &Lauren over two appointments for my teeth cleaning. This was completed over two appointments due to my teeth being very sensitive and required my mouth to be numbed. Due to this I have increased anxiety. I wish to say that from arriving to leaving they both showed me care and compassion. Azeez was very gentle from the injections to cleaning. Lauren helped to keep me calm and look after me. I have every faith and confidence in them both that it will be ok and this will help me return again in six months. Azeez also explained why my teeth were sensitive and gave me information and guidance. Thankyou to you both. You have both helped me overcome some of my fear and anxiety.

I subsequently met Nadeem and Angie who I have to say looked after me and went above and beyond to make sure I was okay. Today my journey was over and I was overcome by the results. Negative experience: The whole place is justa mistake. As soon as you have any interaction with reception staff you can see hear and feel they don't want to be there, have a major issue to speak to anyone politely untill you give them the attitude back and make them feel like they make you feel(like an idiot). They are rude, without any compassion especially towards little children. They seem like they have a bag of rocks on their shoulders & have to be there rather than want to be there so why not change your job? You can feel in the air they only care about money and nothing else. There is ONE, just ONE good dentist since we joined the practice. Thanks to the previous not experienced dentist who was rushing out on a Friday afternoon my 4 year old would end up without half of his teeth thanks to their pointless refferal... they have no sense of caring for patients. Been a customer at a few Bupa practices across Yorkshire for emergency reasons etc and this so far is the worst one - and there's nothing worse when you have a minor they need/should deal with. With the attitudes they have they should be nowhere near dentistry industry.

Fantastic experience: Checkup was routine. Advice and professionalism was notably good. Romana helped me understand more about dental health and Georgia did her bit to ensure Romana delivered her care within the times slot efficiently. Very Happy overall. Would recommend. 12/8/25 Just completed a course of cosmetic treatment to make my smile look better. I had 2 of my front teeth done. One porcelain veneer and one composite veneer. My stated aim was to match up the two teeth,either side of my front tooth implant, to the colour of the inplant. They now match the colour of the implant and the teeth to the left and right of the veneers respectively. This was very professionally done by Aalia Vania. I am delighted with the result.

Then Georgia helping with the filling out of forms then zara and uzman the dentist unbelievably caring and explained everything professionally. Fantastic experience: Could not reccomend Arfa enough. She was patient, informative, happy, kind and so so lovely with our 4 year old daughter. Her nurse was Ruby and she was just as nice. This is so important as my daughter doesn't worry about coming to the dentist because everyone in this surgery have been lovely so far. The receptionist that dealt with us is so nice every time too! (I'm just sorry I don't know her name!)

Fantastic experience: I want to give big credit to Pui the hygienist and aamna the nurse. Unfortunately I have gum disease and pui explained everything from top to bottom. She took her time on my deep clean. She explained to me how it should get treated for it to get better. She explained what to not do that will make the gum disease worse. She told me which toothbrush to buy and explained how to brush my teeth so that my gum’s get better. Big credit to aamna also for explaining it too. Best experience I’ve had so far and will go back to them in 3 months for a check up.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding Invisalign Treatment and Exceptional Care from Aalia I’ve been with Thornhill Dental Surgery for over 25 years, and the care I received during my Invisalign treatment with Aalia was by far the most detailed and attentive I’ve ever experienced. From start to finish, everything was clearly explained — before, during, and after treatment. Aalia’s knowledge of dental hygiene is exceptional, and her professionalism and genuine care made all the difference. She supported me throughout the entire journey, and I can’t thank her enough. I’ve already recommended her to several friends and family members, many of whom have now booked in with her as well. Aalia is a true asset to Bupa, and I’m incredibly grateful for the outstanding service she provided.

Negative experience: Paid £50 for an Orthodontic consultation to be told by Aalia that I had stage 3 irriversible gum disease. Baring in mind 3 weeks previous I had an appointment at my own dentist who did Xrays and gave me no inclination of this. To which I have now been back to him and he confirmed I do NOT have gum disease. So not sure how Aalia came to this conclusion after only sticking her fingers in my mouth. DO NOT waste your money you will go and be told you have an issue so they can advise you to use their hygienist and pay more money!!! their website is completely misleading as they dont even offer orthodontic treatment, only Invisalign. Shocking service they should be ashamed of themselves especially Aalia telling a 32 year old she has life changing irriversible gum disease when she doesn't

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing dentist Aalia Vania for a month now, and I can confidently say she’s the best dentist I’ve ever had. I was really nervous about getting root canal treatment and teeth whitening, but dentist Aalia Vania takes time to explain every procedure throughly. I had a root canal here , and it was completely painless. And the teeth whitening was so amazing. I want to say thank you for Dentis Aalia!!

Positive experience: I’ve used this dental practice for a number of years now for myself and my 2 children. Today I had a check up and cant fault Usman and Elle they were friendly, efficient and professional. In particular I loved the way Usman took the time using the mirror to talk me through the review of each of my teeth which previous dentists haven’t done. The only reason I have given 4 stars is I do find my appointments when booked in advance (usually a few months) do regularly get cancelled and then his is frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Thank-you to Dr Joyti Kainth and nurse Zainab. I have been too scared to go to the dentist to have work done on my mouth for far too long, causing a deterioration in my gum health and tooth condition. I had to have my teeth removed. I was so scared !!!! Jyoti gave me full confidence to even sit in the chair. Her manner is calm, cheery and understanding; completely professional. Jyoti's dental nurse was also very professional yet thoughtful and caring her name is Zainab. To me, this was a rather emotional and nerve racking time but it was handled beautifully and it allowed me to have the work done which was so badly needed. If all dentists were as relaxed yet professional; efficient yet friendly, no one would fear going to the dentist. I have and will continue to recommend Jyoti within Bupa Dental Care. She has given me the confidence to smile again. Thankyou so much.

Fantastic experience: Pui and Aamna were both amazing during my first hygienist visit at BUPA Heckmondwike. I was really nervous at first as I’m pending a lot of dental treatment, but the process from start to finish was outstanding. Besides the thorough clean of my teeth, I received so much advice that I’ve never had before and now understand how to properly clean my own teeth and look after my gums… and I was given a code for a new iO electric toothbrush at a reduced price which I’ve subsequently bought. I’m actually looking forward to seeing them again in 6 months. Great work ladies, thank you both.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a root canal on my lower 2nd molar. The practice was really nice and helpful. I had been in pain for 3 weeks and they got me in for the next available appointment only one working day later. The root canal went smoothly the entire time, I was being motivated and told I'll be done soon. Already feeling better. Thank you Bupa, the staff are really kind, they are welcoming and supportive too and only want the best for their patients. I have been with this practice for close to a decade, maybe longer, and i will continue to stick with them

Fantastic experience: I attended a consultation with Aalia to discuss option to improve my teeth, I had over the year a couple of fillings in my front teeth which were noticeable to me not so much from a distance. I also wanted to improve the look of them cosmetically and to be confident to smile. Having had the fillings replaced and composite bonding my teeth now look so much better than I expected, I had a couple of areas that needed tweeting but Aalia was amazing at sorting these out. Aalia was very professional, friendly and amazingly talented in the work she creates. Not only did I have the fillings replaced, Aalia gave me my smile back which gives me so much more confidence. Long gone and the noticeable fillings, I have beautiful straight white teeth which I get complimented on daily via my own patients at work. I would 100% recommend using Aalia and her team, Jess was brilliant at my initial consultation explaining the process and she is such a lovely, kind and friendly asset to the whole experience and even came in to support during the appointment. If I had to do this journey over again I would choose Aalia for the work Thank you for giving me back my smile.

I bought an electric toothbrush, used little brushes and started flossing but if she hadn’t have been so blunt in the appointment it wouldn’t have happened. Thanks guys!
