Fantastic experience: (Review from Jean Moore) Having been with Becon a number of years, I have to say ,from someone who was frightened of the Dentist, I look forward to going and seeing everyone from the receptionist ,to David my dentist And Nicky my hygienist. I have to thank them after going to a dentist who felt i didn’t need to see a hygienist,to find out that was completely wrong. I have now got to have a denture because of that. I feel that every one cares about you as a person and to be treated as a friend is lovely.

Fantastic experience: Being incredibly nervous, I was filled with apprehension about my first visit with Karen. I needn’t have worried, she is so kind and her approach filled me with confidence that I was in good hands with an experienced dentist.

Fantastic experience: The Dental Hygienist who attended to me was excellent. My usual dentist is, as ever, also excellent. What I’m less happy about is the increase in price, especially of the hygienist service which has increased some 25-30% over 2024 price; if my calculations serve me correctly. If this is the case, and I believe it to be so, this is so extreme as to be unfair practice on the customer. I’d appreciate some response.

Fantastic experience: Good advice, solid reassurance and sound technical and clinical understanding and when needed, faultless technical skills. Good conversation too! Always a delight going to see Karen for my 6 monthly dose of positivity and the annual encounter with hygienist Nikki is a good experience too.

Fantastic experience: First time at this dentist and I was so impressed with the check up. I have never had such a detailed and thorough oral examination in all the years I have been visiting dentists. I feel nothing would be overlooked. Also, it was a refreshing change not to be given the hard sell on cosmetic dentistry ( which is available at Beacon should you want it). I came away feeling confident with my smile instead of feeling my teeth needed a makeover. Good advice was offered by a highly experienced dentist, practice is well presented, staff friendly, easy parking and would definitely be back.10/10

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here for around 15 years having being originally referred as I suffer from gum problems. My experiences have been of total professionalism, friendly, efficient and definite 5 star experience. I would whole heartedly recommend this practice

Positive experience: I have just had my routine six monthly check up and hygienist visits. Karen, my Dentist is absolutely wonderful, showing her usual lovely kindness, care and understanding. The reception team are always friendly, welcoming, helpful, and efficient. The hygienist, who is new, explained everything efficiently, and usefully demonstrated how to use an electric toothbrush. She also explained and demonstrated the use of TP brushes, but overall in comparison, she was not as gentle as my previous hygienist Nikki, who was fabulously gentle and kind (or the replacement chap that I also had one time - apologies as I can't remember his name, who was also very gentle), so I found that roughness different and difficult to deal with or discuss, hence one star down from my usual 5 stars, and why it took me a little while longer to write a new review. To be fair, I do always find any hygienist visit more stressful than the actual check up, and I understand fully that some force is necessary to remove any build up or tartar etc, so I probably do just have to adjust to someone new, as we are all different. My teeth were lovely and clean, which I do appreciate, and she did pause each time that I needed her to which I really appreciate as I get really stressed and nervous.

Fantastic experience: I am very impressed by the expertise of Jack. I am also impressed by the after care I have received following a tooth extraction. Two or maybe three appointments to check the condition of the extraction site - I have never received that from previous dentists.

Fantastic experience: I really do not like going to the dentists, I never have since I was a child. I stated this when I first attended Beacon Dental Care and they were very understanding and put things in place to ensure that I could stop anything I wasn't happy with while they are working on my teath/mouth. I have been attending here on a dentist plan for over 10 years now and have always received good service every 6 months and a fabulous cup of coffee while in the waiting room. Karen, my dentist found a growth in my mouth in the early stages and immediately referred me to the NHS to have it assessed. They have now opperated to remove it and analyse it as a biopsy. I am waiting for the results. This is a very good practice with superb hygienists and staff. They are always happy to work with you on the appointments and have always given me excellent service for many years. We have a new practice manager that I only met today while attending the hygienist to make my teath look good. She was actually assisting which I have to say is a refreshing change to see a manager who is hands on and leads by example. Well done to you all for making me feel calm in a very clean happy environment, great job. I would highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: A very good Dental Practice, friendly, efficient and very good at their jobs.

Negative experience: After a lifetime of experience of good dental treatment on moving to the area I was disappointed when after breaking a tooth agreed,after much discussion, to having it crowned which only lasted a few months as it kept falling out. I found later that a difference method would have worked. It also left me with a gap which needed completing to prevent extra load on remaining teeth, which took eighteen months to complete and at considerable expense on top of that charged for the initial crown.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first visit to Beacon and was very impressed by the care and service given. David took a lot of time to talk through my current situation, and future options. I would certainly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: The thought of having implants had always left me cold, and conjured up images of money disappearing down a drain! However, my experience of having a gap of three teeth replaced with implants by Beacon DentalCare proved just how wrong my fears were. In July I was given an assessment and quote, and a month later I was having a detailed 'scan in a van' done in a local supermarket car park! Two weeks later the implants were in place. There was only one stipulation I had. 'Keep away from my sinuses' and this was achieved by slightly angling one of the implants. The implanted teeth were fitted in mid-October. The whole process went like clockwork, and at every step I was talked through the procedure, and my questions answered, with professional competence. Now this 80 year old can enjoy eating again, and give people at least half a smile, as I will now have to save up and get the other side 'fixed.' Thank you Beacon DentalCare for the excellent and faultless service you provide, it has all been money well spent.

Fantastic experience: I had a repair to a filing. The appointment was made at short notice due to the fact that I was travelling abroad in the near future. Jack and his assistant undertook the work in a very courteous and informative way and kept me fully appraised throughout the whole process. I wouldn’t quite say it was a pleasure but it was probably as good as it could be a certainly exceeded my expectation. A big thank you.

Positive experience: Over the last year or so, both dentist and hygienist are not prompt. The locum hygienists in Nikki's absence have been a waste of time. Also, the cost is becoming too much and I will soon have to leave.

They have a fresh approach and they work hard at making their patients feel comfortable and heard. The advice given is right for the patient and also for the family circumstances. We have been given some practical advice around my son's teeth in a way that ensures we know the issues and are aware of all the options. There is never any pressure and certainly no judgement. If you are at all nervous of the dentist, or if you have had bad experiences with other dentists, this is the place for you.

After putting off going to a dentist for 12 years...and then only for an emergency....and being extremely fearful and nervous, I researched and researched before finally choosing Karen Sutton at Beacon DentalCare. She is exactly the dentist I need, so very friendly, kind, and understanding. She put me at ease with the first visit by explaining everything each step of the way. I have had fillings, extractions, and recently had a partial fitted...everything much better than I had hoped for! She really listens to you and gives excellent advice. And I love her sense of humour...makes me look forward to seeing her! Yesterday I had my hygienist visit with Laura. She was also very friendly, caring, kind, and understanding. She explained everything as she was doing it and reassured me that I could take a pause at any point. I felt at ease immediately, despite some initial nervousness. I have never had such a totally wonderful experience at a dental practice. I am getting over my fears thanks to their kindness and understanding easing me through my visits. Positive experience: The tratment is always good but when I had an emergancy tooothache and called the hotline I had no reply. Only after two days when I had sent a contact me thing in did I get a resopose,and an appointment. I am insured as well!!

Fantastic experience: 2 days ago I went with a great deal of anxiety to have an old, large filling , right at the back of my mouth, replaced. I couldn't have asked for better treatment. Karen understood my anxiety and was so kind and considerate, talking to me through the procedure. I am hugely grateful to find this dentist and this practice!

Fantastic experience: Karen and the Beacon team have genuinely changed my life. You won't find a more caring, empathetic, patient and professional team! When they say no fear or judgement here, they genuinely mean it. They take the time to understand the whole person. I was so terrified of judgement that it has stopped me from even stepping foot in a dental surgery for many, many years and as a result my teeth were in a horrific state which was impacting many areas of my life, denting my self confidence and making me unwell. It was literally consuming my life. Just four months on from that first appointment (where I was shaking with fear) and I can now smile again! I no longer lose sleep at the thought of going! Worried about picking up the phone? Don't be. If I can do it, so can you. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I was not looking forward to my root canal filling. The last time I had one was 25 years ago in Hertfordshire and my memories of that were not good. But David isolated the tooth with something I believe is called a "dam" and this meant no horrid water spray in my mouth, nobody hovering over with suction , and with effective anaesthesia and efficient working, the whole thing was quick and painless. i was so impressed and very grateful, ready for my next... oh, maybe not! But I wouldn't be afraid if I had to have another root canal filling and I would recommend Beacon if I knew anyone who needed this procedure.
