Fantastic experience: I was extremely nervous when I first booked my appointment because I really didn’t know what to expect. But from the moment I walked into the surgery, I felt completely at ease. I was welcomed warmly, and that reassurance stayed with me throughout the whole process. Everything was explained clearly — the treatment options, the pros and cons, and the costs involved. I never once felt pressured into choosing the implant route. Instead, I felt supported and well-informed, which made it much easier to decide that an implant was the right choice for me. Honestly, what I had built up in my mind about having a dental implant was far worse than the reality. There was no pain, no discomfort, and I certainly wasn’t sitting in the chair for hours. At every appointment, the plan for the day was explained carefully, and I was always asked if I felt comfortable to go ahead. After the screw was inserted, I even received two follow-up phone calls to check that I was doing okay and to see if I had any questions or concerns. I also had face-to-face check-ups, which really reassured me that everything was healing exactly as it should. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to return to Dr Sukh and his wonderful team for my next implant. I’m so grateful for the care and kindness I received, and I wholeheartedly recommend Upton Dental Surgery.

Fantastic experience: Have had great service with routine check ups for myself and my children, very thorough and great communication. Then had an emergency appointment today for my daughter who had chipped her tooth with Dr Emily. I rang at 11.30, she was seen by 2.30 and the chipped tooth sorted. Dr Emily was warm with such a lovely bedside manner which really put my usually very sensitive daughter at ease. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sukhvir was very professional when I had to have teeth out and replaced. He was patient and kind explaining the process thoroughly. Really recommend this practice as all the staff are really pleasant and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I was seen as a 111 emergency patient today. I was called promptly, appointment offered straight away, no sit and wait, in and out . Problem dealt with immediately and effectively. Courteous and professional, highly recommended

Negative experience: Our family were removed from the register because I was bed bound with an ankle problem on the day of our appointment. I rang as soon as able when my child returned from school and brought my phone upstairs for me but the miserable old receptionist didn't want to know and said I was too late in ringing. It's a shame as we really liked Dr L, he's probably the best dentist I've had since being registered there for decades. The sour faced receptionist isn't a very Good ambassador for the practice and we would probably have changed dentists anyway before she struck us off. I hope she doesn't wreck your business Dr L, you were great with my children. Good luck with the future but get rid of sourpus. Edit: a year later I went to the doctor's surgery for a blood test. I thought I'd hobble over on my crutches to the newly refurbished dental reception and ask about treatment for my schoolboy son and I. Sour pus is still there and just told me we had to pay and gave me a pricelist. Best bit is the filling I need replacing was put in by DR L but treatment is now refused as an NHS patient

Fantastic experience: Absolutely over the moon with their fantastic professional service. I previously used a practice in Pershore and wasn't happy, so after my tooth broke at the weekend I contacted Upon via email. I was booked in for an emergency appointment and during that appoint Dr Sukhvir Lyall did not undertake the extraction as I thought would happen. Instead he rebuilt my broken tooth. He was very good in all his explainations along with his pure professionalism and this is the first time in years I can honestly say I came away from a dentist gleeming in joy. They have a tiered pricing system so you know what you are going to be charged. Not hidden agendas with this practice and I honestly believe in your values. You have all my future custom moving forward thank you so much for restoring my faith in the dental system.

I was instantly made to feel relaxed by Sukh and the incredible team of dental nurses. Fantastic experience: We would highly recommend Dr Gurpreet Lyall, for his professional expertise in making new dentures for my husband Antony Chew in less than two months, starting with 7 extractions without hardly any pain. Antony has always been terrified of dentists and with the added problem of Dementia Dr Gurpreet made it a relaxing informative experience and the end result new dentures, Antony is absolutely in love with his new teeth and would like to thank not only the dentist but all the staff that treated him with care and respect. Fantastic experience: I was anxious and scared as it had been years since I’d visited a dentist! However as I sat in the chair all my worries went. The dentist and dental nurse put me at ease straight away. Everything was explained to me and I left feeling grateful for their kindness and proud I’d taken that first step. Fantastic experience: First dental visit for 5 years, thoroughly pleasant experience, bad molar painlessly removed, rest of my teeth cleaned. Dentist explained explained each step of the procedure, nurses were very good. All in all a very positive experience, reception staff friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Very recently my I had a previously root canaled and crowned tooth fail (the original work was some years old and not done by Upton Surgery, even so it had lasted years). I was in a lot of pain from Thursday through to Monday when I presented myself at reception. We all know that short notice appointments are hard to get but reception were delightful and could see my distress fitting me in later that day. After a thorough examination by Sukh he proclaimed that the best course of action was for me to have the tooth out. As much as I don't really want to admit it I was a little scared and very nervous but I was in a lot of pain so we just got on with it (well they did, I just lay there really). He and his assistants really looked after me and kept me informed throughout the procedure. The relief was massive, I was given great aftercare instructions and now it's up to me for next steps of what I chose to do... Leave the gap, have a denture, have a bridge, or have an implant. No pressure from the dentist so it's up to me. Great staff and a great service Ian

Fantastic experience: My husband & I have used this Practice privately now for over a year, following the closure of the NHS Practice we used in Tewkesbury before. The team here are excellent. Whether we’re seeing Claire the Hygenist or Gurpreet the Dentist we are always treated with the utmost care & consideration. As soon as you walk in to your appointment it’s quite clear Gurpreet has already kept herself up to date with your medical history. The team welcomes you in a friendly & kind way. It’s always an absolute delight to come here. We’re retired people with years of dental care experience & I can honestly say this Practice from Reception to Surgery is first class. Fantastic experience: My wife went to Upton Dental Surgery for the first time today (18/01/2025) for a 9.15am appointment and all she could do was sing praises the reception staff were amazing, very understanding, knew what they were talking about, made you feel welcomed the minute you walked in the door. The practice was very clean and tidy and she went in on time. The Dentist and his assistant were very kind, explained what they were doing before and during her treatment. They checked she was ok throughout the procedure. They were all extremely professional and credit to the surgery.

Fantastic experience: I moved to this practice about a year ago and it’s the best dental practice I have been with. Really friendly staff, great advice and recommendations, and great at what they do. My last dentist left me in quite a lot of discomfort after various visits, which has made me quite anxious about visiting the dentist. Upton Dental have been thorough with checkups and cleaning but no pain or discomfort which is amazing. I no longer dread my dental appointments.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in this dental practise, myself and my family have been using this practise for almost 30 years plus. Before the new owners took over. I tried to book an appointment today but as I cancelled one appointment and didn’t attend due to personal reasons. I called to book myself in today and they said “This goes against our practice policy as when patients short notice cancel/fail to attend two or more consecutive appointments they won't be offered further appointments. We have to maintain and uphold this policy especially in the current climate to ensure we minimise missed appointments and therefore minimise lost clinical time”” - as much as I appreciate this, as a local resident and loyal client I would expect or appreciate a little leeway on these rules. Nope, they said we won’t have you back and if you want to take your kids elsewhere too then feel free. The receptionist is extremely rude and abrupt and very unwelcoming, I wouldn’t recommend this dentist at all as it seems they don’t care for loyal local clients.

Negative experience: I have been a loyal patient at Upton Dental Surgery for over 35 years, along with my entire family, and have always appreciated the care and professionalism of the team under Dr. Llewellyn. However, since the recent changes, I have been deeply disappointed with the service. The current staff lack the warmth and people skills that were once the hallmark of this practice. On my recent visits, I have experienced unprofessional behavior and discourteous communication, which is entirely unlike the standard I had come to expect over the years. It saddens me to say that, after three decades of trust and loyalty, my family and I feel we have no choice but to seek care elsewhere. I hope the practice can reflect on this feedback and make improvements for the sake of its remaining patients.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sukhiv Lyall was excellent today, he was very attentive and caring with my 88 year old mother. She needed some new dentures, but he managed to fix and use glue for her old ones. He was genuinely trying to help her and came up with the best solution for her age group, without taking extra money for a new pair. I would highly recommend this dentist and his team. They have empathy and take the time to explain in a patient and professional manner.

Fantastic experience: Having always been nervous with dentists, I wasn't sure what to expect. Dr Sukhvir Lyall is a professional with an extremely calming manner who reassures you from the moment you walk in. Absolutely no pressure to have any procedures that make you uncomfortable at the time. My previous tooth extraction with him, which was needed and not done with another dentist was actually pain free and quick. I would absolutely recommend him and the team. Definitely going back (In 6 months!).

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! I've avoided going to the dentist after some very unprofessional things happening at another place, which made me extremely anxious! All the staff where brilliant at Upton Dental and explained everything and made sure I was at ease for each visit! Fantastic experience: A friend recommended Upton Dental Surgery when I was desperate for a dentist I could afford. I registered with them on one of their independent plans. Around eight years ago I had dental work somewhere else that had gone wrong and the shortage of available NHS dentists left me with extremely poor teeth. My teeth are now looking so much better thanks to Dr Sukhvir Lyall and his team of dental nurses. I was a little anxious about visiting a dentist after so long. This anxiety soon disappeared thanks to the professional and friendly team at Upton Dental Surgery. I had feared that most of my teeth were beyond repair. This was not the case and I would strongly encourage anyone who has any damage to their teeth register with Upton Dental Surgery. Negative experience: Theres is now in excess of 5 complaints to the dental association this guy be loosing the surgery soon Would give 0 stars if possible. Someone with anxiety treated like scum and was told if i re arrange app "he wont see me again" and likewise if i didnt turn up so left me absolutely no option other than not go. This surgery was great until it changed hands. The new guys couldnt organise a beer tasting session at a brewery Useless jokers, dont even waste your time

Fantastic experience: Most people, I believe, don’t like going to the dentist. My own experience with my last dentist was not a particularly good one - a cursory 3-5 minute check up (if you could call it that) and “pay on the way out”. What an absolute delight to attend the Upton Dental Surgery. A top-class friendly team with excellent communication skills - they listen! What a difference. I need a small amount of work done and an appointment was set up easily and frankly, I can’t wait to go back. I actually had some fun whilst I was there. Joyous, lovely people. Thank you - this should have an ‘Outstanding’ CQC report as I am convinced that the overall practice will be exceptional.
