Pennypot Dental Hythe

Negative experience: Good dentist have been coming here for couple of years, i really like my dentist but the only reason i am leaving 2 star is i think one of the lady in reception who has been there for quite a while can get bit rude, i was dealt rudely on a phone call several months ago and i asked to be passed to the manager and manager herself very rude and unhelpful. Kept repeating herself again and again. It felt like a teenager managing the practice. Other than that, my dentist is wonderful and never had any problems with her.

Fantastic experience: I have had some treatment from Davina over two sessions one was over 2 hours long. Davina was wonderful explained everything and at each stage told me what was happening. She gave me lots of pain relief and did not feel any pain at all. She was very professional kind and really looked after me. Nash you have a wonderful dentist in hythe. Thank you Davina.xc

Positive experience: The receptionists are lovely. Friendly and thoughtful. My dentist is very caring and professional. The root canal expert is exceptional in his professionalism and expertise. I didn't give you 5 stars because I had to wait so long for the root canal treatment. I endured 4 lots of antibiotics and repeat infections, that eventually led to an abscess and emergency hospital treatment. Perhaps I was unlucky, but I have a feeling it would have been less if it could have been treated earlier.

Felt like I was their only patient given the time they spent explaining to me what treatment was needed, why and their reassurance that the procedure would be painless (which it was) and approached with empathy. True professionals.

Childhood trauma at the dentist has never left me but the team at Penny Pot go over and above to make each visit a calming experience from walking in the door to sitting in the treatment chair. Totally recommend this practice .

Fantastic experience: I have been using PennyPot Dental Hythe for many years now having previously had a bad experience with a local private dentist. There is no comparison between PennyPot and my previous dentist - yes it is further to drive, but I have always found PennyPot to be very professional, very polite, very efficient and very friendly. I cannot fault PennyPot in any way! Due to the unfortunate and very sad early death of my previous dentist, I now have a new dentist and am very pleased. I have just had a tooth crowned and I can honestly say that the treatment was perfect. No pain or discomfort whilst drilling, excellent temporary filling and the final result is just brilliant.

Negative experience: I'm retired and living on state pension and some savings. I had to find a dentist who accepted NHS patients. I enquired at Pennypot dentist in New Romney and paid a fee for an assessment.All OK and I was very happy to be accepted as a NHS patient I needed two extractions - no alternative was suggested so I went ahead. What happened to me at the Hythe branch was beyond belief. The injections were very painful and adminstered in a very brusque fashion. There was no enquiry from the dentist as to whether my gums felt numb. Almost immediately I had two teeth wrenched out . In 65 years of dentist visits I have never expereienced the pain I suffered that day. I was in shock and had to wait about 2 hours before I felt well enough to drive home. I have reported my shocking experience to the NHS complaints Service. I truly believe that being an NHS patient annoyed the dentist (Patel) and he punished me Because he made less money.

She was after a referral from our long standing Doctor Omar (as our original Dental Practionioner at Pennypot, who is now practicing at the New Ashford Practice). Doctor Sunuka, with reference to my wife and myself, "is absolutely brilliant in her attention to detail, understanding, patience and knowledge and an outstanding credibility to the owner of the Practice", Thank you to all the team, "Receptionists, Dentists, Oral Care Hygienists and all behinds the scenes, Thank you. Negative experience: I have been struck off! I feel so disappointed. I always gave Pennypot Dental Hythe such praise, they have an amazing team of staff and they have always gone above and beyond to help... Until now. I recently missed an appointment, I got the appointment mixed up on my phone calendar, completely my fault. When I discovered this just hours later I called and apologised and asked for another appointment as I was in pain. I was told by the receptionist that I have been temporarily suspended. When I asked why I was told that I had missed 3 appointments, one was back in 2014! I explained that I had missed the other one due to my partner having a severe stroke and I was assured at the time that this wouldn't affect my record. That clearly wasn't the case. I was asked by the receptionist to email into the surgery which I did so straight away, I didn't receive any response. I called again a couple of days later and was told that the practice manager was on annual leave and would contact me on their return. Today I received a generic letter telling me that I had been removed from the practice and to look for another dentist. Shocked I called Pennypot Hythe and was on hold for over 15 minutes, I thought it was a little strange so called on my partner's phone and got through straight away. I expressed my concern at the letter I had received and was basically told there was nothing that can be done. I'm appalled by the level of customer service I have received here over the last few days and I'm so shocked. Like I said in the beginning, the staff have always been exceptional. What's happened recently? I'm lucky enough to have found another local dental practice that has taken me on but I really didn't want to have to move.

Negative experience: Kicked off the books!!! I was an NHS patient of the Hythe branch together with my family for numerous years and have always found them polite and very professional - Then Covid happened Obviously this took a chunk out of everyone's lives for a while and with places starting to open again, I made the conscious decision not to contact my dentist as my teeth were fine and thought that any appointments should go to those who need it first. Following appointments for my wife and children, I thought it best that I go for a check up, so I asked my wife to make the appointment and she was informed that I was no longer registered because I hadn't attended for over two years and those are the rules. In all fairness, I agree that rules should be followed as we would just have complete chaos, but I do object to being quoted rules when they were not explained/shared at the time of registering. Additionally, in the 21st century, would you not think it possible to make a phone call, send an email, send an SMS or if you need to, write a letter to advise that a visit is now due and if you don't attend within X weeks, you will forfeit your NHS place. Shame on you. Response to owner reply 26th June 2024 We are all aware of the shortage of NHS places within certain areas of the UK, but it would be common decency to explain your "practice policy" from the outset - how can you play by the rules if you are not told them. Regarding attending appointments, I don't believe that I failed to attend any.

Fantastic experience: I have anxiety of going to the dentist and hadn't been for many years due to this but I was made to feel welcome and put at easy but the reception staff and the dentist. I was able to talk freely about what was wrong and was treated with the utmost respect. Thank you very much all of you.

Fantastic experience: I had nothing but the best experience with Pennypot Hythe. I started with a consultation with Davina Philips . I decided to have my teeth straightened, whitened, fillings replace to white, have veneers, composite bonding and crowns . Then we went into lockdown and I continued with my straightening and whitening! Once allowed back in Davina finished my teeth in the most immaculate, professional and friendliest way I have ever seen a dentist to carry out their duties . She is the most professional and friendliest dentist I have ever met. A definite a 10/10! I also started to see Makhusi (the hygienist in Hythe) and she does an amazing job too. She is friendly and professional and it is a pleasure to see her every six months ! My husband and I are extremely happy with their services, as well as the staff at the reception. I do not know that many people look forward to going to a dental surgery but we definitely do! PS I can’t attach photos for some reason .

He had been very nervous about coming to the dentist but Rauand had an excellent manner with him - gentle and reassuring, but also just got on with it quickly without any fuss. I was extremely pleased with how the appointment went.

The receptionist was lovely and the dentist I saw Dr Arturas was kind, caring and very good. Dr Arturas has resolved the issue that I was having. This has left me pain free after a long time, could you please pass on my thanks and gratitude to him. Always good treatment with Pennypot, I could not fault them for their professional service.

Fantastic experience: I was put up for a checkup at Pennypot Dental, the moment I entered through the doors the reception staff were extremely friendly and directed me towards the room I need to go to, I was quite worried by the fact I had to take out my tooth that day but Dr Rauand and his Co-Worker instantly soothed my concerns and I was pleased by the experience at Pennypot. My tooth extraction was quick and painless and the Staff were amazing! It was perhaps the most positive experience I have ever experienced I would definitely recommend this Dentistry to anyone.

Niyas is consistently professional and takes time to understand my concerns and gives excellent advice. My appointments are never rushed and I really notice the positive difference in my oral hygiene after every visit. I have full confidence in Niyas and know that he is taking great care of my needs. Niyas is highly recommended.

Dr Manoj phased in a programme of restorative work over several months to make it affordable. I still have most of my teeth thanks to Dr Manoj and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a knowledgeable and highly skilled dental practitioner.
