Fantastic experience: Great value dentist, with friendly staff

Fantastic experience: I have been really impressed with Lakeside dental practice since joining a while ago, but wanted to write a review after such a good experience having my first procedure done there. Melissa Wright is calm, professional and reassuring taking time to explain everything she is doing and is very skilled. Procedure was painless and so different to experiences with previous dentists. If you are looking for a dentist in Taunton I can't recommend Melissa at Lakeside highly enough.

Fantastic experience: If you have any anxiety issues (like me) about visiting a dentist, please be assured that Helene will take such excellent care of you before and during the treatment process. Whether this be for an initial examination or the treatment itself. Each stage is explained and plenty of time for short breaks of needed. Right from the initial greeting by reception staff to the clinic staff, I would certainly recommend this excellent Dental Practice.

Fantastic experience: After not going to a dentist for several years plucked up courage and booked in with Lakeside. Was put very much at ease which made the experience all the more bearable. So pleased I went and am so much happier now I've had the treatment done. Also I can eat what I want.

Helene made me feel at ease from the start and Becky my hygienist is so caring and gentle. I have not had great experiences in the past with other dentists but I no longer dread my appointments. Negative experience: I have been with the dental practice since it opened. It took alot for me to visit a dentist after years of treatment as a child. At my initial appointment the dentist made me feel alittle uncomfotable, and I felt she was looking down her nose at me. I continued to vist and things seeme ok. Becky is lovely. However, visited today after making an appointment on line as i needed a tooth extracted, to be given a talking down to, telling me I should not have booked on line, I should have phoned and I need to see my own dentist. I apologised and offered to go back, but thwy continued with the extraction after accusing me of being short with them and having another lecture about how everyone has there own issues and she had moved house and her mother had been diagnosed with cancer. I have since checked the website and there is no information on it about having to call and the only appointments you can make are check ups and hygienist. The dentist made me feel awful today and I wanted to cry. They charged me £175 for the luxury of being moaned out because their website is not clear. (When an extraxtion is £125!!!) Have now asked to be removed from their list and will find a dentist that does not speak to their paying customers in this way.

Fantastic experience: After years of neglecting my teeth. I took the plunge and found the experience excellent. Friendly staff, thoughtful of customers and great work on my teeth. Would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional dentist practice. Highly recommended. I’ve received brilliant dental care from Dr Helene du Preez who is highly skilled, knowledgeable and competent. She has great communication skills and cares for the health of her patients.

Negative experience: Do not take new patients besides being private. 'In reply to the owner of the practice of 05.08.2024 , trying to make believe that I am NHS customer shows his total lack of good faith, since I have been refused as a new private customer, which I found quite odd and unusual'. Do you need me to forward your emails of refusal of new private patient as a reminder? Please let me know. Kind regards

Fantastic experience: Everyone who works at Lakeside is customer focused, kind and compassionate. Your care and comfort is always their top priority. I've been a patient at Lakeside from day 1, and before that Helene was my dentist elsewhere. I wouldn't go anywhere else, and I tell anyone who'll listen that the service at Lakeside is wonderful. Lakeside are particularly good at supporting patients who are fearful or anxious. They really help you feel at ease in what can be an alien and frightening environment. I wouldn't hesitate. Get yourself an appointment and experience Lakeside's excellent dental care. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful dental team here! I'm in the middle of a set course of treatments with them, they were clear about pricing from the start and have been fantastic when I've scheduled the stages around my financial situation. The staff have also been extremely considered and understanding when I explained my fears and sensory issues with dentists and have been more than accommodating including have the room set up with my preferences over noise/lighting before I'm even called into the appointment. If I could give more stars I would do, fantastic value, easy to park, and just really welcoming

Fantastic experience: Lakeside has completely changed the way I feel about dentists! After a few bad past experiences with NHS dentists I stopped going and really neglected my teeth health. But after a needed trip to have a painful tooth removed, I am honestly excited about going again and getting the rest sorted! Melissa, my dentist, has to be one of the best in the industry. From her calming nature and the way she talks you through every little thing, to her care and attentiveness towards a nervous patient. I just can't fault a single thing. The practice is modern, clean and warm (not like those hospital feeling dentists I was used to) and everyone there, from the reception team to the owner, Helene, is smiley, friendly and wonderful. If I could give a review of above 5 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I recently lost my NHS dentist. After reading through lots of very positive reviews I signed up with Lakeside. First appointment today and truly impressed. I saw Melissa, she is just lovely, very welcoming and kind. I was made to feel that I was important and all my concerns were addressed. Such a relief to know that I will be well cared for in a pleasant and friendly environment. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I don’t often write reviews however I felt I had to share what a fantastic new dental practice Lakeside Dental is. It is the nicest dentist I have ever been to and Helene and the team were so professional, friendly and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Negative experience: I joined as a new patient last month after a recommendation and I was lucky enough to get Melissa as my dentist (dental nurse was amazing too). I cannot fault them in any way whatsoever. I rang today for an emergency appointment due to have an infected & failed crown and the receptionist completely lacked empathy, constantly made 'no' statements without attempting to offer any sort of solution and her tone of voice was dismissive. I remember thinking she was slightly rude to me at my last appointment when I initially said no to a payment slip and then changed my mind. I then asked to speak to a different member of staff which was agreed, but she phoned me back saying everyone else was busy. Funnily enough, her tone of voice and how accommodating she was completely changed, and she had managed to answer a question I had originally asked when initially telling me it was not possible. I guess Lakeside could check this if they have call recordings for their phone system. I have rung another practice and the conversation I had with the receptionist was completely different, in a positive way. I will not be returning to this practice which is a shame considering I have only recently paid £89 for an initial consultation and really liked Melissa, but being greeted by a rude receptionist is not particularly helpful, especially when you are in pain and are just looking for some help. Hopefully, this helps others to make decisions whether to join the practice, or at a minimum improves the customer service experience within the practice.

Fantastic experience: I can't give enough superlitives about this fabulous dental practice. I've needed to visit Lakeside on two separate occasions and each time it's been a joy! The entire practice is super calm, which helps a nervous patient like myself. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Helen (my dentist) explains things in such a lovely calm way and in a language I can understand. Sadly I had to have a tooth extracted and I felt absolutely no pain at all. Fabulous practice can't recommend enough.

Negative experience: Highly expensive. Although my wife went there with dental pain, they did not even check my wife's teeth fully which resulted in a missing dental carries. Never going there again. And I also request others not to go there. I want my money back.

Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the best dental experiences I’ve had. ( considering I’ve worked in dental for 7 years I’ve seen a fair few dental practices) you walk into a calm and welcoming reception-couldn’t fault the service I received from the lovely hygienist Karen and her nurse. She was friendly and made me feel at ease, she explained everything to me and we spoke about an on going treatment to give me the best results. I walked into her room apprehensive and nervous and left with a shiny new smile. Thank you so much Karen and your lovely nurse! Xx

Fantastic experience: Just joined the surgery having moved to Taunton. Brilliant service, Melissa is great. Surgery is modern and clean with on site parking. Fantastic experience: A similar experience to others but wanted reiterate it. I had a check up today with Melissa. What a fantastic experience from start to finish. The website was easy to use to book an appointment, the receptionist was friendly and professional and the surgery was clean and light. Melissa was knowledgeable and friendly. She didn't sugar coat things or talk down to me but took the time to explain and discuss options. Would hugely recommend Lakeside Dental.

Having read the reviews, I thought I would give Lakeside Dental a go, and I couldn't be happier! Melissa was lovely. She was so easy to chat to, and she listened and understood the problems that I had. It was a lovely calming environment. The waiting room is lovely, the receptionist was very helpful. It is easy to find. Very modern. All in all, dare I say it, considering it's a dentist, but a great experience! I can speak highly enough of them! What a dentist Zara is… my first appointment as an anxious patient she informed me I needed a deep filling which potentially may lead to root canal, this was awful for me to hear… numerous emails back and forth and Zara answered every question throughly and with detail… I arrived today for treatment… root canal avoided but a deep filling placed. Zara was fantastic, calm, played music I requested, gentle, made sure if I raised my hand she stopped. I will be recommending you to everyone looking for a dentist. Fantastic experience: If you’re nervous of the dentist, this is absolutely the place to go. I’ve been terrified of the dentist for 20+ years - one visit to Helene and I can safely say I won’t be anymore and I really can’t thank her enough for that. My husband’s family have used Helene as their family dentist for years and recommended her so highly for her caring and kind approach and I can now absolutely do the same. Helene was kind, patient and made sure the entire procedure was painless and also totally calm, explaining everything so I had no need for nerves and no surprises. Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant dental practice. Could not be happier with service provided. Took my son here for a hygienist appointment, he was quite nervous (as was I!) but the two ladies we saw put him at ease straight away. They took time to explain the procedure to him and showed him the tools they would be using. It was clear that they had lots of experience working with children before. The advice they gave was really helpful and they were so positive and upbeat throughout. Pricing was very fair and transparent from the beginning. I initially booked this as a ‘one off’ appointment but am now planning on moving the whole family over to this practice. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I cracked a tooth and needed a dentist in Taunton. Lakeside had just opened so I signed up. I had the best dental experience ever. They are in a nice quiet location with plenty of parking. It’s a new modern surgery with a very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. It’s an all women practice and I saw Helene and Becky. They were both wonderful and provided calm reassuring treatment to an anxious patient. Helene was brilliant and explained everything she was doing as she did it. I am so glad I found them. I will be back!

Fantastic experience: I am so happy to be a patient here. Their attention to detail can not only be seen in their patient care but also in the design of the practice. The pricing is transparent and fair, being able to book online is so convenient, as is the parking. I’ve received excellent treatment from Zara, Hannah and Becky.
