Fantastic experience: For those who are scared/nervous about the dentist I would recommend this dental practice. Dr Parisa Alipour is excellent. She explained every step of treatment clearly. Dr Alipour reassured me so much, was very patient with me and my teeth are in the best condition they have ever been in.

Negative experience: The dental services themselves are good BUT the rest really disappointed me. My partner had to wait 45 minutes for an appointment. (And this is not the first time this happens). I don’t understand, why don’t they call us to let us know they’ll be late? We were in our lunch break and were late for work … Also, the services are not neurodivergent-friendly at all (or suited for people with dental phobia). The dentist doesn’t explain what the procedure is about prior to doing it and they don’t seem to care at all about phobias.

Fantastic experience: I've been attending this dentist for many years now. I've had implants amongst just general treatment I.e. fillings etc. I can only say that I've been treated so well at each appointment. I'm now treated by Dr Hassan Adi, who has been exceptional, (his assistant is also so knowledgeable and gentle).Not only do i get talked through my treatment but Dr Adi also shows me via a mirror or by photographing my teeth, the treatment from start to finish. I can only extoll the virtues of this practice and would recommend them to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Booking appointments are so easy. Receptionist are there to help you with your enquiries. They also offer plan for your treatments. All staff members are so friendly & their here to put you at ease especially if your a nervous patient. Ive been with this surgery over 20 years. Well recommended.

Fantastic experience: I did come accross this place as a recommendation. I have done my braces elswhere however I had to attend to do emergency repair. I have called several orthodotics who made all big fuss about it and wanted to charge very excessive prices. I came accross Kerry at Midlands Smile centre in Selly oak and I was more than wowed about their approach and professionalism. The quality of the work Kerry do its actually much better then my original orthodontic and her prices compare to others are fraction what surprised me even more- for instance for a bracket repair others wanted to charge me £100 Kerry charged me £25- yes £25 and she had changed the wires and all fittings as they were getting stained. The girls at the reception also has to be mentioned Lily and Hayley always look for a solution when you need to come as an emergency and if you leave the message, they do come to you very shortly not like some other dentistries. I have to also say that every time I booked an appoitment I got in on the time agreed. no longer waiting then 5minutes. Theese people understand that time is not only valuable to them but also to you. Well done Kerry and the team. If I would have known you before I would definitely got my braces done here in the first place.

Fantastic experience: After avoiding the dentist for over 10 years due to bad past experiences, I finally decided to book an appointment at Selly Oak Dentist — and I’m so glad I did. My teeth were not in the best shape, but from the moment I met Dr. Charlie Davies, everything changed. He took the time to talk me through every step of the process, which instantly put me at ease. Charlie made me feel comfortable and reassured throughout, and within just 6 weeks he had completely transformed my smile. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. The reception staff are also fantastic — very friendly, welcoming, and professional. The whole team made what could have been a daunting experience feel easy and positive. Highly recommend to anyone, especially if you’ve had bad experiences in the past.

Negative experience: I have no clue what this practice is like and I don’t want to know the receptionist was so rude to me over the phone. “If you can’t afford to pay for an appointment, that on you”. And this didn’t make no sense because the question that I was asking was when was my appointment will be in August. Just rude, unpleasant and very unprofessional.

Negative experience: Very uncomfortable hygienist appointment would not recommend

Fantastic experience: I went in for a hygiene clean with Anantha Ramachandra yesterday and she is lovely and welcoming. As a person who is nervous about going to the dentist, she has made me feel at so much ease. She applied a numbing gel to make it easier and less painful for me. Can I also say the cleans have to be the best (my teeth feel brand new). It’s always a pleasure being treated by Anantha. Also the dental nurse was lovely I forgot to get her name. Anantha is the best at what she does and made my hygiene appointment a breeze.

Negative experience: I’ve spent thousands there but when there’s a problem they completely ignore you and take no responsibility for causing you harm. I would avoid this practice altogether

Fantastic experience: For someone who has anxiety disorder, this denial practice has always me feel at ease. From the receptionist to the dentist and dental nurse. My dentist Sana has given me the best care and treatment.

Negative experience: Disappointed at the lack of possibility of getting urgent appointments when I called saying I was in pain (May 16th). I had to go to an emergency dentist over the weekend (May 18th) as I was offered an appointment 4 days after I first called (May 20th). When I went to the appointment on the 20th of May, I was sent home and asked to return back 4 day later even though i shared the report and X-ray from the emergency treatment by email. Obviously it was not read by anyone. The surgery is good for routine checks and dental hygiene appointments but very disappointing when you are in pain. You’ll have to wait days and weeks to be seen. Sadly, a toothache cannot wait.

I do find attending quite scary and she goes out of her way to put me at ease. I even magic the odd joke with her which makes the experience even better. Negative experience: Was initially told hygienist would cost around £80-90. This was then upped to £130 for hygienist plus airflow. They aren’t very transparent about fees.

Negative experience: Edit 2: AVOID this dental practise, Selly Oak is operated by Rodrick's Dental Partner's, which is owned by CapVest. The only thing they know is how to make sure the title's of employees are in order, and how to squeeze money out of people. No wonder the receptionist doesn't care, she's probably making £35k+ just ignoring desperate people. Absolutely disgusting. Edit: I'm downgrading the 2 stars to 1 star, I cannot stop thinking about how unprofessional the receptionist was. She should be fired or retrained to actually care about people and not just about herself. 2 stars for my sanity. Trying to book in an appointment was beyond stressful. After an initial check up and review, I had been informed of "major" work to my molar teeth despite not exhibiting any signs of pain in that area. Additionally, trying to book the follow-up appointment to which I had agreed to some of the work, was a nightmare. I call on the Thursday to receive a response that they will call me back. The day goes by and not a single call back. I decided to call the next day, and the receptionist quite cheekily replies that there are no records of a call yesterday, or a call-back request on their system. If there was ever a time I cried, it was then. So I suppose thank you for doing something my parents couldn't do for 24 years. 200 quid for the deposit... an awkward 15 minute wait upon arrival... and beyond terrible patient management. I didn't think this was NHS England. Fix your practise. Edit 3: ironically you call yourself a practise, is that because you're still practising how to manage clients?

Fantastic experience: Very efficient service. Gave good guidance under very uncomfortable pain in the wisdom tooth area given at short notice under a proemergency appointment. Very professional.

She was extremely helpful in making me understand my dental issue and offered genuine and relevant advice on how to get rid of it. Negative experience: Called and asked about getting teeth cleaned through NHS - sure we do that all the time it’s rare for the dentist not to be able to order it. Arrived. Dentist: no it’s all private you have to pay private rates. Called to ask about GIC coatings: are you familiar with this and can you maintain them? Yes absolutely we do this. Dentist: I can’t see them on your teeth. Me: that’s because they’re on the side. Dentist won’t even take a look. Dentist: I wouldn’t even want to do that because that traps bacteria. Maybe I just got scheduled with a bad dentist or she was having a bad day. Overall really annoyed to have wasted my time here.

Negative experience: The dentist is excellent, but the receptionist staff is unprofessional and consistently provides misinformation. I’ve had to call five times about ordering my retainers, which I’m happy to pay for, but each time I call, I’m told they need to speak with “Kerry,” and then no one follows up. I've been dealing with this for two months, and it’s frustrating. The reception staff are unhelpful, putting me on hold, picking up the phone only to hang up, and ignoring my requests until I raise my voice, which is when they take you seriously. This level of customer service is unacceptable. I recently received a message to call the dentist, and was told I was first in the queue, but after waiting 10 minutes, no one picked up. I’ve also waited another 10 minutes, only to have my call dropped. To top it off, I’ve just learned my retainers have been ready this whole time, but no one thought to inform me via phone or email. After all, I am paying for a service. The customer service and administrative handling is incredibly poor. Do better or train your receptionist.

Positive experience: Changed to this practice for my Invisalign treatment from the Edgebaston Smile Clinic. Thanks to Kerry & her assistant for making the switch straight forward. All I will say is reception wasn’t very helpful to be honest.

Negative experience: There are no words too describe how badly I was treated today an appointment made by the practice manager told they have left no contact turned up refused my hygiene they owe me money I am absolutely disgusted in their services behavior apparently none of them know if they have jobs or will be paid for months they have charged me for horrendous service & today they tell me that two practice managers have walked out & that she would not continue with my appointment even though they sent reminder after reminder about the appointment please please be careful they are definitely up too no good there cruel for a medical service Is not the word told they are owned by a corporate company who are useless their words not mine totally devastated

Negative experience: This dental practice has left me feeling cheated! They make up prices and rules as they wish.. I booked in appointment for hygenist and was told that I need to pay £74 but when I arrived for the hygenist visit i was asked to pay £103 and they said because you have not visited a dentist recently we have to charge you higher.. this is despite me having hygenist visits with them every 4-5 months!! The manager is not available for feedback and the reception desk sat there is absolutely clueless! No transparency, ethics and worst service! Join them at your own will.. wish I had 0 stars available to give them!!

Negative experience: I am disappointed with my recent visit to this dental practice. Despite arriving 15 minutes early, we were not seen until 50 minutes past our appointment time. To make matters worse, the dentist had a loud ringtone and answered a personal call as we entered the room, she also was still looking at another patients files and discussing it with another doctor when we entered the room, which felt extremely unprofessional. The reception staff were equally disappointing—unhelpful and seemingly untrained, adding to an overall frustrating experience. I would not recommend this practice unless significant improvements are made to their professionalism organisation, and time management. Absolutely despicable service for a private practice and definitely not up to standards.

Fantastic experience: I now have five "new" teeth! No, not implants or some other fancy thing, but my chipped and pitted teeth look like new! It appears that I've lost that twinge on the left of my mouth too. Going private isn't cheap but my hour spent in the dentists' chair was worth it and I plan to go back for more in the near future. Fantastic experience: Sareeka, and all the other staff are always courteous and professional when dealing with my son who has Down Syndrome / learning difficulties. Going to the dentist can often be anxiety inducing, however, my son always feel calm and relaxed due to the care of Sareeka and her nurse. He's always had a positive experience.

Negative experience: Really disappointed. Third visit and each time more difficult, to the point we walked out today. No understanding of adults with autism/ADHD. Unprepared to listen to needs and today caused a meltdown. So sad.

Fantastic experience: Charlie is a superstar dentist. Calm, caring. I feel at ease when I am at his practice. The reception staff are all amazing!

Negative experience: The practice is really let down by the fact that the receptionists don't answer or hang up, even though I'm 'number one in the queue'. It's also not great the appointments are cancelled or moved with little notice. If you manage to get through to book an appointment and the appointment doesn't get cancelled, the hygienists/dentists do a good job.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful!!! First of all they would have zero stars but I have to give one, I called to find out the price for a consultation which I was told was £40, after the consultation I was told it was £72.50 which I was not pleased about I was then told I would need fillings at the cost of £200 each plus I would also have to pay the consultation of £72.50 again when I come in and plus I need to give them 20 per cent deposit there and then it seems they make the prices up as they go as on there price form it shows white fillings £120, my advice for anyone thinking about using these guys is to look for a better honest dentist surgery avoid avoid avoid!!!

Fantastic experience: I was extremely anxious going in for an extraction but Paris Alipour and Joelsa made the whole process super relaxed and easy going, super grateful for their outstanding work!!!

Negative experience: Had my teeth cleaned here 5 days ago; since. I have developed 4 ulcers on the bottom row of my gums, and what seems to be a MASSIVE cut on the top corner/roof of my mouth only my own tongue can access. I can’t eat food, or even drink, as the pain of swallowing due to the cut or whatever touching the ulcers is too much to bear The dentist who cleaned my teeth was very overly aggressive with the sharp equipment and left me in severe pain and my mouth had severe bleeding since last night…… I’m planning on reporting this dental practise/dentist to the dental authorities

Fantastic experience: Two front teeth crowned. Temporary crowns looked good but there was room for improvement. Charlie took my comments and worked with the lab to create crowns that were 100% perfect. I couldn’t be happier with the results or the experience. I would not hesitate in recommending Charlie Davis, or the practice as a whole, to anyone for any type of dentistry.

Fantastic experience: Not being to a dentist for 25 years, I though it was time to pluck.up the courage. Ali, My dentist was so amazing. He was reassuring and attentive to my nerves, a thourgh checkup and I came out smiling from ear to ear and booking already for the hygieist nxt week. Negative experience: They don't even book you in correctly my sons appointment wasn't booked in didn't get confirmations either and told me they would see of can do clean and I said do you have time to do clean or not abd then he daid no....so just said forget the appointment il change my febt8sts and won't spend my money on invisalign here due to experience today

Fantastic experience: Saw Charlie today with my family. I have been bringing my family for a while but not personally seen a dentist here as I have a fear of them. My daughter is a nervous patient, we were put at ease and talked through each stage of what Charlie was going to do. Everything was wiped down in between each of us and the practice is clean throughout. Reception was busy but Rachel, Nicola and Kish greeted us with their usual smiles and we were seen on time.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding Dental Practice! I've been with Selly Oak Dental Practice for 4 years now, and they've been nothing but professional the whole time. The dental practice is open until 9 pm, which is amazing as I can still earn a living and have my dentist appointments in the evening. I don't know of any other dental practices that offer the service of staying open until late. Secondly, I started my invisalign orthodontics in 2020. The process can be completed in 11 months. However due to personal issues going on in my life, I delayed the process and completed it after 4 years. The whole time they were never pushy or rude and just let me complete the process at my own pace (in the past, I have experienced rude dentists, but this was never the case here). After completing my invisalign, I have found new self-confidence and feel like I'm worth more and have started treating myself better as a result. I would like to give a special thank you to; Dr Kerry Rogers, Dr Sana Iftikhar and the rest of the team at Selly Oak Dental Practice. You've been exceptional.

Negative experience: I attend this dentist originally about 2/3 months ago. I was charged £78 as a new patient examination. I was to return for the results. Both appointments I had were an hour over the time given. I was then told that I was being referred to another dentist. I’m still waiting for that referral. A friend of mine has had 3 dental appointments in the same timeframe. Perhaps I should ask him which dentist he used. Apparently it’s been 9 months since I wrote this review. Today I have my dentures. The dentist I was referred to back then took 9 teeth and at same time. Painful is not the word. I was then referred to another dentist. A dental technician in Stourbridge because Dr Sana wasn’t confident enough to do my dentures. (I had broken my jaw a few years back and I have a bad reflux problem). I had 3 trips to the technician in Stourbridge. I now have a full mouth of teeth. Highly recommend the technician. Wonderfully guy, pleasant personality and put up with me waffling about anything.

Negative experience: Booked my partner and myself in to the hygienist after hearing good things about the practice. When booking in they wanted money upfront for the whole treatment not even deposit. When we arrived the receptionist told us to wait. We waited way over our appointments time. Both of our appointments were with Mr Ziauddin Mohammed. He didn’t even greet us, we sat down and he did his routine which took max 5 mins compared to other places. Never have I felt this uncomfortable and wanted to leave mid treatment. After he finished he sends us off rudely to do the scan, which I have informed the receptionist of. I had to wait 30 minutes and remind them 2x that I was still waiting to get the scan done. My partner didn’t end up going for the scan as it is just waste of time.

Fantastic experience: Dr Hassan Adi came to the waiting area and called my name with a smile and reassuring words. He explained what he was going to do a step by step. I never felt more comfortable. Thank you so much Mr Adi!

Negative experience: had a terrible time there firstly they ask for £27 over the phone apparantly to make sure you turn up!! i arrived early waited 35 minutes after my check up i was told abruptly at the reception desk... that will cost £399 but then was told they could do my filling the next day10.30am ps would anyone pay £399 WALK OUT AFTER PAYING then come back the following day why cdnt i pay when id had the treatment completed??? ps they hadnt even taken off the £27 fee over the phone felt abused!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly dental staff who put me at ease. They did a good job of explaining issues and proposing options to me. I feel confident about upcoming treatment.

Fantastic experience: Charlie is brilliant. I had a previous horror story with a previous dentist when I was shown the door and to find a specialist as he claimed i need root canal. No referal just left to suffer in pain and shown the door. I registered at Selly Oak dental and Charlie simply filled in the tooth and all my oral problems have disappeared. He speaks to you and not just about your dentistry but about you life, health and progress in general. He really has compassion and time for his patient. Where my previous dentist made me feel like a burden and pest, Charlie is the complete opposite. Five stars.

Fantastic experience: I must admit I was a little nervous at first. The girls on reception were very friendly. Doctor Adi was super nice, and friendly, he explained everything in great detail. I was very impressed with the whole experience.

Fantastic experience: They are a great dentist they removed all the stains from my teeth and they give loads of good advice on dental hygiene. Definitely gonna stick with this dentist as long as I'm in the area. Couldn't ask for a better service. Also the staff on reception are really lovely and polite, as was the lady who did the cleaning and the dentist too. I totally recommend them to everyone who wants good dental care at reasonable prices. My teeth are looking good again and my gum health is improving thanks to their care and advice. Five stars.
