Fantastic experience: This is Sandra Tilley, I had an appointment with Chrissy last week, I have to say she is the most thorough of dentists I have seen to date I was very impressed with her. Added to that the surroundings are superb, the receptionists very helpful and it was a pleasure to speak to Rob on the phone.

Fantastic experience: I've visited Dartmoor Dental a lot over the last year and Mike Hesketh has been the best Dentist ever! . All the staff have been lovely and made me feel welcome and relaxed and Becky, the manager, has been so helpful and I must say the place is looking amazing Thank you all for looking after me.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment with Chrissie who diagnosed that a root canal was going to be the best solution. She carried out a temporary fix and sent me away to await my full appointment. Unfortunately my pain came back like a sledgehammer and in I went three days later for the whole root canal to be done. Two hours and if it hadn't been so cold in the room I would've managed to drop off (note to self, bring a blanket next time). My previous fears and dislikes of dentists being a child of the 70's, have completely dissipated. Nice numbing gel before that dreaded anesthetic needle going in, the dental dam preventing all the debris gathering in your mouth and an excellent dentist have made me loose that fear.

Fantastic experience: Matthew and Ellie and Clare are just amazing!! I have always had an irrational fear of dentists and having not been in almost 20 years had to have my first filling recently. I was utterly terrified but Mathew and Ella were brilliant and I left feeling full of confidence which led me to book a check up and again Matthew and Clare were just great. Fantastic experience: As always the staff were friendly and polite and the dental care first class (NHS patient) On my subsequent visit Matthew was very kind and explained the plan for my broken tooth. He is the man to go to if you are a bit nervous at the dentist (as I used to be)

Fantastic experience: Absolutely first class treatment, definitely a 5 star, been with the dentist 25 years and would NOT go anywhere else, Dentists, Nurses and front desk staff are so nice and friendly, if you’re like me I get so worried about going but they put you at ease, a great place, recently I have had to have a new top dental plate made and I’ve never has so much care and attention Chrisy is so wonderful and put you at ease.

Fantastic experience: What a lovely surgery and lovely people. Always a warm welcome from the ladies at the reception desk and the staff are very nice and understanding if you're a bit nervous. So glad I chose this dental practice as I am a bit nervous but have always had great service and never felt awkward because I am sometimes a bit frightened. Thank you. (MARCH 2023) I really cannot praise this surgery enough. Rebecca Hammond has seen me again today (9/11/23) concerning my bridge and I was absolutely terrified because of a previous dentist causing me pain. I should not have worried, Rebecca was fantastic and the work was over so quickly. I cannot thank her and Jasmine enough. I was also very touched that she had booked me into a downstairs room because I do find the stairs a bit of a trek. All in all ***** CARE is definitely the motto of this dental practice. Thank you all. (NOVEMBER 2023) Once again I have been to visit Rebecca Hammond at Dartmoor Dental and again I got fantastic service, always very caring knowing my sensitivity to my teeth because of Fibromyalgia. Need never worry as Rebecca always looks after me. I am looking forward to my visits in the new year for further treatment. There is also now an addition of the new wc which is a real bonus. The whole building oozes warmth and friendliness. Wonderful. (DECEMBER 2024) I would add that if any child or adult is at all nervous about dentistry, this is definitely the surgery to attend as not only do they give wonderful care, but there is never any stigma because of being nervous. I have recently attended Dartmoor Dental with Rebecca Hammond, and once again cannot express what wonderful service I receive. The waiting room has also been refurbished and looks amazing. This is definitely not a place to be feared, but rather excited about. Thank you (MAY 2025)

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! Lovely reception staff who are understanding and want to help. Matthew and Ellie are a fantastic team. Calming, patient and explain every step along the way to make sure you are at ease. I had a tooth extracted and was petrified, but there was no need as they were so gentle and kind.

Becky, the manager, was absolutely brilliant — she went out of her way to book me an emergency appointment quickly and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Fantastic experience: My comments last time are still pertinent. Too many repeated admin messages to complete before appointment and then bombarded for post operative report! The new decor is amazingly smart and the general air of efficiency prevails but I am left wondering whether all the numerous members of staff are really necessary? The waiting room is very clinical and the staff behind the desk remind me of the Three Wise Monkeys of Toshogu

Positive experience: I think the students should brush up on the "dentures with epilepsy" risk. They offer them, you say I have been advised not to have them by Neurologist, and they say that they have never heard of that before and still proceed. Not a good idea. Very nice people though.

Fantastic experience: Visited last Friday and was blown away by the amazing refurbishment of the waiting room . As a nervous patient I totally forgot where I was . It looks truly amazing ! Also had great treatment from Mathew and his dental nurse . He made me feel at ease and talked me through the 20 appointment .

Negative experience: I have been coming here for over 25 years and seeing Matthew Brock for a large period of that, he is a brilliant dentist and have always been impressed at the kind manner, service and attention I have had from him and assistants, long wait for appointments sometimes just because they are so busy, overall previously a 5 star review, mostly due to mr Brock and his dentistrty skills.. However, I just cannot reconcile the massive price increases over the last couple of years, at least twice this year.. my recent visit as an example, 8 mins in the chair for a simple extraction and it cost £250 .. that is an eye watering £1875 per hour.., that is a lot of money, a couple of years ago it was 88, then it went up to 120, then 160, then 180 earlier in the year, now 250 how can this be justified? to have that tooth out was about 1/40th of my annual income and I have had to result to removing a couple of teeth myself as I just cannot afford this, if i got all the recomended work done at the momment it would cost me half my wages this year and that is impossible.

Fantastic experience: I have been treated by a number of dentists over the years (60+) but I can say, quite categorically, that Matthew Brock at Dartmoor Dental is by far the best. His relaxed, calm & friendly manner puts one at ease, taking time to explain whatever procedure he's about to undertake. I had a tooth extraction today which was both painless & stress free, thanks to Matthews professionalism & expertise. I would also praise the staff at the practice, who are all friendly, efficient & helpful. Nobody, I guess, relishes a visit to the dentist but, if you have to, I would recommend Dartmoor Dental, they do everything possible to make it a pleasurable experience.

Fantastic experience: Over the years I have use several Hygienists and reluctantly left my last practice after many years due to a relocation. I have however never has such a thorough treatment as I did when I visited Rebecca Herod. Her concentration and care was exemplary and the results have been noticed. Matthew always puts me at ease during my visits, he explains things very well, listens and answers any queires I may have. The reception staff are always friendly and welcoming. It was nice to see a new member of the team, Rob Gallie during my recent visit. The renovations are coming along and am sure the practice will be very welcoming when complete.

He recommended that I saw the hygienist & I was fortunate to get a cancellation appointment for the next day. Rachel the hygienist was great & I don’t think my teeth have looked so clean. Positive experience: Generally, I have always received excellent service but my last booked appointment was cancelled one hour before the appointment with a phone call while I had made the journey to Tavistock from Calstock and did not have phone service so I arrived and was told it was cancelled. I had to wait for another hour and a half for the next bus home. That did not go well with me since the weather was very cold. I asked for another booking sooner that the three month wait that I was given but was told it cannot happen because I was on NHS service. I would love it if the hygienic work could be accomplished sooner.

Fantastic experience: Came here today and had an appointment with the owner Mike, I can’t fault my appointment he took his time with me throughout and made me feel very safe and comfortable. 5 star!!

Fantastic experience: A few days before Christmas Dartmoor Dental offered an appointment at very short notice and Mathew Brock was able to fully repair a broken tooth. I was impressed by how he explained what the problem was, the options and the efficiency with which he carried out the treatment. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and create a calm and welcoming atmosphere taking away the usual anxiety of a trip to the dentist.

Positive experience: Dental check up was late. It was booked 11.00 but I had to see hygienist first who was on time at 11.30 she was very good and thorough with her treatment. I eventually got to see the dentist 60 minutes late at 12.00. Not impressed with delay as no apology or reason was given. It states on your rules that if I was late I could be charged £100. Surely this should work both ways, as my time is also valuable.

Fantastic experience: I was seen within two days for a painful molar the needed extracting, even though I was an unregistered patient. Subsequently seen within four hours for a minor complication. The extraction was the least painful I've had. Thank you for all of that. Can't fault Dartmoor Dental.

Fantastic experience: This dental practice is incredible! I've had 2 wisdom tooth removals in the last year and Rebecca (the tooth pulling fairy!) is lovely, removing them quickly and with as little stress as possible. Allison the hygienist is possibly the friendliest lady I've ever met, I actually look forward to her appointments. They are also incredible with my 6 year old daughter for her check ups, she loves going in to talk to them and always comes out so happy with her experience.

Fantastic experience: ✅Receptionists - professional, polite and very presentable. I personally love their uniform, simple and classy! ✅ Reception Area - well-maintained, very organised and very tidy! Impressive for a dental practice. ✅Waiting Area - large and not cramped. Well-lit, airy and has a positive feel/vibe to it. I personally love the motif and colour scheme. Decor is minimalist, exactly to my liking! ✅Dental Assistants - the ladies are so lovely, I have nothing but kind and loving words for them. ✅Dentist - Dr. Matthew Brock is a breath of fresh air. He is a people person and always smiling. You can tell he cares about patients. So if you are nervous or scared to see a Dentist, don’t fret! Dr. Brock will make you feel comfortable and at ease. I am not sure if you can request for a Dentist when joining or registering with the practice but it’s worth asking the reception team if you could have him as your Dentist too! I am so pleased I am in very capable and very good hands. Excellent service, I could not ask for more. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: The first visit to the dentist in 6 years for my 13 year old who was very anxious about all the possibilities. Matthew was very calming and made my son feel comfortable, small steps but left feeling happy that it was ok. Would highly recommend especially if nervous! Could not fault and child happy to return in 6 months! A massive win for parents and a huge thank you to the practice!

Fantastic experience: Easy to register through the website as a new patient. Everyone was friendly, methodical, and took the time to explain what they’re doing and why. Was even willing to fit me in the same day for a filling instead of pushing it back to another visit. Highly recommend Dartmoor Dental!

Positive experience: Staff always helpful and attentive; however I had a lost incisor filling replaced and it came adrift the following day. Nevertheless I was given a half hour appointment for two days later and a somewhat more extensive replacement has been successfully installed.

Fantastic experience: It's now a week since Matthew finished my dental treatment and everything has settled in nicely. I am extremely grateful for the professional care Mathew has shown over my weeks treatment and for Timothy in the lab. I actually looked forward to seeing Matthew and Team it felt like fun! Fantastic experience: I had struggled to find any dentist that was accepting of my situation and then I found Dartmoor Dental. I was absolutely astonished at how calm all of the staff made me feel. They didn't judge me because of my status in society. I observed in the waiting room how they treat each client in the same calm and caring way. Negative experience: You have sent me three appointments and cancelled all three and told me that you would contact me but never have . This is a big let down as you now seem to be only concerned with you private patients and dropped all you national healthcare so it seem only money matters and not patients care , it seems it’s all about money money money , the national healthcare started the dentistry now money seems to matter more, if you can’t afford the dentist then go to your tool box and get your pliers out .regards Peter Smith

Fantastic experience: As a nervous patient, I have been under the care of Christiane Bethge who has a truly wonderful calm and reassuring working model. Christiane takes the time to understand your dental issues and your fears about dental work and I’ve never felt rushed or been made to feel foolish. I wholeheartedly recommend Christiane if you have any dental phobias. I also recently visited their hygienist Lauren Binns. This was my first ever hygiene appointment due to my dental phobia and I must say, I wish I’d done it years ago. Lauren explained at every stage what she was doing and which tools she was going to use and why, and the procedure was quick, stress free and done in a flash. My teeth felt great! Already booked my next appointment. Receptionists were all very welcoming and informative. 100% recommend this practice.

Positive experience: We have been coming to this dental practice for many years, as Lynbridge Dental before it was taken over by Dartmoor Dental. The receptionists, hygienist and dentist all complete their work efficiently and professionally. The care I have received has been good. However, the huge increase in fees is shocking. Charging exceedingly high prices for necessary dental work ( rather than cosmetic) is disappointing.

Negative experience: I am absolutely disgusted at the price you charged me of £500 for the extraction of two teeth which took approximately ten minutes. The teeth were already mobile. I am writing this on behalf of my pensioner husband who does not have a Google account.

Fantastic experience: I came for the extraction of a loose front tooth. I was welcomed warmly in Reception , and was made to feel comfortable. When collected to go to the surgery, this friendly reassuring approach continued by Jazz. In the treatment room, the procedure to be carried out was explained clearly, and the subsequent treatment was carried out very thoroughly and professionally by Chrissie. I was delighted with the way I was treated, and have hesitation in recommending Dartmoor Dental to any other patients. Excellent!
