Oakleigh House Dental Practice

Negative experience: While the dentists at this practice are excellent and provide a high standard of care, the experience at the front desk can be very mixed. Two of the reception staff, unfortunately, have consistently shown poor communication skills — they often talk over patients, fail to listen properly, and seem disconnected from the needs of those they are assisting. They also have a tendency to speak in a dismissive or patronizing manner, which can be quite frustrating and off-putting. Their approach feels outdated and rigid, which detracts significantly from the overall experience. On a more positive note, the other two receptionists — a younger staff member and another who appears to lead the team — are professional, attentive, and efficient. They make interactions easy and pleasant, and they’re a credit to the practice. It’s disappointing that the front desk service is so inconsistent, especially when the clinical care is so strong. A more cohesive and patient-focused reception team would greatly improve the overall experience.

Fantastic experience: Professional dentist practice. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly team in a modern reception. Mr Baig, Zahra, Roxanna and the other practitioners take good care of their patients.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here since I was a child and have always been very pleased with the service I have received. The dentists and hygienists I have seen here have always been reassuring, knowledgeable and never make the appointments feel rushed. The appointments always run on time, and the whole Practice is organised, clean and makes you feel at ease. The receptionists are also very friendly and happy to help where they can. A great Practice all round.

Fantastic experience: Very good service, always feel well informed and good comunication given about next steps and possible treatments. Some state of the art tech too, enhanced by AI to help monitor X-rays. Extra plus point 1hr parking bays across the road makes parking so much easier now. Dare I say the refurbishment makes going to the Dentist almost a pleasure !

They make me feel incredibly comfortable and calm throughout any procedure I have needed. They’ve also gone out of their way to accommodate my schedule at incredibly short notice. Fantastic experience: I recently visited Oakleigh House after having many complications with another dental practice. I was seen by Dr. Rony and I was thoroughly impressed! He was absolutely amazing, making me feel at ease from the very start. He explained the entire process with care and made sure I felt comfortable and relaxed at every stage. Dr Rony answered all my questions and constantly reassured me when I had queries. Nurse Rukshana, who helped me with joining the practice, was also incredibly kind and helpful throughout - she was super smiley, friendly and efficient. Despite being anxious about visiting dentists, my experience at Oakleigh House was a really positive one and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Negative experience: Not impressed As soon as you mention you don't pay for treatment for whatever reason, they put you on this invisible waiting list and rush to hang up the phone on you I am sure if I mentioned that I pay, I will be registered the same day. People get treated sooo differently these days...shame

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend the practice, I have been attending Oakleigh House dentist for over 50 years and over that time have always received a very high standard of treatment. I am currently seen by Dr Shahana and Binita for my dental care and Dicxi for my hygienist appointments. They always take time to discuss any treatment that is required and put your mind at rest.

Fantastic experience: Great experience (as good as having 5 filings in one sitting can be)! Dr Rony and dental nurse Nessa were very attentive, checking I was getting on ok regularly. I have had some minor quibbles with the same practice years ago but Dr Rony has been great. He did both of my kid’s appointments too and was great with them.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending this practice for at least 40 years. Dr Rankin before and now Dr Kas has been looking after my teeth. The receptionist through to Dixci the hygienist has been superb in carrying out their duties. Telephone calls for appointments and emergencies are dealt with very professionally. My current dentist Dr Kas is exceptionally good in all aspects of dentistry and managing pain is her expertise. All children should experience her skill. I have just had a crown (4th or 5th) and the job was carried out very smoothly.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this dental practice highly enough! Despite being a busy NHS practice, they always go the extra mile to provide exceptional care. They’ve fit me in at short notice on more than one occasion, even taking the time to call if there’s a cancellation so we can "get it sorted before the weekend." The staff are all wonderful—from the dentist who is professional, trustworthy, and truly an excellent practitioner—I always feel confident that I'm in good hands, the caring dental nurse, who always has a big smile and checks that I’m comfortable, to the highly organised and efficient reception team. Fantastic experience: Dr Shahana and Sinita really put me at ease in the dentist chair. Nobody relishes the thought of going to the dentist but I can honestly say they made me so feel comfortable it wasn't stressful at all. The reception staff are also extremely friendly and welcoming.

I have been with Oakleigh House for many years and have always been very satisfied with my treatment. I also attend the Hygienist Harishri who is excellent. Fantastic experience: For the past 29 years, I have been a patient at Oakleigh House Dental Practice. I must commend Mr. Baig (dentist) and Rukhsana (dental nurse) for their exceptional care. Seventeen years ago, I suffered from severe tooth decay and wished to have the affected tooth extracted due to the pain and deterioration. However, Mr. Baig advised me to preserve the tooth and recommended a crown. To this day, the tooth remains intact and is seamlessly covered to match the color of my other teeth. During routine check-ups, my family and I have always been treated with the utmost professionalism and friendliness. We particularly appreciate the dental nurse, Rukhsana, who consistently welcomes us warmly, treats us kindly, and provides valuable advice and tips on dental care. I have never been made to feel so comfortable and looked after by a dentist practice. The whole team is fantastic from a warm welcome to a thorough consultation and great treatment. I've left feeling cared for and valued as a patient. The receptionists are always genuinely smiley, helpful, and friendly, and the dentist Dr. Nausheed Baig and his nurse assistant, Rukshana Sultana, are absolutely lovely. The dentist gives you all the time in the world, it seems, has a chat with you and properly engages before suggesting you lie back in the chair, and he appears genuinely interested in one. Usually, it's a bit of a production line - which is ok, but this makes one feel part of a family, somehow. His assistant is engaged with the whole process, too, rather than just being someone lurking about in the background, and all in all, I have felt welcomed every time I've been. I couldn't recommend this practice warmly enough. 10/10 service.

Negative experience: Awful experience with Dr Kaz. I went into the dental practice for an emergency appointment due to sensitivity in a tooth. Dr kaz said I had an open cavity and she filled it very quickly with a filling without doing an xray of the tooth. She said that I would need a root canal and that I needed to book another appointment for this treatment. I left the surgery with the earliest appointment they had (July 10th)! 2 hours later I was in excruciating pain, the pain was constant and unbearable. I called the surgery back seeking advice. They called me back to pick up a prescription for antibiotics. I got there within 10minutes and requested to speak with Dr kaz to explain why I was in so much pain. Dr kaz had already left despite my request to reception that I would like to speak with her. The prescription was not stamped so I would not have been given the antibiotics anyway. I was in the reception room in agony pleading with the receptionists to allow for a dentist to look at my tooth. They were reluctant and explained noone was there. 2 minutes later a patient left and the receptionist kindly changed her mind. A dentist became available- she was a God send. I'm indebted to her ( I dont remember her name but will find out and post a review). She took an x Ray of the tooth and explained that the filling was compressing my nerve causing the excruciating pain. She acted quickly, camly and with great care. Complete negligence on Dr kaz's part. I would have been in A&E over this bank holiday weekend had this dentist not performed half a rootcanal on me and re-written a prescription for me. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Having a filling compress on your nerve without any antibiotics is torture. Had Dr kaz done an x Ray before shovelling a filling in my mouth she would have known not to have done the filling. The most tragic part of this whole experience was that I wasn't in any pain before I got there and I explained this to Dr kas. It was only when I chewed with that tooth did I feel any pain but after her work on me I was in tears from the sheer pain.

Fantastic experience: I didn't go to a dentist for 15 years due to previous painful experiences. My friend recommended Mr Bague and said he was gentle, understanding and made you feel relaxed. She didn't lie. He is an incredible dentist. The bridge he puy in for me was to last approx 5 to 6 years, it lasted 13 years. Not once have I felt pain. Even the numbing injections don't hurt. I will be forever thankful to him, I wouldn't have any teeth left if not for this man. Highly recommend him and his practice.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with the dental treatment I received from Mr Baig regarding my teeth extraction. It was done professionally and everything explained to me as to what to expect. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any kind of dental treatment. His assistant Rukhsana was taking good care of me too.

Fantastic experience: After being nervous to get my first hygiene clean as I heard it can be painful sometimes, a family member recommended this practice and I have been coming here ever since. I have been having hygiene cleans with Dixci for a while now and each time has been a positive, and comfortable experience. I also recently got a filling done by Dr Shahana Baig and Binita, and I must say they made something I was initially quite scared about turn into a pleasant procedure! They explained the process step by step and always made sure I was comfortable. I have had a bad experience at other practices in the past (pain-wise) with being given numbing injections but I must say this time I barely even felt the numbing injections which was amazing! The staff who work here are warm and welcoming, and I am very glad to be a patient at this practice.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Oakleigh House now for many years and it has always been extremely friendly and professional. My current dentist Dr Kas is just wonderful, friendly and extremely dedicated to her profession and simply makes the experience an enjoyable one.

Negative experience: Avoid, unless you don’t mind being spoken to in the worse way possible and made to leave crying! Already a nervous patient which they were aware, I was spoken to in such a belittling and nasty way, I left in tears and was then refused to be seen by anyone else, which is shocking and neglectful considering they say don’t speak to staff in an abusive manner, what about patients??? I was left so upset and distraught I ended up having a mini Stroke! I’m happy now I’m with a fantastic new practice now that have given the correct advice and treatment for myself and children. Fantastic experience: Came to this surgery in excruciating pain and with a terrible fear of dentists. The team I met put me at ease and addressed the immediate issue. Subsequently transpired a very difficult route canal and crown was required, Dr Shahana and Binita did this without a hint of pain. These guys were great. Cannot praise enough. Would highly recommend this practice. Staff are great and true professionals.

Dixci the hygienist gave my teeth the attention they needed today which she does fantastically on a regular basis followed by a small procedure by Mr Baig who has looked after me for thirty years. I am a nervous patient but Dr Kas' friendly and welcoming style has always enabled me to relax. Positive experience: Dr Kaz is brilliant! Wonderful job done today, 11th February 2022, HOWEVER, dental assistant or nurse nearly brunt a hole through my chin lower lip trying to cure my fillings with a UV light. I mentioned it 3 times to her during procedure but the last time she used it it was directed at my lower chin and lip which is painful and feels burnt. I hope I don't have to deal with this lady again but Dr.Kas on the other hand is great!

Fantastic experience: Updated review 4 years later: Still the same friendly feeling. My dentist Dr Shahana and nurse Binita are as I remembered: friendly and warm. I'm still scared of dentist! But you definitely won't be when come here, everyone makes sure you're comfortable and understood everything that's happening. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Service: excellent - considerate of patient's feelings and respectful of their choices (some places would suggest you do more than you need!) Atmosphere: friendly, comfortable and clean. Staff: professional and polite - they're like the fun and nice aunties you see at dinner gatherings. Overall: as someone who is terrified(!!!) of dentists... I can positively say I was put at ease very quickly, everything was great. Every step taken it was explained to me or asked if it was ok. Of course, not saying it isn't painful, but being in the hands of a dentist you trust and feel comfortable with - can't ask for more.

Fantastic experience: I have no hesitation in writing a five star review for Oakleigh House Dental practice. We have moved out of London and we could not be seen by any NHS dentists in our new area. No one was taking on new patients. We were relieved to find that Oakleigh had not erased us from their records. Due to Covid etc., we had not seen a dentist for a very long time and I was expecting a very unclean bill of health, when my wife and I went for a much needed check up and clean. I was surprised to learn that my teeth were in excellent condition, needing no treatment, which is a tribute to the treatment that I had received before the Covid crisis. They have state of the art technology and their examinations are always detailed and thorough. We first used the Practice in 2018 and all the treatment that we received have been first class. As a result we have decided to stay with them even though we shall have to make journeys of about 50 miles by car for treatment. The travelling and time will be worth it. Oh I nearly forgot to say, all the staff are polite, helpful and very friendly. We always get a warm welcome.

Negative experience: I went to this practise about a year ago, I am still to this day unsettled and slightly traumatised by my bad experience. During my hygienist appointment, the woman who did my teeth told me that I had recession, erosion and proceeded to overly scrape my teeth until they bled more than normal, she told me that I brush too hard and that I don't brush hard enough in the same session, her energy was very negative and unhelpful and slightly condescending. I felt as though she was upset that my teeth has minimal calculus to scrape. I have decided to wait until now to post this review, as I have since had a second and now today- a third opinion by another dental hygienist who disagree with the diagnosis I received at this practise. Please be careful and conscious about how you communicate with your patients, especially when they care about looking after their teeth.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to this dental practice for over 30 years. Recently had extensive treatments with numerous visits. Both Dr Shahana and Binita were caring , proffesional , very competent and took the time to explain the treatments and costs. Would highly recommend. Reception staff also very helpful.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Oakleigh House Dental Practice for a few years now and have always received a first rate service from very professional and pleasant people. Recently I had root canal work carried out on a molar. I was really impressed. Having been told stories over the years by relatives about how painful such work is I was amazed to find that I had no pain whatsoever either during the procedure or since. The tooth was drilled out, the nerve was neutralised and the canals were cleaned and disinfected and I didn’t feel any discomfort whatsoever. I have just been back for the work to be checked and everything is perfect. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: An exceptional dental practice! I was booked in for a white filling at Oakleigh House Dental Practice and was welcomed by the receptionist (Margaret) as I arrived. Dr Nausheed Baig and Rukshana were extremely friendly and showed deep care when treating me. Dr Baig took the time to put me at ease as he explained what to expect before proceeding. Throughout the procedure, they both repeatedly checked up on me to ensure that I was okay. Once complete, Dr Baig showed me the results on his monitor and I was unable to point out to where the filling was made as the results where simply immaculate. The whole process went very smoothly, and the team are extremely likeable. I will definitely return to Oakleigh House for any dental needs in the future and highly recommend them.

As a adult I have been to the dentist multiple times in my life always with anxity, But Dr SHAHANA gave me confidence that when I needed a extraction I would be in the best of hands and I was , The dentists assist are very professional And capable of there dutys . Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this dental practice highly enough. In fact - I travel over an hour each way for my appointments! I am VERY nervous (although I have no idea why as everyone at the practice is super friendly and amazing to deal with!) and have been a patient here for too many years to count. I have had a number of 'big' procedures including extraction, root canal & crowns - and every single time Mr Baig and his dental assistant Roxana have walked me through, making everything stress & anxiety free and more importantly a painless experience. Would absolutely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Been to oakleigh house today - hygeniest first (very good and lovely lady) and then Cas (not sure I have spelt that correctly). Absolutely brilliant dentist - had quite alot done and was nervous. She did a brilliant job - kept me very calm - gave me breaks - even massaged my achey jaw. Very personable kind person and I would definitely recommend her.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. All the people here were very gentle and kind to me. They explained very well what was going on. My Dentist Shahana and her Nurse Binita is such a great person and a great dentist as well! Dr Shahana put me at ease and it's very informal. They're honest with any work and don't hide anything. Fantastic experience: My whole family has been seeing Dr Baig for over 25 years, one recommendation has lead to another . Both my Aunties who live outside the borough now will only go to him. I also travel to see him since I moved years ago. My niece also went to see him as a second opinion which saved her over two thousand pounds as another dentist had wanted to charge for work which not necessary as her teeth straighten as she grew up which Dr Baig said would be the case. Dr Baig and his lovely nurse are always are very friendly and take time to explain and reassure you and take care of you The receptionists are also great very friendly and take time to listen and advise and have given me free samples of toothpaste to try as my teeth can be sensitive on occasions.

Fantastic experience: I got an appointment as a new patient at Oakleigh House when I was having trouble with a hole in my tooth. I was given an appointment very quickly and saw Dr Shahana who explained everything I needed to know and was extremely lovely and welcoming. Negative experience: Worst Dental Practice!!! Beware of these guys who push new or returning customers to book same day premium appointments to get More Money from them!!! Dr Shahana Baig who happens to be one of the Principal Doctor at this clinic is worst Dentist I have ever met!! For a doctor at this stage of her career, I found her professional practice style was quite irresponsible towards me... I was in Pain and without doing the thorough examination of my dental issue, she asked me to book new appointment with a different dentist at her clinic who I may have seen 5 years ago. And the receptionist said that particular dentist is not available for next 6 weeks on regular appointment but can become available if I pay again for Premium slot!! Otherwise I should suffer in Pain!! These guys don’t show any care or concern towards the patients.. Avoid this Dental practice if you can !!

Fantastic experience: I have been to this dentist first time. Excellent service. I was with Shahana and Binita. They were both so good. I did my extraction with Dr Shahana and she was explaining me step by step and I didn’t feel the pain at all. She was very good and the nurse Binita was very helpful. Fantastic experience: I used to go to this dentist then moved away from the area. Towards the end of 2020, I had horrendous toothache and was unable to get an emergency appointment with my dentist. Oakleigh House were so helpful and accommodating. They saw me the next day and really helped me through the pain. Since then, I have had to have a lot of work done (I have learnt my lesson about going to the dentist on a regular basis because of this!) They have always been amazingly helpful, flexible and friendly. The work that has been done has always been carried out with care. They have always taken the time to explain everything to me, from every decision process, to the price options, to the necessary after-care and next steps. Not only are the dental staff fantastic, the reception staff are also lovely - smiley, friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this dental practice highly enough. You will not find a more professional and caring dental practice.

Fantastic experience: As always fantastic service from the lovely receptionists to the hygienist to Mr Baig who owns the practise. Nothing is too much trouble, you never feel rushed and the aftercare is amazing. I cannot recommend this dental surgery highly enough. Fantastic experience: I had a root canal done with Shahana Baig, suffering from health anxiety I was apprehensive about the procedure. Shahana made me comfortable and totally at ease. The procedure was done in 45 min. I felt at ease and the level of consultation and information throughout the procedure was immaculate.
