Fantastic experience: I have been seeing the dentist and hygienist at Mackworth for a couple of years ! Both are fabulous at what they do..the lady hygienist is very gentle ,professional and knowledgeable and the dentist is very lovely too.Hygienist price is £77 it’s such a bargain,overall my manicure and pedicure every 4 weeks costs more than that !!! This is HEALTH …I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for one in Derby.

Negative experience: This was sadly the worst dental appointment I have ever had. Priced at £77, I was given just under 10 minutes of hurried spraying, scraping and prodding. I expressed concern that there was too much water - it was spitting up onto my face and down my throat leaving me having to swallow repeatedly while my mouth was open and hands were working. I was told the suction wasn’t working well. No effort to correct this situation occurred. The plastic suction tube was jabbed hard repeatedly into my gums. The whole treatment was rushed and aggressive and left me feeling quite shocked. I tried to feed back that I feel it was rough to the hygienist but this was dismissed and I was told it needed doing. I am 48 and have seen many dentists in several countries. This was hands down the most rushed and most aggressive appointment I have had.

She was kind, calming, and incredibly efficient — fast, skilled, and so professional throughout. She made everything smooth and stress-free, and her friendly manner really stood out. A big thank you also to Dr. Munir for the excellent care and reassurance. I truly felt in safe hands with such a great team. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I am a very nervous patient and I have been putting off going to the dentist for such a long time, and I was treated by Afsha for a filling and clean, Afsha and the dental nurse were both so wonderful, kind and patient with me. I couldn’t be more greatful. All my fears have now subsided. Even the anaesthetic injection was painless because she was so gentle, extremely pleased and would especially recommend her to anyone with dental anxiety or phobia. Also worth a mention are both reception staff I have met on the 2 trips, they are both so lovely too!

Fantastic experience: Service and care given was as always good and friendly. Staff are always helpful. Appointment was on time. It must be noted that, reception staff should be mindful of poor weather conditions so customers who are slightly earlier than the 1.30 opening, can be let in out of the rain etc. I arrived in good time for my appointment today when it was raining, there was no shelter but staff who returned from their break were in the reception area whilst myself and two other customers, with the 1.30 appointment stood outside. Staff generally are helpful but the customer friendly approach will be appreciated.

Indeed every time I have visited, the staff are very pleasant and the dentists themselves are very thorough, giving you options when requiring treatment. Also on more than one occasion I have been offered dental treatment that day whilst undertaking a checkup meaning more convenience for myself and a quicker outcome. The best!

Now even when I have had a number of teeth removed, I go on my own, and I am not frightened anymore.
