Negative experience: After being a low-income NHS patient here for 16+ years I’ve now been sent a letter to say that I’m due a checkup but NHS capacity is full and they can now only offer private. Truly unbelievable at a time when so many of us are struggling to afford the bare necessities. I thought this place was the exception but it’s extremely disappointing and in the past few years the quality of treatment has declined. Such a shame for money to come above the health and wellbeing of patients.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at Victoria Road Dental Practice Ltd since 2022, and I can’t speak highly enough of the exceptional care and service they provide! From the moment you walk in, the warm, professional atmosphere puts you at ease. The entire team is friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring every visit is a positive experience. A special shout-out goes to Ellie, the hygienist, who is an absolute gem! Her expertise and gentle approach make every appointment a breeze. She’s incredibly thorough, takes the time to explain everything clearly, and always ensures you leave with a sparkling smile and a boost of confidence. Fantastic experience: Never thought I'd enjoy a visit to the dentist but from my first contact with this dentist I was impressed. The young ladies on the telephone/reception were bright, cheerful and exceptionally helpful. They found me an appointment which was awkward for me but said they would keep it for me for 2 hours in case I could find a dentist open on Saturdays. I couldn't, so gratefully accepted the Monday appointment. I arrived a little early to be greeted by 2 exceptionally helpful, cheerful and chatty receptionists. They advised the Dental Practitioner that I had trouble with the stairs. (I'm 82!) and the dentist came downstairs to another surgery. The dentist was very welcoming and made me feel completely relaxed and comfortable. She explained, in everyday words, no 'dental-ise', what was required and set to work. The procedure was carried out quickly, carefully and painlessly. I really cannot recommend Victoria Dental Practice highly enough. The entire experience was totally painless. Thank you.

Negative experience: I have been with this practice for 25 years and they have NO nhs appointments I have spent more than £1000 on treatments over the last 5 years and I am disappointed that I have to go elsewhere to get a check up.

Negative experience: Jarek couldn’t give me a proper check up today as my breathing was so bad. He checked my gums and tongue , and filed down a sharp tooth a little . But he didn’t check my fillings or if I needed any fillings etc as I couldn’t lie right back in the chair due to my breathing . Hopefully , I can have a proper check up in the near future when my breathing is a bit easier .

After my last dentist left me quite bereft it was so good to be treated as a human being and actually have a say in how you should proceed with any treatment. So very grateful and on the road to a decent set of teeth again. All of the staff are empathetic to you as a patient and the premises are spotless. Fantastic experience: First of all both the lady's on the desk are lovely they go above and beyond to help you out and my dentist has a fantastic sense of humour, as a kid I hated the thought of going to the dentist or when they came to the school, the dentist at Victoria are very kind and have never put me in any pain what so ever.

Fantastic experience: I visited the dentist for a routine check-up with Dr Russell Hashemi. He was thorough with explaining his treatment plan for me and the whys behind those treatments. He filled a tooth for me and was very professional, the procedure was completely pain free and the filling looks very natural. He also advised on teeth straightening and dental implants for the future, answering any questions I had carefully, and clearly has a high level of comprehensive knowledge and competency in a broad range of areas in dentistry. I also saw the Hygienist Ellie Solman, who was also very professional, knowledgeable and thorough in the appointment and in advising me on how to go forward with looking after my teeth, and cleaned them perfectly for me. The receptionists are all lovely, and accommodated when I asked to be seen sooner than originally suggested (luckily there was a cancellation just as we were booking my appointments). It was around a week in total between my initial check-up appointment and seeing both the hygienist and dentist for my filling. Both dental nurses I saw were lovely and friendly too. The only downside is that the treatments were expensive, but not more so than anywhere else - this is standard now unfortunately. Definitely would recommend, and likely to come back for teeth straightening. Thank you all and best wishes - Storm

Fantastic experience: Following an out of hours Devon emergency extraction, Victoria Road saw me the following day to check the extraction gum area, prescribe antibiotics and followed up within a week with a cancellation slot for a second molar requiring urgent attention to prevent more severe pain. Nothing but praise. Had normal NHS check up today 31.12. 24. With Mr. Golonko. Very professional as always. On time. No problems and only a bit of a clean up. Saw Mr. Golonko this morning within 24 hours of asking for appt. for urgent problem. He sorted me very quickly . Absolute full marks.

Fantastic experience: That was a very straightforward and thorough visit to the hygienist - which lasted about 30 minutes and left me with clean polished teeth and good advice on how to prevent gum problems etc developing by using my brush and interdental flosser effectively. I was made very comfortable throughout - and advised of each stage by an experienced hygienist. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, both friendly and professional, any questions posed are answered effectively and easily understood. The receptionists are always polite and helpful. The dental professionals are typically that, professional in every way. Costs are reasonable especially if you take out the insurance options. The surgery is clean tidy and presents a friendly and efficient service. I would certainly recommend the practice to friends and colleagues.

The dentists I have seen over the years have been friendly, professional and have always carried out good dental work. The hygienists are again friendly and very efficient at their job. Fantastic experience: I needed a filling and was given expert advice by dentist Damon Booth. On the day of the filling, he and dental technician Clare were very welcoming and reassuring. I had my filling done with no discomfort at all. They showed me the finished result on the screen and I couldn't have been happier. This is a great dental practice, Damon is a wonderfully reassuring and knowledgeable dentist and Clare is obviously a expert in her field too. They worked very well together. Top marks to both of them. I can recommend this practice wholeheartedly.

Fantastic experience: Damon Booth did both a check up and a quick clean on my teeth. He gave me tips on how better to use my electric toothbrush that made a noticeable improvement. He is calm, helpful and professional. What more could you want in a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Damon, the NHS dentist is great. He is kind and thoughtful and will tell you all your options. Especially good with me as I have a bit of a phobia, especially so with the drill.

Dr. Smitha Walsh is both pleasant and straightforward, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free, even with two fillings required. While no one particularly enjoys a trip to the dentist, this visit was far from unpleasant—certainly the most positive dental experience I’ve had in years. The other thing was, I had suspicions that a dentist may suggest a crown when in fact a large filling seems to have sufficed so I definitely feel confident this is not a dental practice that’s likely to overtreat a patient. I would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Despite building work there is still excellent service from VRDP. Jarek and his assistant are professional, friendly and throughout the treatment everything was explained and advice given. He keeps checking to ensure you are not in pain and if so it is quickly remedied. Compared to treatments received at other dentists when I have been away from home none came anywhere near to the high standards of VRDP. An excellent team; highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: A visit to the hygienist, Ellie today. The receptionist was very welcoming. My appointment was right on time. Ellie really did her best to put me at ease and did a very good job.

Fantastic experience: I felt comfortable as soon as I entered the practice. It seemed homely rather than shiny and smart. My first checkup took an hour and the dentist was unbelievably thorough. It was a complete revelation, after years of a hurried NHS dentist. The staff at the front desk are kind and caring. The dentists ensure you clearly understand what they are doing and have shown me photos of inside my teeth! If you can afford private dentistry, I recommend this practice. A year on I am still very happy with the practice. The reception staff are great and the dentist continues to explain clearly what needs doing and why.

Fantastic experience: All went well. Slight wait but no problem to me. It was very noisy and noticed clients having to talk quiet loudly about personal stuff which meant we could all hear. May be if clients need help filling in forms they should be taken in a side room. Notwithstanding this the receptionists are very pleasant and kind, as was the dental staff I saw. Everything explained and I did not feel pressured to agreeing to work which means I have time to check out finances etc before deciding my next treatment. Thank you

Fantastic experience: The reception staff are always kind and welcoming. Today I had my first crown appointment. The music and digital fish tank were calming . Jarek clearly explained all my options. During the treatment he explained at each step what he was going to do. He and his nurse were very gentle and patient and I had no pain with the injection or the drilling , which I have detested since childhood. Not feeling frightened of the second stage now.

Fantastic experience: Great receptionists always greet you with a smile. Dr Golonko always very gentle and explains what needs doing and why. Nurse always wipes away all residue after having impressions done. Cant find any failings at all (although i would like to have banana flavoured impression cement in future !!!) Joking apart allways a painless experience.

Fantastic experience: From the second you enter the practice you are greeted warmly with a friendly and professional manner. The receptionists, dentists and nurses are all friendly and explain everything clearly. Patients are soon put at ease. There has been a recent refurbishment at the practice and is now a light and airy environment. This dental practice is highly recommended by me.

Positive experience: The Hygienist treated me for bacteria build-up deep in my gums. She carefully numbed one side of my gums before quite invasive cleaning. She said SORRY a few times when I flinched with pain. She asked if it was OK to take much-needed x-rays; realising this added to the cost. She explained clearly what was happening and what was the next course of treatment. I was pleased to know she keeps up to date with the most innovative methods of treatment.

I had reservations initially as I have only ever had one dentist for the last 30 years, and all my questions about the various dentists were answered . My initial checkup resulted in some minor work , where I was given 3 alternatives and the assocaited costs together with the advantages of each. The work was completed efficiently and with great care. A great professional practice that I would recommend.

Positive experience: I went in with pain on the lower right and he did an X ray which ahowed the pain was coming from 2 rotten teeth.He then went for an extraction which was easy for one tooth and much more difficult for the other. Cost me £737

Fantastic experience: Such wonderfully kind and helpful staff. My son and I are always looked after so well and he’s clinically vulnerable yet I felt totally safe taking him to see them. The dentist and assistants are cheerful and always put me at ease, even offering a (gloved) hand to squeeze when i said I wasn’t the best fan of needles!

I had a new Dentist today young Dr Booth who was very helpful and pleasant, and the Dental Nurse was as always pleasant and helpful. Yes I would most definitely recommend this Dental Practice to all, my personal opinion is they are the best.

Positive experience: My dentist Andrei is lovely - a very gentle, patient man who explains everything and deals well with my extreme fear of dentists. It is just such a shame there is so limited NHS spaces and I am lucky to be hanging on ‘by the teeth’ to one of them. All the staff are helpful and friendly despite I am sure having to deal with the constraints of the NHS service.
