Our wheelchair-friendly practice in Taunton has been treating patients from across Somerset for over 40 years. We offer a range of private treatments, emergency appointments and NHS care. We’re open on Saturday mornings and open one late evening a week. We provide general dentistry, cosmetic dental treatments, teeth straightening and dental implants. Some of our popular services include teeth whitening, airflow treatment, full-arch implant restorations and Invisalign aligners. Fantastic experience: April 2026: Hygienist Emily Kearle was fantastic, so gentle, unrushed and kind with a very nervous patient. Explained all processes at each stage and gave detailed thorough advice for best management going forwards. I was contacted quickly for a late notice cancellation appointment availability which was excellent. I would highly recommend.
Positive experience: Whilst the treatment was very good, it is very difficult to get appointments even when you need fairly urgent tr3atment
Fantastic experience: Top experience always from Taunton Bupa. Gary manning and his team are always very professional and give great advice. They are superb at dealing with nervous patients. Update 4 years later. I really cannot fault Bupa Taunton. Gary is an absolute gem there. You can tell he is passionate about giving the correct advice to his patients, and that is what he has done and continues to do to for me. Fantastic experience: Following a practice change, Covid and then a retirement I was getting desperate for dental treatment but couldn’t find any NHS dentists - finally went to BUPA. Fantastic experience: I contacted BUPA Dental Care to make enquiries about being seen with chronic pain. The Receptionist was extremely helpful and offered an immediate appointment. I was seen by Dr Sravani who was extremely knowledgeable. She took x-rays and offered me a treatment package for the next day. Treatment was undertaken expertly by Dr Sravani and her extremely supportive dental assistant. Together this team worked absolute miracles. Thank you for your outstanding care. Would highly recommend this great team.
Fantastic experience: A first visit yesterday, and in fact, a first visit to any dentist for a number of years so I was quite nervous however the nervousness was totally unfounded as all staff were welcoming and made the visit as easy as possible. This was initially a consultation only however arriving at reception again to pay and book an appointment for an extraction, the reception staff stated the next appointment had not arrived and the dentist, S. Pirrirri offered to do rhe extraction straight away. Although I was nervous, I decided to take that offer and within 10 minutes, was leaving the dentist, minus a bad tooth and no pain felt whatsoever, expertly done!

Negative experience: Beware of misleading information to intice you to consider using this practise for any private work . The starting cost for a single dental implant is blatantly advertised starting from £1995. This starting price is providing there are no complications to deal with, this was also verified on the phone prior to attending for the £130 fee After the consultation to which I was informed no extra work was needed and no complications I was told the starting price was £2800 and they don't do it for £1995 along with where did you get that price!!!!. This is a difference of 20% after complaining they said it is an error on the website and that staff were not aware. They will now get it rectified. That was 3 weeks ago and yet they are still advertising the £1995 on there site today Not exactly a honest practice so be very careful of costs being uplifted. UPDATE Another month on and this practice is still advertising prices that they by there own admission can not be achieved. Advertising a low price just to lure you in only to increase cost over and above others. I say again Be very aware before booking a private consultation or any work with this practice. It would appear that the BUPA name means nothing here

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient here for several years and always had good treatment. I saw Emily, dental hygienist for some treatment today and she was great - really thorough and gentle. I usually find these treatments quite painful but this was not painful at all.
Fantastic experience: Joined earlier in the year and have had a couple of appointments with Stevie. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Stevie is so patient with me and really does care. Also had an emergency appointment for my daughter, with Gary who was equally fantastic.
Negative experience: I'm paying the insurance for nothing im struggling with dental pain for 2 weeks and they don't want to make appointments this year . They told me appointments available from next year even for emergency appointments.How is this possible?

Fantastic experience: I have recently moved to Taunton, Since COVID made an appearance last year all dentists have locked down and do not even want to heat the sentence "can i please register and make an appointment". I called the clinic today to be greeted warmly over the telephone and also to have been offered an appointment within 2 weeks ! I am still yet to physically visit the practice but they are definitely off to a good start !

All patients or non-patients who contact us about a dental problem are currently offered a triage call from a clinician. The clinician will assess the need for a face-to-face appointment or may offer advice over the phone. If the clinician deems the issue can be resolved over the phone, they will direct new patient enquiries to our website to complete a contact form. We will then offer them a new patient routine examination for the next available slot. If the clinician deems urgent care is required, we will aim to see patients or non-patients within 24 hours. Fantastic experience: This is a first class private dentist. They saw me over the Christmas period as an emergency within 48 hours. I was seen as a private patient as I was let down and unhappy with my NHS dentist. I saw Gary Manning and he was nothing short amazing he saved my broken tooth without going for an expensive and destructive crown procedure. He rebuilt the tooth over an hour with composite white filling to match the surrounding teeth. The result is very strong and well constructed repair that is lasting well. From reception to chair the service is the best I have had from a dentist. The charge was reasonable as well. Can't fault, the staff or building etc, just a shame no free carpark but that's not their fault given location. Thank you so much

Fantastic experience: This has to be the best dental practice I’ve used . From the receptionist, the dental nurse and the dentist Gary . I had to have a tooth extracted, which was apparently quite tricky to do due to curved roots . Gary talked me through the whole process and was very thorough and professional. I was so pleased with the treatment I received .

Fantastic experience: I have been with the Taunton dental practice for a few years now and have nothing but positive things to say. Every member working there, from the reception staff, dental nurses and the dentist him/herself are extremely professional, but in a really friendly and kind way. I recently lost a veneer and was given an appointment to be seen the following day. I saw Dr. Manning who I can only say is the best dentist I have ever been to. He explained everything carefully and answered any questions I had in a professional but also very kind way. He replaced my veneer and it looks better than the one I had before. I can’t praise him or this practice enough, if I could give more than five stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I have attended the Bupa Dental surgery for several years. This week I broke a tooth and needed an emergency appointment, which was arranged quickly. I was seen by Danni. She is very skilled professionally but also kind and keen to ensure I was as comfortable as possible during the procedure. I found her professional, capable and caring.

Fantastic experience: As there are over 15,000 people waiting to get an NHS dentist in Cornwall and Devon, something we only discovered after moving here 6 weeks ago, my partner and I had to travel 2 hours 15 minutes to Bupa Dental Care in Cornwall. This is following a traumatic time I have been having with a mystery cause of pain in my teeth, and feeling like all the doors to help are shut down here because of the NHS dental crisis. The tears I have shed could fill buckets! So the closest place we could find a dentist is in Somerset and without having to wait until August or September just to get on a waiting list to then get a call and make an appointment as well. Anyway we managed to book an appointment and we had to hire a car for the day as we have had two cars break since moving down here (when it rains it pours) we aren't flush for money so the cost of this isn't something we could repeat. As well as basically taking a day off work. Anyway we arrived at the centre only to find that we were not anywhere on the list for our appointments. The receptionist said we couldn't be found. Well, we both about broke down. How had this happened? We triple checked the location but somehow we had booked in at the dentist 30 minutes away, under the same company name. It was totally our fault, but, wow, I think we both about cried on the spot. Little did we know that the lady on reception was an actual angel. She immediately started ringing the the other dentist to see if she could help us change the appointment time. She even text the manager who she knew personally to ask if she could help. She then said 'we will see you here'. She said 'you can't have come all this way and not be seen'. Makes me tearful thinking about it! She then gave us some forms and managed to squeeze us in with the one NHS dentist that they have. We were seen, the dentist and dental nurse were lovely. They couldn't solve my dental mystery but they tried! Had we have been turned away and then gone home without even being seen, I think we would have just not spoken for days feeling like utter idiots. We've had such a spell of bad luck and so many people be unhelpful, to have somebody help us in this way without a thought is just, amazing and we won't ever forget it. You don't come across staff so willing to help like this, all that often these days. Thank you that lady, for taking pity on us that day. It really helped us feel a little less dejected during what has been a very challenging time.
