Negative experience: There is no way anyone should be waiting 40 mins outside the room to be seen. This was a longer wait than NHS GP. I was even early to make sure i didnt delay anyone else. For a £250 10 min appointment, they can surely do better. Also no apology or explanation for this delay. After, a second visit, I received a scan, and then was forced to pay £60 simply to discuss the results (as they refused to send the results to my GP until I had this call with them - there is no medically important rationale for this at all).

Positive experience: Visited earlier in the week for a pediatric appointment. Firstly, the hospital is located in what can only be described as a business park, so you drive past quite a few hangars/warehouses on the way, however the plus side is there is plenty of parking available once you reach your destination. Inside the facilities are clean and bright, however not very thoroughly thought of for parents. I say this because it turns out the only baby change is on the first floor (not on the ground floor) and to get to the baby change station you have to navigate three fire doors (two on the ground floor and one on the first floor) none of which are automatic! As my wife was entering the first floor, the receptionist of the day (Dee) just sat behind her desk and did no offer to help my wife out (by holding the said non-automatic fire door open). So if you are a parent , visiting on your own with your child, navigating this hospital with a pram/pushchair - good luck! Second reason why I say it's not particularly oriented at parents (despite offering pediatric appointments) is because there is no room provided for feeding/breastfeeding a child. My wife asked the receptionist (yes, the same lady who would not offer to keep the door open for her) where she could breastfeed our child and was told quite curtly there is nowhere special and she would have to do it in the waiting room. Photos of how much of an open plan the waiting area is - the space with the tissue box - are attached. This lack of private space seemed very unfortunate, because if places like London Zoo can have a dedicated, private spaces for feeding, why is a private hospital unable to match this? Without being blunt myself we pay a lot more for attending here than we do at London Zoo. Also, I want to add that we have been to other private hospitals in England and they do provide private space for baby/child feeding - basically whichever consultation room is unoccupied at that time. I hardly believe all rooms were occupied at OSD Healthcare when my wife asked. Going back to the members of staff at the hospital - my wife was particularly happy with how welcoming and friendly the two ladies at reception on the ground floor were (Marie and Carmen). They definitely made the visit more genial. However, my wife felt very disappointed in the cold manner in which the receptionist on the first floor (Dee) spoke to her and the way it felt my wife was being belittled for needing to breastfeed. All in all, we will return to this hospital, because the consultant we see only works here, but I have no choice but to deduct two stars from the rating due to the negative attitude of some members of staff and due to the layout of the building itself.

Fantastic experience: Attended dentist there today. As a very nervous patient turning up to have a tooth out, everyone put me at ease and supported me throughout the whole process. Negative experience: I was referred here by the NHS for an MRI and they did not send the results to the NHS for 13 days. I had to call them multiple times to get this result. However it was clean and the people were boring but I'm in a lot of pain for longer than necessary because of OSD Healthcare so I can't in good conscience give them a good review.

Fantastic experience: I had an MRI scan yesterday being my first time and I was really nervous.i was called in and there was this guy from the Philippines that made me feel at ease. He was soft spoken and with a smile on his face and that really made me feel calm. I had the ear plugs on and he asked what I would like to listen to and I said afrobeat and he said what artist and I replied DAVIDO and I got good music guysssssss

Negative experience: MRI scan done today to my son on behalf of NHS. Incorrect procedure followed when the cannula was removed prematurely after the scan. He experienced an allergic reaction from a certain meds as a result. Not a particularly great experience for patient and anxiety provoking.

Fantastic experience: Stayed at a hotel recently and had the absolute pleasure of experiencing OSD Healthcare staff in action. Their unwavering commitment to ‘safety’ and ‘well-being’ was on full display when they managed to set off the fire alarms in the dead of night. Nothing says ‘we care’ quite like dragging half-asleep guests out of bed with the sound of alarms ringing in our ears. Perhaps it was part of a hands-on wellness program—keeping us on our toes, boosting our heart rates, and ensuring we’re always alert. Or maybe it was just an overzealous demonstration of their energy and enthusiasm. Whatever it was, the effort was truly unforgettable. I’d give their passion a standing ovation if I hadn’t already been forced to get out of bed. I’m so impressed by their commitment to making an impression that I’ve decided to leave a glowing 5-star review on their page. After all, they’ve shown they can take their values of ‘disruption’ and ‘chaos’ far beyond the confines of healthcare. Negative experience: Second time here in a few days, both times waiting time of more than 30 minutes (45 today). Xray for my son today, they make a mistake leaving a chair in the way and he has to take double the radiations and redo the whole thing. The lady just goes: "sorry, yes, he'll have to retake it"... Incredibly frustrating

Negative experience: I had to pay £150 for a consultation where I was not given any treatment but just sent to A&E and join the normal Queue as everyone else in there ( and then I questioned what was the point of paying for a private GP at OSD Healthcare). Of course I was told that someone from the AE is informed and they will be waiting for me in there it took me just 8hrs for my turn in the queue. Anyway I am not giving a review about public HC system here, I am just saying that I had to pay a reasonable amount of money to a private GP that only sent me to go and join the AE queue. What do you think?

Fantastic experience: I came to OSD health care Hemel today for a US Guided knee injection and saw Dr Ajay Sahu consultant msk Radiologist and Lucy Hammerton HCA and I have to say they were absolutely fantastic! I was greeted with such warmth smiles and kindness such a warm welcome i was made comfortable for the procedure and he spoke calmly and answered all questions I asked as well as explaining throughout the procedure a,very quick appt was all done and was on my way home in no time. All staff I meet today were fantastic 10/10.

Negative experience: I paid privately for a lipoma removal as I wanted rid of the unsightly lump on my waistline. I was kept very comfortable during the procedure and had no complaints at the time. I was told to wait a year for the site to settle, after which I was disappointed to accept that there was still an unsightly lump protruding at least half as far out as the initial lipoma. Upon contacting the doctor again I was upset to be quoted much the same price as the original surgery for a second lipoma removal. I attempted to go elsewhere for a much lower price, but the doctor there said the protrusion was a "dog ear" (a protruding deformity at the end of an incision typically resulting from poor planning and execution) rather than a lipoma that instead required scar correction surgery, which they don't do. I returned to OSD with this information and they offered to revise the scar for £650, which I don't have. OSD did a lot right; I felt no pain during the procedure and everyone I met was lovely. The wait time was reasonable and admin were well-organised. My GP, myself, and likely my OSD doctor were all satisfied that the lump was a benign lipoma from examination alone, but OSD did the histology to confirm nothing else was going on and I'm sure this was well executed. However, lipomas are harmless and this was effectively a cosmetic procedure. I paid the best part of a grand to have an unsightly lump removed from my waistline, yet I still have one. The job is incomplete as far as I'm concerned. Since I can't afford the revision surgery, I can only hope to discourage anyone else throwing many hundreds of pounds away on this particular procedure at OSD as I did. EDIT October 2024: If anyone's curious, I sent further detail to OSD Healthcare following their response below, inviting me to contact them so they could "look into this further". My email was sent over 2 years ago now and went completely ignored.

Fantastic experience: Booked a private CT scan for abdomen and pelvis........... didn't want to wait months on the NHS and got it booked for the next week. Scan ran on time with a nice radiologist. Was surprised how quick it all was..... thought I'd get more time for my £790!! A very comprehensive report was sent to my GP the following day which was quite impressive. The hospital was lovely and modern. The toilets were spotless.............. always a good sign!! Anyway, the scan found nothing serious that was going to bump me off so I went ahead and renewed my football season ticket!!

Negative experience: Consultation with Professor Hasan Tahir this evening with my step daughter. Bedside manner dreadful. Not impressed by the lateness or professionalism of the consultant, followed by what felt like a rush to get us out of the room within 20 minutes. Especially frustrating as asked to change original appointment preferences to the earliest time slot to suit him. Not at all impressed, actually I would go as far to say darn right rude. Certainly if I treated my clients this way I would not expect to retain them.

Fantastic experience: Visited here 2nd August 2024 for a CT Virtual Colonoscopy. I was feeling nervous,but the C T staff really looked after me,and reassured me. The booking in, was easy,plenty of parking and the building itself, spotless and air-conditioned. Two disabled bays immediately infront of the main entrance to the building.Very impressive. Fantastic experience: At the end of July 2023 I had a total hip replacement. I was lucky that my partner has BUPA so went privately to have this done in London with a great Dr called Pramod Achan at One Welbeck. I would recommend Mr Achan to anyone who is having to have their total hip replacement at a lot younger age than most poeple. I was 43 when I had mine and needed a good physio to look after my rehab afterwards. Daniel Apostol at OSD Hemel Hempstead had previously had a similar patient to my situation and was a great source of advice, encouragement and guidance. He helped me to build the muscle mass and confidence to return to cycling, weight training and even running. If anyone needs a physio who has treated patients who have had a Total Hip Replacement at a younger age Daniel is your guy. Thanks again for all your help Daniel, I couldn't have done it without you.

Positive experience: The first receptionist was starting her employment that day and the second receptionist was wearing the wrong spectacles, then I found there was a 7 week wait for the earliest available appointment, so I decided not to bother and saved my money. Fate can be a good decision-maker.

Positive experience: Visited 25/10 for a CT angiogram. Extremely variable skill and care levels among staff here. One staffer incorrectly inserted a cannula and proceeded to inject fluids despite the patient's protests. Once mistake realised, no acknowledgement of pain or apology. Very large and painful bruise persists (updated!) 10 days later. Added a picture but Google didn't like it, so removed. I'm sure the NHS paid a lot for this referral, expected better. Update 03/11 - contacted OSD as requested in the response, told my request was being referred to patient feedback, then nothing after 5 working days. Update 07/11 - contact received today from the head of imaging who listened to our concerns and offered apologies.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in this clinic and would never recommend it to my friends and acquaintances, because they only care about taking money and not small amounts of money for diagnostics, and then they don’t need you, they just forget that there should be a report and diagnosed! Their doctors are in no hurry to send a report even after I called three weeks after I did an ultrasound of the thyroid gland and the doctor said that he would send a report on Monday, but alas, it’s already Thursday and there’s still no report, although I did an ultrasound on July 10 and already I haven’t received an answer for almost a month! Why then go to these private clinics and pay money if no one is responsible!!!! Very disappointed with the service, this is not a serious attitude towards customers at all!

Fantastic experience: Mmmm took my brother and sister in-law to this facility yesterday for a CT scan. The receptionists were professional and lovely. What I could not escape was the seductive aroma of coffee that assaults your senses positively as soon as you enter. I am delighted to say, I had the Mocha. No apologies for gulping down 2 cups, before taking 1 cup to go. The smell, the taste, the smoothness, the richness, of the Mocha can only confirm the quality of service that they offer. Negative experience: AVOID AT ALL COSTS - this is the second time to OSD has taken my money only to force a follow up appointment to acquire a further 50 pounds. My son has been left poorly treated and with no course of action to address his initial health concern. We have been treated as customers not patients and I strongly recommend you seek alternative care.

Fantastic experience: I came here for an NHS referred CT scan and was immediately struck by how modern, sleek, clean and calm the environment was. The nurse who looked after me, Amy, was very friendly and helpful and put me at ease. The scan seemed to go smoothly and I was given a cup of tea afterwards while I waited.

Positive experience: I was referred to this ultra modern private hospital in Hemel Hempstead by the NHS for a scan. The interiors were immaculate and spacious with wall art and object d’art. My appt was bought forward and I was looked after by attentive staff at reception and in the clinic. I would really have appreciated a coffee or tea which was not forthcoming, but this is a minor criticism. There was an inner square garden with a modern art statue that added an air of tranquility.

Fantastic experience: Amazing! I had a broken upper front tooth, Julia completely reconstructed it, bit by bit with great care and impeccable skill. The finished result is literally indistinguishable in look and feeling (even by myself) from my original tooth. All I can say is she is an artist. And a very good one! As a Dr, she is extremely professional, very knowledgeable with a wonderful patient rapport. She makes you feel very safe! All the team I dealt with at the clinic were also very friendly. I recommend.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a GP appointment to assess a knee injury I had obtained. An MRI scan was conducted straight away to diagnose the issue. Got my diagnoses within 2 days, they also corresponded the results to my NHS GP. The staff were incredibly kind, empathetic and understanding. Dr Patel the GP and Daniel the radiologist were both fantastic. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

Negative experience: Staff not concerned about patients waiting. Or I should refer this to as 1 patient waiting. There rule was to come to an appointment on time over 45 Min passed while they were chatting and laughing amoungst themselves. Should be ashamed of them selves in this pandemic. More training required I think

Fantastic experience: I never realised that going to the dentist could be a nice experience! I’m a nervous patient and they couldn’t possibly have been any more understanding and kind to me. Literally every person that I spoke to was lovely and I was impressed with the direct debit option, which encourages regular visits and is a great price. Would recommended them to anyone and everyone. I also got my flu jab at OSD and the nurse was lovely. They must look after their people there because they all seem so kind and patient

Fantastic experience: Osd is ace. The staff are polite and friendly and I even got seen early. I had an MRI scan and the staff did everything they could to make it as stress free as possible. I even got head phones which played the radio. I've had many MRI scans at Hemel hospital and I've never had this luxury before. If I need any more scans in the future I will defo see if I can go here.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities. The hospital is located in a quiet area with ample parking spaces. Within the staff provide a very welcoming experience. Negative experience: The nurse there faild to take my blood, i asked her to try again, this time from my finger, and she did not want to, and had the receptionist to cash me for 20 pounds for "nurse time", but she did nothing, not even try once more...... Very, very disapointed of this attitude......

Fantastic experience: I've been using OSD for phototherapy (UVB treatment) for the last few months (16 visits at the time of writing). The staff are always friendly, considerate and welcoming. The facility it's self is modern, clean and comfortable. It's been a great experience so far.

Fantastic experience: This review is for an initial GP appointment and then a subsequent follow-up appointment. Firstly, the difference between NHS and OSD GP service is like night and day, I cannot stress that enough. Yes, you pay for the privilege but if you can afford it then I feel it is definitely worth considering. Both times I rang up I was offered a same day appointment between 8am - 8pm and I was spoiled for choice as to which slot to pick. When I arrived, I was pleased to see there was plentiful parking as well as no parking charges. When you are stressed about an appointment you don't want to feel even more stressed trying to find a parking space or feel like you are subsidising the NHS even further, via extortionate parking fees. When you walk through the door, everything is bright and airy and smells clean. The receptionists are professional, friendly, efficient and offer you a seat in a lounge area. Everything is relaxed and comfy and the lounge is split up into separate enclaves, allowing you to sit in peace and quiet. The appointments run like clockwork, if you have an 11:30 appointment the nurse will come and greet you at 11:30 on the dot, I have not experienced any late appointments yet and I don't expect I will, as OSD appear to run a very tightly organised ship. The nurse will then take you to the consulting room where the GP will be waiting. Again, all very slick. The consultation rooms are modern, bright and airy, the chairs are nice and comfy. The diagnostic kit all appears to be new and state of the art. The GP was very professional, he listened to what I had to say which put me at ease straight away. Nothing felt rushed and I had a thorough checkup. If you require diagnostic checks, the GP will advise you of those and what the costs will be, you then have a choice of how to proceed, if it sounds expensive then there is always the option of going back to your NHS GP along with the letter from the OSD GP. In the end I did not need an x-ray but the GP did inform me that the facilities were all on site so it would literally be a case of me getting it done there and then. Again, so refreshing to hear, in the past that would usually mean travelling to Hemel Hempstead hospital for a separate appointment to get an x-ray and then waiting for days for that to be sent to your NHS GP where you would then need to book another GP appointment. Remember, days would usually pass during that process whilst you were still ill and off work. Once you have finished your appointment the nurse will escort you back to reception so you can settle up. In my case, I had a prescription and was pleasantly surprised to find the drug cost to be £2 instead of the usual £8.80 NHS cost. Obviously, this will vary depending on what is prescribed! The next day I received two letters in the post, one was a copy of the letter sent to my GP, the other was a less detailed, 'sanitised' version that I could send to my HR debt. It's these little touches that make all the difference. At my NHS GP a sick note cost me £10 and i would need to wait for a few days to collect it. I would not hesitate to recommend OSD, this is the future of how GP services should be. Available, flexible, efficient and customer centric! Well done OSD

Fantastic experience: From the lady I spoke to when I rang to make enquiries, to the lady who was cleaning the restroom, every member of staff, without exception is totally charming and genuinely friendly at the One Stop Doctors in Hemel Hempstead. I was made to feel instantly valued by- the consultant, the nurses and the front desk staff who went out of their way to be helpful and to ensure that appointments can be fitted around my very busy lifestyle. I was reassured by their concern and interest in my condition. I came home reassured and confident that they will do everything possible to alleviate my symptoms and find a cure for my current medical problems.

Fantastic experience: I've been to One Stop Doctors on a number of occasions, twice for a dental hygienist appointment, once for a physiotherapy consultation, and once for an aesthetics consultation. I've always had the most professional treatment for all 4 of these appointments, and couldn't have asked for a cleaner/smarter practise to go to. Melissa (I believe that's her name) was the hygienist that I saw was absolutely brilliant. I've had some bad experiences on the NHS which is why I went here. It's almost the same price which is really affordable, and she made me feel extremely comfortable, talking me through everything she was doing and also made it very clear that if I needed her to stop at any time I could do so. For my aesthetics consultation, I had an appointment to talk through my options for my skin, and was given a number of options and price ranges. The person talking me through this was very clear with what to expect and how much it would cost, and I wasn't pressured at all to make a decision there and then, I could go home and think it over. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough, I'll always come back here for my teeth and anything else that comes up.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended . Same day appointment offered Calm environment, easy parking and the best service I have ever received by any medical practice. Dr Barton was exceptionally efficient in my diagnosis and made me feel immediately at ease.
Negative experience: All the nurses was nice and welcoming, the doctor I saw was nice to speak to, on other hand only downer I have to this place is the person who gave me a ultrasound was quite blunt and didn’t let me have a say much, and was rude to what I was wearing when I put my clothes on she said “ where’s the rest of your clothes”. I felt very insecure after that visit!

Negative experience: Extremely poor service from doctors here and overall poor, useless, dangerous & rude practise. Wouldn't reccomend wasting money here if you're looking for an actual private alternative from NHS to try and get better care. Would hands down say they provide the worst health care I've ever seen
