Fantastic experience: I honestly couldnt thank andra and her assistant more. They were both so lovely and kind and incredible work done. The reception staff were also very lovely. I left feeling a new person today thank you to you both I more than appreciate the work you did.

Positive experience: After recently moving to Helston, I was pleased to find a local dentist with immediate appointment availability. They weren’t accepting new NHS patients, so I opted for private treatment instead. The introductory check-up cost £45, which I thought was very reasonable. On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly female dentist who made me feel at ease. She carried out a thorough examination, including X-rays, as I’d been experiencing some pain with my wisdom teeth. Following this, she recommended booking in with the hygienist. I was impressed that they could offer a hygienist appointment the very next day. This was with a different dentist, and while the clean itself was fine, it felt quite quick — around 20 minutes — which made the £80 cost feel a bit on the steep side. Overall, I’m happy to have joined this practice, especially given how easy it is to get an appointment, which can be difficult to find locally.

Fantastic experience: Andra is always very nice and welcoming. Always makes you feel at ease which helps if your anxious about going to the dentist! Always talks through steps so your aware of what’s being done which really helps with my nerves:) x

Fantastic experience: The dentist I’ve had for my 3 emergency appointments has been amazing, he’s sorted my teeth out to the point I feel like I can smile again which means the absolute world to me. I highly recommend this dental practice!

Fantastic experience: As a family we have been with Smile Helston since they opened. The treatment my two children have recently received has been amazing. One of my children especially, needed alot of work to prepare for braces to be fitted and all was done promptly using cancelled (by other patients) appointments and booked appointments to ensure we could align with the orthodontic appointments so they could get their braces fitted asap. The dentist that originally referred my children for braces is sadly no longer working at Smile but I am so thankful she predicted that they would need them and put the referral in when she did, as by the time my children finish school their braces should be off, and the wait list is ever growing. Our current dentist, Younes, is amazing and he always has a wonderful dental nurse working with him too. The receptionists are always helpful, if I call, I leave a message and they call back as soon as they can.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic practice at Helston, especially for anyone that is a very nervous patient like myself!! I am disabled and have numerous health issues as well as having severe anxiety and the practice has gone above and beyond to make things as accessible and as easy for me as they can. Mel on reception is absolutely wonderful, kind caring and helpful. And Andra the dentist always puts me at ease and makes the whole process during the check up/ treatment as stress free as possible, being very patient and understanding throughout.

Fantastic experience: I have recently had to make several trips to the dentist. The receptionists have been amazing, friendly and helpful, it makes such a difference! Nothing was too much trouble, appointments were so easy to make, either that day or the day after where possible. When they couldn't contact me, the appointment was made and I was just asked to phone and cancel if it wasn't suitable - what more can you ask?

Negative experience: Any time I’ve gone to reception or called up, I’ve consistently been met with incredibly rude and hostile behaviour—specifically from the reception staff. On multiple occasions, they’ve been dismissive, cold, and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I recently left a voicemail and never received a call back. Strangely, my stepdad called shortly after me and was called back immediately. That felt personal, and honestly quite upsetting. During one visit in December, I was simply trying to clarify whether I was still an NHS patient and why I had been switched to private. The receptionists couldn’t give me a clear explanation—and instead of helping, they smirked, rolled their eyes at each other, and made me feel completely embarrassed. I left in tears and had a breakdown outside. It was humiliating and deeply hurtful. My mum was so shocked she reported the incident to the CQC. Dental care is already stressful for many people—especially those with anxiety, past trauma, or mental health issues—and this practice failed to offer even the bare minimum of kindness or professionalism. I’m now moving to a new dentist, and I sincerely hope this practice takes accountability and treats future patients with more compassion.

Negative experience: Had an emergency dental appointment with this dentist who insisted I needed a root canal which I said I couldn't afford so asked them to remove the tooth. The dentist insisted that it was best to get the root canal and they would put it through NHS rates but I was charged over £200 only to have the tooth removed a few weeks later at a different dentist who queried why I'd had a root canal in the first place when the tooth was never going to be viable. It also meant that I ended up with an Infection in my jaw all for a procedure that was never going to work. I've since had a similar experience at another Smile dentist elsewhere so seems it's a policy of the company to rip off patients and charge them for unnecessary procedures

Negative experience: I got a filling in a tooth that I never had any pain in before and a couple of days later I experienced an extreme amount of pain in that tooth I went back a week after the filling to be told that the filling was to close to the nerve and it got infected and now needed a root canal and a crown! I paid £100 deposit for root canal but decided to get it done at a different dentist as I lost trust in this dentist and requested a refund 2 months months ago and have contacted them multiple times but they aren’t doing anything to resolve this issue and I still have not received the refund. The first few times I went to this dentist I thought it was okay, not amazing but okay, not often on time and not the most welcoming but I can look past that but since a treatment going wrong and since going to a different dentist I can really tell the difference. The only good thing I can think about this dentist is that it’s slightly cheaper than other dentists, get what you pay for I guess

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but praise for Madiha Jamal, the dentist that I have been seeing for the last year or so. She is a lovely lady and a very capable dentist. She and her assistant have provided a friendly, calm service and I am very happy with the results. I wish her the best in her future Thank you Madiha.

Fantastic experience: Smile dental practice has really raised it's standards. Fantastic treatment and lovely staff , especially Younes, the dentist. Can't fault them.

Negative experience: Rubbish. Daughter age 9 and 5 are with this dentist had a appointment yesterday we was 4 minutes late as my 7month daughter was sick all over herself and car seat, odviously had to change her. Went through the door at the dentist receptionist was on the phone we stood and waiting patiently for 2-3 minutes. After the lady was finished on the phone I said sorry we're a little late, my baby was sick all over herself I had to change her. To the be told the dentist won't see you as your late for your daughters appointment. It makes me laugh everytime we have been to this dentist we are alway waiting minimum of 15 minutes and have waited up to 40 minutes before! But it is ok for them to be late getting you in every single time! I have obviously put a complaint in

Negative experience: RUDE, DISMISSIVE RECEPTIONIST. DISABILITY NOT GIVEN ANY COMPASSION OR UNDERSTANDING. Whilst waiting in the reception for my partner in his appointment, a woman arrived for her appointment with a young woman in a large wheelchair. As she struggled to get through the door, and before I jumped up to help her in, the receptionist called over in an officious tone, that she was twenty minutes late and that the dentist was probably not going to see her. She stood in the doorway, obviously exhausted and shocked, and explained that she had rung reception to tell them that she was running late, and asked if she could check with the dentist. After lots of huffs, raising of eyebrows, and obviously no shared compassion, the receptionist left to check with the dentist. I helped the woman into the reception. After seeing my concern, the woman said that the wheelchair had collapsed, and she had struggled, but had rung to explain. When the receptionist returned, she said that the dentist would see her this time, but, if it happened again, she’d have to turn her away. When asked further questions, the receptionist refused to acknowledge them, and gave the client the silent treatment, which left me with the impression that she got some satisfaction in having that power. Luckily, I have an excellent dental practice in another town further away, and won’t ever need to return to Smile in Helston. But I felt so moved by the woman’s situation and appalled by her terrible treatment, displaying such lack of empathy, that I had to leave this review. A shame because the dentist who came out to greet my partner seemed very pleasant, as did the young male receptionist.

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking service. NHS recommended for emergency care but we waited on the phone for over 2 hours. They never answer phone so I suggest never trying to use these awful company .

Positive experience: I've had a great experience so far after 2 root canal sessions and an initial consultation. Going to the dentist makes me very anxious, but Younes has been great throughout and made me feel more comfortable. Reception are friendly and appointments are not too long to wait for considering the area.

Negative experience: Awful practice. Removed me from their register with no warning or explanation. No great loss though to be honest as treatment and staff left a lot to be desired.

Negative experience: Terrible service they won't touch you, if you are pregnant unfortunately, and have a past medical health history such as cardiac related. I am in lots of pain but they didn't seem to care, other than I paid the small fee for them to do nothing, and refuse to help me because I am pregnant and kept telling me to find a dentist if it were that easy I would! Disappointed.

Positive experience: Had extraction a while back and ... i didnt feel a thing.

Fantastic experience: A well run, professional and friendly practice. Located in Meneage Street, parking is limited to the road, there are however plenty of parking facilities close by. A good sized window seateing area allows you to wait for your appointment. Lastly but not least, very friendly, courteous and professional staff. Recommended.

Fantastic experience: I have had quite a lot of work with DR Aarohan Singh since December after a bit of neglecting with my teeth (I’ve had a root canal, crown, extraction and 2 x fillings). From the start he’s been so professional, friendly and honest and I have had no problems with my teeth during treatment (except a dry socket- not their fault!) and the dental nurse was very friendly too, good dentist, sometimes the reception team were not the most welcoming to the practice which is a shame, but doesn’t affect me coming back

Fantastic experience: It isn't too often that you can say that you had an enjoyable visit to the dentist, my dentist Riddhi Modi was amazing, she is happy and relaxed and immediately puts you at ease, the work she did for me was top class. The receptionists were very friendly too

Fantastic experience: Took my 2 Grandsons here, turned out appointment was for 1 but they saw both without any fuss. Dentist, Mr Singh, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Have heard others say the reception attitude is bad but the 2 on duty that day were very pleasant. Just a few feet away are steps to the large pay and display car park.

Negative experience: Booked a appointment and they just cancelled and rescheduled it without telling anyone so I had to go in and make a new appointment

Negative experience: I’ve never been seen on time, one app was nearly 2 hours late. Any dental treatment I’ve received has been extremely poor. One filling I received didn’t even last 2 weeks. A root canal tooth is currently separating from my gum. A professional tooth clean I paid £60 for was not done properly as apparently plaque cannot be removed. I had 3 teeth removed as it was apparently easier than repairing them. So all in all I am not impressed and will be looking for another dentist.

Fantastic experience: After reading lots of negative social media posts and reviews I felt very anxious about going to my appointment today with my 4 children… I was pleasantly surprised the staff were really lovely from receptionists right through to the dentist and dental nurse. Great friendly professional service it was my little boys first time in the chair today and the dentist and dental nurse put him at ease even involving him at counting his sisters teeth seeing he was a little worried. Fantastic staff and experience I cannot see what all of the bad comments are for i would recommend this practice

Fantastic experience: I had to have an emergency extraction over the New Year Bank Holiday. I was booked in with this dental practice via the emergency helpline. Smile Dental Care gave me an appointment within 3 hours. The receptionists, dental assistants and dentist were all very kind and efficient, I cannot praise them enough. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentists and assistants helped me out with an emergancy extraction for my dad Let me in with him even in covid rules ,treated him really well and made him feel so comfortable so much so he would of loved to be put on your NHS patient list so freindly and helpful. thankyou so much we really appreciated you all x

Negative experience: Had gum issues, told me I need to come back every 3 months. 2 years and 5 months later and I've had cancelled appointment after cancelled appointment and I'm sick to death of it.

Negative experience: I was grateful to get an emergency apointment after suffering toothache for days but after a 130 mile round trip, the only treatment I recieved was some horrible putty stuff put into the offending tooth, I still have toothache and will have to make another emergency appointment as I have no dentist. A real waste of time and money. The receptionist wasn't overly friendly or helpful either. Wouldn't recommend this practise to anyone.

Negative experience: Cancelled my appointment twice, one with 2 hours notice. Attitude stinks when dealing with customers

Negative experience: Rude receptionist who put the phone down while I was waiting for her to answer a question, no apology when I called back, just a 'couldn't care less' attitude. An emergency appt where no treatment was given, just an appt for a filling in a month's time, and was told if my pain worsened to call the emergency dental number and they'd take my tooth out. Really helpful advice!!! Today I saw a GOOD dentist who's given me antibiotics for the infection, a temporary filling, and an appointment to extract my tooth because it's beyond saving. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. If I'd had the filling the infection would've been trapped and allowed to spread causing me more problems in the future. Charlatans!

Fantastic experience: I'm not sure what the one star reviewers are going on about! Really I don't. Receptionists were lovely, very helpful and the denist Hannah was absolutely brilliant, having no option but to extract my cracked tooth. As an emergency patient, I was so very grateful for their I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Negative experience: My parents, my father in law and my wife are all patients at this outpost of Sam Waley-Cohen’s dental empire. I feel that he should spend more time monitoring the people who work under his umbrella and less with the horses. Every single member of my family have experienced long waits, delays, endured missing or malformed plates and dental casts, not been informed of problems or delays without having to chase the practice, have had money taken in advance for dental procedures that have then not taken place or been delivered- all without apology or admission or responsibility. Whilst it may earn business awards this is no way to replace a NHS service. In fact in my families experience, there is no service at all and it is proving difficult to check the qualifications, experience and get redress for the time and effort wasted to date!

Negative experience: Dentists are fantastic, however the receptionists are utterly useless and ruin an otherwise very good service. Incorrect appointments, wrong dentists booked, incompetence and then downright awkwardness and unhelpful when trying to re-book their mistake. Awful.
