Fantastic experience: Join Southcliff Dental group early this year . Loads of parking and spoilt with public transport as located in the heart of Southampton . This Dentist welcomes private also NHS customers which is a nice equilibrium. Pleasant atmosphere, great staff and the main box are very nice professional guy thank you.
Negative experience: They did a horrible job on my front teeth filling. It chipped away after 1 week.
Negative experience: You will not get them to answer the phone and they outright lie to your face. Been waiting 2+ years for a tooth extraction that they can't do because they don't have the equipment to pull teeth.. Why?? And then said they'd sent a referral to NHS hospital to have it. Called them today thinking this is taking a long time. Twice they've 'sent the referal' NHS has received nothing from them when I called today. Horrid scammers

Fantastic experience: Wonderfully experience. Took my asd son for teeth extraction. Dentist Sena and nurse Amrit dealt with him very professionally. They had lot of patience as my 6 years old son would literally refuse throughout the whole process at first however after so many stickers and convincing him to do the treatment i.e extraction he would agree in every step. The whole procedure took 2 hours as my son is very difficult to deal with but hats off to Sena. Highest regards to them and highly recommend the practice.

Negative experience: I called this clinic to make an appointment, but unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The person I spoke with was unhelpful, gave me no clear information, and simply referred me to another clinic without explaining why. I was left confused and frustrated, especially since I expected better support from a healthcare provider. I hope the clinic improves its customer service and communication — patients deserve to be treated with more care and respect.
Negative experience: I had an appointment at the shirley practice. I felt like i was put in a corner of the waiting room and other people were coming in and being seen. I put up with screaming and unruly children and nothing was said to the parents. The receptionists did not apologise or update me on my appointment. I waited over an hour, and then walked out. It was absolutely disguting.

Negative experience: Such a ramshackle dentist, tried to push me to paying private fees even though it’s an NHS dentist. They said the private treatment was “more suitable for me”. Then went to leave and there was a lot of confusion about how much I pay and when I can pay it which was very annoying. Would not recommend, not surprised this was the only dentist taking new patients.

Negative experience: Have tried and tried to make an appointment about my new dentures not fitting. Constantly telling me I have a bad line but I've been using my phone all day without a problem they Constantly put the phone down they don't speak clearly and the wait time is horrendous for them to answer I was number 1 in cue and they hung up as soon as I got through. Once dentures are sorted I'm done with this dentist

Negative experience: If I could give this dentist zero stars, I would. I went in for a routine filling and left with a serious injury — a drill punctured my tongue. I was not offered an apology, acknowledgment, or proper aftercare. I made it clear I was nervous. The dentist insisted on starting without an anesthetic, and within seconds, the drill went through my tongue — not my tooth. I began bleeding heavily and felt faint while the dentist and assistant panicked. Instead of taking responsibility, they implied it was my fault — which it absolutely was not. I left in tears, bleeding, and had to be taken to A&E by colleagues. I was not advised to seek medical attention by the clinic. I later received a casual call asking me to return in two weeks — still no apology, no concern, and no reassurance. I’ve missed work, experienced serious pain, and this has impacted my mental health. I’ve never been more afraid to go back to a dentist. I’ve submitted a formal complaint and will be reporting this to the General Dental Council and Care Quality Commission. This practice has shown a complete lack of responsibility and care. Please do not go here — for your own safety and mental and physical wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: I accidentally went to the wrong dentist but they were able to fit me in to an appointment. The service from all staff was fantastic. The dentist I saw introduced herself and she was really warm and friendly and put me at ease. She explained everything I needed to do in follow up appointments and gave me the different options. The receptionist was then able to book both my follow up sessions to fit around my time. I was really pleased with the service and I’m very glad I joined this dentist. They are quick and efficient.

Negative experience: I wish I had read the reviews before registering to this dental clinic. I have only one thing to stay. SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY. Find a better clinic. The customer service is appalling and inexistent. The staff is more interested in chatting to each other than answering basic questions.They seem clueless about everything. They cant speak basic English, mind you, english is not my first language either, but good lord, if you're going to be a receptionist, find someone who can actually talk to customers. I paid for a band 1 treatment after reading what it covers (scaling and polishing), and they DID NOT deliver, when I asked them why I didn't get the service I just paid for. They looked at each other and shrugged and asked me to pay £75 more to get it done. They NEVER pick up the phone. You have to basically physically walk in the clinic to book an appointment. The room is dirty, the tools they are using are questionable, because everything looks dirty. How on earth did these people get a licence to operate is mind-boggling. The dentist could be the only good thing going on there but he is never there, and he is not enough to keep this sinking ship afloat. 1/10 score.

Negative experience: My grandmother had just come out of hospital and needed help fixing her dentures. When we arrived for her 12:00 PM appointment, we got a call asking where we were. We explained that we were outside and were getting her in slowly due to her limited mobility. The receptionist then came outside, visibly annoyed, and questioned why we hadn’t arrived earlier knowing my grandmother’s condition. This was insensitive and unhelpful. The building was not wheelchair accessible, so my grandmother struggled with the stairs while the receptionist stood watching without offering any help. She eventually had to sit on the step, unable to continue. My grandmother was made to feel like an inconvenience, which is completely unacceptable. Thankfully, the dentist showed kindness and did the appointment outside despite the receptionist's clear disapproval. I would strongly advise others not to take elderly or vulnerable relatives here, as the staff showed no compassion or understanding when it was needed most.

Negative experience: I had extraction of my tooth, bit of tooth was left as he couldn't take it off. Been told its OK it will pop out on his own.After taking antibiotics and whait few months start get worst ,after visit been told to whait again that it will heal. After nearly 10 months half of my face is in pain, it's not heal and it's still open after extraction. The pain goes to my eye and ear, my gum swells. And they don't care about still need to whait for visit and its hard to.find now dentist surgery to fix that
Negative experience: I joined this NHS dentist due to lack of other options following the pandemic, and can now see why they were the only clinic accepting patients. The service is truly terrible, and the receptionists have zero customer service skills both in person and over the phone. I was also messed about numerous times with appointments, as was told 15 minutes before one of my appointments the dentist wasn't actually even in that day......my appointment was at 2pm so surely they could have told me first thing to save me working around it and also driving into town!! The lady on the phone didn't even say sorry or admit any mistake, just wanted to rebook it in. Be wary of what they recommend as well, as I was told I needed a simple filling which should have been in Band 2, but when I went to pay they said it was in fact band 3 which then cost me well over £300!! This was not explained to me in any way, and the receptionist just looked through me and handed me the card machine!! Get the feeling I was overcharged and they just wanted more money. The only positive I have is the dentist himself, as he was very personable and nice to talk to, but not enough to keep me at this clinic and safe to say I will be never going back. If you have the chance to look at other NHS dentists, assuming they are accepting new patients, please make sure you do so.
Negative experience: I have suffered extreme dental pain. I've been calling this practice for the last two days. They refuse to pick up the phone. The first day I was on the phone for two hours. On the second day I was told I was in "first" place after the first hour. The phone kept me holding for over 2 hours and 15 minutes before I gave up. See below:

I was waiting at the desk to even be acknowledged whilst the lady behind the desk was more interested in watching the slowest woman ever fill in a registration form. Why not ask her to complete whilst she got on with what she is supposed to be doing? It meant I was late for my appointment and the Dentist wasn't keen to carry out my treatment?!!

Negative experience: Waited over 45 minutes on the phone. In that time I went from place 4 to place 2. Unbelievable that it takes them 45 minutes to get through 2 calls. How can I evaluate the service if I can't even access it? This was in the afternoon when you would think their lines would be less busy and wasn't during lunch time when they are closed.

The reception phone is silenced so that you can’t hear it ring & myself and my partner watched as she ignored the phone and browsed on her mobile! This explains all the negative reviews about the phone never being answered.

Negative experience: On hold for 2h40. Was number 1 in the queue for over an hour, then was told to leave a message and hang up. I was calling because they screwed up my referral and sent me to a hospital that doesn't accept dental issues. They saw me last month, looked at me for 30 seconds and told me my wisdom tooth was not infected, despite constant pain. I then went to another dentist to get it removed, and was put on antibiotics for a major infection. This place is a joke do not go herr
