Fantastic experience: Went for wisdom tooth removal and was extremely nervous, Khans Dental was absolutely great! Quick, efficient and reassuring! Once the numbing injections settled in and the removal process started, I didn't even realise the tooth had be removed it happened that quickly!

Negative experience: If you are an NHS patient, you will be treated like scum, point blank period. Khan will reply and say I am not a patient. Thankfully, he was rude to me before I ever got the chance to be, and cancelled my first appointment with him because he refused to rearrange. Apparently, I am a time waster because I have a disability and it had the cheek to flare up which required me to rearrange. Having conditions that mean dental work would be invasive and painful on particular days is not time wasting. Refusing to accommodate somebodies disability however goes against the equality act. I am not the only person this has happened to, as reviews will show you. I am also not the only person to be dismissed because of my disability - as the reviews will also show you. So no, I am not a patient, but my opinion still matters. I am also the family member of a patient who has been absolutely traumatised by this disgraceful, unprofessional and frankly nasty dentist. He's clearly classist, as the only good reviews are people who can afford to pay for expensive services. I've been through the other reviews and can see that he claims he doesn't take on NHS patients - yes he does, when he chooses to, because he gets paid to do so. Allerton Dental (the old name) was NHS, Khans is mostly private with NHS patients here and there. My question is, why is he accusing people who are clearly NHS patients of his of being liars when they call out his disgusting behaviour? I'm certain if an NHS patient had a good experience he would not call them a liar. I have a feeling he keeps people on the books as "emergency" appointments so he can get away with rampantly treating them like rubbish. Still, complaints will be made all the same. What he told my family member was quickly disproven by a second opinion at another dentist. Not only did the second opinion prove there is plenty we can do for my family members teeth (Khan told them they would lose ALL of them), they informed us that his manner sounds unprofessional and uncaring. We have now started paying privately to see second opinion dentist. Yes, it is absolutely a financial stretch to do so, it leaves us in a more difficult position, but we would rather struggle, scrimp and save to pay a dentist who actually cares for their patients than to go to Khan for free. There's a total lack of respect and dignity in the way he treats people. If you go here, you will be treated badly if you're lower income, and he knows he cannot sell you on his services. The most an NHS patient can be charged is capped, and so you're not really worth the time to help. This is a very upsetting experience when it's difficult to get a dentist and you think you have found somebody compassionate enough to help. You are a nuisance to these people and you would be better served by going to the dental hospital in town, where you will not be judged on your income. I expect to be accused of leaving a bogus review, or some such nonsense but this is genuine - I have no vested interest in damaging a dentists business for the sake of it. If my family member and myself had a good experience, I would have shared that, gladly. It is so hard to find a dentist still willing to do NHS treatment (and I can understand why given the financial difficulties faced by those who do.) If he was a good dentist, we may have even paid if he couldn't take NHS patients. Please heed the reviews here and take yourself anywhere else - and if you can afford to pay and believe people on lower income do not deserve to be treated poorly, consider putting your money elsewhere. I don't believe there is any excuse to treat people so badly simply because you cannot make money from them.

Fantastic experience: Khan Dental took me on when my old dentist kicked me off of their books. A very efficient dentist, you can always book an appointment within a few days and are always seen on time. I’ve always been happy with how I’ve been treated.

Negative experience: I have recently moved to Liverpool due to my husband's transfer and was in a rush to find an NHS dentist. Khan Dental was one of the few that was accepting new patients, so I was thrilled. I quickly booked a first appointment which I was pleased with. The follow up appointment was on 15th July which unfortunately, I had to cancel on the same day due to my 3 week old baby being very unwell and fussy. When I called in to cancel with apology and although the receptionist wasn't very pleasant, she advised she will speak to the dentist. Today on 22nd of July, I tried booking another appointment due to a very painful toothache and with a very rude tone from the receptionist, I was refused. No apology no kind words, even when I explained that I only cancelled the appointment on the same day due to my son's health and that I have proof from a doctor. I understand the policy may be very strict due to a lack of NHS practices taking on new NHS patients, but surely, my circumstance could be excused! After such a rude tone on the phone, she, in the end, told me I could email the dentist and he may reconsider... Why should I do that? Please note. When I read all the reviews from NHS patients, he said that this practice is a private practice only. That is a big lie otherwise why would he accept me? His profile picture is the same dentist and so is the practice picture from the outside... Fair to say, please avoid at all cost

Negative experience: Avoid - We were NHS patients, cancelled a family appointment because our toddler had norovirus and he has just removed us entirely as patients when we have gone to rebook. Also incredibly unfriendly at the initial appointment and seemingly had an issue with opening the dentist up to NHS patients.

Fantastic experience: I undertook the Invisalign treatment with Dr. Khan and have been very happy with the experience and treatment. Dr. Khan explained every step of the process, the finance options available, and did not deem the treatment to be complete until we were both happy with the results. The scheduled monthly check ins with Dr. Khan made me feel confident my treatment was working and the staff working at the practice immediately knew who I was when I called or visited (making scheduling appointments around my working hours very easy). The practice is clean, welcoming, and puts you at ease with conveniently placed televisions if you need the distraction. I would encourage anybody interested in Invisalign or teeth whitening to consider Dr. Khan as I am very happy with my results and experience.

Fantastic experience: Visited for the first time today and was very impressed. I've had an issue with my jaw for a few years and have seen many different dentists over this period, Dr khan identified a couple of possible reasons (one which no other dentist has mentioned but makes perfect sense). He advised me better on how to use my mouth guard and advised me on how I'm brushing my teeth wrong, the damage which is being done (which other dentist have identified but never advised the cause or prevention) and how to do this correctly. There is also a TV on the ceiling to make the experience even more calming and pleasant. The best dentist I've been too in decades!!

Fantastic experience: I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Dr Khan yesterday. I went to Dr Khan's practice on Monday to see if I could become a client of their practice as an NHS patient and I needed a new filling put in as my old one had fallen out. I was asked to come in on Thursday for a check up and afterwards the doctor would decide if I would be a client of their practice. Dr Khan carried out the examination, fitted a new filling, gave me a cosmetic cleaning, advice on gum care and a prescription for a professional toothpaste. I have a terrible fear of dentists, but I felt at ease with Dr Khan! I really hope I will be one of the happy patients of this practice I wish only prosperity for Dr Khan's practice!

Negative experience: Called to register as NHS patient. Receptionist said they were taking on new patients but Mr Khan would decide whether or not to take me on after appointment. Seemed very strange to say this but didn't think about it too much. Appointment: Went straight in. No delay. Mr Khan was polite and asked me to wait. Check up went as normal. X ray. He asked if I had a problem. Gave me his advice. Told me what he thought was happening. He said nothing about other parts of my mouth. Gave me prescription. He said i may need a root canal but he didn't do them. Gave me NHS emergency number and another private dentist who does. It was over quick. I mean 5/10 minutes. In and out. All very quick and matter of fact. Did get the feeling he wanted you gone. He then said that it was only an emergency appointment. I was confused. I asked the receptionist if i would be a patient here. She said call back in a week .... I felt this was not correct procedure and i had been misled so i left a one star review. The following monday i received two missed calls from Mr Khan at work. I asked him to call back later. He called back immediately. He said i could not leave a review as i was not a patient and that Khan dental was private. I explained why i left the review to which he told me there were two practices: the private clinic - Khan Dental and NHS clinic - Allerton Dental. Obviously I was seen at Khan Dental. I had an NHS appointment at Khan Dental having been told i could be taken on as an NHS patient at Khan Dental. Strange he would say otherwise. There are other reviews here that explain what is going on regarding NHS patients. You guys make your minds up

Negative experience: Awful dental clinic. I was a brand new patient and called for check up and to get very small wire removed from behind my top front teeth. First i was advised my appt time was 12.15 and when I got to the dreadful dark an very outdated clinic I was sat waiting until 12.45. To which I then advised I no longer had time for the check up due to the long wait and only wanted the wire removing. The hygienist then proceeded to tell me my appt was 12.45 to which I replied this wasn't the info their sec had provided. Then Mr Khan decided to make up a fee and charge me £100 to remove the wire from 4 teeth only and still left a load of glue (which took him less than 2 minutes) Absolute daylight robbery!!! Unorganised and the most out dated dental clinic I have ever come across...DO NOT GO HERE avoid at all means!!!
