Negative experience: Dentist is lovely but the reception team are terrible. It's like their job is to prevent you seeing the dentist rather than facilitate it. Paying privately and still cannot get an appointment so this cannot be blamed on the NHS! They also do not follow GDPR - share your personal data at your peril!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at PERFECT SMILE CLINIC for a number of years now,before covid restrictions and after as well.I was, initially a NHS patient at their clinic,but on recieving notification that they can no longer do NHS dental work due to drastic depletion of staff at this clinic,I decided to join a Patient Plan.Its just under £14 a month,and it means I can still get my teeth attended to without the hassle of checking out further dentists.I have always been satisfied with the treatment I receive at the clinic and am just relieved to be able to go back again to restart dental checks.My only gripe,( which has nothing to do with the treatment I receive) is that the clinic really is on the other side of York to where I live.So,Because I can't drive,I need my husband to take me and bring me back.Before I retired,4 years ago,I would always cycle up to Boroughbridge Road,but it's become a bit too far for me to cycle there,from Heworth,and I was getting anxious on the busy roads.Anyway,it works at the moment as I can get driven up there and will continue to do so for as long as is needed.I am settled and comfortable going to Perfect Smile Clinic,and always get a pleasant welcome from receptionists and dental staff and get good advice on dental health.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at this clinic when I brought my 9-year-old son for treatment. He had a deeply decayed baby tooth, with damage extending close to the root. After consulting with the dentist, we decided that extraction was the best course of action. The entire procedure was carried out with the utmost patience, precision, and gentleness to ensure that my son experienced minimal discomfort. The dentist was incredibly kind and attentive, taking the time to explain each step of the process to my curious little boy in a way that reassured him and helped him stay calm. This thoughtful approach made a significant difference in easing his anxiety. Overall, I am truly grateful to the professional and caring team at this clinic. My eldest was very nervous and my youngest had a bit of a meltdown last time I brought her but the dentist was so kind and patient with them both. It was a really positive experience for them, especially my youngest who loved the "funny chair".

Negative experience: Terrible experience here with negligent care. Submitted a complaint to the manager (who gave me her email address to do so). She did not get back to me within 10 working days as per complaint procedure. Has now been weeks and heard nothing. I would not recommend this dental practice, take your money elsewhere as if there is an issue they do not follow up or aim to rectify.

However, they were very professional and the dentist doing the check-up came over as quite knowledgeable. He gave good advice for looking after my teeth.

Fantastic experience: It is important to me to see the same dentist everytime I have an appointment, this as always been the case at perfect smile, apart from 1 appointment along time ago,and I wasn't happy about that,and upon making my next appointment I asked not to be seen by that dentist again, and since then I haven't, I'm happy with the dentist I see everytime I go there, I do take care of my teeth, but I smoke and drink far too much coffee and my dentist always tries to get me to have a deep clean and polish, but I'm a whimp and always get out of it because it hurts, but she tries on every appointment, I'm very happy with the treatment I receive.

Positive experience: I do pay 15£ which is on edge how much I would pay as if you have any problems it’s still expensive to fix it even with the 10% discount .I feel a get more attention and get better jobs done as they don’t need to rush than previous when it was NHS. My dentist is Nazia is really friendly, Irecommend her to anyone as she doing amazing jobs. Overall 4stars as it expensive,hopefully don’t rise they subscription soon again.

Fantastic experience: Well, what can I say about Perfect Smile Clinic. They are an absolutely fantastic team and I cannot recommend them enough!! From stepping foot in the clinic way back in 2022, they made me feel welcome, safe and comfortable. I was an extremely nervous patient from previous experiences and didn't really know if Invisalign was going to be for me. I had a consultation and cried with joy at the possible results. I never thought my teeth could be straightened without having some teeth extracted but I was shown it was possible with the full comprehensive treatment. After some initial treatment (2 x fillings) my journey began. I dedicated myself fully to the process and did everything Nazia asked of me wearing my aligners as close to the recommended 22 hours. I started flossing which was all new to me and impressed Leanne with my progress each time I visited for a check up. I had a few set backs along the way but this was to be expected as teeth movement can be unpredictable. Finally after 16 months, the results were even better than i ever imagined!! Yet more tears of joy when Nazia handed me the mirror but well worth the extra aligners I needed and the extra time it took. If you are considering Invisalign, pay a visit to Perfect Smile Clinic. You will not be disappointed with the service you receive

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Perfect Smile clinic for about 12 years now and can't fault them. My dentist's called Nazia and i can honestly say she's one of the best dentists I've ever had I chipped my front tooth and she repaired it and did a brilliant job.

Negative experience: Approach with SERIOUS CAUTION… Dr Aamir Ismail used to be my dentist at his previous workplace in Bath. I feel an obligation to warn you, dear person looking for a dentist in York. I strongly do not recommend Dr Aamir Ismail. In the time I was his patient all four fillings he placed were horrendous quality with one failing after only one month. He pushed for an inappropriate root canal out of unwillingness to perform a replacement for a failed filling. He also neglected areas of decay knowingly. When he took an initial x-ray that revealed serious decay in a tooth he… said nothing. Did… nothing. For two years. I very nearly lost the tooth, which was only saved through the expert hands of my new dentist. But he changed out a totally fine filling for a jagged lump because supposedly there was decay there, he says! I think that this was not true and was an easy way to make money out of me. I have seen two other separate reviews on Google at his old practice, explicitly saying Dr Ismail left decay untreated for years. I settled out of court with Dr Aamir Ismail’s insurers for his negligence and abysmal work. If you choose this dentist, document all interactions like you’re preparing for court… My experience was in 2022. I fail to see how my experience is unrelated...only one Aamir Ismail is registered with the General Dental Council.

Positive experience: I couldn't give less stars as it directed me to the practice and was unable to write a review. My son attended this clinic after getting a call to say they had loads of spaces with a NHS dentist. My son is Autistic. When we went in the room I advised them of his condition. They did try to advise my son what was happening, but they didn't have the same experience as our previous dental surgery. It just depends if they have Autistic experience. Most Autistic children need reasurance and small breaks even just to ask if they are all okay. Unfortunately I didn't like the way the dentist lady spoke to her dental nurse. It was very unprofessional in front of a customer. I felt the dental nurse was intimidated by the dentist. You could see she didn't want to do anything to upset the dentist. Our previous practice made the dental nurse feel relaxed and confident to do there job as its a team effort. Possibly they need some staff training. No one should go to work wondering if your colleagues are in a good mood or not. Hopefully it has been addressed and no further issues for the dental nurse.

Nazia explained everything in great detail and we agreed a treatment plan that we were both happy with. Approximately 16 months later and I’m finished, with a smile that I never thought was possible! Nazia’s attention to detail is meticulous! She kept a close eye on my progress and tweaked the plan as needed to ensure we achieved the results we have. Fantastic experience: Was really anxious about going to the dentist as I do not have great teeth and from the moment I arrived and left it was a great experience. The dentist did not make me feel ashamed of having bad teeth but instead was very informative about my options and even booked me in with him again so that I wouldn't have to wait so long for my next appointment. Negative experience: I signed up to book a consultation and then realised that it was not all online as advertised. I live over 5 hours away from York. I then decided to not answer the phone call which I was told would happen as a way of opting out. I then had a second phone call to which I ignored off the same number. I then started receiving message after message on my WhatsApp from someone called Leanne asking me to book a consultation. After reading and not responding to the first message, I then received a second phone call from a mobile number which I later worked out, was Leanne's. After answering that phone number and popping myself on mute as I had a random mobile number calling me, they hung up and proceeded to message me a second time, which I did not respond to. Then, 4 days later, I received another text message from Leanna about this consultation to which I responded " would it be okay if you could stop messaging me please? I didn't realise you guys were based in York and though you guys would get the hint when I didn't answer your 3 phone calls on 2 different numbers and your now 3 messages." Feeling slightly harassed, I then stayed on the WhatsApp chat and noticed Leanne typing to which I responded that due to me asking her nicely to stop I am going to block her as I can see she is typing and mentioned I will be writing this review. To me it just seemed very unprofessional and pushy to continuously contact someone after no response from them and I genuinely feel very harassed and quite frankly annoyed that after politely asking for the messages to stop she kept trying to respond. Don't sign up to this company unless you want to be harassed over the course of 2 weeks and god knows how much longer for showing interest in what was promised as an online service.

Fantastic experience: Rang the clinic on the 8th December to see if the clinic was taking on new patients, as I had a problem with what turned out to be an absess. I was seen the following day, the reception staff were brilliant, met Dr Aamir ismail who gave me antibiotics, and arranged extraction two weeks later. The service so far has been excellent, looking forward to my appointment in July. Would highly recommend this practice.

Positive experience: Good dentist, no complaints about dental work or the friendliness and care of the staff. Can be quite hard to get an appointment, you always need to leave a voice message and they do call you back, but often this isn’t at a convenient time so there ends up being a bit of to-ing and fro-ing. Like all dentists, would benefit from an NHS service!

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with the treatment I received yesterday but I am very unhappy the way the treatment plan. I started on the treatment plan April 2022 and yesterday was my first appointment. I cannot get a hygiene appointment until March 2024 I am supposed to receive 2 dental and 2 hygiene visits every 6 months after completing 6 monthly payments. I have asked to speak with the practise manager with no joy. Receptionist say they cannot help as they are to busy as they are on their own dealing with 1000's of patients. But I noticed when I was waiting they were very quick to give all information about the plan anc charges when I new patient contacted them

Negative experience: Never answer the phone left numerous voice messages still haven't heard anything back. And try to book my appointment online can't do that either.
