Welcome to mydentist Filton Road, Horfield. We currently have 10 clinicians in our team who cover a variety of NHS, private and myoptions treatment plans including bridges, implants and teeth whitening. We are a 3 minute walk away from Filton Road bus stop and a 22 minute walk away from Filton Abbey Wood train station. There is parking on available on the street outside the practice but please note this is limited. We welcome all patients to our practice and ensure all individuals are treated with the utmost care and attention from our highly skilled staff. If you have any questions, please give us a call. Negative experience: Just phoned to make an appointment for my son as he has chipped a tooth. Was told on the phone he has to phone himself. I asked why and was told “because he’s an adult” In a very condescending tone. I asked what difference it makes as I’m just making the appointment in reply. We can’t . Not good enough monk’s park dental practice. You do realise he will be bringing his own teeth to the appointment do you ? and he will be paying private prices for that privilege. I’ve had no problems making an appointment for my “adult” husband before now!!! Please sort absolutely ridiculous

Fantastic experience: Me and my family have been going to this dental practice for over 22yrs. The receptionists and dentists, that we have seen over the years, have all been very kind and caring. But I have got to make a special shout out to Ana, who did a deep clean on my teeth and gums today. I was ready for the pain, but no pain. She took her time and she was so gentle, I was amazed. Negative experience: I have using GP for my kids when I booked the dates with them, they will cancelled your the book on that day, first time change the date is fine but they cancelled me 3 times already and my daughter still waiting them for the first time booking on September and now need to change to November but still not yet will cancel or not.

Negative experience: Not very impressed yet again you have made a mistake again by booking a dental appointment not with his dentist and because of his learning disabilities it takes a lot for a to travel on his own plus because of his dyspraxia he does not cope with sudden change in routine, so he has to plan ahead he has left your dental surgery not very impressed and upset, he called his dad and was really very stressed out about this situation and very confused and he does not do diaries, and had forgotten he had his flu vaccination on the 8th of October, plus because the rules have changed because of the covid vaccination we are not eligible so basically because he can't drive anywhere he puts himself at risk so has to pay for a uber to come to you, and I would like to no why you did not just message him

Our mydentist, Filton Road, Horfield practice is providing NHS services, however, as we have a number of unfilled NHS dentist vacancies, we are currently not able to accommodate every patient who is contacting us seeking NHS dental care. We do have a number of private clinicians at the practice who offer private appointments outside of any NHS contractual obligations. These private options will be offered to patients as an alternative way to access dental care with us, until our NHS appointment capacity can be expanded in the future.

Negative experience: I’d give no stars based on my partner’s experience. Through no fault of his own , he arrived 20 mins late and was met with a hostile receptionist who advised he would receive a letter and would probably be struck off. He even offered to pay for the late appointment despite not receiving his check up. He was spoken to like a naughty child and was humiliated in the waiting room. If he had done this on a regular basis we would have understood but this was a first of many years with this practice . He is also a private patient, so paid the extortionate prices. I am utterly appalled at the rudeness , lack of compassion and professionalism. The email arrived as promised , so Monks Park will no longer accommodate my partners dental appointments for the sake of 20 minutes and the offer to PAY for the lost time. Despicable, dissatisfied and now seeking a new and more understanding dentist , and will give all My Dentist an extremely wide birth.

Negative experience: I was a patient at this dentist for about 20 years. Penny was my dentist, I hear she no longer works there but I just want to express my complete disappointment in this practice and penny. I saw a dentist every 6 months and never missed an appointment. As time went on she got less and less thorough. Every time I went to the dentist she took x rays and said yep everythings fine. I went to see a hygenist at a another place who told me one of my teeth was so badly decayed, I may lose it and I need to get it treated ASAP. This was one week after my least check up with penny. I looked for another dentist to have a check up with someone else and found I needed 2 fillings and now a crown. I'm not a dentist but looking at the x rays, it was very clear there was a problem and there was no reason for her to miss it. She neglected me as a patient. What if I hadn't seen that hygentist? I could've lost a tooth or more. Just very disappointed in my experience here and I think people should be more mindful, especially when seeing an NHS dentist who clearly just couldn't be bothered to do the work.

Negative experience: I have been a patient of this clinic for 18 years. For about three years I have not been able to arrange a visit as an nhs patient in this clinic. Two weeks ago I had to register as a private patient due to pain, and since I'm going on holiday I wanted to do it before departure. However, no serious problem was found. A week later the same problem appeared and I went to the dentist again. This time the necessity of root canal treatment or tooth extraction was confirmed by the same dentist. Root canal treatment is about 900£, tooth extraction 1200£. What I can't afford at the moment. At the moment I can only pray that I will survive the flight because any antibiotic is also out of the question because there is no swelling. Another week passes and I call the dentist again because the swelling of the gum is getting bigger. This time the check-up is £125. So I called 111. I probably won't go back to that place.

Negative experience: Very very bad service, I booked NHS appointment 3-4 times they cancelled them all on just few hours notice. After that I called them for pain in emergency they said its been over 2 years you have not seen us, therefore we can only give you private appointment. And you have to pay £65 upfront to book. That's was so annoying. So moral of the story is if it's NHS they will keep cancelling it. If it's private they will see you. Which is very bad service.

Negative experience: The worst experience with My Dentist on Filton Road. Paid privately with Safa Elkhider for a filling replacement on an old chipped tooth. A month later the filling had come off and I was told by reception this would be covered under a 12 month warranty. However, prior to the new appointment Safa's assistant called a few hours before and explained that I would have to pay full price again unless I purchased a night guard as I grind my teeth. This was completely contradicting information and I feel it was a money making tactic. Very misleading, and the practise were unable to provide me with a warranty agreements or terms and conditions on this.

Negative experience: Been with this dentist for 50 years last visit before COVID. Every time I tried to make appointment was told no check ups only emergency. Just tried again was told you are no longer on our books because you haven't been for 2 years which was not for the want of trying. Would certainly not recommend awful service. Fantastic experience: I have attended this practice with my family for many years and have always been happy. Today I arranged an appointment for next month and the receptionist Marina was absolutely awesome. Knowing the extreme difficulties nhs dentist have atm has been hard for staff and patients but Marina took the time to fully explain the situation to me with compassion and professionalism. Well done Marina for doing such a great job . I’m sure the reception staff take a lot of the negativity regarding getting appointments (or not) but I was treated with great kindness. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Negative experience: If I could post no stars I would worst dentist ever! Never any appointments going and never can get through or most importantly be seen! They might aswell just shut down altogether as no patient care is valued or a priority there.

Fantastic experience: Had a checkup a few months ago with Dr Munasingue and Carly since my previous dentist (Renee) retired. Honestly I was quite disappointed she has gone but had a fantastic chat with my new Doctor and Carly! The checkup was simple enough and quick, they also sorted out a tiny issue I had been having for a little while and helped calm my worry about it too which was great. Basically no queue when I got there either so no delays which was a please pleasant surprise

Negative experience: Have just phoned and made enquiries regarding whether you have an NHS Dentist now as told previously you would be getting one by August, the receptionist was extremely rude and would not give me an answer, not at all professional or customer friendly. Fantastic experience: I can’t believe how my teeth looks now!! I am over the moon!!! After a long research and going to different dentists trying to find the right solution for my broken teeth after a horrific accident I had back in 2016 when I was in uni broke my front left tooth! After all these years my original cap came off and it wasn’t looking good at all and I couldn’t make my mind up on what to do. As soon as I went to my dentist and met Edjis Grinvalds he clearly knew what to do and what kind of treatment available he offered me straight away! After a month of treatment finally I had a my crown fitted today and it’s looks absolutely fabulous I can’t even believe how much time and money he saved me compare to a dentist like Queen Square in Bristol. I am totally happy now and can’t stop smiling like old times when I had my normal teeth. Thank you Edijs for your wonderful effort and I look forward to see you in my future appointments.

Negative experience: After over 20 years they deregistered me without warning. They've always been pretty awful but now they've gone 100% private I'll definitely go elsewhere. Since pretty much all dentistry in Bristol is now private and we all have a 'choice' of where we go... DON'T GO HERE! Also, all their replies to other similar comments from other users about being deregistered are lies... they have no intention of 'discussing your issues with the practice manager'... they've just got rid of all their NHS patients (including my 2 kids) so they can get more money.

Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult. There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area. However, we are looking at all options to attract and re-locate dentists to your practice. Please be assured that the vacancies are not through any lack of trying or apathy on our part, purely that recruiting dentists, is proving difficult. Additionally some of the clinicians at the practice have chosen to no longer offer dental services on the NHS. When we do recruit to the vacancies, patients will be contacted to book appointments.

Positive experience: Been with you since, 1990s no problem. But recently I was sent a letter saying my appointment has been cancelled. But trying trying to rebook has been terrible no one answers the phone after ten minutes I asked for a call back. Three times now this has happened and three times still no call back. Negative experience: The receptionist is completely rude. They give the feeling that your not wanted there. Trying to get treatment they have made me feel like I'm asking them for the world. 4 days no sleep and excruciating pain. Only to be triaged and made to wait 3 more days. Dentistry is fantastic though. Yet another problem, in excruciating pain, told even though om a patient of over 4 years, I can't get treatment.

Positive experience: So I’ve been with this dentist for years sadly Adrian left which was sad as he knew my mouth inside out . Had max this year and he was brilliant! Told me everything he was doing and made me feel comfortable. But the receptionist staff are awful ! Rude I rang the day before explaining I may not be able to make it and she got very ruled and said sorry u need to come other wise we will close this case down. Which made no sense when you send us all a text saying if you can’t make this appointment please ring and we will do something that suits you. Well clearly NOT u need to get staff that give great customers service with a welcoming attitude you nedd to change you ways with receptionists .

Negative experience: Was with this dentist for a few years, had fillings that I didn't really need as my teeth was not hurting, didn't ask me what filling I wanted eg: white/black/silver/gold. Ended up with silver and was not happy as I told the dentist I would of and now they have taken me off the system. had gold.

Fantastic experience: My mum had treatment with Sophie the hygienist. Straight off the bat we were welcomed by Sophie with a huge smile and bubbly personality which put us right at ease especially when we told Sophie about my mums nerves - sophie explained that she too is a nervous patient at the dentist so she can understand how mum was feeling. She emphasised to mum that it's mums appointment and that she is in control so if she is uncomfortable or would like her to stop then just to raise her hand. Mum did test this and yes Sophie did stop immediately and ask if mum was ok in a very caring manner. Sophie was very delicate, understanding and thorough with her treatment. During my mums first appointment Sophie explained the gum disease process in a way that we could easily understand even using pictures and models. She then gave us very useful leaflets and print outs for us to look over at home. Sophie provided us with many choices for continued treatment and provided her recommendation whilst also encouraging us to take the information home to digest and discuss before making our decision. We were very happy with the result of the clean and feel we had great value for our money. We ultimately decided to go forward with continued treatment with Sophie where she ensured my mum was at ease throughout and was very attentive including talking my mum through each step before she did it and using breathing techniques whilst giving injections. After treatment at the follow up appointment, we were informed that the gum disease had stabilised and Sophie was very encouraging that my mum had played a huge role in this positive outcome through her brushing and attendance to appointments. Sophie seemed just as pleased as us with the result which made us feel that she truly cares for her patients and their personal results. Sophie also gave us her famous "goodie bags" throughout treatment which was a added bonus as it included small toothpaste tubes (great for holidays!) And tepe samples to get us started on a new brushing routine. We look forward to coming back to the practice, thank you for this experience.

Fantastic experience: From being greeted at reception by Marina, being made welcome and shown the way by Charlene, to walking into the surgery to have my treatment with Sophie I was immediately at ease. Fantastic experience: Ed is a prefectionist. He made me some great whitening trays, they fit like a glove. After a few weeks of doing the whitening I started to get compliments on how white my teeth were. Phillips zoom whitening is a good, affordable whitening system. From my first phonecall, the process has been very smooth 5* This practice is one of the best in Bristol.

Negative experience: My son went here with chronic tooth ache they took him as emergency patient. Dentist saw him and told him he needs to pay 1300 pound for treatment. They have done other work on his mouth and have not removed the tooth. It is 6 weeks down the line and the tooth is still in his moth and in agony. He has spent 400 pound on unwanted treatment which i feel he was pressured into, he is a single dad with 2 young children on benefits. I have had to find another emergency dentist as we do not trust these money making robbing dentist. SHAME ON YOU.

Negative experience: Feel absolutely robbed. I made an appointment on Friday as my tooth fell away and it looked bad. Desperately booked it for Monday only to find out that I couldn't get child care that evening. Went to cancel Saturday morning first thing as it says its open, automated message said its closed. Call Monday to make an enquiry about how to rearrange it as I had paid a deposit... Receptionist said it would be an extra charge as i needed to give them 48hrs ( which would have been if i cancelled Saturday) and I reluctantly kept it and asked my husband to cancel his meeting to cover child care. Called back to double check the time and receptionist told me she had given my slot to someone else... So they kept my money gave my slot to someone else and charged them the booking deposit aswell.. The receptionist apologised for the mix up and that was that, told me the dentist won't give me my deposit. On principle I would not go there again no matter how desperate I am with needing my tooth fixing... I feel so disappointed with the lack of empathy this industry has!! And so much for it being open Saturdays, the phones dont get answered ! A sorry from the receptionist just doesn't quite cut it..

Fantastic experience: Called in on time, had a swift non painful filling. Nice friendly atmosphere.i have been with this dentist for years and would not dream of changing. Had a tooth removed May 2022. Razan did an excellent job. No hassle would recommend this dentist to all.

Fantastic experience: Marina the receptionist I spoke to was so kind and helpful when getting my son and I organised with a dentist. I have spoken to lots of others trying to get on the register and have been disappointed by their lack of support so Marina was a breath of fresh air! Thank you so much. I visited Anna today with my son and Charlene was the dental nurse with her. They were so welcoming! Super friendly and so lovely. They were great with my son at 16Months this was his first dental experience and he was so calm. Charlene looked after him whilst I was checked over which made everything so much easier. Thank you both so much, I had anxiety about how it would go and it was the polar opposite. Highly recommend this dental practise. Staff in all areas professional and caring.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and dedicated reception staff, skilled and caring dentist - I can't ask for more! Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could! My check-up was more in-depth than I'm used to from my last place (which was great!), and my partner - who usually has problems with anaesthetic and pain - needed a filling, and said it was the most pain-free filling she's ever had!

Fantastic experience: I was due a series of appointments when I went sick. I had just moved house and had lost my appointment slip. I phoned the practice in a bit of a pickle and my call was picked up by Caz. She was very reassuring and nothing was too much trouble. She sorted all of my appointments out in an efficient and friendly way. I have used this practice for a number of years and have always had a pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: I came in as an emergency and receptionists are all lovely friendly and welcoming- especially Emma . Great dentist Ed was very nice even though I was shaking and really scared and was quick and brilliant resolving my problem. Even though this is not my closest dentist I will have to come back here because the service I received was second to none .

Fantastic experience: I recently visited this surgery on a last minute appointment which was easy to arrange and the team were very accommodating. Shanice on Reception was very efficient in booking an appointment and talking through the different finance options with me. Within a few clicks I was able to be approved for the finance option and all further dental treatment was booked with ease. All the staff I encountered appeared to be happy, really friendly and very welcoming. The dentist was also very friendly and able to talk about the necessary treatment I needed at a cost-effective price. Instead of referring me to other dentists for specialised work, the dentist explained she’d be happy to do the work and by doing so, it would save me some money too! This is by far the most easiest trip to the dentist I’ve ever had and it appears to be well managed so compliments must be given to their management team! Nobody likes going to the dentist but this practice are doing lots of great things and I would definitely recommend it!
