Fantastic experience: The dental studio in my personal opinion is the most friendly, caring, professional and accommodating dentist you could find. Every member of staff is so friendly and inviting. From the front desk, where you are always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome, to the dentists who are extremely patient ( I’m a nightmare ). My biggest thanks go to Ian Paterson who has transformed my smile. I have a new found confidence. He was extremely patient, caring, professional and explained everything to me that was going to happen. I am 100% satisfied with my experience from start to finish and I would definitely recommend The dental studio and especially Ian if you need braces/invisalign to correct your smile. Thank you everyone for making my journey so easy.

Fantastic experience: Like most people I don’t like the Dentist. It’s a vulnerability thing, I guess, worrying about potential pain during a treatment so, when my dentist said I needed a Root Canal, I was horrified. How can 2 small words conjure up so much terror? I left the dentist worried and upset with that decision to make, only to have it made for me a few weeks later when the pain became unbearable. Anytime you say ‘root canal’ everyone pulls a face or winces and utters words of sympathy. No one ever says ‘I had one of those, it was great’ so I thought I would write this review about my experience and to be honest, it was absolutely fine. I was told it would be no worse than a filling and during the appointment I was told what was happening or going to happen at each stage. The first appointment is basically like having a filling but where the root is removed. This is then temporarily filled to allow the tooth to settle. The second appointment removes the temporary filling and replaces it with a permanent one once the tooth has been checked over to make sure all is ok. All of this is done with the same anesthetic you would have for a normal filling. The worst part was having to have your mouth open for such a long time – 45 to 60 mins but I was also told to raise my hand at any time should I need a rest during the treatment. So while I would not be rushing to have another root canal, anytime soon, I am no longer terrified by those 2 small words. I thought it was important to share with everyone that Root Canals are not the horror story everyone seems to think they are. I hope this review helps dispel some of the myths surrounding this procedure and helps anyone, like myself, facing this treatment. I would recommend this Dentist Practice to everyone. Suzi

Due to an accident my wife couldn't attend at the last minute and I needed an unexpected filling. In accordance with usual excellent service our problems were kindly accommodated without rush or fuss.

Fantastic experience: This was my second emergency visit due to awful pain. The first visit I explained I had a terrible phobia of needles and was worried about having anything done. I couldn't believe how nice all the staff were to me. They took the time to explain each step and used extra pain relief. I didn't feel any injections and although the extraction felt uncomfortable it was completely bearable and pain free. I was told that if I needed a break I should raise my left hand and they would stop. In the past I had been told the same by other dental practices and yet when I moved my hand they just carried on. Not in this case though. As soon as I moved my hand they stopped to allow me to breathe. This really increased my trust with the dentist. I can't recommend this practice enough. Every member of staff were very kind and caring. I'm very pleased I found this practice as I'm no longer worried about any future treatments that will inevitably occur with age.

The dental studio is completely accessible as it is all on a ground floor which is great for me as someone with mobility issues! Luke is my dentist and has been for some time now, I have always been very happy with his advice. They don't rush to give you fillings or crowns (which I know some people worry about with private dentists!), they much prefer to leave things the way they are if possible for as long as possible, and only intervene when absolutely necessary (to use an example, I have a tooth with damaged enamel, it might one day need a filling or possibly a crown. Luke advised it was best to leave it alone for as long as possible). I am also very pleased with the student hygienists I saw. They were polite, well spoken, accommodating, very kind. It was my first ever hygienist appointment, but there was no shame or judgement, just helpful advice on how better to care for my teeth and gums. As you can tell by the length of my review, I'm very happy with the dental studio, and will continue to be a patient there for as long as they'll have me! Thank you dental studio, I used to really hate going to the dentist, but thanks to you, it doesn't cause the same level of anxiety that it used to.

Positive experience: A bit frustrated today to be told it was fine to come in to pick up my retainer at lunch time when I checked - to then get there & find the place closed! When I phoned them (after 2pm) I was hard pushed to get any kind of apology either.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just had my last Skin Rejuvenation appointment with Pat at The Dental Studio in Colchester and cannot express enough how much the condition of my complexion has improved - it looks fresh, bright, and firmer. At my initial consultation with Pat he took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure making me feel at ease with my decision to go-ahead. I did experience some discomfort around the chin and top lip but the whole procedure is painless with numbing cream (Pat’s assistant Eliza is very generous with this). Throughout each appointment Pat and Eliza constantly checked on my comfort to see if I was okay. In my opinion it’s money well spent and I would 100% recommend Pat/The Dental Studio/Eliza to anyone who asks.

From the start where I had to book in for my first appointment it was a simple, soothing experience that I almost expected to wear off over a period of time. That didn’t happen (fortunately), the team at the other end of the phone are outstanding; kind, courteous, understanding and polite. Upon my first visit I met Luke, Luke wasn’t relatable to any other dentist I’d had previously as he came across in the same manner that the reception team did. He has time and gives a better understanding of what work they’re looking to carry out and is more than happy to respond to questions should you have them. They can offer you an affordable monthly payment plan (denplan) to ease the costs should you choose which I have taken advantage of this takes any worry about costs away and helps me to keep up with check ups or treatment. The Dental Studio gets 5 stars from me and I would strongly suggest you consider Stephen and his team if you are looking for a dentist.
