Great Cornard Dental Practice: Reviews
Negative experience: I tried at least 7 times to see a dentist here. Every one was cancelled last minute, sometimes whilst I was even in the waiting room. I’ve managed to get myself into a much better practise elsewhere in Suffolk but I’ve now been told because I waited so long to get treatment I now need majorly work done on my teeth and had I been seen earlier I wouldn’t have. I am considering legal action.
Negative experience: Appalling dentist. I made an official complaint about this practice when they initially opened. I was registered here under the previous dentist and when he left, they refused to acknowledge me. Never answer phones, always closed. An absolutely abysmal outfit that should no be allowed to conduct themselves in this way, but it's the UK, so they get away with it. I wouldn't let them anywhere near my teeth!! His excuse of being ill is just rubbish, he has been bad since they day they 'opened'.
Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS DENTIST. I know people are desperate for appointments right now but booking here is a waste of time. They cancelled my father’s appointment the day before. There is no point rebooking as they WILL cancel again. Time wasted now we had to find another dentist. The receptionist even called back to argue with me after hanging up the call. Shouldn’t be offering services.
Negative experience: Quite honestly this Dentist doesn't even deserve 1 star, but I am not able to leave a review without one star, I saw him once in 2025 and the next appointment was cancelled at the last minute, explaining to me he had the flu, and then the second booked appointment was again cancelled with no reason, I went to the surgery explaining that I worked different shift patterns which is why I book in advance, but I had to reiterate this to the receptionist a number of times as she didn't seem to understand. This practice has no empathy, honesty, and a serious lack of care for its patients, its like the owner finds his behaviour acceptable. He needs his licence taken away. He has a duty of care to his patients which he isn't providing. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST.
Negative experience: My experience with multiple cancelled emergency appointments, & no answer on the phone, has been the same as all the other reviewers. I gave up & moved to another dentist last year. Unfortunately this dentist doesn't seem to care about inconveniencing his patients. Hence the one star. The dental treatment I did manage to get has been fine, however.
Negative experience: Never a dentist. Always cancel. Just want your money go elsewhere
Fantastic experience: Amazing Dentist. Had a crown fitted in and was painless. I have fear of dentists. Great practice! Was seen on time and the dentist was polite, friendly and professional.
Negative experience: Been with this horrendous practice for 2 years now. Out of all my appointments they have cancelled all but 1. Spend hours trying to call with no answer, leave message for them to call back, with no result. Twice I have driven to them just to Book an appointment. My son is having a brace at end of month and needs 4 teeth taken out. Today they have text me to cancel the appointment. Honestly it's laughable but so very frustrating. Stay away. It's too stressful
Negative experience: This dentist is an absolute joke won’t even answer the phone spent two hours this morning trying to get through to confirm my appointment as have to travel an hour and a half to get there only to receive a message as I was about to go out of the door to cancel yet again this is the seventh time on the bounce it has been cancelled. It is not only me it’s my friends and family, who all have to travel at least two hours to get there ,twice I have arrived on the outskirts of the town only to be called to cancel which is absolutely infuriating a waste of time and fuel how this business is still continuing is beyond me if they can’t provide a Dentist why are they taking on patients they deserve to loose their nhs contract they wouldn’t last long as a private dentist with their reviews and reputation. I wouldn’t recommend them at all !!
Negative experience: Awful dentist. Nothing good to say. More cancellations than appointments, completely unorganised. Poor work. Scruffy staff. Had to pay a bomb private to fix their negligence. Suffolk need to sort out NHS dental. It’s a shambles. Avoid this place at all costs.
Fantastic experience: I had a good experience with this dentist, I texted the night before and got an appointment the next day. Very professional made me feel comfortable. Thank you.
Negative experience: Awful dentist. Cancel appointments with one hour notice at best, at worst you turn up and it’s closed. Do the bare minimum and do not care. I’m now having to pay for private work due to negligence.
Negative experience: Emergency appointment canceled 1 hour before the actual appointment. Because the dentist hasn’t turned up. I am a registered patient here but will be looking to change to another practice. This place is a joke frankly
Negative experience: People this is the worst dentist I have ever seen. I paied £360 for teeth that I could not eat with and broke ending having to go private because I could not get to see him don't use
Negative experience: Absolutely awful. Been a patient since early this year and I've not even managed to have my first appointment with them. I've had 7 appointments booked and cancelled. When they call to cancel it's usually an hour or two before the appointment and they do not prioritise the patients that they call they just tell you they have an appointment in another 3-4 weeks which then gets cancelled again. They only have 1 dentist who is always off sick or in London
Negative experience: The dentist work has been ok but trying to get in contact has been horrendous. Not being open on a Friday has made things a lot more difficult. Just wish they could service the phone line better.
Positive experience: Had about 7 or 8 appointments cancelled this year, don’t know what’s going on. They never rebook them there and then, you have to call back and they often don’t answer. Dentist just not turning up - maybe they have several practices and are spreading their dentists too thin? They’re NHS though so what alternative is there?
Negative experience: Beyond frustrating the service here has been shocking - I booked an Invisalign consultation that got moved several times.by weeks. And one got moved to 3 months later which I attended after it was moved again. I then booked for the impressions to be done to have this moved 3 more times and finally today was the day I had an app at 1.00 pm. However I got a phone call around 11 am telling me it had now moved again but to 3.20 - I have left the clinic without my impressions being completed as they were still running late. Not the fault of the receptionist she is lovely, however the service offered is beyond poor.
Negative experience: This dental surgery should be ashamed of themselves. 111 found my mum an emergency dental appointment for 1.10pm. Needless to say we were skeptical reading reviews beforehand. We were then called to say it was postponed until 6.30pm & the receptionist then said, ‘if the dentist can make it.’ When we pushed & asked if he was unlikely to make it then, she then snapped, told us to have confidence that he’d be there. As my mums face continued to swell, we called to see if the appointment could be brought forward, which she then said could be arranged for 5.50pm. Shortly after, we received a call to say, he wouldn’t be there & the appointment was cancelled. She insisted that she booked an appointment for the following day, despite us saying we wouldn’t attend, because we were pretty confident the dentist wouldn’t bother to turn up anyway. The receptionist became rude, spoke over us & wouldn’t listen to a word we tried to say. I would prefer toothache than have any dealings with this utter shambles of a dental surgery ever again. Pathetic.
Fantastic experience: In a time where NHS dentists are impossible to find, and franchises monopolise even the world of healthcare, Great Cornard Dental Practice go against the grain. With a small team, I doubt you will find anywhere willing to go as far to find the best care for you. They may struggle to maintain appointments, I have had a few cancelled in a row, but it is understandable as prices rise and they have to compensate for NHS patients. You can see how hard they all work. The dentist I have been seeing in particular is phenomenal, has helped me feel really comfortable in the chair, explains anything when I ask, and I've now become more confident with my smile. I would rather go to this dentist and have my appointment cancelled a few times knowing and trusting they give everyone the best care and that they're not going to take advantage of you. I live quite far and get the bus and this is the only NHS dentist I can find, so my only comment would be to try to let me know sooner if my appointment is cancelled. But I always see how busy the receptionist is! Thank you all so much!
Negative experience: This is the worst dentist I have seen. I had work done and have been the most painful didn’t even see a dentist who could carry out talk the work and had to even hold my own suction while a filling was being done ! The dentist would finish watching snooker on his phone if I did manage an appointment before he spoke to you in the chair! and not looked after at all I had five appointments cancelled whilst on the way to my appointment for the worst reasons like my car broke down and he’s not coming in today! I would not recommend these at all as I think they take advantage of the fact it’s not easy to get an nhs dentist anywhere! Would’ve have even given one star !
Negative experience: Absolutely shambles of a dental practice, cancelled appointments last minute on every occasion, to a point I need more treatment. Missing days of work. Just a awful place
Negative experience: Alas like so many others it seems I have had my last 4 appointments cancelled with barely any notice at all so the dentist can have an extended holiday - just hope the next one they booked me is available and not also cancelled as its been almost 4 months since I booked my original appt. Cant fault the receptionist she is lovely but they do need to sort this out or will be looking for an alternative dentist
Negative experience: A year ago he persuaded me to have all my top teeth out promising me I'd never be without teeth, I'm still waiting. He cancels 7 out of 8 appointments, after snapping off all my teeth I had to go to another dentist as I woke up covered in blood & he didn't want to come in on his day off despite me soaking through 2 toilet rolls an hour. He refused to give me anything other than amoxicillin even though I'm allergic. Ended up in hospital. A year on I'm still waiting for my dentures, paid him a year ago. Now I will need cosmetic surgery as my face has dropped & I sound like a drunk retard when I speak (I work 7 days a week) , my customers keep asking if I've had a stroke, I have missed weddings, funerals & have not socially interacted at all for a year because of the effect this has on me. If you have any other option DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST. I will be taking him to court. If I could have given him negative stars I would have. The receptionist Kerry must be a saint though, she gets all the crap when she has to phone & cancel yet again because of the lazy dentist who obviously has too much money but no work ethic.
Negative experience: Multiple appointments cancelled with hardly any notice, sometimes minutes before. Understand that sometimes appointments will need to be cancelled but it's more often they are cancelled than they aren't which isn't acceptable. Avoid at all costs.
Negative experience: Have had almost all my appointments cancelled on the day and even minutes before my appointment. Came with a cavity now due to cancellations will be needing root canal. Reception are lovely but that’s a bit pointless if there’s no dentist to go with that! Don’t really know how this is still open considering he’s always on holiday or ill
Negative experience: 90% of my appointments get cancelled on the day hours before. Small issues escalate into big cavities and root canals out of the constant delays.
Negative experience: Dodgy dentist be aware if another practice is taking on NHS patients I would suggest you leave.
Fantastic experience: Finding an NHS dentist at the moment is like trying to find a unicorn but when I called i was invited to come in and register. Due to an emergency the receptionist also found me an appointment for the following day. I was apprehensive due to negative reviews however I was pleasantly shocked. Kerry the receptionist was so caring and understanding and the dental team I saw were great.
Negative experience: Having written a letter fully stating that we no longer wished to be patients, explaining our reasons, as we'd had 4 appointments cancelled. We were told they'd phoned Mr Warne's number instead of Mrs Warne's number. The number the receptionist called was "NEITHER" of our numbers!!!! Not Mr Warnes as the receptionist keeps on and on saying. You cancelled appointments, it was not us not turning up as you tried to say. We sent a letter weeks a go in the post clearly, - very clearly stating that we were leaving your practice. The receptionist even telephoned Mr Warne saying they'd received our letter re us coming off their books!! Then wished Mr Warne all the best. Yet she still leaves us messages mentioning future appointments and trying hard to put us straight, like it was us who'd got it wrong!! You couldn't make this up. It's becoming very, very stressful. Please do not contact us again under any circumstances. In no shape or form. T and S. Warne 28th September 2024.
Negative experience: I have had 4 appointments cancelled in a row. Just told, Oh, - the dentist is on holiday, as if my appointments didn't matter. Texted day before to confirm the last appointment, then cancelled the next day. Receptionist insisted she'd left me a voicemail, my granny phone hasn't got a voicemail facility. Receptionist kept on telling me she had voicemailed me!!! Also, she'd been ringing the wrong number, not my phone!!! And kept insisting that I take my mobile out of my pocket, as she wanted to prove her point. Which came across as very rude. Will be leaving. Well, I have now. As it feels like you have a dentist - yet they're forever cancelling!! And expect you to brush it aside. Most disappointed.
Fantastic experience: I recently moved to this practice as I had a bad experience with my previous dentist and after only having had 2 appointments I could not recommend this place enough! The lovely receptionist booked me In asap and made me feel so comfortable and welcome, really putting my mind at ease as I was nervous about having composite bonding. My previous dentist had told me composite bonding would not be possible for me so I was sort of skeptical as to how it would turn out, but I really could not be happier with the result! You can’t even tell it’s not real tooth-and it was all done in 15 minutes! My teeth had always been a big insecurity of mine but I’m so happy I had it now! I’m so thankful at how quickly and professionally everything was dealt with, I will definitely be staying!!
Fantastic experience: Friendly, helpful and caring. Great service
Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist. Brilliant staff. I used to be petrified of going too the dentist. But all the staff here have always put me at ease so now it's no longer a stress for me. Can't recommend them higher enough.
Negative experience: Got called 3 days before appointment as a reminder of said appointment, to be then called on the day 10 minutes before appointment to be told that Dentist Jemil will not be in today this is the third time this has happened to me I have seen the dental hygienist but not the dentist himself this is unacceptable if you had another appointment with a health professional would they cancel on the day 10 minutes before. When asked for the payment I had made to get told that she can’t give the money without speaking to the dentist himself this is not acceptable whatsoever absolutely ridiculous service that we have to pay for upfront.
Negative experience: Trying to get through on the phone is an absolute nightmare 5 times I’ve tried to call today and left a message and still no call back
Hi Rebecca, unfortunately we have no internet access today and our phone lines run on the internet.
We have an engineer coming out tomorrow to look at the problem. In the mean time please contact us via email at [email protected].
Fantastic experience: I registered today with this dentist. The receptionist was really friendly and put me at ease ( I have a huge phobia of dentists) She managed to get me an emergency appointment the same day. The dentist himself was very patient with me and understood my anxieties. I would certainly recommend them.
Fantastic experience: Thank you all for the way I was looked after, it was first class,
Negative experience: Terrible this place made me wait for weeks for a appointment to be then told on the day they had to cancel, dentist is only there on Monday and Thursday,
Fantastic experience: Great dentist and friendly professional staff
Fantastic experience: I cannot thank everyone at this dentist surgery enough. Being someone who is literally petrified of the dentist, when I had tooth pain 2 weeks ago, it was my worse nightmare. After speak to the lovely receptionist at cornard dental surgery she got me an appointment the next morning and then a follow up appointment the next week to have the tooth removed. The dentist and his nurse were amazing and put me at ease. When I went back for the extraction the dentist was running late due to the huge amount of patients he had to see and there was a bit of grumbling going on in the waiting room because of the wait, which amazed me as there are so many people who can’t even find a dentist, so I personally would have waited all day if I had to. They also took me on as an NHS patient. Thank you so much Cornard dental surgery.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for taking me as a new NHS patient. The receptionist is a lovely happy lady with a warm welcome. The dentist and nurse put me at ease and made my visit as pleasant as it could have been. Not so anxious about my second visit now. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Couldn't ask for a better dentist lovely welcoming and bright and they accept NHS patients we need more places like this
