Negative experience: Terrible experience today. I booked an appointment to get two fillings. But I wanted to change doctors because my whole family is unhappy with my previous doctor. We had a very negative experience with her; my sister lost a tooth due to improper treatment. I spent 30 minutes on the phone and they refused to change doctors! Is this prison or what?
Negative experience: Absolutely bad experience I have this week here I been here to fix some teeth and my teeth they was ok till I go to them I left from them with big pain and after week I been to somebody else’s and they told me that all my teeth they infected because of them “fixed “ I been on antibiotics and after week still in big pain they don’t know what to do no experience
Negative experience: The dentist themselves are fantastic! However, the receptionists are disgustingly rude. Had to rearrange an appointment. They told me if I cancel, I'd be kicked off the NHS register. They also had the cheek to tell me the NHS is a privilege and not a right!!

Negative experience: Had a filling fall out twice, when trying to book in to have it fixed for the third time I was told the next available appointment was 2 weeks away. After booking that in and waiting the 2 weeks I find out that they didn't actually book the appointment for me and that now the next appointment is another week away. 2 failed fillings and a 3 week wait with a hole in my tooth is not at all an acceptable level of service.
Fantastic experience: Lovely bunch of Staff at the Thatch, always eager to help and support through treatment. Aleena and Gargi, and the care given, helped my daughter overcome her fear of treatment, they were so patient and reassuring. Would also like to recommend Aramis, his patience with my anxiety - from previous negative dental experiences elsewhere over the years - has been a god send. Feel completely safe in his care, he reassures, comforts and never pushes you to uncomfortable places. Thank you Thatch Team.

Negative experience: The dental staff are absolutely amazing. Friendly, patient, and understanding. Unfortunately the receptionist undoes all of the good work. She's rude, unapproachable and has no understanding of how to treat elderly/vulnerable patients. The first time I saw her I just put it down to her having a bad day as she didn't smile or even say hello on arrival and just pushed the iPad across the desk and said we need to sign in. This seems to be her go to attitude. Such a shame she let's the place down.
Fantastic experience: My three children had appointments with Sajeem today and he was fantastic with them. Due to lack of NHS appointments, the older two had only been to the dentist once prior and the youngest had never been. Sajeem made the appointment stress free and fun for them all. Fab service, thank you.

Negative experience: First off I highly rate the dentist and hygienist and basically all of the clinical staff here. They are comforting and professional and a real credit to the dentist profession. The receptionist however is not. I have encountered a few now but there is one particular receptionist, who I spoke to today (may 8th) who is rude and unprofessional and acted like I was the issue even though I simply attended an appointment that had been booked for me after my last visit! Further more she charges me an emergency rate, which I didn't understand as both my partner and I were booked in for appointments this week following our last appointments and we're not told these were emergency appointments!! It is not my fault the person who booked me on clearly mis understood the dentists timeline for being seen. The dentist then prescribed me a product he told me I could get from the desk, but alas! The receptionist decided I couldn't. Someone was mistaken and it's fine I can get the product elsewhere but all in all a very frustrating, and expensive, trip to the dentist whereby clearly there has been a misunderstanding but the receptionist is so rude with appalling people skills. Again, the dentist/hygienist are wonderful and if a misunderstanding has occured I'm not annoyed or frustrated, it would just have been nice for the receptionist to acknowledge that (I'd still have paid my dues!) rather than imply I am the one at fault!

Fantastic experience: The dentist can always be daunting however, every experience I have had here has been very welcoming, professional and has set my mind at ease. The staff are a lovely and friendly group of people. Today I had my first hygiene appointment and Sajeem and his colleague were cheerful and informative and made the experience genuinely enjoyable... Which is a difficult task when visiting the dentist.
Negative experience: Never again!!! i called and even walked in to try and get an emergency appointment. I was told the next availability to be seen is in 2 weeks. As I speak I am in agony and can’t eat. I asked for at least something for the pain to see me through the 2 weeks wait and they said there’s nothing they can do for me, i’ll have to wait to be seen by my dentist. I just walked out in disbelief of the lack of compassion, and broke down in my car. I’ve never spoken to a more heartless receptionist, I think her name was Sandra. Don’t take my word for it: join at you own expense and see if you last 2 years as a patient.

Fantastic experience: I rang 111 and was given an appointment at The Thatch Dental Practice, I received a call from the receptionist with a time to attend, I explained I had a fear of needles and was anxious about attending, She said not to worry about anything and that I would ok. I went along for the appointment feeling nervus but no sooner had I walked in the door I was greeted by the receptionist with a big smile and a calming tone in her voice and was asked to take a seat which I did. After 10 minutes my name was called, before my appointment time I might add. now its at this point I'm thinking of leaving the practice but was show the way to the chair. immediately the dentist could see I was not comfortable at all and she introduced her self and explained what the procedure would involve. All I can say is what I experienced, and I can tell everyone that every member of staff know the meaning of compassion and courtesy because that is what I received in abundance. I would like to say a huge thank you to every one at the practice for making me feel as comfortable as humanly possible. I can not recommend them enough.
Fantastic experience: I signed up at The Thatch Dental Practice in 2021 after not seeing a dentist for 33 years due to extreme dental anxiety. Needless to say I was not looking forward to going, but my mind was quickly put at ease once I arrived and saw the dentist. Thankfully there weren't any issues with my teeth, other than needing a good cleaning by the hygienist. The hygienist I saw was very good as well. It was a long process after all those years but I was always comfortable and reassured when needed. My experience was so good in fact that I actually decided to get Invisalign treatment there too. I was never happy with my crooked teeth and after having the initial consultation I signed up without any hesitation. I cannot praise my dentist Dr. Kaur enough. She always makes time to see me and I can honestly say I no longer have anxiety about seeing the dentist, even after having a wisdom tooth extraction a few weeks ago!! Dr. Kaur always explains everything thoroughly and is very kind and patient with me at all times. So thank you very much for everything.

Positive experience: I came in to make an emergency appt for possible infection after wisdom tooth removal and the receptionist was so unhelpful and told me there was nothing they could do without finding out the full facts. I came in later and a different receptionist was fantastic and got me in on the same day

Fantastic experience: I went in today for, what was supposed to be, a review. And it turned into a half an hour appointment to take out my back tooth, which was causing me horrendous pain. The dental nurse was absolutely amazing, very reassuring, very patient and kind. She even used her lunch break to extract my tooth for me. Which, I was so grateful for! Amazing dental practice, for sure. I was super happy and giggling after she told me the tooth was out, bearing in mind, because of the infection, it was still painful. Even with the maximum dose of the numbing injection. Tbh, I told her it was pressure and just encouraged her to keep going, even though I could still feel alot of pain from the nerve but I assured her it was fine, we did it and the tooth came out and I felt so so happy about that. She asked to film me because I was smiling and giggling and I said yeah, go ahead. From the start of the appointment being scared, worried and in so much pain, to the end, smiling, laughing and so appreciative of her time and care. Thank you ever so much!
Fantastic experience: I have just sat in the waiting room for a little while, (I was early) the lady behind the desk deserves a medal, her patience was unending, and her professionalism never faltered, even when faced with awkward customers. Hats off to you my lovely, very well done.

Fantastic experience: The Thatch Dental Practice has completely restored my faith in dentistry. Their approach to one’s personal care is outstanding. This is something that has gone missing in most other Corporate owned Practices. My dental treatment is first class and I quite look forward to my appointments. Further to my dental care I was directed to see my GP by Dr Kaur to have a mark on my face investigated. I have since been referred to the hospital for treatment. This would not have happened if not for Dr Kaur’s intervention. I feel that my whole well being is being cared for at The Thatch Dental Practice. I am looking forward to my next appointment soon.

Fantastic experience: Amazing practice i cant thank the Thatch enough. Over the past month both myself and my son have required emergency appointments and referals. Sarah the receptionist has been so helpful and organised appointments for us within a small time frame. Her organisation skills towards this service are beyond. Dr Amrit, is not our regular dentist, and for someone like myself that suffers from extreme dental aneixty she was amazing, to both myself and my son on both occasions. She is generally a lovely lady and extremely talented in the world of dentistry. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I brought 4 children for their first check ups in a very long time. The dentist and her assistant were so so lovely to them. Explaining everything as they went along. And being extra attentive to our anxious 9 year old. The receptionist Lotti, really made our experience fantastic, she made it super easy to book us all in at the same time and helped to give proof for the school. Thank you all so much.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service. Lottie the receptionist was very helpful and kind. Absolutely faultless service. The dentist we saw, was so calm and gentle. I had four nervous children who hadn't been seen for a while thanks to cuts and COVID and she was very relaxing and made the children feel calm and at ease. Honestly, I was so nervous taking them but left feeling relieved and reassured.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, had to have a broken tooth removed and saw Amrit, her professionalism and caring approach put me a nervous patient at ease, explaining the process and procedure as she went along. I had a slight complication and had to return a week later, Amrit did not hesitate in providing me with extra pain relief to ensure that I was comfortable, very caring , kind and professional would totally recommend without hesitation!
Fantastic experience: I have had Aurimas Bajoras since I was young (now 21!) wouldn’t want another dentist as he is honest and accommodating and I trust his advice. I would recommend if you are nervy as he is quick but also thorough during check-ups. I agree with the comments about receptionists we all have our good and bad days but remember we are human and nervous too!
Negative experience: My experiences with Thatch Dental Practice have been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. From the interactions with the front desk staff to the consultation with Mr. Aurimas Bajoras, the level of service has been far below expectations. Firstly, the unprofessional behavior of the two young women at the front desk has been consistently frustrating. Their attitude and lack of courtesy create a hostile atmosphere as soon as you walk in. The consultation process with Mr. Bajoras was equally unsatisfactory. When I received a filling, Mr. Bajoras numbed my tooth and then informed me that the cost would be £500. He explained the procedure and had me sign a form. I was not aware of the price beforehand, nor had I received any prior information about the procedure. When I tried to discuss this with Mr. Bajoras, he repeatedly talked over me, making the conversation one-sided and unproductive. Additionally, during a subsequent consultation about veneers and other dental work, we agreed that it would be best for me to wait until I relocated to my next duty station for further dental work. I requested that Mr. Bajoras email me the notes and dental exams to share with my next dentist. However, nearly a month later, I had not received these documents. To make matters worse, I received a call on 11 June 2024 from one of the same unprofessional front desk staff members to schedule an appointment for veneers, despite my previous decision not to proceed with Thatch Dental. I reiterated my request for the notes and exams, and she claimed they had been emailed, advising me to check my spam folder, which I do daily. After our call was disconnected due to bad reception, I attempted to call back, but my call went to voicemail and was not returned. Overall, the atmosphere at Thatch Dental Practice is unwelcoming and unprofessional. I regret not staying with my previous dentist, whose practice, although further away, provided a much higher standard of care and service.
Negative experience: A bit of a background: Monday at work I have been told to give a presentation on Wednesday (unplanned). Phones not allowed during the working hrs, only during breaks. Called on Monday on my first break (lunch time) to cancel my 10 AM appointment on Wednesday. Would've called before work, but I started 8 AM and it was not open yet. Been told I have to pay £25 cancellation fees and another £25 for rescheduling as I haven't cancelled within the 2 working days. I argued the fact that today is Monday, appointment is Wednesday...2 days right? Policies do say 48h. I've missed the cancellation with 2 hours (been told I wouldn't have to pay if I would've called at 10 am) as I had no possibility to call earlier (reason above). It also made no sense, why pay for rescheduling as the appointment was paid in advance, in full, in February. I told reception to cancel it without rescheduling. I will find another hygienist as this is not NHS, can easily find a spot somewhere else. I will also try and find another practice for my NHS treatments. I live a stressful, busy life caring for 2 grandmothers (Alzheimer and Stroke), with both parents also sick and a very busy work life, I might not be able to give them the exact 48h notice as my plans can change from 1 min to another. This was the first ever appointment to cancel/reschedule, attended all appointments in time (for me or my family). How about when I had my filling appointment cancelled and scheduled in a months time (yes, 1 month!) leaving me with a tooth ache for the whole month? Did I complain? No. Did I also complained about this being rescheduled without checking if I was available? No. Indeed, I can call to change the time/date they chose if not suitable, but again, I feel like medical professionals these days are under the impression we do not WORK for a living and can just book/cancel etc at their convenience. And when it is inconvenient for them, you have to pay. Yes, it is in our interest to get our health problems fixed, but I feel like the medical system is really not working in the patients best interest. I will call tomorrow to get my £48 back as the call got interrupted (I was driving) and they never called back. When I tried to call, no answer. By the time I got home, it was closed. You've lost me and my family as a private patient, and hopefully soon as an NHS. Quite happy I didn't book hygienist appointments for the rest of the family (back in Feb when I did mine) as I was unsure of my availability. The information that was given to me verbally (at the moment of booking) and on the phone (at the moment of cancellation) is "2 working days". If cancelling in 46h rather than 48h is subject to a fee, maybe you should inform patients accordingly, in hours, not days. Yes, I did NOT read the policies (most people don't either, let's be honest), it's MY fault, and I will pay for this - but I will not pay another £25 for having it rescheduled. That's £50 on top of the £73 for treatment. For what, 2h? I'm sorry I cannot afford that. I am getting paid £12/h. Your 2h fee is higher than my 2h salary. If the appointment was 2 hours later I would've had a free cancellation. Unfortunately plans changed on Monday, leaving me with not enough time to cancel. That's my luck but I cannot risk my job for £25, even if I wasn't given enough notice myself. Next time, I'll know better. Hopefully next time will never come. I am not looking for a reply to this, I am not looking to get the money back. For me, it would've been better to not be in a situation fuelling my stress. What I am looking for with this is to express my frustration. NB: When looking to get my family registered as NHS, I was initially told on the phone they don't accept new NHS patients. I was already registered and had an appointment the very same day. During the appointment, I've mentioned that I'm struggling to get my family an NHS spot. The doctor told me I should check with reception when we finish as that didn't sound right. Guess what? I went to reception at got 4 family members registered that same day.

In recent times, we have experienced an increase in short notice cancellations, which has impacted our ability to serve all our patients effectively. To ensure that our patients are committed to their appointments and to minimise disruptions caused by last-minute cancellations, we have implemented a policy of taking advance payments universally.
While I acknowledge your consistent attendance and reliability in honouring your appointments, it is essential for us to apply this policy uniformly across all patients for administrative purposes. Regrettably, we are unable to selectively enforce this policy as it would not be feasible from an operational standpoint.
I want to assure you that we are more than willing to accommodate rescheduling requests with a notice of at least two work-days. Your satisfaction and convenience are our top priorities, and we are here to assist you in any way we can.

Fantastic experience: I get quite anxious when I need to go to the dentist. But when I saw Dr Amrit Kaur this morning,and wow what a dentist she was. I was out at ease straight away. Dr Amrit was something else, she was laid back and full of smiles, it was the best dentist visit I have ever had.

Fantastic experience: Always had a fear of dentists since I was a child, but Thatch Dental Practice is brilliant (still have to do deep breathing before I go!). I used to see Dr Bajoras but recently been seeing Amrit Kaur, both these dentists are excellent. Even the injection I find scarey, but I barely felt it and Dr Kaur checked I was ok throughout the treatment. Afterwards, when the anaesthetic wore off I expected some pain or aching jaw, but so far no problems at all. If you find a dentist as good as this, stick with them, they are like gold (especially if you're NHS!!!)

The staff are extra friendly and explained every step of the process to the children, and put them at ease throughout the while appointment. A lovely clean, calm dental surgery, we are pleased to now be a part of the thatch dental clinic.
Fantastic experience: What can I say? This dental surgery is amazing! Myself and both my boys were here for the first time and we all saw Aneesa.We are all nervous patients so didn’t know what to expect. Both Aneesa and her dental assistant (we didn’t get his name,so sorry) were incredible and put us all at ease. Special thanks goes to Lotti (receptionist) for also being amazing at trying to calm my youngest son down as it was the first time he has ever been to a dentist. Thank you to Sarah too (receptionist) for dealing with our next appointments. All staff were amazing,the surgery was very clean and we can’t thank you enough.
Fantastic experience: It was my first time here as a NHS patient. I'm very nervous when going to the dentist but I was made to feel welcome which was a great start. Everything was explained to me as we went along which really helped. The practice is lovely and clean friendly staff with lots of new equipment. I would highly recommend here to anyone. I parked at Sainsbury's but there is a car park near there as well it only took me 5 Mins to walk around the corner. Fantastic experience: Visited Hygienist Abbie and Nurse Prasanna for my first hygiene appointment in years, very professional, explained everything and felt at ease at all times, would also like to praise Receptionists Kassidy & Lotti for being friendly, professional, informative and made for a relaxed experience. Fantastic experience: Today we met Dr. Amrit Kaur and a lovely dental nurse who's name we didn't unfortunately get. They were both absolutely wonderful, reassuring, friendly, and very efficient with plans and options going forward, we now have a plan of action and 3 following appointments to give my Mum her life and smile back. Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, great service. Lottie and Kassidy on reception were very lovely. Lottie noticed my son was scared and straight away tried to speak to him and offered to show him the medical tools dentists use to check their teeth to ease his anxiety. The dentist was so patient and calm with him, only doing as much as he could cope with and didnt push him beyond his comforts which has eased his fears and said he will return again, after a long time of refusing to go. Cannot fault anyone there x

Sammi was very prompt and thorough in getting back to me when I had a question regarding my mat exemption. Lottie arranged my appointments fantastically around my childcare arrangements and Kassidy answered any questions I had and was very knowledgable when talking me through my treatment plan. I felt totally at ease during the whole process and am very grateful for the ongoing care from the whole team. No one looks forward to going to the dentist but they are very welcoming at Thatch. Fantastic experience: I attended the Thatch Dental Practice today as a new patient and was very happy with the treatment I received. I discussed the problems I have been having with Aneesa and she was able to offer me treatment to ensure I was out of pain. The nurse Chelsea was very good with explaining what was happening and very quick to prepare for the treatment. The reception team are lovely and very welcoming, Gemma in particular. Sammi, lotti and kassidy were all absolutely lovely and provide an amazing atmosphere within the practice. Thank you so much to kassidy and sammi for getting me booked in so quickly! Fantastic experience: Meant Dr Paul McMenemy today, what a wonderful gentleman, not only the work he carried out (removal and replacement white filing of broken tooth) but his explanation of what he was doing and how the sugar turning acid over a day works, to ways to look after my teeth was amazing. Fantastic experience: Just had an appointment with the Dentist Aneesa. She is very nice and I’m very satisfied with my treatment.
Negative experience: I would give it a no star if available. I was a NHS patient at the thatch for the better part of 10 years. During the pandemic I had appointments cancelled by the receptionist. I tried to re-book them but wasn't able to due to it being closed. When I was able to finally get a booking after they opened up again I was told AFTER my appointment they were dropping me from the NHS registry due to missed appointments. When I explained that I didn't cancel appointments it was them I was told I would get a callback from the reception supervisor. It never came. I have since went private somewhere else and find the level of care is far superior to the thatch.

How typical!
However, I would like to clarify that this is not the fault of our staff, but rather a
reflection of the challenges many individuals face in finding an NHS dentist. Despite these challenges, we strive to accommodate as many NHS patients as possible, but unfortunately, we are sometimes unable to do so. Under the circumstances, you could have opted for a private appointment as you did with the other dental practice. If you could, you would have taken the NHS dental appointment at the other dental practice, but we all know these are unavailable anywhere - nowhere. Then why slander us?
I want to stress that each and every member of our team at The Thatch Dental works tirelessly to support our patients, especially those who need to access NHS dentists. We take pride in our commitment to NHS dentistry, and we have always provided top-notch private dental care while maintaining our support for the community.
It is disheartening to receive unfair Google reviews that do not reflect the hard work and dedication of our team, and the level of the quality of service we offer every time. We understand that it can be frustrating when you are unable to secure an NHS appointment, but we ask where you can get one. Must you not approach your local Member of Parliament who has the power to make a difference by appropriately funding NHS healthcare? Why cast aspersions on our brand when we can only provide what the government provides us?

Fantastic experience: Went to see the dental hygienist today and I have to say Frankie was excellent, she gave me good advice and she listened to my fears about the ultra sonic cleaner and she turned it down half way for me and I was able to tolerate it much better. Fantastic experience: I took my 4 grandchildren whom I care for to have a long overdue check-up. Srishti Shrivastava was very attentive to their individual needs and made the children feel reassured by her friendly, relaxed manner. Srishti answered questions my granddaughter had and has now referred her to determine whether Invisalignwill benefit my granddaughter. My grandchildren are now not nervous to return for the little treatment they need. It also doesnt smell or feel as clinical as dentists usually tend to and has a clean, calming ambience which is lovely. All staff were polite & efficient too. Deff recommend.

Negative experience: Scheduled an introductory appointment to become a private patient on the books, and paid in advance. Waited a month, for that to then be cancelled by The Thatch. The next appointment they make available is a further 2 months later. Have a subsequent toothache and they refuse to see us as we haven’t yet had an introductory appointment… which they cancelled. Hard to give anything but one star.

Positive experience: Private patient. Although my Dentist and hygenist are great and I couldn't imagine going elsewhere. It feels like it's becoming a regular practice to move appointments (more than once), and to be left waiting in reception for up to an hour without anyone telling you the Dentist is running late. This time around I didn't get to see my dentist because the appointment had been moved twice already and after waiting 30 minutes I couldn't stay any longer. It would be great if reception could let you know as soon as you arrive if waiting times are excessive.

Negative experience: Not very happy just had a email stating me and my children have been removed from their NHS books as apparently we were taken on under a temporary contract in 2018 which I knew nothing about. I had no prior warning this was going to happen now me and my children are left without a dentist. We always attended our appointments I think it's very unprofessional to just let people down like this with no notice. I now have to struggle to find a dentist to take us on. If we was on a temporary contract we should have been made aware and at least notified in advance instead of a final email just saying we were removed it's really not good enough.

Negative experience: My child and many others including Adults have just been removed from this dental practice, even though appointments were never missed and some New appointments were only made yesterday. This is a disgrace there are no dentists around for more than 30 miles.
