mydentist, Hindhayes Lane, Street: Reviews
Negative experience: I will give it 2 stars as the dentist i see is great but after seeing the poster of which i will add we are again being ripped off. I sat there and heard the receptionest saying we are only private to a caller. Im being charged £77 for a clean but my wife was quoted £105 for the same by a hygenist we are both registeted here.so what i saw was this poster which took a photo i says differently as they should only be charging NHS rates. They charge you upfront for an appointment a year in advance a filling over £140 so ripping you off. The team there were all laughing and joking over things in reception making appointments late and a 20 min appointment lasted just over 5 mins. Again we are being ripped off. I also show how much they should cost as per their nhs committment and not their private cost so agin ripping us off. I will be forwarding this to the health secratary and the people who oversee dental practices. I will be asking for a refund on my clean.
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you are happy with your dentist; however, we are sorry that you have concerns regarding your recent visit. We would like to clarify that NHS dental examinations only include a scale and polish where it is deemed clinically necessary by the dentist. Dedicated hygiene appointments are provided on a private basis, which is why charges may differ depending on the treatment provided and the clinician carrying out the service. We are sorry if there was any confusion regarding our fees or the information displayed within the practice. We also take your comments regarding appointment duration and your experience in reception seriously and will review these with our team.
As we cannot discuss individual treatment details publicly, we would encourage you to contact the practice directly and speak with the Practice Manager so we can review your concerns, explain any charges incurred, and investigate the issues you have raised.
Kind regards,
Julie - mydentist Patient Services and Administration Manager

Fantastic experience: Convenient parking, competitive pricing. Easy to book appointments. Wide range of services. Sadie is a great hygienist. Friendly, thorough and puts you at ease. Reassuring to know I have this service on my doorstep when I need it.
Hi Helena. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience! Thank you for highlighting our convenient parking, competitive pricing, and services.

Negative experience: Popped in to check the prices for a consultation and they want £79 up front. Apparently it's bcos I haven't seen the dentist at this practice for 2 years, so now am seen as a new patient, despite them having all my previous dental records. Please take no notice of the price list they have put online, bcos they don't have a different price for NHS patients who have to pay privately.
I am sorry to hear your concerns regarding our upfront payment policy. This a mydentist wide policy and pre-payment have been standard practice at mydentist for several years. I apologise if this is the first time this has been applied at your practice.
Kind Regards
mydentist Patient Support Team
Negative experience: Dreadful. Was told I needed a tooth guard due to teeth grinding and was asked to pay £276 upfront and was told I would get a call in two weeks once they were ready. It has now been almost 8 weeks and I have heard absolutely nothing and having to get the payment returned via my credit card company. Reception could not help and said I had to write a formal complaint in order to apply for a refund! Avoid this practice as they are badly run and I no longer trust them. I was also paying £32 monthly which should include 4 hygienist appointments a year and every time I tried to book one (three attempts to book an appointment) they wouldn't give me one and said I had to ask a dentist directly. This was very strange. What an awful practice. I have cancelled my direct debit and will find a better dentist elsewhere. I should imagine most dentists are better than this one. They just want your money and do not care about the service they provide.
We are very sorry to receive your 1-star review, I can see from our records that you have recently contacted mydentist about this matter and this has since been resolved.

Negative experience: I have been with this practice for nearly 18 years when we returned to Somerset. I have never missed an appointment or payment, have always been polite and only once needed an emergency appointment, attending hygienist and dentist regularly. Today I was refused an appointment even though by protocols I should have been seen. The charge was double other practices and money was demanded up front. No dentist could even be bothered to reassure me on the phone despite my pre existing health issues.
We are sorry to receive your review and comments. Having looked over the clinicians diary for the day in question there were no appointments left but you were advised to call back in the morning first thing so we could book you the emergency slot for that day. Our pre-bookable appointments that you were advised of following this can only be booked with a deposit and therefore this was refused by yourself. We are sorry if the process was not explained effectively but if you wish to call the practice we would be happy to book an appointment for you.
Kind regards,
Julie - mydentist Patient Services Team Leader
Fantastic experience: I have just returned home from a "Sparkle Clean" (Sand Blasting I think they call it) given by Sadie and I am impressed with the result, I normally have the classic clean. I have stuck with Sadie for a few years now I always feel at ease with her and I have not with others I have seen, possibly because of the trust I have in her of getting the job done while she is very aware of sensitive areas. Not sure how she knows because we are all different possibly a lot of experience and good at reading body language ? Dentist and hygienists are very expensive and the Sparkle clean is no exception but if you need your teeth cleaned and you can find the money I would recommend Sadie and the Sparkle Clean.
Hi Chris. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Sparkle Clean treatment and your continued trust in Sadie. We're pleased to hear that you were impressed with the results and appreciate your recommendation. It's wonderful to know that Sadie's expertise and attentiveness to your comfort have made such a positive impact on your dental hygiene visits over the years.

Negative experience: I would give zero if I could ! Avoid ! I was advised my treatment would cost over 5 k for private dental work .. with it being private treatment Being a substantial amount it’s taken me over a year to save for the treatment ; I paid for the treatment plan and sent approximately 5 thousand three hundred and fifty pounds - upon having an updated check up my “ treatment plan “ was now deemed “ unsuitable ~ I asked for my money back as I’d only had two 10 minute check ups - I wish I’d read the reviews - I asked for my money back naturally as I wasn’t having the treatment ; ( this was Thursday nov 7th ) and I was advised my refund would be completed on weds 13 th November - I wasn’t impressed it should take 6 days for a refund as a bank transfer can be done in minutes - max 2 hours I went back to the surgery advising that my refund hasn’t materialised to be informed some cock and bull story that it will take longer due to unforeseen circumstances ! Since then I’ve been fobbed off and not given a date for my refund ! There is a cost of living crisis ! I don’t have over 5 k hanging around to leave in a dental surgery ; worryingly I was advised they were unable to let me know when I will get my refund ( as if it doesn’t matter - in a blase fashion I will insist I get my money back - but all of this has caused me unnecessary stress ! I wish I had never set foot in this awful establishment… avoid ! Like the plague ! I wish I’d read the reviews .. as I wouldn’t have entertained this awful excuse of a dental surgery … the whole experience has been awful and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody ! - I mistaken thought as they are a large concern that they were Bonafide - not the case and they have caused me unnecessary anguish ! I would never recommend this sorry excuse of a dental surgery ! I just want my money back .. so I can forget this nightmare
Dear Ursula
Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. I can see from your records that this has now been rectified.

Negative experience: Had a ‘hygienist’ appointment in Jan 2022 and all she did was poke my teeth with a piece of metal stating they couldn’t do the whole procedure due to covid! I mean come on! You are already 2 inches from my face!! I was sent on my way after 2 minutes of sitting in the chair. I would have kept my £50 if I was told this on the phone when making the appointment!!
We are very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the services you received from our Practice. I would like to apologise for your experience and recommend that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager about your experience.
Kind Regards,
{my}dentist Patient Support Team
Negative experience: Not recommended for nervous patients. My first appointment: left waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment time. My second appointment: again left waiting after my appointment time, this time by 20 minutes....and then the receptionist called me over to say my appointment had been cancelled. Have taken my custom elsewhere.
We are sorry to receive your 1 star review and apologise for the extended wait time. Although we work hard to keep appointments to time, regrettably there can be emergency cases, or unexpected events in treatments, that may cause appointments to overrun. Where this occurs, we would expect that patients are kept fully informed and offered the option to re-arrange. If on this occasion the reception team failed to do so, please accept our sincere apologies. Please be assured I will discuss your review with the Practice Manager and if training gaps are identified, we will ensure that further training is put into place with our staff.
Kind regards

Negative experience: Spent the best part of an hour trying to get through to a receptionist to register my son as an NHS patient because the NHS website said they were accepting new patients. When I got through was told they don’t even have any NHS dentists. Firstly, waste of my time and undoubtedly I’m not the only one. Secondly, dentists should have an obligation to provide some NHS care, the fact they can turn down the grants the government provides shows how much money they can make by exploiting people by providing essential services and shows the grants are insufficient; not to mention the disregard of their moral obligation which evidently means nothing.
Dear Will, thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the service provided by our Street dental practice. I understand how frustrating it can be as a mother of young children myself, I know the importance of their dental care. Our Street dental practice currently does not have a Clinician to offer NHS care, there are vacancies open for this and we are offering enhanced packages to encourage dentists to join the team and provide NHS care however, to date, we have not been successful in fulfilling the role. Whilst we have a vacancy open for an NHS dentist, the patients that were currently on the NHS active list will receive any emergency care they require however, routine NHS appointments have been put on hold until we have an NHS dentist to provide the care. The website for this practice does state we are accepting new patients, this is referring to private patients as there is capacity to accept new private patients. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused. If your child requires emergency care please call NHS 111 and they will be happy to assist you. I trust my explanation has provided some clarity. Kind regards Leanne Patient Support Administrator
Negative experience: Not given x-ray when had 3 areas of pain. After waiting nearly 2 years for next appointment dentist went private.
Hi Sherrie, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the service you received by our practice. If you would like your concerns regarding the lack of care provided to you during your visit investigating, please contact the Practice Manager, following the complaints procedure a response will be provided. The majority of our Clinicians work at mydentist on a self employed basis, therefore, they have the freedom to choose what type of care they provide. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Kind regards Leanne
Fantastic experience: Fantastic treatment. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Hi Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review. We look forward to welcoming you back to mydentist for your next appointment.

Negative experience: Absolutely let down by them. Despite being in AGONY all over Christmas and being a cancer patient with an emergency they prioritised others over me and don't even have the decency to call you back when they promise to. I don't write bad reviews ever but have been let down badly enough and left in a pickle to warrant writing this. Really feel like making a complaint about how I've been treated.
We are very sorry to receive your 1-star review and would very much appreciate the opportunity to investigate this further for you. Please email [email protected] with further details and we will investigate your concerns and provide you with a response.

Positive experience: NO LONGER DOING ANY NHS TREATMENT I've been with MyDentist for a number of years now and they've always been great. Unfortunately I recently received a letter saying that their dentists are no longer doing any NHS work. This is due to years of NHS under-funding by the Tories (that bit wasn't in the letter, but the information is easily accessible).
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused in relation to your treating dentist no longer providing NHS treatment. Your dentist has taken the decision to no longer offer dental services on the NHS. Where routine NHS provision is not currently available, your practice will be able to offer alternative private options. We hope that these alternatives will allow you to access dental care at this time. Please contact the practice should you require more information, so they can discuss with you your needs.
Kind regards,
{my}dentist Patient Support Team
Negative experience: My 15 minute checkup was cancelled with an hour and a halfs notice back in March - apparently my dentist was seeing emergency patients. I was thanked by a very pleasant receptionist for being so understanding - I was actually very nice and said I felt sorry for her that she and the other staff were most probably on the receiving end of quite abusive calls at the moment - although obviously I was inwardly annoyed to be told so late on. I was told to ring back in a couple of months to rearrange. Alarm bells were ringing as I couldn't understand why I had to wait before rebooking, but the phone call caught me by surprise. So yesterday I rang to make an appointment. A very different receptionist answered - well, let's just say that she could do with some training as to how she speaks to people. Matter of fact, rude, talking down to me as if I was nothing - like something she had stepped in. Even this morning, I still feel so upset with the complete lack of empathy regarding how she told me that my dentist in fact left 3 weeks ago. I told her (not shouted - spoke - all the time reiterating that I wasn't complaining to her personally) that the whole situation was disgusting and I knew this would happen - they should just have been honest with me from the start. The phone went dead. I rang back asking why the phone had been put down on me, but she thought I had ended the call!? I said no I hadn't and I seriously needed to know what to do with my notes and that of my child. I have been with Vine for around 14 years and will now have to go private and find a dentist elsewhere - after how I have been treated, they have lost two further patients - not that I think that they actually care!!
As you may be aware, we do have several dentist vacancies at your practice and are actively trying to recruit. Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult. There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area. However, we are looking at all options to attract and re-locate dentists to your practice. Please be assured that the vacancies are not through any lack of trying or apathy on our part, purely that recruiting dentists, is proving difficult.
However, whilst we are recruiting, if you experience a dental emergency, e.g. pain, swelling or bleeding then you can still contact the practice and they will triage your symptoms and advise you how obtain emergency assistance until the practice is fully staffed.
Kind Regards
{my}dentist Patient Support Team
Negative experience: Very poor service - expected to pay twice for the same examination as they have a new dentist. Zero communication from them, under-staffed. My advice - go elsewhere. Before the cut and paste response comes, no Im not going to get in touch with the practice manager for two reasons; firstly, they are supposed to be contacting me to sort this out and secondly you can never get through
Hi Emma,
I am sorry to receive your 1* review. I would appreciate if you could contact our Patient Support department at Head Office on [email protected] or call to discuss your current issue if this has not already been resolved with the Practice Manager.
I have looked on your record and cannot see the details relating to your current problem so would require more information to enable any form of advice or resolution within this response.
Kind Regards,

Positive experience: Although waiting time was around a month for an appointment it was considerably less time than the NHS waiting list! I had my first ever filling booked in and some protective sealants. Work took place over two appointments which I booked two weeks apart. I know some people are fearful of the dentist but my work was completely pain free. Everything was explained to me from start to finish. I'm so happy with my gold filling - I've been pain free ever since and it was worth every penny. Thank you to my lovely dentist and his assistant for making my experience comfortable.
I'm happy to hear your treatment went well, It’s wonderful to read your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to {my}dentist for your next appointment.

Negative experience: Could not give us an appointment for a minor for far far too long. Really terrible service. Appalling in fact. She has had to go elsewhere to be seen what kind of service is this for children?

Negative experience: Terrible, avoid! I WAS a patient, phoned during lockdown was told I couldn't have an appointment. Tried to make another appointment after lockdown to be told that I'd been de-registered as I hadn't attended for 2 years, then told I couldn't re-register as they are full!!! I found this to be rather heartless, I have been avoiding NEEDED dental appointments to ease their burden, and this is how they treat me! Total lack of compassion. The dentist I used to see was insulting with terrible bedside manner, but still better than no dentist!!
We are sorry to receive your 1* review, due to the details left on the response we are unable to find the details for the patient you are referring to and will therefore be unable to respond accordingly. If you could please contact the practice and speak with the Practice Manager, they will be able to discuss your concerns and any subsequent feedback that the clinician in the instance may have.

Fantastic experience: I have had several appointments at this dental surgery and have been amazed by the service Mehrdad Soheili has provided. I do have a phobia of dentists from an unlucky experience from when I was younger. Mehrdad has completly reinstilled my faith in dentistry. I now have a beautifully fitted silver crown on my rear molar. Not once did Mehrdad cause me any pain and I'm very satisfied! Thank you Mehrdad, I would have left 6 stars if could.
I'm sorry to hear of your phobia but am very pleased that we are trusted to provide your dental care. Mehrdad will be thrilled to see your review.

Fantastic experience: Many thanks to ALL the team for the 1st class treatment i received last night. At the end of a busy day for the staff, i was given a painless tooth extraction, all within 1 hour of phoning for treatment. I have always received excellent service with My Dentist and would highly recommend them. Many thanks.
I'm so happy to hear of your experience and that your dental issue was resolved so quickly. Thank you for your 5-star review and recommendation.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist, lovely people and well looked after. Had some troubling pain and was seen very quickly by Jae, who has done amazingly in restoring my tooth. Followed up by Sadie for some cleaning. She is the best dental hygienist. Highly recommend. Thanks everyone!
Its lovely to hear that you trust the practice with your dental care. Thank you so much for your review and recommendation.

Negative experience: Tried to make an emergency appointment in June, ignored, fobbed off, made an appointment for 3 months in Sep. Came in Sep told I needed 2 fillings, made appointment- December! Came in December another filling has fallen out. Dentist said don’t have time to do two fillings, made another appointment now March till I get that one. Now I have toothache around original issue. Reticent to call - cos they just say take paracetamol- I have a high pain threshold. Not a joke. Whether private or NHS - we’re still customer…
We are very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the communication you received from our Practice. I would like to apologise for your experience and recommend that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager about your experience

Negative experience: Ridiculous service! I've been hugely let down. I've been with them on the NHS for the past few years, been going for regular check ups and appointments... My dentist left months ago and still hadn't been replaced. Got a letter in the post basically telling me today that she's left and offering me to go private with another dentist. Ok they offered me a payment plan but it's not right/ fair to force patients out of NHS dental care and into private because a dentist left. I shall be going private but won't be giving my money to them. I've never felt particularly welcome there anyway
Negative experience: Went today and I've never come across a rude dentist. He is Chinese and very rough with push down and the pain from a scale and polish . He was rude and refused to listen to anything I said ( No people skills ) I'm going to look for another dentist . Beware if you go here as I nearly passed out and he didn't even care . Just abruptly rude .
We are very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the services you received from our Practice. I would like to apologise for your experience and recommend that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager about your experience.

Negative experience: Terrible terrible experience having a tooth pulled by jae not only did he put me in excruciating pain, he said it was my fault that root canal couldn’t be done due to leaving the treatment longer than 3 months. When I explained I couldn’t find a dentist after the pandemic to finish the work he explained to me I should have payed to go private, I explained that the nerve was removed in an emergency appointment in the same dentist by a dentist called murdad he said “no not here you did” which I did as it’s the only dentist I can get to. Not everyone has the money to go private especially in current circumstances therefore I was waiting for nhs books to open up. I left the surgery in shock and tears because of the pain he put me through. If you need treatment avoid him
We are very sorry to receive your 1 star review, however we are unable to find you as a patient at this practice. If you wish to discuss this matter, please contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager about your experience. If you have incorrectly added the review to the wrong practice could I ask that you, please remove it.

Negative experience: Had a cracked tooth and unable to eat or drink due to the sensitivity of the tooth. Couldn't be seen until 24th of January and also not classed as an emergency. Terrible service.
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the time it takes to get an appointment at our practice. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately, appointments are in extremely high demand at this time and our dentist’s diaries are fully booked. Please be assured we are working hard to increase our appointment availability and see our patients as soon as possible.
Kind regards,

Negative experience: Nothing but problems with this dentist carrying out very poor quality work. I first used this dentist 10 years ago and they were fine. But this year, I’ve had a filling last less than 5 months. The temporary one has also now fallen out because there wasn’t a member of staff available to do a permanent one. Reception staff are stressed and I’m sure they have to deal with a lot of abuse, but I’m made to feel like I’m asking for the world when I phone to make an appointment and that it’s an inconvenience to talk to me. I hope they fix the mistake they made on my teeth. It’ll be a two week wait because I have to wait until payday to pay for my treatment (even though I’m an NHS patient and should be offered it for free because it’s well within 12 months of the original treatment).
We are very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the services you received from our Practice. I would like to apologise for your experience and recommend that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager about your experience.

Fantastic experience: Well another really good experience.. I was really traumatised when I knew a had to have an old wisdom tooth extracted. I made a right fuss to be honest. I had an awful time when I had extraction some years ago when living in Reading and I swore I'd never have another tooth out unless I was under general anaesthetic. Mircea was fantastic (even when I arrived and couldn't go through with it) he talked to me, showed me the xray and said it would be OK. So today I arrived (2nd appointment) very upset and in pain. I can honestly say why did I worry! Didn't even feel the injections, and tooth came out in 20 seconds. Tonight I feel really well, no pain and really thankful to Mircea for his care and attention. Also the ladies on reception are lovely and friendly, makes a real difference. Apex is the best dentists I've ever been to. Thank you
Thank you for such a wonderful review. It is very much appreciated. I am so very pleased to read your positive comments for Mircea and the practice team.
we look forward to welcoming you back to the practice for your next appointment

Negative experience: The worst dental practice ever!! Incompetent in every way. When I visited last time, dentist looked in my mouth, couldn't do x-ray because of electrical failure, still charged me the full amount and then I got a fine through the post because even though I paid they'd logged me as claiming benefits, when I wasn't!! Had to send proof of payment, lot of stress and unnecessary waste of time. Wasn't able to book an appointment due to covid, no one kept me informed on when I could book an appointment and today I've been told that they took me off the books, because I two years have lapsed, obviously to not fault of my own!! Terrible experience and very unhelpful staff. Don't even think about posting your poor answer below the practice failed me in every way and refused me appointments and let two years lapse and now is my fault? I've attended every single appointment thank you very much!! You're the waste of time not me!!! Good try!! Pathetic in every way, your reply is false and useless like your service.
I am sorry to hear that we are unable to offer you any further appointments, although we will always take into account personal circumstances, where patients fail to attend or cancel appointments with no/limited notice on a frequent basis, it will impact on the practice both in terms of cost and wasted surgery time. Therefore, it is with regret that we are unable to continue to offer dental services to these patients.
Kind regards,

Negative experience: I used this practice a few years ago and the Greek one did such a bad job and thought he has got away with it however it does not work like that anymore, best you stay clear. I can see your reply ,It has not since been resolved at all your so unprofessional and dishonest. I just wished I had read all the other 1 star reviews before I was a victim of this practice . I would like to advise anybody who might be considering using this practice to pay with a credit card as you will have greater consumer rights and can claim a refund within 3 months if it goes wrong yet again.
We are very sorry to receive your 1 star review, we can see from our records that you have corresponded with out Patient Support Team and this issue has since been resolved therefore we can not respond further. We do however thank you for taking the time to leave this review.

Negative experience: My filling fell out only 6 months after it was done, and it is causing me serious pain below the teeth next to it - the receptionist advised me to take pain killers and wait for a month to be seen, as they are very busy, even though I informed her that the tooth's root had been removed and I am worried about loosing other teeth due to infection - to that she replied that I should wait until there is a noticeable inflammation on my face - a very irresponsible and dismissive attitude - time to find a better dentist!
We are very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the services you received from our Practice. I would like to apologise for your experience and recommend that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager about your experience.

Negative experience: Like quiet a few other people, my son & I have been removed from their NHS register due to not having had treatment for 2 1/2 years. So, because we avoided Dental Treatment due to a PANDEMIC where we have been told to avoid visiting unless in an emergency. I am now struggling to find another NHS dentist - It was hard enough to organise an appointment with a hectic job, and we are not in a financial situation where private is an option. Disgusted that this is how patients are treated now, never mind removing an 11 year old from being able to get treatment. No Letters, no emails, no warning. Nothing.
Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, as this practice is already at maximum capacity for NHS patients, they are currently unable to offer you an NHS place. In some practices where we have no NHS appointment capacity, we do have alternative private options for patients to access dentistry, outside of the practices NHS contractual obligations. We will always offer patients this option as an alternative, so our patients can make an informed choice on their dental care.

Negative experience: I have been a patient of this practise since it opened; along with the rest of my family. Due to covid and backlog of appointments i have been trying without success to book a check up for months. When i call today am told i am no longer a patient; this seems utterly ridiculous. My daughter now doesn't have access to her orthodontic plan as we have no NHS referral. Communication of the intention to remove us would have been nice or communication that we were now able to book check ups would have been helpful. We received appointment reminders so this should not have been an issue to communicate out to your loyal patients. disgusting way to treat patients; very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I had a really deep cavity in my upper wisdom tooth and was in pain, no other dentist around could get an appointment to see me other than the following month but I was able to see a dentist here within a week of phoning. After my check up, I was then able to quickly book the following week for a large filling to be done. I had to go private due to lack of NHS spaces but the fees are very reasonable and the treatment and care I received was excellent. I went for the composite filling method which in my opinion is much better than amalgam. I am informed that an upper wisdom tooth filling is quite difficult but my dentist Jae made an excellent job of it and it was relatively pain free! I will be definitely using this surgery again and would highly recommend. Thank you My Dentist Street and Jae and his assistant (sorry didn’t ask your name).
Good Afternoon
Thank you for your 5 star review which I will share with the Practice Team.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the practice for your next appointment.

Fantastic experience: I've got a special birthday coming up the beginning of August and wanted a new denture plate for 3 teeth to replace my old one of 13yrs. We started the process the end of June for me to have them in time for my birthday party for the 1st week of August. My dentist Merhdad and his dental nurse were fantastic!! At one point I didn't think I'd get them in time as my dentist had to self isolate for 2 weeks. He got me back in the surgery the morning he came back and long story short I picked up my new plate this afternoon so happy and so grateful for Merhdad for getting them done in time. You're a Star. MASSIVE THANKS!!!
Good Afternoon Nicola

Negative experience: I went to the Street Dental Practice in May all staff seem grumpy and inexperienced. I reacted out of pain when the assistant cut my lip with some kind of sand blasting Device. Must be said that this nurse could have displayed better hand to eye coordination in order to do her job properly... And I get rudely spoken to for simply reacting to the assault on my lip. All I said was F#&@ out loud and the two sensitive pair of NHS staff were so offended that I had to leave the premises I wasn't directing any hostility towards them at all and they kicked me out way early and didn't get my scale and polish finished off after paying £80 for a half finished attempt of doing their own bloody job..

Fantastic experience: I called this practice as I had broken a tooth which I knew would need to come out. After going online and through the 111 website it advised to speak to a dentist within six hours. Having only moved to the area recently I hadn't yet registered with a dentist practice, and so had to call to arrange an emergency NHS consultation. The dentist called me back inside an hour, and we did a phone consultation, asking questions not just about the injury, but also about my general health and regular medications. As I wasn't in pain they couldn't get me in straight away, but they did arrange for me to go in the next available appointment, and took payment over the phone; as an NHS patient I paid the standard emergency charge. I was given instructions on how to arrive in a covid-19 safe way. Having had a previous bad experience at a practice, I was slightly nervous as I went in for the tooth extraction, but i had no need; the dentist and dental nurse were both lovely and talked me through everything before they did anything. I couldn't be happier with the work and the team.
Good morning,
Thank you for your 5 star review and for taking the time to leave your lovely feedback, which will be shared with the practice team.
Many thanks,

Negative experience: I signed up as an NHS patient and had a root canal there. I have intermittent pain every few weeks / months (understandable, it can happen). What isn't understandable is why they never contacted me to either remind me I needed an appointment to keep up my NHS status, or to tell me they had dumped me off their system after 2 years of not seeing them. I only found out because I called them when I needed treatment for pain from the original procedure, and now I don't have a dentist!
Good morning,

Negative experience: Very disappointing went in needing 8 fillings apparently (one dentist told me) one being a broken tooth. Left it longer than normal due to personal issues. Went back was told I need 4 by a rude female dentist. I went back to get the broken tooth sorted. I went in a little nervous asking what she was going to do with that tooth. And she rather angrily stated " no that's too complicated " and said she was doing other fillings I didn't even know where she didn't say. She then continued to numb my 'face' not tooth and gums my face! She injected twice into my cheek and my cheek went numb upto my eye I could still feel my tooth and the area around it. So she did two fillings in one go. Again I wasn't told and it hurt so badly she got very frustrated with me when I was moaning in pain. Never have I been treated like this. She offered more pain meds but put it in the same place so my eye lid went numb not the inside of my mouth. She was rude and unpleasant when I was clearly nervous. I still have a painful broken tooth I need out. But have been too scared to get it done. Obviously I will be going to another dentist.

Negative experience: Absolutely rubbish place to go to have your tooth pulled out after the older lady Italian dentist in which I couldn't understand a word she was saying the tooth was badly decayed refused to put it out left me in pain for a whole week one word of advice do not use the vine dental surgery
Negative experience: Awful older lady dentist. Very very rude!! I left half way through my first ever appointment there. She needs to train in best practice customer service!! Appalled and haven't returned
Negative experience: After taking a impression and a considerable amount of painful drilling to prepare for a crown, I returned to have more discomfort owing to it's poor fit, however eventually after more intrusive adjusting of which the dentist said was due to a problem with the initial impression, the crown was fitted, however due to what I can only put down to poor workmanship the tooth attracts all sorts of food debris and causes lots of discomfort.I was also told the crown would only be available in silver on the NHS unless I paid an extra £250 on top of which I had already paid, after checking on the NHS website they stated a number of materials were available including white, this and the fact that teeth are white and not silver makes me questions the integrity of the dentist on charging this extra amount. I have raised all the above issues with the practice after completing a questionnaire sent to my phone however they have failed to reply. I do not recommend this practice and will be seeking treatment else where, I also wonder why the NHS does not check or audit work carried out under there funding to make sure the patient receives quality treatment funded by the tax payer.
Positive experience: The GP's at the Vine are very good especially Dr Vriend.
Negative experience: Horrendous bedside manner, tried to tell me that a scale and polish wasn't included in NHS treatment even though it was circled on my form. Had to talk him into doing the scale and he didn't provide me with goggles. Kept digging the machine into my gums which I've never experienced with any dentist before. When I asked about a polish on the front he refused and patronisingly asked me if I "understood the difference between plaque and staining". Didn't offer any advice for a tooth I've been having problems with. Will not be attending again. Very unhappy with the service.
Negative experience: I have been a patient at this dentist for 2 years. I haven’t had the best experiences with the staff at this establishment and I have tried to resolve these issues, with no avail. When I first went to the dentist, I had 2 fillings done - 1 fell out and the other one they did wasn’t done properly as all the decay wasn’t taken out. I have now been referred to have the tooth extracted. Which was my only option and wasn’t due to a fault of mine. I then went to have more work done, 6 months or so later, I then had to change dentists as the one I originally saw had apparently left - I wasn’t told, I turned up to find a different dentist. This new dentist didn’t put me at ease, my sessions with him I cried throughout. I’m a nervous patient and try very hard to stay composed but this dentist upset me immensely. When asking to have the gum numbed before the injection, he said he was and then jammed the needle in to the back of my jaw. The pain was incredible, I couldn’t move my jaw properly for several days after. During this particular session, he wished to do 3 or 4 fillings and a extraction - in a 20 minute appointment!! I allowed the fillings but refused the extraction and he some how got all this work done in this time frame. My one filling he did collapsed within a couple months. I rang up to have this sorted and asked to move dentists as I didn’t feel comfortable going to him again. I advised the receptionist what was wrong and what I needed to have done (I’m obviously not a professional but advised that some of the filling wasn’t there). When going to see the new dentist - a lovely one I must add - he got the old filling out, which pinged out and made me choke and replaced it. He said as it’s now such a deep filling, if it goes wrong again it will have to be a root canal. Plus, I also had to have another filling the previous dentist did filled as it was so sharp, it was damaging my tongue. Once again, I may have to pay the price due to others work. When the paperwork was being completed, the dental nurse said it would be free as it was covered by my warranty as it’s happened in such a short space of time. The dentist was quick to correct and said I would have to pay band 2 as it wasn’t covered as I moved dentist. The receptionist never explained this to me and neither did the dentist until it was completed. I refused to pay until I spoke to the practice manager. The practice manager was friendly and was patient enough to listen to me speak. Especially after I had to chase up the call, after I rang back both times they left a message, I still had to remind them to call me. I believed after the ordeal I have had and the fact that I had told the receptionist what was wrong - clearly - that I didn’t think I should pay. However, the short of the 15 minute conversation was that, if I don’t pay, the dentist won’t get paid. If they were to submit a warranty claim to the NHS, it would be rejected and I would still need to pay as I had moved dentists. They only guarantee the dentist who did the work, not the tooth. Unless the dentist leaves the practice for example, etc etc. Who am I to deny someone Payment, it wasn’t there fault, they have done there job. However, I am now the one stuck with the £57 bill to pay, even though my filling collapsed, due to no fault of my own - confirmed by the dentist and having numerous previous issues, having to chase the practice manager and never complaining before about the work that had been done. I’m terrified of going to the dentist for many reasons but my new one is: I fear going as I worry I will have to go back again to have the work they do corrected and having to pay again for it. All I say to people thinking of coming here: talk to people who go here.
Fantastic experience: Whet to dentist this morning , first time with this practice and they were amazing, made me very welcome and as I am not a not very good at dentist they made me relax and at ease. I had a tooth removed. Will recommend these 100%
Fantastic experience: Had a back tooth out and a front one capped. First time ever I have been able to have work done and not feel frightened. Maria was really good and made me feel at ease.
