Negative experience: I’ve been to this dentist twice since being admitted to it and I have never been to a worse dentist in my life. I explained on the document that I filled out before going that I am an extremely anxious person and that I have a big fear of needles and dentist the first time I went for a checkup I told him what was wrong and he was extremely rough with my mouth the second time was for a tooth extraction and I started having a panic attack the woman who was his assistant was very calming and understanding he however was not he continued to put the chair back despite knowing I was panicking and upset. He told me that I either have the tooth pulled or get sedated he didn’t give any other options like doing it at a slow pace nothing and he didn’t even bother to try and understand how I was feeling, this is by far the worst dentist ever no wonder they’re always accepting new people. Disgraceful.

Fantastic experience: Reception staff are always friendly. The waiting room is clean and bright. The dentist and nurse are always very polite and happy. The dentist always let you know what he’s doing. Very friendly. I’m frightened of the injections especially the one that goes in the roof of my mouth as to me it hurts. The dentist understands that. I’ve been going here for years now. The only down side is with my age I’m finding the stairs hard to climb up.But I will keep going.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a routine check-up and scaling a couple of weeks ago and everything went perfectly smoothly. All the staff, the receptionist, the dental nurse and Sameer, the dentist himself, were absolutely fantastic and make you feel incredibly welcome and comfortable.

Very friendly and professional practice been going here for over 20 years, always get in on time, Sameer is a brilliant dentist always gentle and talks things through clearly. Negative experience: Extremely unhelpful and rude. I appreciate that there are no NHS spaces but to not even get emergency appointment for extreme pain leaves you helpless. I suffer with depression an the rude rejection did not help at all. I rang 111 an they suggested this surgery. Waste of time an left in utter dispare as the receptionist just hung up on me. Most upsetting

Fantastic experience: I recently attended this dental surgery and had a very positive experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming and professional, helping to put me at ease. I was particularly impressed with Alex, the dental nurse, who was incredibly reassuring and calming throughout my appointment. Their gentle approach and clear communication made a real difference, especially as I was feeling quite anxious beforehand. Alex took the time to check in with me and ensure I was comfortable at every stage, which I really appreciated. The overall environment was clean, well-organised, and efficient. I felt I was in safe hands the entire time. I would definitely recommend this dental surgery to anyone, especially those who may feel nervous about visiting the dentist.

Fantastic experience: When I first came as a patient I was very anxious due to trauma from other practices. Dr Samir and the team have reversed that! I have had 2 root canal surgeries and neither of them were painful or traumatic. Excellent, best dentist team I have ever been registered with and I have previously had private care.

Negative experience: Went today for a check up. And refixing of crown. Said that the crown cannot be refixed. I'm not 100% sure about that as I've been temporarily using super glue for a while. It just needs the old cement removed so the post can be reinserted. I may be wrong. Paid 27pounds for the check up actually 30 the receptionist had no change. Examination was good and took 3 x-rays. No complaints. Then he said do I want a dental implant. I asked if that was on the NHS definitely not a bridge would involve removing existing crowns and also not on the NHS last option for 1 tooth on a palate 326+ and obviously the 27 I had already paid. Wow what do you want to do. I said that i will have to think about it. That's when he turned rude. Need a decision or i can cancel your treatment. I said what if I let him know at the end of the month. He just got ruder and ruder. Until i said don't you dare speak to me like that. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Due to language issues. But after reading these reviews. It's all about the money. My advice would be to give this dentist a miss. You can get emergency dental care at the rvi hospital in Newcastle.

Negative experience: Absolute horrible dentist, awful attitude from both the dentist and the receptionist. I’ve been to other mydentist branches so I thought it would be the same quality of service but I felt like I was purely just a number to them. Don’t go to this dentist.

Negative experience: Dentist is rude and unprofessional. I went in with aligners and as he discovered that I had went elsewhere for private treatment the tone completely shifted. All of a sudden I had a cavity and needed a filling in one of my teeth which would cost £174. He didn’t even look at the rest of my teeth I was in the chair 30 seconds before he lifted me up and started talking about money. I challenged this as I had just been to my private dentist a week prior for my aligner fitting and she said my teeth were in perfect condition. He was determined i had tooth decay and I needed to pay for it there and then- before the appointment. I rang my private dentist straight away and she seen me in person 20 minutes later to confirm there is no cavity. She even did a free scan of my tooth to put my mind at ease. To me it seems he was bitter I went for private treatment elsewhere and wanted to see what money he could scaremonger from me. Luckily i got the deposit back that i felt forced to pay for on the spot as a young lass being pressured. It’s worth the extra money to just go private as at least they talk to you with some respect, honesty and dignity. If not go to any other NHS dentist but this one- he is rude and will bleed you dry for treatments you don’t even need.

Negative experience: Went in for a tiny surface filling and the tooth has never felt right since. Ongoing niggling pain for months. When I switched to a new dentist, they immediately spotted on the X-ray that the tooth had been drilled more than expected for such a small cavity, and that there was a gap around the filling which could explain the constant discomfort. Because of how much tooth was taken away the first time, simply re-doing the filling isn’t even an option now. It will need a temporary repair and may eventually need a crown. For what should have been a very simple job, I’m now looking at long-term maintenance and potentially a £1,000 crown down the line. Really disappointed with the quality of work here. Won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: Another visit to the dentist today for my 6mth check up . Dentist always has a smile to greet you which makes me feel at ease and the rest of the staff are so friendly too . Never have long to wait either which is a bonus as I get very anxious in waiting rooms . “My Dentist” always get in touch when I’m due a check up so I never miss an appointment and if I do need treatment they try and fit me in ASAP . Fantastic experience: I have seen this dentist for over a couple of years now and I must say my confidence as a patient has grown by leaps and bounds. I was a very nervous patient but now I am no longer afraid to see my dentist. Due to my fear of dentists, my teeth were in a state of neglect but I am really grateful to this dentist and his team for all that they have done for me. I have had a lot of dental work done here and every time the dentist has patiently explained everything and was very gentle with his work. The nurses who have been there have all been very kind and understanding. I hear of people not finding a dentist or not getting a dental appointment despite having a dentist but I think I have been very lucky to have found this dentist and have never faced any problems in getting an appointment in a reasonable time frame.

Negative experience: I booked the 2nd part of my root canal at this dentist after getting an emergency root canal. However I was in extreme pain so i therefore booked an emergency appointment. I attended the emergency appointment and he done nothing apart from tell me I was basically lying and that I didnt have an appointment for my root canal. So he therefore told me that if i wanted to finish my root canal it would be very painful, lots of appointments and lots of injections he said this after I told him I was nervous of dentists. Which the 111 dentist told me it’s nothing like this, which it isnt! DONT GO HERE!

Negative experience: If I could i would give 0 starts or less. Disgraceful practice. Went in for a filling 10 years ago and it has been done yeah in a hurry just to get me out the door. After 1 month of being in pain in one of my teeth i phoned in to ask for a check because i have been in pain every day. They said its normal and i shouldn't be worried. Yeah pain went awa after 3 months but not even a year after the procedure my tooth ( the one i have complained about ) has cracked leaving my roots and pulp exposed and prone to infections. Surely this wouldn't have happened if they not only listened to me but also if the dentist has actually done the job properly. This has been affecting for the past few years because now i have a fear of the dentists after this awful experience. Don't give me no bull that you don't have my records and to call your manager whatever. Now i will have to get my tooth removed or get RTC which will cost a lot of money and cause a lot of stress. AVOID AT ANY COST !!!!! THEY WILL LEAVE YOU IN PAIN AND TRAUMATISED !! <3 I know i should have had it looked at earlier but i cant believe how traumatised this experience has left me Regarding their response.... Well if you read through properly what I wrote in the review you would have noticed that I did in fact get in touch as soon as I noticed something's wrong. But I guess I was just being dramatic..... I really hope that people read these reviews and stay clear from this place.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful dentist. My parents weren’t able to find a dentist for years due to money problems, and that led most of my siblings to having dental problems. When my little brother said he barely brushed his teeth the dental assistant sighed and shook her head at my mum, and then slammed the door in her face! Absolutely awful judgement from both the receptionist and the entire dental team. I have an extreme needle fear and they treated me very poorly. Didn’t talk me through any procedures, just simply said that either I have the needle or I be put to sleep! Tried to force me down into the chair when I started going into a panic attack from it and rolled his eyes, and then refused to treat me because I was ‘too difficult’ and told me to get out! He rushes through all of his patients and just wants to get everyone through as quick as possible to make as much money as possible. They couldn’t care less about anyone’s needs, fears, or care. Avoid this dentists at all costs!

Negative experience: Poor service! Dentist refused to give me a referral for ortodont for my son , he said i need to attend my appointments regularly for that and they cancelled my appointments or they never have one . Poor customer service! And when i get frustrated he call me aggressive- overreacting and he don’t obviously make difference between frustration and aggression!!!

Fantastic experience: This place has done wonders for my smile I had a lot of crowded teeth and had them removed and a denture fitted giving me my confidence back can't thank the dentist enough who Is verry caring and attentive when doing treatments the assistants have always been really friendly and the receptionist is lovly together the team always delivers what they promise

Negative experience: Had no problems up until new denture was fitted Friday let the dentist know it was hurting in various places I was told to try it I was in agony all weekend got straight in after phoning Monday morning for to be told to just go back to wearing old one as there is nothing he can do adjustment wise clearly got paid and not interested now back to square 1 of finding a dentist wouldn’t advise visiting this dentist just wants you out before you’ve sat down

Negative experience: Absolutely disgraceful. I am ill and can’t make my appointment today then get told to ring back tomorrow to see if they will let me have another appointment. Forget it crappy dentists anyway palette dont fit left teeth in so he could get more money taking them out later prolonging my pain and discomfort. Even after that I was willing to still use this dentists. I didn't miss an appointment I cancelled them so I’m not ringing tomorrow told her to remove me from their list I’ll go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Great Dentist. But was taken off the books because I questioned the use of my personal details. When I asked for them to be removed because I wasnt happy the way they were used. And was advised if they did that I would removed from the practise. So they took me off the books. Edit 3/9/2024 You will have records of my history. Ask the lady on reception she was the who took me off the books because i wasnt happy with the you used my personal data without permission. I have me a official complained to the My dentist company. So just waiting for a reply

Negative experience: Went there to have a small cavity sorted out and a scale and polish after a checkup. Paid as a private patient. Scale and polish - he barely touched my teeth. Spent about 90 seconds scraping around a couple of teeth. The little cavity…he “filled”. Went on holiday a couple days later and had niggling pain in the filled tooth. Assumed it was just settling in after the filling. Got worse as the holiday progressed. Went to see a proper dentist in Germany (where I was on holiday) who said it was a total botch job and fixed the problem for me. This dentist is a disgrace.

Negative experience: This dentist is always in too much of a hurry. There is always the feeling you are wanted out the door as quick as possible regardless of how much the treatment may hurt. His condescending attitude is the worst part. Happy to laugh at the information offered to him and seems to think he knows how your mouth feels more than you would. Couldn't recommend this dentist for attitude alone. I was told there was no problem with a tooth only for a chunk of it to break away days later. I'm no dentist myself so I can't really comment on his work as far as that goes but his rush to get you out the door and superiority complex do him no favours as far as I can see. Update: As you can see from the reply below from the owner I was asked to provide further information about my experience, which I did. This appears to maybe be a front though as 6 days later from providing requested further information there has been no reply. Make of that what you will after 6 days but to me it seems as if their request for further information might be for show only, we will see if I get a reply after this.

Negative experience: Had to cancel 2 appointments, 1 for having covid. 2nd I had to cancel today for Friday 6/12/23 because I've got plurisy. Receptionist very abrupt and put phone down on me. I'm really sorry I'm ill and had to cancel. I appreciate its inconvenient but I didn't ask to be poorly x Recent update on this post 8/12/23 got took into hospital on Thursday with plurisy x

Negative experience: Probably the worst dentist I've seen.... i've been very hesitant to write this review as I don t like to be negative but i've been to this dentist 5 times in the course of a year. 4 out of 5 I've been treated like garbage, one time he was actually nice to me and I left a good review. This dentist had no empathy, no care for the patients, I was told I have gum disease when i ask what it was and if it's serios he just tut me and said, yes it's serious. Sorry but not everyone went to dentist school and has knowledge in the area. I've never been to a place and felt so humiliated... I would rather get a loan and go to a private dentist than go there again. He works quite efficient, I have no complaints in that regard is just he treated me badly multiple times, rude, blunt, ironic, far superior, the nurse was really nice everytime I really think he would benefit from a patient empathy course... would not recommend until the dentist attitude improves but don't think it will be very soon.

Negative experience: Avoid this rude dentist. My bad health has affected my teeth. I asked about implants or what he would recommend for my front teeth, im very conscious about them. When you are in the waiting room it's advertising implants on the t.v screen and tells you to ask about them. I asked and got chastised and he wouldn't recommend what the next step would be, he wanted me to have no front teeth, the dental assistant was embarrassed she just put her head down. He even said he wouldn't have let his teeth get that bad. I'm always polite to medical staff and to not be able to ask questions is shameful. I can tell why they put him in a Stanley side street, all he can do is drill and fill. Everyone I talk to has has a bad experience with this dentist. Rude,arrogant bad mannered little man. He gets away with it because dentists are hard to get to, but you be better off getting your tooth punched out around the corner in The Top House pub.

Fantastic experience: From the perspective of someone who is scared of dentists; Fabulous. Welcoming and professional. All members of team I met , especially singing dental nurse, (Apologies I can't remember your name) who kept me distracted throughout my treatment. The dentist Sameer who explained every step of the process and warned me if anything was going to potentially be uncomfortable (gentlest dental injections yet). Not forgetting the receptionist wo was just lovely, giving my husband post treatment instructions, not that this was an issue as I was giving full written information for post extraction care. Fantastic experience: Very polite and totally at ease.

Negative experience: My partner hadn't been to a dentist in 10 years and was extremely nervous about this appointment. He is in a lot of pain and has major concerns about his teeth. He travelled miles to get to this appointment as there are no NHS dentists closer. He was in the appointment for less than 10 minutes. The dentist was rude, lacked people skills and completely dismissed any concerns my partner raised. We believe he needs major dental work, all of this now impossible because he's been brushed off. They charge you on the way in, so it's clear that they only care about taking your money and don't care about the treatment they provide. I have no idea what we will do now, because he was the only NHS dentist within the North of England and we can't afford to go private. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Negative experience: Had an appointment on Tuesday and unfortunately couldn’t go due to be ill and not being able to get out of bed!! So my boyfriend rang up to cancel nobody answered so he left a voicemail with his name and number they said they would call him back but didn’t !!! And sent a letter saying the won’t see me anymore yet have left unfinished work on my teeth!!! Then they gave me fillings on 2 of my teeth one was to deep and few months later I was having a lot off pain with it , so went in he told me it was my fillings and nothing to worry about went and go a 2nd opinion as I rang 111 3/5 time the same day with the amount of pain I was in! Got an emergency appointment and I had an infection in my filling and they had to start root canal as he told me it was just my ‘filling’ turns out it wasn’t !!!

Negative experience: Travelled 100 miles to get a NHS dentist, arrived everyone was very nice, first check up...I was asked did I need a crown doing, no thank you, was my reply. The d3ntist then drilled a hole in one of my good tooth say he was removing plaque....absolute butcher. It will be sensitive for a few days, 3 month later still have the hole and refuse to go back!

Negative experience: The rudest man ever! I had the unpleasant experience of been seen by this dentist today. He was rude, abrupt and had absolutely no care or people skills whatsoever. I had an appointment for my 9 month old to see him as her first ever dentist appointment but that will be cancelled as I’m sure he would scare her away for life!

Negative experience: Rudest dentist I’ve ever come across. Has no time or sympathy for patients who are already nervous. He stopped mid treatment and told me he can’t continue to do it because I was shaking and shouted at me saying no where does local anaesthetic so I’ll have to put up with it. Expressed I was in severe pain and said he can’t see anything wrong so he can’t do anything about it. Finally had enough and got a referral from GP as he refused to. Now still having dental treatment because of his poor care that could have been resolved if he had actually investigated and listened. Nobody goes to the dentist for a fun day out.

Negative experience: Basically the receptionist slagging me off and saying, “last chance” because I haven’t visited regularly enough. Disgusting woman. Also, my last experience here wasn’t very good. I’d recommend you find another dentist

Negative experience: I have been in this place last time 7 years ago. I asked today for appointment and I have been informed, that because my last visit was years ago, appointment can be made not earlier than in 10 WEEKS! If they treating every patient they have like myself, I would say them- so sorry but run away from this place! Horrible experience.. Shame on you my(ex)dentist..

Fantastic experience: My first visit & I'm very pleased with this practice The Dentist was very kind and caring and explained everything before he examined and cleaned my teeth for me. Nurse & receptionist also very friendly.

Negative experience: Absolute joke had an abcess in my lower jaw and was in hospital getting it removed and missed an appointment and csn no longer use the surgery
