Fantastic experience: A great dental practice! All the staff are so friendly and professional, they're wonderful with my nervous children (and husband!) Would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Aaron is the best dentist I have had, he is very professional caring and reassuring. Aaron explains everything clearly, really listens and gives a straightforward opinion on the best treatment options. My trips to the dentist are always enjoyable and never something I dread, in fact I would even go as far to say I look forward to them! The whole team are lovely and always willing to help out. Fantastic experience: I'll be honest... I've never looked forward to a dentist appointment in my life. But here we are. The treatment was genuinely excellent: professional, thorough, and I left feeling like I had a brand new mouth. The whole team made me feel completely at ease, which as a certified dental coward is no small feat. I feel obligated to mention that nobody warned me the male dentist would be, shall we say, remarkably easy on the eyes. An unexpected perk that made the whole "sharp objects near my face" experience considerably more pleasant. I'd recommend them to everyone... except my wife. Outstanding care. Would give 6 stars if Google allowed it.

Fantastic experience: My family has been attending Elvet Dental Practice for over 40 years and between us have used all the services they have to offer. I completely recommend the 10/10 practice to everyone. For example, on Saturday I woke up with terrible toothache and rang the practice first thing Monday morning- I was seen immediately and my troublesome tooth was removed - result - and believe me it was a last option as the dentist has gone out of his way to save it for many years. If you’re worried about attending a dentist - there is no need as the staff at Elvet Dental Practice recognise this and are very professional, caring and gentle in their approach. I wish Aaron Kinghorn the best in his ambitions to develop the practice and expand the services. Simply fabulous!

Fantastic experience: I recently had 8 composite veneers completed by Aaron at Elvet Dental Practice, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, Aaron was incredibly attentive, professional, and a true perfectionist. He took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and made sure every detail was just right. The whole process was comfortable and reassuring, and the final result has completely exceeded my expectations — my smile has never looked better! Fantastic experience: Brilliant dental practice which I have been attending for years and would highly recommended! The staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly - having been a frequent attender I can honestly say I have never had a less than excellent service. Mr Kinghorn offers a huge range of services (including cosmetic dentistry) and is great at accommodating specific needs and concerns. Having had negative experiences prior to joining this practice at the dentist, I now find it enjoyable to go to the dentist!

Fantastic experience: So sad to report Mr Newton is retiring. He’s been my dentist for nearly 40 years and has offered nothing but the best service. I was handed over to Mr Kinghorn who has a lovely demeanour and gentle touch. Hopefully the NHS patients can be seen in the future, only time will tell

Negative experience: My wife and small child contacted surgery the day before appointment to be told that as our dentist had left the surgery we had to make alternative arrangements. No advice, help or even an apology by the receptionist. Bet she was great as the first innkeeper in her nativity. They still haven't contacted me either.

Fantastic experience: It is the best dental practise in Durham they make you feel at ease at all times..

Negative experience: Received a call in October advising that the practice could no longer offer me NHS dental services and I should look elsewhere for treatment. Nice! So far finding an alternative NHS provider proving to be a real challenge. I always thought dentistry was a profession. Clearly I have been proved wrong.

Negative experience: After several years with this practice I received a blunt phone call call to inform me that my appointment in December has been cancelled and I need to find another dentist. Whilst I understand the difficulties of recruiting a replacement NHS dentist, the manner in which I was informed was disappointing. No attempt to ask if I might consider becoming a private patient, no apology, no suggestion where I might try. Disappointing customer care but pleased to report that another dentist has been found

Fantastic experience: Excellent and professional, sorted out a dental issue I have dealt with my whole life at an extremely ethical price. Couldn’t be happier with the care provided.

Fantastic experience: After years of being terrified of the dentist and hence my teeth being a right mess, Terri at The Elvet sorted me out and I am no longer fearful but very grateful.

Fantastic experience: I have been with this dentist for the past three years and Terrie the dentist has provided a regular and consistant gold standard in caring for me. Her professionalism and dentistry would shame other practices. Unfortunately Terrie has just left and I have been bluntly advised by reception staff to look elsewhere, despite one other dentist remaining in the practice. Having contacted Health Watch they consider this action unjustified, especially when there has been no default on my behalf.

Negative experience: Cancelled family registration with one week before appointments for 2 children. Told can’t recruit replacement dentist. What kind of leadership is this? Shocking behaviour from a such an established practice.

Negative experience: Could not get an appointment as they are fully booked apparently. Was greeted on the phone by an extremely rude and unhelpful receptionist who just cut me off.

Positive experience: A little bit unsure witch Dentist it was,this one,in Old Elvet Rd,or closer to the Bridge. It was a little more busy in the street,for which I ended parking a little further away.

Fantastic experience: Elvet Dental Practice were AMAZING today. I think I rang every dentist in Durham, including 111, to try and get an emergency appointment with no joy. I just about lost the will to live when these guys got me a slot the same day and were brilliant. The friendliest, most welcoming practice I have been to and I will definitely be staying and recommending to anyone. Thank you SO much!!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been coming here regularly for our checks, and the service all the way from reception staff to our dentist Terri (and her nurse/assistant) has been very professional and friendly. Would recommend this practice without any hesitation.

Negative experience: My family and I came for a visit. It was a first visit for my son while my wife and I were mainly interested in knowing if we had any cavity. The dentist was a very nice lady and we really appreciated how nicely and professionally she was. Unfortunately the second part of the visit was horrendous. The main reason is that I preferred to do not do the dental cleaning for personal reasons (in fact I was unwell) and the lady who was assigned to do it was very judgmental and without asking she booked another appointment for me to do the cleaning. When we ended up to pay they charged me with the cleaning plus a filling that they assumed (again without asking) I would have done with them. Overall it was an annoying and depressing experience which I do not recommend anyone else to have.

Fantastic experience: Elvet Dental Practice provides NHS dental care for both children and adults. Emergency appointments available & currently registering new patients.
