Ouse Valley Practice: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and all the doctors that I've seen have been excellent
Fantastic experience: Best surgery I have been to! After moving surgery they sorted my repeat prescriptions really quickly and made sure I had my medication the same day! The doctors I have had appointments with have been so lovely. I have felt listened to, and they have been great with coming up with proactive next steps. Also it's been great to talk to a female doctor about women's health, which in my experience hasn't been taken seriously at other surgeries. Recommend! ⭐
Positive experience: Overall this surgery performs well, but I'm guessing they're under a lot of pressure. Sometimes the reception staff are not very helpful.
Fantastic experience: We had an appointment with Dr Katie Briggs and we are very grateful for the care and support she provided. From the beginning she was kind, understanding and very professional. Our first appointment was originally scheduled about a month later, but after I emailed to explain our situation, she kindly arranged to see us within a week. We really appreciated how responsive and helpful she was. Dr Briggs was incredibly supportive and reassuring throughout and we felt that she genuinely listened and cared. We are very thankful for her help and would highly recommend her. God bless her.
Negative experience: very bad and disorganized surgery, rude GPs and incompetent reception
Fantastic experience: I have had amazing service from everyone in the practice today. The staff sorted issues re a telephone appt, the GP saw me at short notice and dealt with everything I raised. I have always had polite, helpful and professional service since we moved here - even though the footfall has increased due to merging with the Balcombe practice.
Fantastic experience: I always look forward to seeing Sarah and Nicky! They are always so helpful and friendly! It’s nice to have a chat and a laugh with them. It’s a busy surgery but they are able to spare a few minutes in between the chaos. Any issues or questions I’ve had they have always been able to explain and help me! Thank you Sarah and Nicky xx
Fantastic experience: Great practice! Never had issues with appointments
Fantastic experience: Always excellent service with caring doctors, nurses and staff. The only negative point is they do not use electronic prescriptions which means physically dropping off written requests and physically returning to collect the paper prescription then a third trip to the chemist and yet another trip to collect the medicines. Incredibly time consuming and inconvenient to patients especially when you have monthly prescriptions.
Fantastic experience: I cannot fault this Surgery. The medical attention I've received here for the past 13 years is first class. The doctors are compassionate, thorough and approachable. The nurses are cheerful, helpful and efficient. The reception staff do a sterling job under difficult circumstances and the Pharmacy - given sufficient time - always deliver with my complex medication. It's the best medical practice I've had in my 78 years. Thank you to you all.
Fantastic experience: 2 years ago, I was contemplating leaving a bad review, but, the service I have received this year has been outstanding, CAN NOT fault a single thing they do, the reception team are lovely, the dispensary are very helpful, ( and the system they have works very well ) and the doctors have been amazing, 5/5,
Negative experience: Reception staff get worse, the one star rating is not reflective of how I feel, if the system allowed me to give either a minus rating or a zero star rating, I would. Had an appointment today for 15:20, the police had sectioned off Handcross Road with diversion to motorway and having left with plenty of time for my appointment, I was late! The doctor I was seeing phoned me to ask how long I would be? I explained that I was delayed due to the diversion and would be another 8-10 minutes, he said that SHOULD be OK. However, as I arrived at the carpark and said he couldn't wait any longer and I would need to book another appointment via the reception staff. Oh wow; met the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered, she was so rude and offhand because I was late, I explained the circumstances to her and the fact that the doctor already knew; all she would do is repeatedly say "You should've left earlier" and that I was too late for the appointment. I told her I had left with plenty of time but hadn't forseen the diversion, she refused to rebook an appointment telling me to ring tomorrow morning after 08:30, where I would be put on a waiting list I asked her how long would it be, before I could get another appointment, she said that it could take up to three weeks, I explained that I was diabetic, my foot and leg were hugely swollen and bright red which is dangerous for a person who is diabetic. She wasn't in the slightest bit bothered or concerned and told me I shouldn't have been late. Again, I told her why and this meant nothing to her. I thanked her for her concern and asked what to do in the meantime of waiting for an appointment, should my leg fall off and turned to leave the reception area. With complete vitriol she told me "It would teach you for being late!" I turned round and challenged her on this comment to which she told me it was what I deserved because I told her my leg may fall off. Good customer service, care to patients and being a decent human being are quite obviously qualities that this woman does NOT possess, to describe her she has short blonde hair, possibly in her early 40's, she did not have a name badge visible that I could see, so sadly I can't provide you her name. The lunacy of the reception carries on, this appointment was booked today around about 09:00, the farcical system needs highlighting, I went to reception to book another on the day appointment, was told that I can't do it and will have to do it on the phone, a different, equally unhelpful receptionist was on shift, when I queried why I can't do it face to face, I was told "You've got a mobile, why can't you do it on that? Go over in the corner and phone from there." I did as I was instructed, mobile phone signal was rubbish, the receptionist couldn't hear me, I was waving at her, she chose to ignore me and hung up. Went to the desk to explain what had happened and was told to do it from home… my, my, my the lunatics run this asylum.
Negative experience: Shame you can’t give zero stars. This has to be the worst GP surgery in the country. I’m unsure if the unhelpful reception staff are incompetent or just out and out lie to you. The clinical staff are great, just a shame you have to do battle with the front of house staff to get anywhere near them!
Fantastic experience: I would sincerely like to thank Anne and her Dispensary Team at OVP for both their endeavour and diligence today (01JUL25) for resolving both Mine and my Wife's Prescription needs. We are eternally grateful.
Fantastic experience: Excellent surgery. Always able to reach them and most importantly, always able to be seen very quickly on the same day. Thank you for all that you do.
Fantastic experience: Dr Lander is fab. Could not have done more to help us during a stressful time.
Fantastic experience: They’re very kind staff, receptionists are real kind as well.. would 100% recommend. Non judgemental , will make you feel at ease if you have anxiety.
Negative experience: Wouldn't trust them ever again. Been with Ause Valley for just over 10 years. In that time me and my family have been here we have had many incidents. The worst being prescribing my mum medication she's ellergic to on two separate accessions almost killing here. I struggled with food consumption as a teen, told a nurse I was refusing to eat brekfast or lunch and restricting myself to a 400 calorie meal in the evenings only to be told 'you must be eating biscuits and crisps we all do it' which ended in me starving myself completely. I suffered a severe injury in Nov 2021 and had been to the doctors to report severe pain and collapsing 5 times within 2 years after. I keep getting told youve brused your musles and it will fix itself in two years. Moved to Southampton for a masters, collapsed again and within 6 months had me in for knee surgery however as I hadn't revieved the treatment I needed the damage had worsened and now I have a higher chance of arthritis younger. All becouse no one listened to me. 3 job losses and 19 A&E visits laiter. There are a couple of doctors here who are lovely and really really helpful but it's hit or miss if you'll get them and I'm counting on it to be unhelpful 75% of the time, that's if u can get a doctors appointment with an average 6 week wait. Theor pharmacy has a minimum 7 working days wait even though the website says 5 and they purposely make it difficult to get your prescription anywhere else as they are one of the few doctors in the country not to be with the latest online services. It's in the middle of nowhere, for me it's a 3 and a half hour walk and there is no bus service or public transport. I know this isn't entirely the doctors surgery fault. Tried registering with the 4 other closest doctors and have been refused on being 'outside the catchment area' evven though our neighbours less than a meter away are registered with one of them.
Fantastic experience: Not sure who the receptionist was on today being the 7th April 2025. Phoned at lunch time knowing silm chance of getting appointment for today, lovely reception lady was able to sort me a urgent appointment after blood pressure was going through the roof. Couldn't of asked for a politer helpful reassuring conversation.
Negative experience: 1st thing Monday morning I started calling from 8.30am the lines where busy I was thinking fair enough it’s Monday morning you know! It took me an hour to speak with someone on the phone. Then they proceeded to give me an appointment face 2 face I rejected it because I don’t have the funds to travel back and forth! She goes and I quote “you should’ve rang at 8.30am in the morning” I left it not worth it. Tuesday morning pay day woop woop . I call them they booked me for that afternoon okay cool I get there on time! They were 20 minutes late I didn’t complain gave me a junior doctor! Who’s still in training no one was there with her! Then she said I quote “sorry I’m late I’m still new and training I didn’t know how to work the computer” I was thinking okay cool. We are now at the moral of the story! This doctor didn’t even look at me or check my temperature, my blood pressure or sugars! She just processed to google my symptoms on Google then didn’t get the results she wanted then checked her phone on google and told me I should drink lime and honey warm water. She even laughed when I told her I had another appointment with Livi the app doctor. ♀️ my point of the story is they made me come in for lime and honey!
Fantastic experience: I've always had a great experience with this surgery. The reception staff are helpful and efficient, and the clinicians I have seen have always been empathetic and helpful.
Negative experience: Didn’t answer the phone for over an hour, I eventually get through on a Wednesday afternoon to be told I have to be put onto a waiting list to book an appointment for the next 2-3 weeks with no idea when the appointment will be for.
Fantastic experience: Having had a couple of interactions with the practice recently the service seems to have really improved. I’ve seen some really good GPs that have gone out of their way to help (Joe Hedgecock was very good). Front office staff are pleasant even when obviously under pressure (huge improvement from a couple of years ago).
Negative experience: Would be 0* my pregnant wife had to wait over an hour past her appointment time before being seen, then for the receptionist (lady with red hair)to come from out the counter to speak rather loudly stating its because the lady in waiting area is waiting for a letter to go to hospital for her foot is rather disrespectful and possibly a GDPR breach?
Negative experience: Getting appointment requires a degree in hiéroglyphes and the use of a crystal ball and some magic from Harry Potter
Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars for the service I received today, I would! Absolute shambles. I have a repeat prescription for a lifelong medical condition and put the prescription in on Friday, ran out of tablets on Sunday night. On Tuesday I phoned and spoke to a very nice receptionist who told me she would get the pharmacy to issue my tablets today (one box, which only need to be picked up off the shelf and handed to me). She asked me to phone today (Wednesday), at 13:30 to make certain that the prescription would be ready,. I did this and spoke again to the same Receptionist who said my notes showed that the prescription had been attended to. I said my son would collect my prescription at 15:00. However, when he wrnt to the Pharmacy, he was told that it was not ready and I would have to wait until Friday (another two days) because they are so busy. Absolutely disgusting, my notes show that I'm without tablets, I even wrote that on the prescription request, so isn't it wonderful that the pharmacist can play God, gamble with my health and deny me vital medication rather than spend two minutes issuing.y medication? When my son arrived home, bearing the bad news, i had to phone the Pharmacy, tell them how annoyed i was and finally she agreed to issue the medication. That's all very good, I will have my medication shortly, BUT because we are in the rural community we are 3 miles each way/5 to 10 minute car drive each way from the doctors/pharmacy which the pharmacist seems to think is perfectly acceptable that we had a wasted journey and niw need to repeat the exercise. She offered no apology for refusing to give my son my medication when he originally went to get it as arranged at 15:00 today. I think the best thing to do now is take away all profits that the doctors surgery earn from my medication and get it delivered from an alternative source. My husband who has numerous different medications which are extremely lucrative to the GP Practice pharmacy will also take his medication and its subsequent profits to another pharmacy too. I am fed up hearing how under staffed the Pharmacist at the Surgery are. Employ more staff and give the patients a fair and decent service before lots more patients vote with their feet and get their medication elsewhere. When that happens, the practice will have plenty of spare time, BUT reduced revenue and will then look to the redundanting it's workforce to balance its shortfall in practice finances.
Fantastic experience: Thursday 16th I completed an e consult because I had for several weeks been suffering from a chest infection on a background of Asthma. I received a text massage confirming an appointment for 11:30 at Handcross. I just wanted to express my extreme satisfaction with the doctor who carried out the consultation, he listened acted and prescribed various treatments that have made a massive impact. I am so sorry I can not remember your name, but please accept my heart felt thanks
Fantastic experience: Recently moved to the area and have an autoimmune condition that requires consistent medical tests. To say I’m blown away with this surgery is an understatement. Granted the surgery in our old area was very unhelpful, but I genuinely am shocked by how much I am contacted by this surgery to ensure my wellbeing. I had to advocate for my health before and now it feels like I am in a surgery that actually cares about its patients.
Negative experience: Absolute shambles can’t stick to appointments at all I’ve currently been sat 45 mins for a booked appointment and being told it’s late due to child flu jabs but I received a text to state leave early for my appointment due to road works but no text to say they’re running 30/40mins late absolutely ridiculous!! Not the first time at all this has happened. I am just waiting for a jab from the nurse and not unwell but I’m sure sat here with all around me coughing and spluttering I will be now!!!
Fantastic experience: I had pleasure to be seen by Dr Khan, and I can't recommend him enough! He listen to me like good friend would, sharing his opinions and possibilities regarding my health, ending up with, in my opinion, the best solutions to move forward with treatment. After being seen he called me to make sure I'm OK and if I got my medication. 10/10 Thank you Dr Khan
Fantastic experience: I rarely visit the surgery however I have had an excellent experience at this surgery today , polite call this morning with a prompt face to face appointment, seen within the hour. Seen by a very professional GP Dr Camilleri , I would not fault this practice. I think all too often we are used to reading unkind posts about people /services available to us. Just remember this is a free service with kind caring people doing their best within a stretched service . Keep up the good work
Negative experience: This place is awful for anyone with mental health issues.
Negative experience: Impossible to get an appointment.
Negative experience: Never in my life have I had so much trouble from one doctors surgery. I moved house, a whopping 2.5 miles, and was booted out of my old surgery for being out of the practice area. I have been on life dependent medication for the last 15 years and it took so long to get registered at Ouse Valley that I had to go through 111 to get an emergency prescription whilst sitting in no man’s land between the two surgeries. Two months after I’d moved, I still hadn’t been registered, and they didn’t seem all that bothered about the whole thing. Now that I’ve finally been registered (it’s been four months, by the way, so if you’re on deaths door I’d expect the bright light to appear before you can see a doctor here) I went to get the repeat prescription of this oh so vital stuff only to find that no medication was even noted on their system. Luckily, I still had a paper copy of my repeat prescription from my previous surgery, and was told to hand that in, which I duly did. However, I’ve now come to find that said prescription is no longer on repeat, it’s a short term one off medication, and I’ve only been prescribed half the amount. So, I guess this is some sort of modern day natural selection where, in 28 days when I use my last tablet, I simply wait to die. I have been registered at four different surgeries between Portsmouth and Horley and have never had any trouble getting my lifelong medication. How can information of a medication I have been taking for half of my life, and will continue to take until the day I die (in 28 days, apparently) just go missing from the system. Not only that, how can it not be rectified correctly when formal proof of said prescription is provided, leaving me with no way of fulfilling another prescription of my daily medication when this lot runs out. Apologies in advance to the receptionist on duty today as I am now forced to make a nuisance of myself at the surgery as I will not be able to leave until this is sorted. If it isn’t, and my medication runs out, a note to mum and dad on my deathbed - please look after the cat.
Negative experience: nothing is good at this surgery. may open at 8.30 but nobody at reception until 9. if you need to use the pharmacy you have to take time off work due to the opening hours. this is very frustrating when they forget to dispense all the medicines at once
Fantastic experience: It's the best gp practice I've ever used. Sure they are not perfect but they get the job done and the dispensary saves me loads of time
Fantastic experience: Very Happy With this practice from the day i registered with them always get appointment Dr's here are awesome I'm very satisfied
Fantastic experience: Anne sorted out the new meds for my husband today, realy for collection in 3 hrs. Ann listed to my concern, and was ver professional indeed.
Fantastic experience: I just visited to collect my repeat prescription. As I entered and reached towards the ticket dispenser I heard the Dispensary call out No.8. As I pulled on my ticket I hoped it would not be higher than 12 to avoid a wait. Lo and behold it was No.8. Straight to the Dispensing window. The lady smiled and asked for my name. I expressed my pleasant surprise at the speed of my service and the fact , i received a text to advise my prescription was ready 3 working days early. Great service. A change for the better and long lasting, I hope.
Negative experience: Dreadful. Unlike every other GP, no queue function on the phone which just states are busy, call back...endlessly...
Negative experience: Poor communication and information , broken patient confidentiality and generally a lack of awareness. My recommendation would be to avoid this practice if possible.
Negative experience: If I could give no stars I would they way they treat my sister is disrespectful and they way the staff speak to her making stay on hold for ever and the way they speak to patients is disgusting I rung on behalf for my sister omg I will be making a formal complaint I was on hold for 30 mins
Negative experience: Called then 20 times yesterday just to be put on hold for almost 30 minutes for then to say they would put my 2 month old daughter on a waiting list so I waiting all day no call. Called today to be on hold all morning just to say all the appointments have gone this is disgusting behaviour and after me keep saying my Health visit has asked for this appointment. They call me back saying we can see her today at 16:30 and just got a text saying now 15:30
Negative experience: I've been with ouse valley for 35years and all I can say is it has gone down hill in a big way! Use to get a proper service from Rob Morris at his surgery! Now you can't even get past reception who is the worst person I've ever spoken to an I can see many pepole of the same opinion. They seem to think they know everything! What medical training have you had oh none that right! Oh and I was told to go to a&e to get a dressing change when I had a written referral straight from the hospital stating i must see my G.P I'm sure that not right telling me to wasted the NHS time! The recipient knows best!
Negative experience: The people that work there clearly have no aspirations. They all stand there with blank faces while their last braincells chugs along and plans their next move on candy crush saga.
Fantastic experience: This practice has been completely overwhelmed by new local residents, so getting appointments and prescriptions is more difficult than it used to be, but I have been so impressed with how they have supported me and our son through an incredibly difficult time. They continue to be professional and are doing what they can understand clearly very difficult circumstances.
Negative experience: Dispensary is a joke. Waiting for 1h after taking my ticket. And the lady at the desk? Disgusting treatment, not a bit of professionalism in her. She was acting like she was the owner of the place. If you were to be a bit more pleasant…. Patients will have more consideration for you! Plus phone line for dispensary never gets answered and shorten working hours, so if you work… no chance to get your prescription. Disappointing! I hope someone sees this from management and take actions.
Negative experience: I called this practice today to get an appointment, I hold on 2hrs 43 minutes in the morning and no answer, i called in the afternoon hold on for over an hour no answer. Majority of this reviews are bad. Why? Because you and I allow this to happen, we pay these peoples salaries with our taxes. they work for us. I think we need to grow some.... and put our foot down.
Fantastic experience: The surgery have been brilliant since we moved to the area two years ago. With one small child and throughout my second pregnancy. You have to wait a while for non emergency appointments (I imagine that’s the same in most areas) but when I have needed anything urgently they have always seen me quickly and followed up. Huge bonus to be able to collect the prescription from the surgery, especially when you’re feeling rubbish!
Negative experience: 1 hour to pick up a repeat prescription! What a painful experience, the new ticket system does not work.
Negative experience: I'd give a minus star rating if poss. I've made several complaints after 1) Dr didn't tick the box on computer saying I'd had a meds review, so went through the farce of computer not allowing me to order prescription until I'd had a meds review and no common-sense by staff so had 3 med reviews in 5mths. 2) I have mobility issues and struggle to get to the surgery so I provided x12 1st class stamped address envelopes as per their policy to send my prescriptions to the chemist - as believe it or not THEY DO NOT DO ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTIONS in 2023 ... well the 1st month they lost my envelopes so instead of ringing me, they sent it in the middle of a postal strike 2nd class. Went without pain meds for nearly a week! My fault obvs! 2nd month, perfect but put complaint in.... and 3rd month - the prescription went "missing" and now they refuse to send my prescriptions at all !!!! The place is run by accident, don't even bother making a complaint as you get persecuted and treated even worse..... and the reception staff are rude and talk over you in a patronising manner (over phone - when they answer) and in person - you ate an inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but own up and apologise and then put it right. I wish I could change from this surgery, but sadly stuck. I hate going there and dread every time I'm forced to make contact. It used to be a lovely well run place - but it's a joke. No one cares and patients are treated as an inconvenience.
Negative experience: Receptionist very rude, accused me of being 2 minutes late for my appointment even though I was stood in front of her for over 5 minutes whilst she took a phone call and completely ignored me, this was after I had spent time trying to sign into the booking system that didn’t work, and then they were 35 minutes late calling me in for my appointment. Terrible
Negative experience: Answer the phones! Useless. I call and am on hold for 51 mins. I then get my call answered only to have it hung up on me. I then try to call reception which is also a painful experience. All in all I will have to drive in to find if the dispensary has my medication rather than have a 2 second yes or no answer to such a question. Sort it out!
Negative experience: never answer the phone. Please answer the phone!!!
Negative experience: Really bad surgery especially some of the senior doctors to name a few Dr.Brigs and Doctor Hardingham, sadly to say have very weak medical knowledge and they just like pushing the can down the road without referring patients To secondary care even if they have abnormal blood results ,really bad
Negative experience: They never pick up the phone! Trying for days, the receptionist is very rude. Waist of time! Such a bad service
Negative experience: Utterly hopeless at answering the phone and no ring back service - best way to get an appointment is to drive there.
Negative experience: No electronic prescription service in 2022??? One week later the pharmacy still hasn't received my prescription because they post prescriptions as opposed to use an electronic system. I have now missed the starting date. Suggestion: pigeons or smoke signals are faster!
Negative experience: Don't go there, the receptionist is very rude, she thinks she can assess the urgency of your need to see the doctor by phone, and she's not qualified! Worst experience I have had with a practice. She doesn't want to give an appointment to my newborn.
Negative experience: Profit takes priority above care.
Negative experience: Horrific front of house service. Never experienced anything like it! Once you get to the doctors they are brilliant, but the uncaring and dictatorial attitude of the reception is abhorrent.
Negative experience: Very poor receptionist not helpful and discriminate against the sick and disabled
Negative experience: Receptionists are rude when they finally answer the phone and you struggle to get an appointment. You can now only make appointments for blood tests in the morning which seems crazy. Never running on time. Last appointment I had booked I sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes only to be told the doctor had gone home earlier that day and my appointment was cancelled.
Negative experience: If I could put minus stars I would. I have had repetitive awful experiences with this Surgery! I’ve had multiple infections because they’ve told me ‘there’s nothing wrong with me’ despite me showing them and giving them photos. I’ve even been to urgent care and hospitals and been told that the doctors should have given me antibiotics or referred me! I’ve now been on hold for over 2 hours trying to get an appointment and get told every two minutes ‘your call is important to us’ that’s a joke. I called yesterday and am sure I’ll have to call tomorrow as well. I’m sure the reasons I’m still calling is all because they didn’t do their job in the first place. They’re very rude and couldn’t care less. Will be changing doctors ASAP!
Negative experience: I have been a patient of this practice for many years and can only say the service has fallen off a cliff recently. I have just spent over 2 HOURS on hold trying to get through a human being. It is extremely obvious that "your call is important to us" is a total lie and the care of patients is well down the list of importances to this practice. Services at Balcombe are being continually scaled back and the dispensary team cannot be trusted to get repeat prescriptions right. If I had a choice I would vote with my feet.
Fantastic experience: The service from the Dispensary is excellent. Always. Five stars. Sadly getting a doctor’s appointment is a lottery. Call at 08.30 and you might get through or you may get busy tone. When you do get through there is no guarantee that you will get an appointment. If you call after 08.30 asking for an appointment you are told to call tomorrow at 08.30. And so on. Ouse Valley does not offer COVID vaccine injections nor assistance in obtaining them. I know the pandemic has put pressure on local surgeries but Ouse Valley service appears to have disappeared compared to their previous excellent performance.
Negative experience: getting through to the practice is insane, you have to keep phoning repeatedly - only to be told to phone 111 or have a zoom call in a months time, even after they've told you that you really do need to see a doctor. Clearly all public sector salary guaranteed employees with no interest in improving anything, if this was private sector - it would fail as a business. They promise referrals but you have to keep chasing - which means loads of calls and holding on, the pharmacy is a mess which will mean visiting repeatedly to get drugs well after the due date. There's no continuity of treatment - they clearly need an overhaul
Negative experience: Unbelievable that you cant get an appointment for weeks even for a child, no telephone consultation keep saying the LIVI online GP should be available but no appointments whatsoever, tried for days but don't get appointment any time of the day. Ending up on A&E every time. I have private health care but cant access any of the services without a GP referral, back to square one as you just cant get to see a GP. Thanks
Fantastic experience: I've had a bad experience with the Balcombe practice a while ago but I must say the handcross surgery was brilliant. I live in Cornwall, my parents in Balcombe, so I needed to talk to the surgery about a matter. Sue was fantastic, really friendly and helpful, such a contrast to the Balcombe surgery. Thank you Sue , we sorted our concern .
Positive experience: Not very organised
Negative experience: I had the worst experience trying to set up a repeat prescription for 2 asthma inhalers. I needed to jump through several hoops including writing a letter to request the inhaler, waiting almost a week, driving 5 miles to the nearest dispensary, being issued the wrong medicine and wrong quantity, and a doctor performing a 'consultation' without having ever met or spoken to me. I requested to speak to the doctor in question but was given a telephone consultation slot 3 weeks out. - Which I'm told is normal. As per the recommendation ''if I don't like it, I can go elsewhere'', I have been left with no choice but to manage my own asthma and order my own inhalers from ukmeds.co.uk - After a short online consultation with them I will have my required inhaler delivered tomorrow via DPD! A great result in the end, but I can't help feeling disappointed with a system which I cannot access but I am obliged by law to contribute to. The fact is that if I ran my business and treated my customers the way this practice treats their patients, I wouldn't be in business. Privatise! Clear out the dead wood, give deserving staff members a pay rise and improve the customer experience.
Negative experience: I tried to call yesterday and waited over half an hour, I've had no response to any emails, and just again spent over 30 minutes waiting on the phone before giving up... I've been with them when I'm home from uni over the last two years and I have the same issue everytime
Fantastic experience: I do not agree with the review about chit chatting staff, complete nonsense ,people need to realize there not the only important person in surgery,as for q for pharmacy what do they exspect its about keeping everyone safe,in my opinion the surgery is doing a very good job in very hard times,if your not happy go elsewhere and not upset the happy balance at ouse valley
Negative experience: The doctors and nurses are great. However trying to get an appointment is an absolute joke ! Waiting for 40 minutes + every time you call. Receptionist customer service is poor, talking about other patients and plans they have at the weekend whilst other patients are waiting to speak to them.
Negative experience: Some of the Doctors are amazing however the time you wait to get through to one of the VERY rude receptionists is an absolute joke. To then be told the next available appointment is nearly a month away is hilarious.. no wonder people clog up A&E it infuriates me when people moan about patients wasting hospital time when thats the only option you have!!
Negative experience: Doctors are great when you get an appointment, Receptionists near to learn how to talk to people and not discuss patients in front of other patients . These new ones are not so helpful as the old Receptionists. Very disappointed
Fantastic experience: I saw the delightful Dr Hussein this morning. She is like a breath of fresh air! She's thoughtful, professional, listens & she gave me lots of confidence. She resolved the problem & gave me the feeling that if I needed any more questions answered she would be there. Lovely lady & a real asset to the practice.
Negative experience: Awful practice, the worst I’ve ever experienced. Phoned for an urgent appointment on March 12th as I’d had severe diahorrea since March 2cnd. Was told I was 17th in the queue so I tried for reception to be told I was 11th in the queue. Gave up and went to a ‘walk in’ clinic in Croydon and saw a doctor who expressed concern about my condition due to my age, 70. She said I should have a stool sample sent for analysis immediately and that this would reveal anything ‘sinister’ and that the results would be back in 3 days. I duly handed in a stool sample on Monday 18th March, phoned for the results today, Monday 25th March only to be told there was no trace of the sample having been received/sent away.
