Smile Dental Care - St Ives

Fantastic experience: Finally got in on the NHS and my appointment was on time, dentist and assistant were lovely and thorough, also had a private hygiene appointment with the same level of care, very happy :)

Fantastic experience: I’m writing this review on behalf of my partner. He had an urgent appointment through Smile Together due to severe tooth pain, where he was diagnosed as needing root canal treatment. They started treatment to relieve his pain, but due to the limitations of the urgent care service, they weren’t able to complete it. Like so many others, he doesn’t have an NHS dentist, and despite contacting practices across Cornwall, we couldn’t find anywhere taking on new NHS patients. Private treatment was also simply too expensive. The Smile Together team in St Ives were the only practice to offer to complete his root canal through a Stabilisation Pathway appointment. They haven’t just completed the root canal and left it at that. They’ve taken the time to identify and address other issues as well, with the hope of preventing another tooth from deteriorating and needing further urgent treatment in the future. The whole team have been welcoming, kind and supportive throughout what could otherwise have been a very stressful situation. We’re both grateful for the care they’ve provided.

Fantastic experience: What a lovely bunch. Greeted by the really friendly and smiley faces of Lucy, Meg and faith. Then treated by the incredibly professional Hari and Izzy. 5* have to go again

Theybare absolutely amazing always kind and caring make all my children feel at complete ease and relaxed at every visit exain what they are doing at each step. My children come out smiling after thier visit with the dentist now none of the usual doom and gloom of the dentist anymore. They are a wonderful fantastic team thank you so much praying one day I can finally get on their books. Keep up the amazing work

It was totally painless and I now am going to have to really look after it as the work and time that went into was amazing . Fantastic experience: Had appointment on Friday with all 4 kids the dentist was nina and wow all I can say was her and the nurse was amazing My 11 year old is autistic and she delt with her well she let her touch the tools so she knew what they felt like she explained what she was doing she was just amazing and really helped her My other daughter is petrified of the dentist too butagain she put her at ease with her kindness and words They both were amazing and u cant thank them enough

Fantastic experience: Nina has been my hygenist for a couple of years now. She's lovely. My gums are much better now thanks to her.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a check up with Marion Visagie and was very impressed. She was very thorough, checking absolutely everything and gave me exercises to help with jaw pain. Very friendly and helpful

Fantastic experience: Went in for emergency appointment provided by Smile together (111) was seen today at 2.50pm I have to say was very impressed there willow my dentist was so lovely and kind and made me feel at ease and her assistant was also fantastic I don’t normally do reviews but I feel this was a definite for me to leave one added I also went today for tooth extraction and willow and her assistant were amazing again luckily only took 2 mins to get it out and looked after so well yet again if you need a dentist I seriously and highly recommend them

Positive experience: Great experience overall was very anxious arriving after a long journey but the team were excellent professional kind and understanding will be returning for future appointments

Negative experience: Had an emergency. Had to travel an hour to get there, then they cancelled on arrival.

Negative experience: Full of promises deliver nothing. Parking is rubbish, no signal either

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about this dentist's practice. Our whole family moved to Smile in Oct 2023, we all have different dentistry needs. I am an extremely nervous patient and had to have a root canal today. Isaac put me completely at ease, he was so sympathetic and professional throughout the whole procedure which only took 30 minutes! His dental nurse was also fantastic, they are a great team.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous service from the staff who were on reception when I walked in on Tuesday. Desperate for help for my husband who had an abscess on his gum and experiencing pain I was able to get an emergency appointment very quickly. I understand there is a serious problem at the moment with getting into see any dentist so it was a huge relief that Smile Dental Care were able to help - Thank you so very much

Fantastic experience: My dental practice deregistered me without my knowledge. I needed a filling I had to have a emergency dentist Smiles Dental Care were all lovely the receptionists were lovely Gabriel was my dentist thank you so much very professional and Lucy the nurse did amazing too. Thank you. I will defo use them in future and get my teeth cleaned there too in January.

Negative experience: Had implants done with the dentist Issac.waited 3 years with no teeth waiting for him to get them right..he never did was such a bad job..I know have to pay an extra £3500 to get wot he done so bad,to get them fixed..not good at all.I don’t think he should still be able to do any work on anyone,he’s really not good at all.

Negative experience: The place is called Smile , nothing to smile about here. The two receptionist were outstanding, however the dentist himself did not seem to care about the amount of pain I was in and would not allow proscribe pain killers as he doesn’t just dish them out and come out of the budget I said I would pay for them I’m in pain. not a great service at all . :-( :-( :-(

Fantastic experience: I have en attending this dentist for a few years .The receptionist was so helpful especially Sharon , who helped me set up as a new patient , as it is difficult to find a dentist in St Ives . I now have a new dentist Dr Hewitt ,he has been amazing setting up a plan for me ,with teeth whitening and veneers , as well as general dental care . I can not recommend this dentist enough .

Fantastic experience: My daughter has had some excellent work completed at the practice as she has two dentist Treliske hospital is second, due to her being born with a Cleff. Extremely warm and welcoming staff on the desk also.

Negative experience: repeatedly cancelled my appointments for 12 months and then said I hadn't visited the practice and removed me. this dental practice was fine until smile took over. they're utterly dishonest.

Fantastic experience: As someone who very anxious about visiting the dentist, I was made to feel welcomed and put at ease by the two amazing female receptionists. The reception team work extremely hard, managing a large workload, but still go over and above to engage with every patient. Thank you guys.

Fantastic experience: This is a great dental practice...at my appointments, my dentist Mr Aarohan Singh is very attentive, provides detailed clear clarity and communication, about any issues to be addressed, and any action I need to take with looking after my teeth and oral hygiene. Mr Singh is thorough, very friendly and the receptionist and booking system is very professional and well orgnanised. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: This practice has finally turned around now they have more permanent Dentists in place, and I hope they are here to stay. The staff on reception are as lovely as ever. I used to feel so anxious going to the dentist, but feel so much more at ease now; everyone lovely and friendly. Felt comfortable and safe during these current worrying times.

Negative experience: Day 12 of post filling toothache. Pain to tears at times, was on holiday, booked a private emergency appointment. Pointless. Couldn't tell me the cost of having the filling removed and nerve prep work. Didn't want to do anything as to not step on my regular dentists toes. Gave me flucloxicillin when my tooth was aseptic. Left in just as much pain as I entered with. Rubbish

Fantastic experience: I have been twice to this dentist over 7 months and both times Aarohan and all of his staff have been very professional, efficient and friendly. Even during the current Covid restrictions, I was able to get an appointment very quickly. I am very pleased with the treatment and care I received and would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I will admit before while there was a lot of temporary dentists there was some issues with continuity but now a permanent dentists (or at least one is definitely a permanent feature now) this place has completely changed round. A new team and better organization has really shown. I can recommend Amit that's there now. Really nice bloke and has a genuine care for your well being

Fantastic experience: In the build up to Christmas I had very bad toothache. This dentist took me in and gave me the treatment that was needed and was very professional about it. Negative experience: They have no toilet for customers. Waiting for almost an hour, I really needed one. They would not allow me to use the ‘staff’ toilet and advised me to use a public toilet down the hill. Meaning I might miss my appointment after already waiting almost an hour. Disgraceful in 2019. Access to a toilet was passed in 2015 as a basic human right.

Negative experience: Over the past 2 years I have had all check ups cancelled, only been given treatment if I paid with no discount directly over the phone at time of booking (I'm an NHS patient), been given a filling with no anaesthetic, had a cap fitted at the cost of a weeks wages which promptly dislodged despite a supposed years guarantee. I now have half a tooth and no appointment for a month. No empathy just rude phone manner. My children are 3 yrs behind their brace referal also due to inability to get appts and promised referal.

Negative experience: MINUS 5 Had an appointment booked last week. Dentist cancelled due to a family emergency. Last evening whilst eating my tea part of my back tooth broke away. I called this morning to book an appointment to be told there are none due to both dentists being away next week & their diaries are full the week after!! When I asked what I should do if my tooth disintegrates further the receptionist said get a filling kit from Boots as the soonest appointment is the 19-08-19! I'm not sure my tooth will last that long. I'm left in shock, what an appalling service, to say I feel let down is an understatement, I've been with that dentist all my life, time to put my name down elsewhere I think. Absolutely disgusting. If you want a good service don't go to this dentist practise.

Negative experience: No check ups for children, absolutely shocking. Never come across in 30 years of being a parent

Negative experience: Got dental appointments cancelled for 6 month. My teeth should have been removed last November, rotting away unsave. Day before cancelations or same day cancelations whilst receptionists and dentist need a medal, the company practice of smiles is unsafe. Only one NHS dentist and no cover when they are ill, no toilet in the premises, which I believe is illegal Unsave practice of smiles coopatations

Negative experience: Disgusting practice now taken over by corporation ‘Smile’. I’m not smiling after shoddy treatment, lack of care and pain

Negative experience: Got taken off the books due to missing an appointment. I did make the appointment, just couldn't get into the surgery as I was in a wheelchair !! Explained situation to secretary and she said nothing at the time. Waited till I was able to walk, tried to make an appointmeny and was told I had been removed from their books.

Positive experience: The two previous dentists have left and the practice is currently recovering from this. The phone is constantly engaged as the one receptionist is overwhelmed. I've updated Google with the new website, but [HINT] something on the web site to indicate what has happened would help - I had to call in in person twice to find out. Maybe a note on the door would help. It took three calls to NHS helplines (who couldn't get me emergency treatment at an NHS dentist as I am still registered at this one) and they were unsure what was happening. Hopefully they will recover as this was a Five Start dentist - best I've ever had.
