Established in Chiswell Green, St Albans since 2009, UK Dental Specialists (formerly Chiswell Green Specialist Dental Centre), has provided the highest standards of specialist private dentistry for over 10 years.
We are more than a dentist in St Albans, we are proud to offer our patients the ultimate experience demonstrating the art of dental excellence.
We are fortunate to be able to offer such a vast range of specialist dental care including endodontic, orthodontic (Invisalign), periodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, dental implants and facial aesthetics in St Albans. Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with UKDS. I kept getting infections in my wisdom tooth, and the NHS waiting time was very long, so my dentist referred me there privately. Fantastic experience: Only a specialist could deal with the challenges my hare lip has given me in my 50’s. Due to this through my childhood every area of my palette and teeth have been made up, moved it taken away over many years of operations and procedures as a child in GOSH Isavella has been my perfect answer to the later stages of treatment with my condition. Fantastic experience: Very professional dentist. I called on the Friday. Had the consultation on the Monday followed by the root canal treatment on the Wednesday. My own dentist does not have a in house root canal specialist and the one that comes in couldn't fit me in for 6 weeks! I was in too much pain to wait. Fantastic experience: Yesterday was my first visit to Claudio Peru at this practice for a root canal. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly warm and friendly—his calm, reassuring manner instantly put me at ease. Any nerves I had at the start quickly faded as his skill and experience became obvious. Ninety minutes later, the treatment was complete, thanks also to his excellent assistant. At the end, I told them they were “formidable”—and I meant it. My only (light-hearted!) criticism, which I shared with Claudio, was the background music: a rather uninspiring selection of piano tunes that reminded me of being on hold during a phone call. I suggested letting patients choose a radio station instead! I would have given a 10/10 review, but I’m deducting one point for the music. Thank you, Claudio, and your wonderful assistant (whose name I’m sorry to say I didn’t catch).

My treatment is not yet complete but during the first visit the team were friendly and identified the problem quickly, recommending a course of action, and made an immediate appointment for treatment. At my second appointment the work was carried out professionally, courteously. I had no pain during the treatment or afterwards (phew). So far, so good.

Fantastic experience: Today I attended UK Dental Specialists for a root canal treatment I was very well looked after by all. Fantastic experience: I was referred by my dentist for the removal and replacement of a front tooth. I saw several of the specialists while they took great care to assess my case and decide the best treatment to recommend. All the staff I met were welcoming and helpful but in particular, Dr Rajiv Patel was very kind and reassuring when dealing with the removal of my tooth and Dr Kostas did an amazing job, with great patience and good humour, to ensure my replacement tooth looked so realistic. Fantastic experience: Nothing short of 5 stars. So grateful for the excellent service and re-root canal treatment received from Dr Peru. I am humbled by how patient he was with me, I put this treatment off for more than 18 months due to a previous terrible experience with a private dentist and in that time made the infection worse. I needn’t have worried, Dr Peru is an expert at what he does and although the procedure took a long time due to the extent of the infection, the treatment was pain free. I have had a free follow up to double check everything is ok for which I am grateful. Thank you so much for restoring my faith in dentists and for saving my tooth (which I very nearly had extracted). Positive experience: I had a consultation with Dr. Tanika for my 13-year-old daughter. She was incredibly friendly, kind, and professional. She took the time to clearly explain the procedure to both my daughter and Dr. Yusuf, making sure we understood everything. Her support throughout the consultation was much appreciated. Although we have not yet begun treatment with Dr. Yusuf, since we are waiting to start orthodontic care, all of the staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Negative experience: Referred to this practice, I’ve been a few times. The last two appointments there were early morning; on both occasions, the dentist wandered in about 10 minutes late, I had arrived early. He then changed, prolonging the wait, then repeatedly apologised for the delay. Don’t say you’re sorry, be on time.

Fantastic experience: Having received astronomical quotes from another dentist who was proposing all sorts of treatment to give me a perfect smile, I came to Pranay thinking I needed to investigate dentures as an alternative. He took the time to understand what I was looking for which was some basic functionality not a perfect smile, he explained everything really clearly and always gave me different options and price points to consider. 18 months on following bone grafts, sinus lift, crowns, bridges and implants from him and Rajiv I now have my implants in. Fantastic experience: After experiencing persistent pain in a previously root canal-treated and crowned tooth done at another dental practice, Dr. Claudio Peru diagnosed a severe crack as the cause after a thorough exam and CT scan. Unfortunately, the crack was too extensive to save the tooth, so extraction was necessary. Dr. Rajiv Patel performed the extraction under local anaesthesia with great care, ensuring comfort throughout the procedure. The dental team was professional and compassionate, clearly explaining the diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect during and after the extraction. Advanced imaging technology helped accurately identify the problem, and follow-up care was excellent. Dr. Patel also discussed replacement options, including dental implants, to restore my smile. Special thanks to Charleigh and Sammy for organising appointments and keeping me informed throughout. This practice is highly recommended for its expert diagnostics and warm, patient-centered dental care.

Fantastic experience: I continue to see Kostas at UK Dental Specialists. He has referred me to a couple more of his colleagues and they are brilliant! I had a difficult tooth extracted by one of them. I was terrified because this was someone I did not know. I need not have worried myself. That dentist was super! Fantastic experience: Gum grafts - I would highly recommend the skill and professionalism of Dr. Rupal Patel and the whole team. I recently had 2 gum grafts carried out for my upper incisors and was really impressed by the level of care, knowledge, skill, attention to detail and personal service that I received from Dr. Patel. She was extremely considerate, had a lovely "chair side" manner and answered all my ongoing questions very patiently. One of the grafts went extremely well, the other I am satisfied with but turned out not as well the first. This, however, is in no way a reflection of Dr. Patel's skills, rather the non-guaranteeable nature of any surgery and was a consideration that Dr. Patel candidly discussed with me before we engaged on the actual surgery. An excellence service from beginning to end, I can be a nervous dental patient at times but the approach of this surgery was very considerate. A direct mention to the various nurses who also helped, their professionalism and the team work displayed was much appreciated. I hope this review helps potential future patients.

Positive experience: Had CV root canal treatment for an infected tooth / gum. Was nervous about treatment but wasn’t too bad. They were good about it. A relatively long process (as anticipated) but treatment was not painful and seemed to be carried out very professionally and thoroughly. Had follow up check and infection has since gone and no longer painful. Very happy with treatment and service provided.

Positive experience: To start I was walking into what is a house that’s been converted, didn’t have great hopes got to reception and a bit like I’m feeling awkward, because I’m not sure I’m in the right place( in Lithuania when you go to a dentist you know♀️) but the girls where friendly and helpful. Fantastic experience: I was referred by my NHS dentist for root canal teatment. Dr Chavda undertook a thorough investigation and during the initial work established that the tooth was damaged beyond repair, and that any root canal treatment would be unsuccessful in the long term. I greatly appreciated that he did not proceed further with unnecessary work and that the cost was reduced accordingly. Dr Chavda took great care to keep me fully informed throughout the process. If I was to be referred for root canal treatment again my first port of call would be Dr Chavda - which is the highest recommendation I can give.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Amit Kalla. I can't say enough about Dr. Amit Kalla. What an amazing anaesthetist! He is not only professional but also incredibly kind, gentle, and calm. As someone who suffers from claustrophobia and struggles with dental visits, I’m so grateful to have been referred to him. He took the time to make me feel at ease even before the procedure, with a friendly, calming call to gather my medical information and explain exactly what his role would be, what he would be doing, and what I could expect. His care and attention to my comfort were above and beyond. He even walked me to my pickup after the procedure. He also advised me to see my cardiologist, which ultimately led to necessary heart surgery. I truly feel lucky to have had him as part of my care team.

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist there is always anticipation of unpleasant experience associated with pain. Even though my case was difficult to deal with the UK Dental Specialist managed to fix the problem painlessly , quick and in very pleasant atmosphere. Fantastic experience: My son had to have braces fitted, Dr Luisa Lucchesi was excellent. She realistic, reassuring and supportive. Luisa made the whole experience fun whilst being very knowledgeable, professional and honest not trying to charge for extra unnecessary work. I will be back with son number 2.

Fantastic experience: The team at UKDS could not have done more to make my dental experience better. As a nervous patient they put my mind and ease and treated me with so much kindness. The root canal treatment itself was the best dental treatment I have ever had. I did go forward with sedation having had all my options discussed with me by Dr Peru and i’m glad I did.
