Fantastic experience: My dentist at Bupa Care Cambridge is Nithya Udayakumar, and I can honestly say I have never had dental treatment like this. It has been excellent, the care and professionalism has been first class. I must add that I hadn’t visited a dentist since before lockdown! I was put at ease and I am thrilled with the results. My hygienist is Tarika Chauhan and again my treatment has been outstanding, everything has been explained throughly and again I am so happy with the results! I would also like to add that the dental nurses are amazing working away in the background assuring that everything is running smoothly and that you have everything in place so that you feel safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend.

Positive experience: The practice has come leaps and bounds since I first started there. Richard is an excellent dentist and is a real treasure to the team. Elaina, his nurse was good. The receptionist was nice but I’d like to exclusively shout out the Nurse Mairead. She kindly opened the door 5 mins before my appointment and welcomed me in with a warm greeting. Overall the practice is lovely. Clean and provides all services and to a great standard. You have one happy patient here.

Fantastic experience: Nithya is an exceptionally brilliant dentist, by far the best I've ever met in my 62 years of experience. I'm not a good patient, and this year I needed a huge amount of work to repair decades of damaged. Nithya did a superb job, over very many visits, both technically and in her empathetic and encouraging conversations.

Richard White completely cured my phobia and he is a brilliant, brilliant dentist. This week, my tooth broke on the Wednesday and was repaired on the Thursday. It looks better than ever. Bupa Cambridge go above and beyond for their customers, 100% recommendation! Thanks Richard :)

Fantastic experience: Excellent professional service specifically focussed on the individual customer needs. From the welcome in reception through to the treatment facility everything went like clockwork. A calming reassuring experience: the care and attention provided by the dental team makes one fully confident that the appointment requirements will be undertaken with the required sensitivity. In my instance, a broken tooth…., had filled me with significant reservations on what was to happen to deal with the issue. However, notwithstanding my fears, the dental team assessed the options, put me at ease, explained the advantages and disadvantages of the corrective procedures and completed the recovery action.

Negative experience: AVOID if you are insured by BUPA. I switched my dentist here after my company switched insurer to BUPA. I was told that BUPA dentists were more likely to keep invoices in line with policy provisions. In fact the reverse is true. My policy covers £80 for checkups and £80 for xrays. BUPA dentist charges £117 for an "Initial Checkup" with "Free" xrays. This "Free" xrays (for an extra £37) and not covered by the policy. What a con! When I refused to pay the manager threatened calling in debt collectors.

Fantastic experience: Nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful reception staff, and dentist itself is very good, they look after you!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this practice, and especially Dr Christine Forbes, highly enough. As someone who has always struggled at the dentist, she has made me feel at ease and more confident than I have in years. I'm an extremely nervous patient but from my very first appointment I was treated with nothing but kindness, patience, and understanding. If you have been putting off going to the dentist for a long time, as I had, and if it is within your means, I would strongly recommend a visit to Dr Christine, and I can only extend my very sincere thanks.

Negative experience: I tried calling them as a BUPA member to make an appointment after waiting for a while a msg came up , your call cannot be connected and it disconnected my call!! Not a very good introduction. If staff are at lunch the msg should reflect that so we don't waste our time. Thank you

Fantastic experience: I honestly can’t say enough good things about this dental surgery. Every single person I’ve dealt with there has been nothing short of lovely – kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. The whole reception team are fantastic, but Chloe and Sara in particular have truly gone above and beyond to help me – especially when I had multiple appointments to juggle around a busy work schedule. They’ve always been so accommodating and understanding, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free before I’ve even sat in the chair. As for my appointments, I’m so grateful to be looked after by Lina and her assistant Kitija. They are absolutely fantastic at what they do – professional, gentle, and always so reassuring. I used to be quite nervous about dental visits, like so many people are, but knowing I’ll be seeing Lina and Kitija makes a world of difference. They create such a calm and friendly atmosphere that I actually look forward to going! It’s rare to find a team that’s both so skilled and so genuinely lovely. A huge thanks to the amazing girls who work there!

Positive experience: Dr Sameera clearly cares about her patients and their teeth, she might be the best dentist I have had (I've had quite a few). This is a very good dentist who has helped me immensely with my teeth. I should give them five stars because I cannot fault them in any way but going to the dentist can never be a five star experience because it is the dentist. But if you need to get your teeth drilled this is a really very good place to do it. Oh and I am very impressed with my posh new white fillings that match my teeth.

Negative experience: Not recommended, Not trusted. I was only 9 minutes late for my appointment, and I was surprised they canceled it, charging me £50 without any prior notice. This was my first time being late, I had already called them while stuck in unexpected traffic that was out of my control. The worst part is that if you face any problems, there’s no one to speak to; they completely ignored me. This is the worst experience I have ever had in the UK.

Fantastic experience: This is MY dentist. As a fearful patient and child of the 60s, I avoided dentistry for 20+ years, due to fear of pain. This dental practice changed me and gave me back my smile. These are very talented and skillful dentists and the surgery is comfortable and well appointed in terms of equipment and services. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to my friends and family. I am very pleased, indeed!

Negative experience: Terrible! I've had an appointment booked since March cancelled at the last minute and have been told there are no other appointments available. I've been an NHS patient at this dentist for years but now there seems no way to get an appointment - even when I described the problem that I need to see a dentist about. What is going on?!

Fantastic experience: I find many dentists available right now are cowboys who are looking to take all your teeth and charge you for the pleasure. I spoke about my poor experience at another Cambridge dentist and they were sympathetic, empathetic, and made me feel very welcome, comfortable, and looked after. Were also very prompt and professional. Definitely will return.

Negative experience: After being here for over 5 years, it seems like they've got some power hungry girl working at the front and at any given option if you ask to speak to a manager, she will refuse it. If you ask for a call back you can be waiting days, and if you ring back for an update. You're in the fault. Ive been trying to make an appointment and speak to a manager rather than speaking to the person in question. I've been reminded that the apparently 'Charlotte is high up the management as im going to get', Currently awaiting to get through to a complaints department when asked for she's decided to hang up the call. Ive been owed money from this dentists as they have overcharged me in the past and that was never an issue. The one time I owed them money however, they wouldn't allow me to book an emergency appointment without having paid a set amount. I had to wait 18months for my refund :')

Fantastic experience: Had lovely time in practice, practiced French and got an update on Byzantian theology. Found my teeth fixed in the end. Dentists always ask me if it hurts- it is so nice! Nobody else ever do.

Negative experience: Here's the revised version with spelling and grammar corrections: Positives: The receptionist on the phone was lovely, and the dentist was also very nice and friendly. Negatives: The receptionist when I visited was rude and brash. The practice looks old and in need of some care. For the prices they charge, I would expect them to have the latest equipment, but it was all very old and outdated. Talking about prices, they are a joke! £105 for a clean! They are double what other places are charging. I have since gone to a practice in Littleport, which is charging HALF the price of these, and they have a wonderful, clean practice with the latest equipment and X-ray machines. Finally, I had to cancel as I was out of the country. I tried to call, but the practice was closed. When I returned home, I had a pile of letters saying they had rescheduled the appointment (without telling me), which I also missed. Now I am getting letters saying I owe them £70 for a missed appointment fee.

Fantastic experience: There appear to be some highly experienced and qualified dentists working here. I don't know much about dentistry but that appears to be the case based on my experience. Costly but excellent results in the end.

Positive experience: Had an appointment today , went with my 3 year old daughter, unfortunately the customer toilet was out of order. I have kindly requested the receptionist to let my daughter to use the toilet, as my daughter was in need to pee, but not allowed to use the staff toilet and told to go across the road. But the reaction of that girl surprised me and I felt very sorry for other customers like pregnant lady or elderly patients. Just wanted to share my experience.

Negative experience: Review Feb-23 - EXORBITANT prices From my previous review a year ago, I must say that reception service has improved considerably. Dentist and hygienist service is still good, however the prices just keep going up to insane levels: previous hygiene just a few months back of ~20 min was £95, vs £85 in late 2020. Today I paid for a half an hour appointment (but it took slightly less time) £105. No change in cleaning technology or any other special extras. I rang other practices and they confirmed they charge in the range of £65- £80 for 30 min appointment, they are also based in Cambridge and use the same scale/polish technology. So, why is BUPA Dental Practice Cambridge considerably more expensive? At present, they only have 1 hygienist 1 day a week, so the waiting list is huge. On a separate note, I was asked to go upstairs and sit in the "waiting room", which is a corridor with 4 simple chairs all of them taken, they do not really have a waiting room. At present the This is my other review from a year ago: Giving 3 starts because the dentist and hygienist were good in my experience, the dentist performed a routine dental check and the hygienist the usual yearly cleaning, but the rest of the experience not too good, details in these next lines. I did not like the surprise charge of 5 pounds for PPE each visit for the dentist mask etc not mine, I wonder if they charge the same to each client surely they get a lot more for a day than what they spend on PPE/day. In any case as medical professionals they should be using those measures/elements independently of the pandemic. Another downside is that it is extremely difficult to get hold of them, I had to wait months for these appointments last year. If you cannot make an appointment you will not get the next slot in 6 months time or so as it happened again now in Jan when I called to re-schedule. Finally, I would not say that reception were unfriendly but they basically did not care about what I was asking for when discussing the receipt I needed, they (2 ladies) did not show any attempt to help, total don't care faces which was quite uninviting to be honest. Last but not least, if you are going to make your clients to wait, I would suggest you think about a more accommodating waiting room than a single chair in a corridor/stairs rest while everyone runs around you.
